CHAPTER 02 - Because he's my best friend
Lucia's phone kept ringing, incoming calls from her best friend Reisa relentlessly made her forced to answer the calls despite being driving.
“I'll be there in 15 minutes, don't panic, calm yourself Reisa and wait for me, only 15 minutes ok!“ lusia said briefly then turned off the phone and refocused driving.
“Wah, the wind is very strong, will it rain?” gerutu Lucia glanced at the trees she passed by in the wind swaying so quickly.
As promised, it was not even 15 minutes for a box car bearing the words ‘Friends Cafe’ driven by Lusia to stop at the parking area of Psithurism Art. Psithurism Art is a painting gallery where Reisa works.
Lucia immediately rushed down from the car after reaching for a paper bag containing Reisa's clothes and high heels from the front bench of passengers in a hurry. In fact, the Cafe apron still hung neatly on its body.
“Ah stupid..., why am I still wearing it” said Lucia while trying to remove the apron and enter the Gallery with quick footsteps.
The reason why Lucia was there was because she had earlier received an emergency call from Reisa, her best friend who suddenly needed her help. At the time, Lucia was working the night shift at the cafe. Without a heavy heart, Lucia willingly exchanged her rest time to fulfill Reisa's request.
“Goodnight.“ greet a security officer Psithurism Art open the door for Lusia. Lucia simply replied by nodding her head and smiling. He continued walking at a rapid pace non-stop while making phone calls.
“Where are you? I thought you'd welcome me in front of Galeri“ asked Lusia in a phone call with Reisa.
“Down, I have....“ continued, said Lucia then stopped when she saw her best friend Reisa running towards her. Lucia ended the call with Reisa.
“Oh... Thank you Lucia, you are my savior today” said Reisa who immediately hugged Lucia.
Lucia took off Reisa's embrace and looked at him with a serious look. “I think your current suit is not too bad” said Lucia while looking at Raisa from head to toe.
A white shirt with a vertical black stripe, combined with a black blazer and palazzo pants that Reisa currently wears should be well-deserved to attend an office event.
“But it's an overly formal appearance and Big Boss has seen me with this appearance every day, so I have to be different tonight to shake her heart” whispered Reisa in the ear of Lusia by playing her eyebrows smile while slowly grabbing the paper bag from Lucia's hand.
“Is it a very important event?“ ask Lucia.
“Of course, you know if before every Big Boss took me to some company event but it was always messed up. There is always something going on so we fail to go with“ Reisa said in a very guilty tone.
“And that's because you yourself are the one who always messes with it” Lucia chirped.
Reisa is smiling too. “Because of that, this time I will do my best" he said excitedly. "But, do you know Luisa?“ he continued asking Lucia enigmaticly while glancing around.
“Do not know ! Say directly what you want to say without further ado ask” replied Lucia ready to listen.
“Hufft...“ Reisa let out a short sigh thinking about what she wanted to say.
Reisa gestured for Lucia to get closer to her. “You know, this is the first time that Big Boss has invited me to a gathering without notice, without message, without further ado and without asking me in advance.“ said Reisa in a slightly upset tone.
“Then, what's the problem with that ? just go follow him” said Lucia with a reaction as if it was not a problem.
“Yaaa...!" Reisa's shout instantly involuntarily nearly broke Lucia's eardrum. He also continued his words. "You don't understand if women have to have preparation. Otherwise, look at Lucia, there is nothing special about my appearance right now. Even I had to trouble you coming here" he said with a hint of annoyance but also seemed very excited.
"Did you just insinuate me for not having a partner, so you think I don't understand it?. Besides the current situation is like we're in a love drama where you're the lead and I'm just a figure. So why should I understand it, just do my part" said Lucia teasing Reisa.
"Lussia, that's not what I mean" Reisa sternly looked at Lucia.
Lucia laughed a little. “Hahaha. All right, all right, I'm just kidding. Besides, now you don't have to worry about anything because I'm already here and have brought you all without missing a single thing you asked” explained Lucia to calm Reisa's frustration.
“You are right, I know you are the best Lucia“ said Reisa smiling by giving the heart symbol from her finger.
“Sure, so now that you can calm down, stop panicking and go hurry up and change your clothes Princess Reisa” led Lucia by patting both shoulders of Reisa.
“Lussia, once again I'm sorry I made you lose your break" Reisa said with a sorry face.
Lucia did not feel burdened or bothered, because Reisa was one of the three friends she had so far, they had known each other since sitting in High School. Reisa's sometimes spoiled nature makes him always rely on Lucia. Lusia is also very familiar with Reisa who easily panics and likes to have excessive worry about something.
"But don't worry Lucia, I'll make it up to you by ordering your favorite sandwich online, OK?” continue to say Reisa. Lucia replied with a nod and smiled.
Amidst the chatter of the two, came a man dressed in a neat suit to approach them. “Lussia, are you here?“ greet the man while giving the code pointing at the watch he was wearing to Reisa. A code for Reisa to hurry up and get ready to go to the event.
“I'll go upstairs, you can accompany Lucia first” pinta Reisa to the man then leave Lucia with him.
“Reisa didn't tell me if you'd come” the man said.
“Hei... Big Boss” greeted Lusia with a smile and changed his face by frowning. “Do you not feel outrageous ?” continue asking the man.
“I? Overly? Did I make a mistake? Is that what you were talking about just now? Did Reisa say something to you?“ ask the man to Lucia. The handsome guy they nicknamed the Big Boss.
The nickname Big Boss is indeed very suitable for a man named David because he is the owner of Psithurism Art Galery, which of course he is the Boss of the company where Reisa works. Not only that, David is also a friend of Lucia. David still seemed confused in response to the insinuation of Lucia just now.
“How can you take her to a sudden gathering without notice, without message, without, without further ado and without asking him before so had to torture me all the way here just for the sake of clothes and high heels to look perfect in front of this heartless man” ledek Lusia indirectly conveyed reisa's complaint to David. Of course he copied all of Reisa's words to him.
“So you came here to bring her clothes and shoes?“ david asked as if he still did not understand the situation.
“If not, do you think I came just to greet you? Hey, David haha” replied Lusia laughing to sneak up on David's question.
“Reisa didn't say anything to me if she needed something“ David replied softly as he stared at Reisa waiting for the elevator door to open.
“While I had planned to take him to the Boutique first before going to the venue, I should have told him earlier“, David said in his heart with a sigh of regret.
“I think women who are interested, crazy and fascinated by you will be instantly heartbroken and disappointed because their dream to become Cinderella must be lost. How not, because the prince of the heart that is so desired insensitive and does not understand the contents of the heart of women“ Lucia said offending David who is not romantic.
“I…? Do you think I should understand every woman who understands me? Can I do it to another woman?" david asked back.
"Do it! if you want to see me make your handsome face no longer shaped" said Lucia with a threatening face.
David was laughing. "I'm not insensitive or callous. Do you not know if I. ” said David stuck while staring at Lucia.
“If what? Whahuh? Try saying your defense” firmly Lucia raised her head to David's face and became closer. David rounded his eyes looking at the face of Lucia who was so close to him. He also looked at Lucia for a moment.
“Tek… !! David ended his gaze with a flick of his finger slung onto Lucia's forehead.
“Hyaaaa... !!!“ shouted Lucia who was a little in pain because of David's actions. David immediately turned his gaze along with a small stifled cough and continued his words. “Of course if I could be a romantic guy in my own way. Even you can be fascinated!” continued.
“Wahhh..., you gave me goosebumps.” Lucia rubbed her own two arms as if in disbelief at what she had just heard from the handsome and tall man who was currently standing before her.
Their conversation continued, David still accompanied Lucia while waiting for Reisa to finish changing clothes and dressing up. Lucia looked at David who was talking to her.
"Although I often feel envious of the romantic partner, but for you I actually approve of it and very happy. You are the man of her dreams, and I can calmly let go of my best friend Reisa to be a very special person to you. I believe you can take good care of her and make her a very lucky woman of course. I am very happy for him, because he is my best friend“ Lucia said in her heart with a smile looking at David.
