CHAPTER 40 - Untold Facts

Lucia came out of Rayn's room, she was surprised if Arka was standing before Rayn's door. “He's resting, you don't need to take care of him. You can go for a break” Lucia told Arka.

Arka listened to Lucia's orders. He apologizes to Lucia for not being with Rayn. Lucia could not say much, she just asked Arka not to discuss anything with Rayn later about what happened. Lucia doesn't know if Arka is involved or not, but she still can't blame him because all she knows is Rayn's decision to go alone. Lucia let Arka back down.

Lucia approached Mickey who was sitting on the sofa of the reading room. He asked Mickey to come with him to the 1st floor. Lucia wants to hear an explanation from Mickey about what really happened with Rayn today.

Mickey could already guess if Lucia would definitely ask him, he followed Lucia down to the 1st floor. Mickey asks Arka to go for a moment to enjoy the air outside. Because he did not want to hear what he was going to talk about with Lucia. Arka understood that it was the code that asked him to leave the Villa first.

“What really happened today?” lusia asked Mickey without further ado after Arka exited Villa.

“Sit” Mickey invites Lucia to sit down.

Mickey is pretty sure that Rayn must not have told Lucia. However, he feels that Lucia should know because Lucia is the only person he hopes to be able to unlock Rayn's past. Mickey slowly begins to tell it to Lucia after Lucia sits on the guest sofa opposite him.

“He just met his father. His father came from Canada on business. As you know, Rayn and her father's relationship hasn't been good since her mother's death. Rayn feels that her father stopped treatment and exiled her because he could not accept her mother's death which was most likely due to her” Mickey said.

“What do you mean... Rayn was the cause of her mother's death?” ask Lucia. He was shocked by what Mickey had just said. “Didn't you tell me that Rayn refused treatment, not her father who stopped her treatment?” continued to ask Lucia with an increasingly serious look at Mickey. Mickey hid a lot from him.

Mickey confirmed that the two refused treatment for Rayn's phobia. “He did stop Rayn's treatment. But, Rayn herself also refused the treatment” replied Mickey.

"On the death of his mother. No one knows except Ryan. He was the only silent witness who knew the cause of the tragedy” Mickey said.

“Why should he? If he's a silent witness, why do you call him the cause of his mother's death?” ask Lucia.

“I understand why you ask like that. Before I answer it, promise me to help me and won't leave it or hurt it one day. “After you learn of the great problems of the Anderson family, I hope you do not renege on your promise with a betrayal. Because if that happens, I can't guarantee the safety of your life from the hands of the Anderson” family continued Mickey indirectly threatening Lucia.

“Don't worry, it was a promise I told him and I'm not the one who reneged on the promise” he replied with great confidence.

“Alright, I trust you. Maybe this is still only part of what I can tell you. You need to know, Rayn's not just a witness. He was also a victim in the accident. He survived the tragedy that took his mother's life that night. Rayn was found unconscious and in a coma for 2 weeks. But... “ Mickey stopped his words because he felt it was something difficult to say.

“But what?” ask Lucia.

Mickey paused for a moment and sighed and continued. “But, when he regained consciousness from his coma he did not remember anything that had happened. Rayn only remembers that night when she went out with her mother to enjoy the celebration of a festival. And another piece of memory that he remembered, at the time of the accident he cried for help for his mother to the people around” said Mickey.

“Then... ?“ ask Lucia.

“Which he said It was different to what happened at TKP. They found Ryan unconscious in the car, then they helped him” Mickey replied.

“So, do you think he lied?” ask Lucia. “ That can't be” he continued.

Mickey explains that Rayn's not lying. But they also could not draw conclusions if it was true. Rayn's memory is contrary to the facts of the incident. The doctor said if a piece of memory he had was just a piece of memory that Rayn created himself from his subconscious at that time. There must be a bitter fact that he is difficult to accept, thus encouraging himself to forget and create new memories that are not true.

When Rayn wakes up from a coma, not only is she unable to remember the incident, but she also undergoes a change in her. Rayn couldn't take a touch from anyone. Doctors diagnosed Rayn as suffering from haphephobia due to the severe trauma she experienced in the accident.

Rayn can heal her phobias with hypnotherapy to find the triggers of her toughest trauma. He must dig his memory back into what really happened in the accident on the night of the festival.

“The trigger?” ask Lucia.

“The truth or fact that he forced to forget could have been a trigger Phobias” Mickey replied.

Lucia still did not believe what she heard. “Despite that, there is nothing to prove if Ryan was the cause of his mother's accident and death. It could have been an accident not because of anything. As for the memory of why he did not remember, he was very small at the time. It was only natural that it was hard for him to uncover the facts. What's wrong with that. How his father thought only of the truth rather than the condition of his own son. Isn't it too cruel to blame him just for having a memory that is not the truth.

That night Rayn insisted on going to the festival accompanied by her mother. His father, Mr. Charles, who was abroad at the time, did not allow it. However, due to Rayn's insistence and whining, Rayn's mother decides to leave secretly to enjoy the night of the festival with Rayn. No one would have expected that night to be a tragic night for the Anderson family.

At that time, Mickey who was only a year older than Ryan was crying, he sat on the bed with an infusion needle still stuck in his hand. She was accompanied by an aunt of Anderson's family nanny. “Young Master Mickey... This is not your fault” said the babysitter aunt by wiping Mickey's tears.

“The accident happened was not your fault. Although Young Master Rayn remembers it later, it is still not your fault Mr. Mickey” he said continuously by hugging Mickey who continued to cry with a trembling body.

Another memory he recalls was when Rayn approached him some time before going out to enjoy a festival night with her mother. “Don't worry, I'll take your place to go see the festival” Rayn said with a smile and hugged her.

Mickey closed his eyes for a moment by taking a deep breath and then looked back at Lucia. He did not answer Lucia's question anymore. “That's all I can say right now. I have high hopes for your recovery. In addition to her father who decided to stop treatment, Rayn also rejected it because she felt it was a proper punishment for her. And he chose to accept his father's hatred for the rest of his life for his mother. So do whatever it takes to push him back into hypnotherapy. In addition to his recovery, it will also reveal facts that I believe in Rayn's heart also wants to know” said Mickey.

“I also want to know, what he will think and do to me if he remembers” continued Mickey said in his heart by squeezing the phone in his hand firmly.

Mickey got up from his seat. “Go get some rest, I'll call him back” Mickey said leaving Lusia.

Lucia went back up to Lucia's room, she opened the door and saw Rayn who was already sound asleep. He only looked at Rayn from the door that was only half-opened.

“*During this time, must have been very heavy for you. I can't imagine you'd choose to live your life by enduring that suffering someone yourself.
