CHAPTER 21 - Take My Hand

Lucia is ready to start her new job at Villa Rayn. Although he still does not know in detail what kind of work he will do, but he remains enthusiastic and sure if all is going

God's for him.

Initially, Lucia was determined to accept this job so that she could immediately raise money to redeem her grandmother's house which was guaranteed by her stepfather's debt by her mother. He had previously planned to ask for an upfront salary during the contract, but after hearing the debate between Rayn and Mickey made him aware, otherwise he should have taken advantage of the situation of others. His family's debt problems Lucia decides she will find another way.

Lusia had arrived at Villa, he who had learned Rayn's home password immediately pressed the screen password and entered. Arriving inside, his eyes were wide open and he saw the main room table full of empty bottles of liquor. Lucia put down her bag with a rough sigh. Unexpected view on his first day at work. Without much thought he rushed to find a plastic trash bag to clean it.

“This much, did he after having a drinking party” dumel Lucia while putting one by one drink bottle into a plastic bag.

“After spending all this I am sure he must have been sprawled unable to move in his room. Looks like my first assignment here was making a hangover soup for him” he said staring at the stairs of the 2nd floor and then went to the kitchen.

Lucia opened the refrigerator to prepare the ingredients but she had to be surprised by the empty contents of the refrigerator and there were only a few bottles of liquor. Lucia immediately contacted Mickey to confirm what she was seeing at the moment.

"Mickey, you said you were the one who took care of all his needs, but do you know what I found in the fridge ?” lusia asked in a call by lowering one bottle of the drink from the refrigerator.

“What's full of booze again?” miceky answered, sounding a rough sigh.

“Again ?” ask Lucia.

“I am a person who cares a lot about his nutrition, therefore I have arranged regularly if he will accept all the needs of fruits and vegetables. But it seems he made it wasted again.”

“Wasted?” ask Lucia.

Mickey was not surprised by this, which is why he now tells Lucia every morning to check the closet outside the Villa. Mickey has prepared a place for the couriers who deliver groceries, ready meals, packages and others there. This is because Rayn's condition does not allow physical contact with the couriers.

Although Mickey has arranged everything for Rayn, but it is not uncommon for Rayn to ignore it and still let everything in the box remain there until the maid in charge of cleaning the house came to check it out.

“Don't worry, I won't make him malnourished even if he's the one who ignores him. There are already hotel catering who routinely deliver meals for him. They should be coming over to take care of breakfast in the morning. The groceries I prepared only if he was bored and wanted to cook his own other”, said Mickey.

“Wahh..., you already sound like his wife" chirped Lucia heard Mickey actually set everything up for Rayn.

“Haha... The rest I will explain later because I am currently meeting” Mickey said and hung up.

“What is a refrigerator bar? There is nothing to do except drink bottles. Lucia finally decided to make porridge and will plan to go shopping afterwards.

After making the porridge, Lucia sent a message to Mickey asking him where Rayn's room was.

Lusia [Tell me where the room is ! ]

Mickey [Up to the 2nd floor, when looking to the left side there are 2 doors straight way, the door to the right is his room ]

Lucia rushed to deliver the porridge to Rayn's room. But when he was about to climb the stairs, suddenly heard the sound of someone ringing Bell and shouting “I from the hotel have put your breakfast skidded" said a man who sounded very loud.

Lucia put back the porridge she had made and went to check the food package that came. When the courier opened the door, it was gone. He saw it in a box of boxes Rice Box from one of the famous hotels.

“Wah, does he always have breakfast from this hotel? I will not be able to compete with the Chef from the famous hotel” said Lusia lethargic feeling that the cuisine will not be that great.

Rayn who had woken up slowly down the stairs went to the kitchen. He grabbed a bottle of water on his desk and sipped it. But the bottle only caught a mouthful. Rayn puts it back down and walks towards the fridge to pick up a new one.

Rayn breathed a rough frown after finding an empty refrigerator without a single bottle of drink that she had previously stored. Lucy enters the house with Rayn's Rice Box. Hearing the sound of people entering, Rayn closed the refrigerator and went over.

“Mickey, what are you doing with my drink?” rayn shouted walking into the living room, but he was surprised by the presence of Lucia who was also walking towards the kitchen.

“You are awake, I made porridge and intend to take it to your room but there is this food package come” said Lucia Rice Box owned by Rayn.

“So that's you” said Rayn by breathing rough looking at Lucia.

“Mickey says he has business, so today he did not come”.

“I asked that you did it?“ rayn asked pointing to the refrigerator.

“Oh, that drink. How can you just keep booze in your fridge. You know if it's not good for your health” Lucia replied.

Rayn momentarily closed her eyes hearing Lucia's reply, as if holding back her anger and breathing rough again.

"I let you stay but that doesn't mean I'm gonna let you interfere in my life. What right do you have to do it?“ ask Ryan.

“I have no rights, but do you know that slowly you are trying to damage your body?. Why do you only consume those hard drinks?” ask Lucia.

“What do you care?. It's your first day, but if you're sick of seeing it you can leave, I don't need you and you can get out on your own. I never asked you to come” said Rayn leaving Lucia.

Lucia grabbed Ryan's arm to hold him. He got hooked and started to get angry with Rayn's words.

“What are you doing?” Rayn asked to release Lucia's hand by grabbing her.

“How can you speak that harshly?” ask Lucia.

“Why? are you mad? or you'd like to say that you're feeling sorry for me. Whys? Is it because of what Mickey told you about my condition?. If that's what you think you should leave now” said Rayn pointing at the door.

“You're right, maybe I look like I'm feeling sorry for you. But.., not that. You have to get those pitying thoughts out of a person who is truly sincere and cares about you.

Rayn ignored him and resumed her steps leaving Lucia.

“You touched those drinks not because you wanted to drink them, right? Because you are too cowardly” said Lucia made Rayn stop her steps.

“You... .” Lucia exhaled and continued her words again. ”You just made it an impingement to cover up your fear. As hard as it is how can you choose to damage your body” he continued.

“Stop your nonsense, you don't understand anything.” Cut Rayn turned her head towards Lucia.

“Then, do they understand you? What are those drinks that will give you a way to get courage?” Lucia shouted towards the refrigerator where Rayn kept the liquor bottles.

Lucia started to extend her hand to Rayn. Rayn just silently stared intently at Lucia.

“I just want to help you not because I love you. Can't you just pick my hand out over them? I can always hold your hand, take you anywhere. I can listen to all your complaints, I can be your friend. Can you take it by taking my hand?” lusia asked still extending a hand hoping that Rayn would accept it.

“Do you realize what you're saying? Do you know why I turned down the deal? Do you know what it means if I receive your hand?” ryan asked with a serious face.

"It looks like you've been thinking a lot of things” replied Lusia.

“That means you've given up your whole life for me. Because nothing will change for me, so I will continue to depend on you and rely on you for the rest of my life” said Rayn to make Lucia speechless.

Rayn is very self-conscious and says in her heart. “How can I drag someone else to ruin with me. How can I be selfish by wasting your life just to be my defense” he said inwardly.

“You... ” says Lucia staring at Rayn wistfully.

“Alright, if you understand, then I will extend my hand. Are you going to grab it and still want to continue?" rayn asked back with a hand to Lucia. He hoped Lucia would back down.

Seeing Lucia just silently staring at him, Rayn already knew Lucia's answer. “It looks like now that you understand what I mean, don't waste your time like what Mickey” did said Rayn pulling back her hand and turning to leave Lucia.

Lucia's unexpected decision rattled Rayn as Lucia grabbed her arm then slowly clasped her hand.

“You can continue to rely on me, rely on me and ask me to stay by your side. I don't care if you're gonna get well or maybe it's never gonna happen the way you say it will. I don't give a shit. I will remain at your side, be a shield for you and hold your hand like this” said Lucia looking at her hand holding Rayn's and then looking at Rayn's face.

“I'll make sure I'm always on your side, let's do it all together” he continued with an encouraging smile.

“Mother, did you send her to me? What am I supposed to do now?" he said inwardly looking at Lucia who was clasping her hands with a smile.
