CHAPTER 124 - The Delayed Night

Today has become a special day for Rayn and Lucia, but unfortunately Rayn can not mingle with those who attended the wedding ceremony. Even so, they all understood Rayn's condition very well, enough for them to see Rayn and Lusia happy then everything was fine.

"Congratulations Rayn" said Mr. Charles congratulating his son. "Before you return, make sure you come to see Dad" he continued.

Rayn nodded with a smile. "Thank you dad for coming" Rayn said.

"If you're very grateful, then you should treat your father to a cup of tea" said Mr. Charles smiling and saying goodbye to leave because there was a business schedule that he could not leave.

Mickey tells Rayn to drive Mr. Charles to his car. Before getting into the car, Mr. Charles had a brief conversation with Mickey. He asks Mickey not to worry too much and lets Rayn settle in Canada whenever he wants. Mr. Charles also warns Mickey to keep a secret from Rayn about his surviving father.

"I'll keep an eye on your father, you'll take care of Rayn and his wife" Mr. Charles told Mickey.

Mickey reluctantly accepts the decree, convincing Master Charles to entrust Rayn and Lucia's safety to him. Of course Mr. Charles has full faith in Mickey. Otherwise, he wouldn't have let Mickey near Rayn.

Mickey lets Mr. Charles in the car and the driver starts running the vehicle. Mickey was still standing staring at Mr. Charles's car which began to disappear from his sight leaving Church.

"I didn't let my dad touch Rayn, never will. I'm the one who's gonna make him pay for everything he's done."

Mickey clenched his hands talking quietly alone with a face full of hatred and anger considering all the crimes his father had done.

Seeing that Mr. Charles is gone, Dr. Leona, who had noticed them, started walking toward Mickey. "Are you sure everything's gonna be okay ?" ask Mickey.

Mickey was silent for a moment he knew very well what Dr. D. was currently worrying about. Leona. Mickey confidently said to Dr. Leona if he is now no longer a weak little Mickey and easily bullied by his father. Now he just needs to look after Rayn and watch her father's every move. Although his father is currently in prison, his father can still be a threat to Rayn.

Mickey is convinced that all the crimes committed by his father could not have been done alone. Mickey's father must have connections or whoever it was that would carry out his orders for all crimes outside of prison.

Mickey sighed and asked Dr. Leona stopped worrying. He still has no plans now. However, what Mickey definitely wants to do right now is make sure Rayn enjoys the precious moments of her life, without the burden and anxiety of being in Canada.

"Then, what about you?" cut off Dr. Leona.

"I? Of course I'll keep an eye on him" Mickey said.

"I didn't ask about Rayn, but you. What about your happiness? Don't you want to chase and get that happiness? Didn't.." asked Dr. Leona with a look of pity.

"Do you think I look like I need it right now?" cut Mickey's question.

Dr. Leona was stunned for a moment, she could not believe that she was alone worrying about the man standing right in front of her right now. Even the man seemed to care less about himself.

"Alright, all right, there's no point in me worrying about you" said Dr. Leona.

Dr. Leona walked away leaving him with a resigned face, he only realized if he should not bother asking because he understood it was like Mickey who he knew. In the dictionary of Mickey's life, happiness itself is not a priority, even just with Rayn's happiness is enough to make him happy and able to reduce his burden and guilt.

In hotel...

All sessions of the event have been completed including a banquet together. Lucia accompanied the mother who looked tired, even she had just accompanied Lucas to sleep. Lucas was no longer a child, but Lucas wanted his brother to be with him and be by his side until he fell asleep. Lucas misses Lucia so much, which is why he always gets spoiled whenever he meets his beloved brother.

Rayn who had been accompanying them had said goodbye to return to her room. He allowed Lucia and her mother to rest.

Lucia's mother suddenly asked Rayn to stop her footsteps from opening the door to exit. Lucy's mother asked Lucia to move into Rayn's hotel room because they are now officially married.

With consideration before, Lucia rejected it because now she just wants more time for her mother and sister who she misses so much. Rayn has also allowed him, and he and Rayn will still have more time later than the short time he has with his mother and Lucas.

"But you are newlyweds. How can you have separated the room on your first night" said Lucia's mother.

Rayn smiled, telling her mother-in-law that she didn't mind it. All that has become the choice and decision of Lucia, as long as it is not contrary to the norm, then he will agree and follow it because the happiness of Lucia is the most important for him of everything. Even though she had to miss the first night of the bride, she was fine.

Not wanting to make Lucy's mother anxious for too long, Rayn continued to return to her hotel room. Lucy's mother could not say anything more and could not force the two. He only resignedly followed the wishes and decisions of Lucia even though he felt a little bad with his daughter-in-law.

As Rayn walks back to her hotel room, Rayn meets Mickey who is looking for her. Mickey wants to give the key to the hotel room that he has prepared as a wedding gift for Rayn and Lucia. Mickey had already booked a beautifully designed bridal room full of romance for the two of them to enjoy their first night.

But unfortunately Mickey had to be disappointed because it was all for nothing. "You sure you're gonna miss it?" ask Mickey still can't believe that tonight Rayn and Lucia will split the room.

"Yeah...!! Rayn, it's your first night, you know that" Mickey continued.

"What's the matter if I miss ma...lam.." said Rayn restrained from being embarrassed to say it.

Rayn swallowed her saliva and continued. "What matters is that, no matter if this is a tradition that has to be done the first night or what, I just want to give him time with his family. Tomorrow Mother and Lucas will be home, while Lucia looks to still miss them a lot and wants to be together. How could I not care, I was fine, there was no need to rush and slow down" he said.

With full confidence Rayn said that while still walking straight ahead. Without looking at Mickey who was also walking behind him with a distance of one meter from him.

"Wooowww..you are very considerate of your wife" Mickey said.

Rayn suddenly stopped and suddenly made Mickey also had to stop his steps to keep his distance from Rayn. Rayn turned around and threw a smile at Mickey, her face adorable mixed with a shy smile but also very happy.

"Why your reaction? Have you been that happy with just my compliment?" mickey asked in surprise and gave his thumb. "Yes, you're such a cool husband" she continued, praising Rayn.

Rayn was still smiling and trying to throw away the reaction of her face which was also considered quite ridiculous.

"Not because you said I looked cool. But..., wife...? You're right, she's my wife now. I'm just glad that you're getting used to calling it that way, keep it Mickey" Rayn ordered, then turned back around to go back to the room.

"Waaah, this is how the newlyweds feel and behave" Mikcey grumbled softly and smiled.

The woman suddenly panicked and tried to straighten her hair. While her husband was busy looking for a key card and said, "I'm sorry I'm so excited because it's our first 100-day night celebration" she said, opening her hotel room door and entering.

Rayn silently swallowed her saliva to see the couple's affection. Mickey again held up the hotel room key card he had ordered to Rayn.

"They had to celebrate their first 100 nights, and what about your first night? Are you sure you can hold it and resist this?" ask Mickey to play the key card of the hotel room more tempting to make Rayn waver will his decision.

Rayn reached out her hand, she flipped her palm gesturing for Mickey to throw the key card at her.

"Haha, this is the right choice. I'm sure you won't be able to hold Rayn in" Mickey smiled triumphantly as he threw a keycard in his hand at Rayn.

Rayn accepted it and stood at the door of the couple's room and knocked on the door of the hotel room. A man came out and Rayn immediately took a step back.

"What's wrong?" ask the man.

Rayn presented the hotel room keycard to the man with a face like a millionaire who wanted to waste money. "The gift of your first 100 days of the night, as well as being a gift for your 100 days of marriage" Rayn said with a smile.

The man looked puzzled at the key card of a Presidential Suite room Rayn had offered him. Rayn threw the key card back at Mickey.

"Give it to him as a gift" said Rayn, who asked Mickey to hand over the room key to the man because he could not do so.

"Hopefully this gift adds to the good memories of your night" Rayn said, shifting her head slightly to look inside the couple's hotel room.

Rayn saw the male female partner standing looking out in her untidy pajamas and slightly open. Rayn looked back at the man. "And have a good time to enjoy the evening activities of the two of you" he continued to the man.

Rayn then left just like that, the smile on her face immediately turned back into a flat face and she left Mickey just like that who still had to smile awkwardly to the man in front of her.

"Aissttt, you little boy" Mickey lamented inwardly at Rayn's missing back in the corridor.

Mickey gives the keys to the hotel room that was supposed to be Rayn and Lucia's wedding gift to the couple. Mickey says they can move into larger, luxurious and also very romantic hotel rooms for free. Although at first they did not understand why they got the gift, but the young married couple received it with great pleasure and gratitude.

Arriving at his hotel room, Rayn opened his phone after hearing a notification of an incoming message. A message from Lucia and Rayn opened it.

lusia [I'm sorry and thank you Rayn ]

Slowly a smile began to fall on Rayn's lips while reading Lucia's message, Lucia gave the emoji teary eyes and ended with the emoji a kiss. Rayn then looked at the 2 plane tickets on the table. He took a picture and sent it to Lucia.

- Rayn [Do not apologize and do not worry about me, I have prepared 2 tickets for our vacation to Vancouver before returning home ]

Rayn already has her own plans, she arranges a special holiday schedule with Lucia to Vancouver for 4 days. Their departure on the same day as the return of Lucia's mother and sister, meaning they will have different flights with different destinations.

Lucia was shocked to see the ticket Rayn had sent her. Lucia had thought that they would return home with her mother and sister, but Rayn had her own plans.

rayn [Do you agree? I can cancel it if you want us to go home with your mother ]

lusia [Why I disagree when you've prepared it. Of course I will also follow my husband's every decision ]

Rayn smiled again in embarrassment. "Su...a...mi....?" rayn spoke for himself. "Husband, yes husband" he continued with a shy smile of his own.

Rayn seemed very happy to see Lucia calling her husband. He then looked back at the 2 tickets he had prepared.

"It would be hard for me to hold him back if he continued to lure me like this. This Wahhhh is a difficult test" Rayn said, feeling her helpless heart.

Rayn patted both of her cheeks to wake up. "No Rayn, you can do it. The first night doesn't have to be really the first night" he continued, shaking repeatedly.

Rayn then went to open the fridge. He grabbed a bottle of mineral water and gulped it down nonstop like a man who was completely thirsty. "Yes, of course I can hold it."

The night was getting late, outside the drizzling rain fell on Quebeq. Rayn's still awake, like she might not be able to sleep tonight.

"Not only Lucia, nature also seems to be testing and baiting me. Why is it raining tonight ? It made it harder for me to survive" said Rayn, leaning on the sofa, with a half-excited face, staring at the window where the window curtain was still open.

Ironically, he looked like the groom left by the bride on her first night.

Not only Rayn, Lucia was still not asleep. He stood looking at the drizzle of rain from behind the window. Lucia also seemed to still not be able to close her eyes. Fate had truly bound the two of them to wake up together.

"Is this a form of love ? How could I have missed him so much while not one day had I parted with him" Lucia's inner self in heart.
