CHAPTER 58 - I want to give up

Lucia was still sitting with Leona and she did not talk too much with him, more Leona who always first opened a chat with Lucia. Lucia did not know what to discuss with the woman, she just felt enough to answer what she asked.

Not long after Mickey returned after he finished talking to Dr. Brian. “Sorry wait long” said Mickey by approaching Leona and Lucia.

“It's okay, how about Dr. Brian?” ask Leona.

“I've asked Arka to take Dr back. Brian” Mickey replied.

“If so I also have to go because there is business that I have to finish” said Leona.

“Secap it?” ask Mickey.

Leona nodded and smiled. “iya, I'll call you later” she told Mickey.

Leona then looked back at Lucia. “There are many things I want to discuss with you, I will also contact you later. I hope you don't reject my call if you also care about her” Leona smiled and said goodbye.

“Looks like she's a good girl” murmured Lucia inwardly looking at Leona who was about to descend the stairs.

“Oh yes Lucia, tell Rayn about my arrival today and say also, don't be too hard to reject me, please, because it will only be in vain” he said then continued his footsteps followed by Mickey walking behind him.

Lusia simply replied with a smile then muttered back inwardly. “Reject? What does it mean to Ryan to refuse? Is it possible that my hunch is right if the woman.” Lucia said in her heart. “What do you care about Lucia, even if it turns out she is the woman who is destined for Rayn, instead it is more suitable” he continued.

Lucia entered Rayn's room, looking at Rayn who was still lying on her bed. “Just do your job Lusia, you just need to focus on him and keep your promise that will always be there for him” said Lucia talking to herself by grabbing water after she used to compress Rayn to be replaced with a new one.

Mickey enters Rayn's room looking for Lucia, but Lucia is still in Rayn's bathroom retrieving the Water she will use to wash Rayn. Lucy still daydreams in the bathroom thinking about what happened to Rayn even until she is unaware that the water is full.

"Lussia.." call Mickey.

“What she has returned” asked Lusia out of Rayn's private bathroom.

“Can we talk?” ask Mickey.

Lucia took a deep breath. “Of course” replied in a sad tone then put back the water he held. Mickey invites Lucia out of Rayn's room and talks her into Rayn's reading room.

“What really happened?” lusia asked without further ado as the question had already filled her head. Mickey began to tell me what happened when his father came to Villa.

#Flashback

After the 3rd Mission from the Cafe where Lusia works, Rayn gets a call from Mickey if his father is at the Villa with Leona.

At the villa, Rayn went straight to see her father. “You really came here, to look for him?” rayn asked his father who was staring at Lucia's room.

Since Rayn and her father's relationship was tenuous, Rayn never again called her father as father. He acts more like a subordinate who respects his superiors.

“Hi Rayn, long time no see” cut Leona say hello to Ryan.

Instead of answering Rayn's question, Rayn's father beckoned Alex to give Rayn a draft invitation.

"It seems like lately you've been preoccupied with the girl a lot" said the father leaving the front door of Lucia's room.

Rayn was surprised by the invitation Alex gave her. “Dad... what did dad do?” shouted Rayn.

“At a time like this you just called me dad? Do you have to do anything more extreme so you still look at me as a father? ” asked his father by sitting on the sofa. “Dad only helped you get it done quickly” he continued.

“What father up to have to do this ?” rayn asked with an angry look.

Rayn's father gave a draft invitation to a painting exhibition that was planned to be held on the birthday of Rayn's mother. It is clearly written if the exhibition is to commemorate the late wife by presenting artwork relics of the wife.

"The father who made you bury his dream, do you feel you still have a conscience by saying the exhibition is in memory of you?" ask Rayn.

“Hah” says Rayn with a grinning smile.

“Do you think I'll give you my painting?” tanyakanya.

“While you don't want to give me your painting, do you think your mother's painting is all yours?” ask Dad.

"How could you be this cruel?" rayn asked in a voice like a wail.

"Cruel?" ask her father back by crossing his legs.

“Say, what exactly does dad want from me?” ask Rayn. He knew that his father must have had other goals for what he was doing and it was more like a threat to him.

“Good if you understand, I still have not formalized the invitation but the exhibition will still be held. And like I said, I can make the exhibit yours.

“I don't need it” said Rayn without thinking long.

"But unfortunately I need you.. “ said his father.

“Do you think I'm a father's doll? What else do you want me to do? Until when will you keep playing me?" ask her with anger

“Don't forget you're the heir to the Anderson family, even if you don't want that, you're still the only one with the Anderson family lineage. I just want you to throw away the Lotus mask and become Anderson's heir" replied his father.

"Heir ...? Did you forget? Father who dumped me, father who exiled me and father..” Rayn held back her words, trying to breathe from the tightness she was feeling right now.

“Father that covers your son's existence from the world.” Rayn continued with trembling lips. “And now you want me to smile in front of the world by pretending to be a normal man in the exhibition?" rayn didn't believe what his father was doing.

"When your son needs you because you're the only one he has, what do you do? I take it like it never was, like it's a burden on your life. Now that he can survive without you, you came to your benefit by saying I'm your son. Do you think my life is just a game?" ask Rayn.

"If in the end you're just gonna use me as your doll, why should you stop the medication? Why did you let me live my life alone with that suffering? Why....!!! Why did you do it?” asked Rayn in a high tone.

Rayn's father remained calm. "Didn't Mickey encourage you to go back to treatment? But you refused, and now you're saying it's all dad's fault?" ask father.

“Do you ever want to know why I turned it down?" rayn asked with teary eyes.

"Because at that time I wanted to give up on my life" he continued.

“What did you say?” ask Rayn's dad.

“Do you know how desperate I have been all this time? Do you ever know if I can't make it to end my life? That treatment, who I'm doing it for while the only person I have doesn't want it. It was that thought that always pressured me to the point that it wanted to drive me crazy" Rayn said, clenching her hand. His voice trembled as he tried to hold back his tears in front of his father.

Rayn felt there was no point in doing treatment at Mickey's request while her own father ignored his recovery. He even attempted suicide by taking a lot of drugs and alcohol. All he did was destroy his body until finally Lucia came into his life by extending her hand.

Rayn's father got up from his seat, as if he did not want to hear any more of his son's words. "Dad gave you time until the day that the air fare was set about who the owner of the exhibition was. If you don't want me to intrude on your mother's memories, then you'll have to replace her by removing your Lotus mask. Like you said, if you think of yourself as just a doll, then it's time for me to take you to the stage" she said, leaving Rayn and Alex, Leona and some of her bodyguards.

Rayn's father indirectly threatens Rayn by using her mother's memories. He knew that it was not an option for his son but rather encouraged his son to reveal his identity as the heir of the Anderson family to the world.

"Don't you feel that's too cruel?" leona asked Rayn's father who was walking behind her. He had tried to refrain from interfering.

Hearing Leona's words, Rayn's father stopped his steps. "Is that what you're thinking too?" asked Rayn's father by turning to look at Leona.

Leona raises her chin to look at Rayn's father. "I did come at your request, but that doesn't mean I'm completely on your side. I will stop him, if it will only add to his suffering. I'm sorry if I was presumptuous, but I also have the right to decide" he said, then bowed first to Rayn's father.

Hearing Mickey's story, Lucia involuntarily drops her tears. Unbelieving, even after his father learns Rayn has tried to end his life, he continues to impose his ambition to reveal Rayn's identity as the son of the Anderson family heir by removing the Lotus mask.

Lucia enters Rayn's room, she approaches and grabs Rayn's hand. Lucia clasped her tighter by looking at Rayn's face. "I promise to help you heal not to be your father's puppet, but for your own life. The life that should be your own" Lucia said, leaning her head against Rayn's bed parallel to Rayn's head. He continued to look at Rayn who was still asleep until finally he fell asleep with Rayn by still holding her hand.
