CHAPTER 116 - Protecting It With My Way

Morning has welcomed, in a luxurious apartment residence, Lucia walked open the window curtain of the room where she stands today. Lucia looked at the beauty who was pampering her eyes after feeling tired from the long journey. He looked amazed at the density of the city down there filled with vehicles and passing between rows of tall skyscrapers.

Lucia seemed to enjoy the morning sunlight that entered through the window panes lined into her room, a light that made the room feel warm, bright, and very comfortable. Yes, a beautiful morning welcome with an atmosphere and a treat of scenery that is so very charming.

However, unfortunately this beauty is not the beauty of his country that he will be able to enjoy every morning. This beauty is but the beauty in the country of others. The country where his girlfriend Rayn Dean Anderson was born.

"I don't understand why he brought me all the way here but asked me to stay here instead of staying at his house" lusia complained, who was alone in the Presidential Suite of a star-rated Hotel.

Lucia is currently in Canada. How he suddenly got there was not a difficult question to answer. Of course bringing Lucia to Canada was not a difficult thing for Rayn. Rayn has asked Mickey to take care of everything so that Lucia and herself just need to enjoy a vacation together in Canada.

There, Rayn and Mickey sit back and enjoy a treat served by Chef Stephane Roth, a Chef they already know. In a familiar setting, Chef Stephane Roth presents his flagship menu of local produce that has a taste of nature to Rayn and Mickey.

"You haven't been here in a long time, but I can still serve you your favorite old-fashioned menu for nostalgia" said Chef Stephane Roth, who serves the dish in Rayn's and Mickey's shirts.

"Thank you Roth" Mickey said as he welcomed the food from Chef Stephane Roth's hands because Rayn had been quite restrained from his phobia since Chef Roth's arrival at his desk.

Rayn can only say hello by throwing a smile at Chef Roth before Chef Roth returns to the kitchen.

"You left Lucia alone in her room just to see me?" mickey asked Rayn while cutting the meat he was about to eat.

"Don't mention if it's his room while I'll never take it as his room" Rayn said with a serious look at Mickey who was about to put food in his mouth.

Rayn's sharp gaze made Mickey undo his mouthful and put the fork back on the plate. He was well aware of Rayn's insinuations just now, Mickey fell silent. Like having an amazing bond between two people, Rayn complained about the same thing as Lucia's complaint to Mickey.

It turns out that the mistake was not based on Rayn's decision, but everything was a plan that had been arranged by Mickey. Why Lucia and Rayn had to stay in a hotel while Rayn had her own home in Canada. That's what Rayn's questioning right now.

Rayn had originally planned that when she returned to Canada she would bring Lucy back to her private home, the Anderson family residence. Such a large and spacious residence would certainly not be possible to lack a room just for a Lucian. But Mickey bans Rayn from returning home and sets up a hotel for both of them while in Canada.

It may still be reasonable and acceptable if the ban is for Lucia, but it also applies to Rayn. "Do you need to go that far?" ask Rayn.

Mickey asks Rayn not to worry or be bothered with the people he sends. Mickey makes sure that they will keep their distance and be completely invisible until Rayn and Lucia will not notice. However, however, Mickey emphasizes to Rayn if there is an incident that feels threatening, then his people will still immediately do their duties as instructed by him without giving any sign.

Rayn wanted to know why Mickey suddenly did all that. Rayn came to Canada every year, but Mickey never did anything like this. He was sure that this was not because he was currently coming with Lucia.

Mickey paused for a moment then broke down a smile and returned to talking casually. "I feel hurt, what's a million things called love that make you realize that I haven't been back in a long time?" mickey switched their conversation again.

Rayn looked at Mickey with a serious look. Highlight his eyes asked Mickey to answer his question. Mickey sighed and went back to eating his meal.

"Don't worry, I'll finish it. Just enjoy your time and I'll make sure nothing happens to you while you're here" Mickey replied.

"Mickey, you know if that doesn't answer my question?" ask Rayn.

"Aahh, and also about the ban on why you can't go home, it's not because your father kicked you out, boy! Do you still not understand if all this is for your safety?" mickey is still diverting the conversation.

"You already know if I've never had any other breakfast food other than.." Rayn said still with the same facial expression.

"Yes, yeah, yeah, I know" Mickey cut.

Rayn grunts harshly at Mickey's attitude, who doesn't answer his questions about what's going on in Canada until it requires Rayn and Lucia to stay at the hotel and get a tight escort.

"If what happened here would also threaten Lucia, surely I would immediately bring her back. But, after that do not forbid me to come back here again to interfere" said Rayn.

Mickey put down his cutlery, wiped his mouth and gulped the wine on his desk. Mickey sighed then spoke seriously to Rayn. "Give me a chance to finish it. Trust me, I'm begging you Rayn" asked Mickey.

This time Mickey really said it with a serious look. Mickey isn't ready to tell Rayn the fact that his father is still alive. This is why Mickey can't ban Rayn from coming to Canada, he has no reason to do so.

Even though his father is still behind prison bars, but Mickey believes that his father must have connections outside the prison that could have threatened Rayn or even threatened Lucia who has now become a valuable person for Rayn.

No one knew where and what Charles Dean Anderson was like. It is better to let Rayn be a foreigner while in Canada.

Rayn was silent, he just looked at Mickey with a stifled angry look and then put on a flat face as if he was okay with Mickey's decision to remain silent.

"I have to go back, Lucia is definitely waiting for me" said Rayn standing up and leaving behind a meal she did not touch at all.

Rayn left Mickey alone there. Mickey just quietly let Rayn go, he then gulped back the wine to finish it with one drink. Mickey bowed after sighing so long.

Despite not getting an answer from Mickey, Rayn already knows if this must have something to do with the perpetrator of his mother's murder.

"*Until when will you bear it alone*. You're free to do whatever you want to protect me. But, I will also do whatever I want in my own way to protect myself and him" Rayn said, speaking alone as she walked out of the restaurant

At the hotel, Lucia was putting her makeup on. He had previously received a message from Rayn asking him to get ready because Rayn was on her way to pick him up.  Not long before someone rang the bell. Lucia rushed out of her room. He locked the door guard and opened the door.

"Ryan" said Lucia smiling.

Rayn's eyes were fixed on the door holder that Lucia had locked. Lucia closed the door back to remove the door holder before opening it again for Rayn.

"Seeing so quickly you open the door means you have no suspicions at all about who's coming. I admit you were quite wary of opening it after locking the door. But, if the threat comes with a gun pointed at, you still won't survive" Rayn said as she entered.

"Who else would have come to see me here if not you?" asked Lucia who did not take Rayn's words seriously.

Rayn stopped her steps and turned to look at Lucia. "You have to stay alert wherever it is especially when I'm not with you" Rayn said with a serious face.

Lucia was just silent listening to Rayn's chatter. "Well... are we playing the Canadian trailer?" chirp Lusia while smiling seduces Rayn.

Rayn let out a long sigh, she realized that she should not have shown her anxiety to Lucia. Rayn changed the look of her serious face with such a sweet smile.

"Of course not.." said Rayn as she extended her hand. "Are you ready? because we will play a real romance drama" continued Rayn said holding Lucia.

Rayn will take Lucia to go for a walk to enjoy the beauty of Canada both. Yes, they just need to enjoy that time together without worrying about anything.

"Nobody can hurt you. Whoever it is, I'm not gonna let him touch my woman. I will not allow myself to repeat the same mistake a second time. "
