Rayn and Lucia finally go back to visit Lucia's father. Arriving there, precisely in front of the patient room 503, Lucia stood up hesitantly. He looked like he was preparing himself for everything that was going to happen. Maybe his father will ignore him again or at worst what happened yesterday will happen again.
Rayn approached, he grabbed onto Lucia's shoulder and grabbed her. "I'm here" said Rayn, smiling.
Lucia turned her head and looked at her husband's face, Rayn's presence with her had certainly given her own strength to Lucia. Lucia took a deep breath and then stopped her, slowly opening the door.
Pintuk open, in the room looks like Mother Lusia who is combing the hair of the father. A warm smile of Lucia's mother unravels welcoming the arrival of her daughter and daughter-in-law. "Come here." call him.
Lucia took her first steps while smiling. Right beside the father who was sitting quietly in the wheelchair, Lucia greeted him by calling out to him. "Dad, I. Your daughter is coming" she said standing holding a container of food she was carrying.
But unfortunately, Lucia had to endure the tightness that was like slicing her heart. Lucia's father did not give any response, he just kept silent with a blank look without looking at his daughter's face. However, Lucia smiled and grabbed her father's hand. Lucia's mother tried to talk to her husband, saying that if his daughter came to bring him breakfast. But everything was still the same, her husband did not give any response.
Lucy's mother grabbed onto Lusia's shoulder and stroked her slowly. He asks Lucia to be more patient and understand her father's condition. Not wanting to make her mother anxious, Lucia threw a smile and said if she was okay, it was not her father's fault for treating her like that.
Lucia immediately turned to put an end to the sad atmosphere, she asked her mother to take her father to the park. Lucia came to bring food for them to have breakfast together. Rayn has prepared tables and chairs for them to enjoy togetherness under the bright morning sunshine that is so warm and cool the morning breeze is refreshing.
All the food he brought was now on the table. Lucia made the atmosphere as if they were having a picnic. Rayn helped Lucia prepare everything to be presented perfectly. Lucia's mother came in her father's wheelchair.
Rayn waved to her two in-laws who were walking towards her. He then approached Lucia while wiping the sweat that flowed on the forehead of his beloved wife. "I will wait, enjoy the fresh air there" Rayn said after completing all her tasks.
Rayn, who still suffers from haphepobia, certainly cannot join them. He chose to sit on a bench under a tree not far from their table. "Why are you sitting there, you should join. I'll get you another seat and you can sit next to me" Lucia asked.
Rayn held back the hand of Lucia who was about to go take a seat. Rayn asks Lucia not to worry about her. "I'm fine, focus on your mom and dad. It's a moment you can't get every day, so I don't want to keep your focus divided by taking care of me. I'll wait for you" Rayn explained.
Lucia grabbed Rayn's hand, she already understood Rayn very well. If Rayn had already decided then Lucia could no longer force. Lucia could only say an apology. "I'm sorry Rayn"
"Don't apologize, because I don't want to lose either. In exchange I will still charge for my own time with you later" Rayn said with a smile and asked Lucia to return to her father and mother.
Thanks to Rayn's support, Lucia can realize her dream of being able to picnic with her father and mother who she had missed since a dozen years ago. Although her father still did not recognize her, however, Lucia felt very happy. For him, what he got now was enough.
While waiting, Rayn seemed to enjoy the view of the surrounding park filled with some beautiful flowers that were blooming. Rayn's gaze stopped on an elderly person who was sitting alone while staring at the flowers nearby.
Rayn got up from her seat, walked over to the elderly woman. Lucia turned her head and looked at Rayn who left her seat but she could only ignore her because her father was currently willing to take a bribe from her.
Rayn approached and greeted the elderly woman. "Do you like the flowers?" ryan asked and sat down on the other bench facing the granny bench.
Grandma Wuri, yes her name is Wuri. The name was clearly written on the clothes he was wearing. Grandma Wuri looked very eager to pluck the flower stalk she saw, but her hand was restrained and hesitated.
Rayn rose from her seat and plucked her without sin. Rayn then placed the flower next to Grandma Wuri sitting down. "This is for you" he said.
But Grandma Wuri just stared at what Rayn had done. "If the nurse is here asking or maybe scolding you, just say if you just pick it up. Tell them I picked it up and left it here" he said, then returned to his seat.
Grandma Wuri was still silent, she did not answer and just looked at Rayn who gave the flower but chose to sit far away from her. Through his eyes, Rayn beckoned Grandma Wuri to pick it up. Rayn knew that right now the grandmother must be looking at her with a strange thought.
Rayn smiled and then reached for her hand and looked at her fingers. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to be disrespectful, but I suffer from pain where I can't get a touch from others" Rayn explained, looking back at the elderly woman sitting in front of him.
"Is this young man also a patient here?" Finally Grandma Wuri spoke to Rayn.
Grandma Wuri smiled and then grabbed the flowers given by Rayn, she inhaled the fragrance of the flowers while breaking a smile that describes if she was very happy. Rayn also smiled to see the smile on Grandma Wuri's face. He can feel that happiness too.
"Why are you sitting here alone, when I see others together ?" ask Rayn.
Grandma Wuri looked around, looking at the other patients who were chatting with fellow patients or their families who were visiting. "Even though grandma went to join them today, shared life experiences or just joked around, it would only be a past wind moment that could not be remembered. Grandma will be back feeling alone tomorrow or maybe even before the day changes."
Rayn did not seem to understand the words of the grandmother. But before Rayn asked, Grandma Wuri continued her words and gave a response that touched Rayn's heart.
"Grandmother suffers from Alzheimer's. At the age of the grandmother who is getting older, the sooner the grandmother will forget everything that has just happened" continued Grandma Wuri.
Grandma Wuri suffers from a brain disease that causes memory loss, decreased ability to think and speak, and behavioral changes. Grandma Wuri did not want to add any burden to the other patients close to her. Even though they were together and spent time today, the next morning Grandma Wuri will again feel alone because she will no longer remember what she has gone through.
"Is that why you hesitate to pick the flower?" ask Rayn.
Grandma Wuri stared at Rayn. He did not expect the young man sitting in front of him at this moment to be able to so quickly understand his feelings. Rayn was right, the reason Grandma Wuri hesitated to pluck the flower she wanted was because in the end she would forget about her satisfaction when picking the flower. Tomorrow he will not remember it, will even feel hurt because he lost the flower somewhere.
"Regardless of the reason, thank you for picking it up for grandma. But, when Rayn's son realized that Grandma was hesitant to pick him, why would Rayn pick him?" ask Grandma Wuri.
Rayn turned her head, looking towards Lucia who was with her mother and father-in-law. "Grandmother, you see that beautiful woman over there, she's my wife. Like the way I get and love her, I won't let any doubt plague my heart. The wall of doubt, I will certainly destroy" Rayn said, staring at Lucia.
"Such as that is also what I will neglect to pursue and get the happiness I want. Even if the happiness I pursue will ultimately only be a momentary happiness, I will still do it without hesitation because I do not want to regret it. I don't care, even if it's just a short happiness."
"Just like how I felt when I picked the flower, I hope you will feel and do the same. Although you will forget everything, even if it is only a moment of satisfaction and happiness that you will forget, never hold it back. Don't miss it, let you feel the part you won't regret."
Grandma Wuri again smelled the scent of flowers in her hand and gently felt each flower crown. He enjoyed the beauty of the Gardenia flower and put the flower back on the bench right where Rayn put it. Wuri's grandmother asks Rayn to take it because the flower is now given to Rayn.
Rayn asks why Grandma Wuri gave the flower to her. Grandma Wuri gave an answer to what she had learned from Rayn just now. "Didn't Rayn say don't hold him back? Now the grandmother has got the happiness of the grandmother because she got this flower. Although grandma will not remember it but nenak do not want to regret because grandmother did not abandon this flower. So take Nak Rayn" Grandma Wuri asked Rayn.
Rayn got up from her seat, suddenly a nurse came and asked Grandma Wuri to return to her room. Grandma Wuri followed the nurse who was waiting for her. Before leaving Rayn, Grandma Wuri thanked Rayn. He said that although he might forget what happened at this time and forget Rayn, he was happy now. "Grandmother will continue to be happy and will no longer miss it even though the happiness will be forgotten. Grandma will no longer hold him." said Grandma Wuri and left Rayn.
Rayn grabbed the bungan that Grandma Wuri left behind. Simultaneously, Rayn heard Lucia calling her name and walking towards her while waving her hand. "Rayn.." call him.
Rayn looked at Lucia who was walking towards her with a happy face. With such a beautiful smile Lucia again waved her hand. Rayn looked at the bungan in her hand and then looked back at Lucia while unraveling a smile.
Rayn spread out her armour where one hand was still holding the gardenia flower. He greeted Lucia with a hug.
"I will never miss the slightest happiness with you. I'm not gonna hold it. I will break all the walls of doubt that limit me to touch your heart. There is not a single moment that I want to regret, therefore I will not hold it" Rayn said in her heart.
