The next day. I'm back to my frenzy at work. I immediately copied all the meetings onto my computer and called Nicko's partner to make an appointment.

Then my office phone rang.

“Hallo”

“Ke my room now”

“Iya” answered me after I found out it was from Nicko.

Then I immediately closed my book and entered her room.

“Now I have a sudden meeting, please prepare the file I have sent to your email”

“Oke” answer me briefly.

“Today we will go to PT. Prawira”

My eyes widened to hear of a company that was so shocking to me.

“Let's you arrange another meeting of mine next, now we must go there immediately, this is our great opportunity, because the company proposed a very big cooperation”

I was still stuck in my place. My eyes are still round hearing Ben's parents' company mention Nicko.

“Fawnia” call Nicko to wake me up from daydreams.

“Ya” I say with a confused face.

“Why are you quiet?” Ask her.

I shake my head clumsily.

“I prepared the file first” replied me with a face still clumsy, then immediately go from Nicko's room and run the order from my Boss.

I sit so limp in my chair. My breath became so heavy, my chest felt claustrophobic considering how I was being pushed by the Ben family, and how hard it was for me to no longer deal with them. And now, again I have to deal with them.

I was silent for so long by squeezing both of my hands which started to sweat. I was really scared, but I should be as professional as possible. I can't possibly tell Nicko about Ben's family. I'm afraid a lot of questions from her will only corner me eventually to Kara.

I try to calm myself down, I have to be strong and I have to be able to. I don't know what's gonna happen there when I get back to meeting Ben's parents. I wish they could pretend they didn't know me and act as professionally as I do.

Nicko and I went straight from the office to PT. Prawira, where Ben's parents were.

I tried to calm down, but it was hard. Because I still remember very well, how the two Ben's parents hated me so much that they wanted to take custody of Kara. Until I finally have to reveal the truth about Kara.

“Why you?” Ask Nicko again in the car. He looked at me with a suspicious look.

“You sick?” Ask her.

I shook my head.

“Just a little headache” answered me by trying to be okay.

Nicko kept silent but looked at me suspiciously.

“Please us until” said Bima who stopped her car in front of a building door that was no less large than the building owned by Nicko.

I kept holding a note and file for our meeting materials later. I walked behind Nicko and followed him all the way inside. My face kept bowing behind Nicko, my heart was beating faster and faster.

I saw, old man Ben from afar. They were talking to some of their officers.

“That's Mr. Ferdyan” an employee of his told Papa Ben.

They all went to Nicko and welcomed him so well. Mama Ben also welcomed Nicko with a smile so friendly. They still haven't noticed my presence behind Nicko.

I kept my breath in order to look calmer.

“Pak Ferdy, welcome to our company” Papa Ben said as he shook Nicko's hand.

“Good day Mr. Bowo” reply Nicko.

“Good afternoon Mr. Ferdy. Irene the wife of Mr. Bowo” said Mama Ben introduced himself.

“Ferdyan Nickolas” reply while shaking Mama Ben's hand.

“How was her trip?”

“Currently, no barriers”

“Sgratitude”

“Yesterday I had a chance to talk first with Mr. Rio, and he said that everything was handed over to this Ferdy” son said Papa Ben still did not realize my presence.

“Ya Papa just said it this morning, so I'm in a hurry here”

“Oh yes. And this is my secretary” her word introduces me to Ben's parents.

My heart was pounding more and more as Nicko shifted his body and tried to show me to everyone in front of him.

With all my courage, I showed my face to Ben's parents who were immediately shocked to see myself in front of them again, after our last meeting at his house that time.

“You!” Call Mama Ben with wide eyes, making Nicko confused to hear Mother Irene seem to know me.

Mama and Papa Ben were still very surprised to see me alive and standing in front of them.

“You work for Mr Ferdy?” Mama Ben asked, sounding objected.

“Betul” answered me with a smile but the feeling was still afraid.

“Mother Irene knows Fawnia?” Nicko asked with a frown.

Mama Ben's eyes were so slurred staring at me as if still holding a grudge.

“Sure I know her. Because she's the ex-wife of my son” answered her so cynically staring at me.

But I tried to calm down and not look him in the eye. Papa Ben could only be silent.

Nicko looked at me confused, maybe he wondered why I didn't tell him about it before.

“Sorry Mr. Ferdy. I just want to know, why can you hire him as a secretary in your company? Did Mr Ferdy not know about his prior case that he was having?” Said Mama Ben trying to discuss my problem first with Nicko.

“He once destroyed a business that my son Ben had built. And he even ran away with client money. Hasn't his track record been so bad for a big company like Mr Ferdy's?”

I'm still holding myself back on all the charges that I never actually made. But Mama Ben just believes all the lies made by the public because she basically hates me.

Nicko raised his one halis hearing this woman could so widely expose my problems.

“I know about the news. But I also believe, if it wasn't Fawnia who did her” Nicko tried to defend me.

“How can you just trust? There are still many other lies that he turned out to hide from us so far Pak” Tanya Mama Ben sounded once still holds so much grudge against me.

“What lie?” Nicko asked trying to lure Mama Ben to talk.

I'm getting cornered, I don't know what to do. Mama Ben will definitely expose everything, including the matter about Kara.

“He's a liar. Even his marriage was made like a game”, he said so vile.

I looked at Mama Ben in panic with eyes that started to glaze over.

Nicko continued to look at Mama Ben curiously, he allowed Mama Ben to continue to open his voice.

“Sorry Sir. But indeed he has used my son to be able to marry his”, he said back dramatically telling stories in front of everyone who was there.

“He used Ben's kindness to want to marry him, but my son did not necessarily want to marry a woman like him. And because of him, I lost my only child!”

“Ma is enough!” I told him to stop him from continuing to bring up that dark time.

“Stop calling me Mama because I'm not your in-law anymore!” His words are so cruel.

“And she even lied to us about her pregnancy” continued Mama Ben made me even more surprised and looked at her in panic.

“She could ask Ben to marry her while she is already pregnant with another man”

Like a lightning bolt, my heart was so broken hearing what Mama Ben said to Nicko. Mama Ben has revealed my big secret to Nicko.

“After pregnancy?” Nicko's question confirmed Mama Ben's words.

“Iya. She is pregnant with someone else but she has the heart to ask Ben who is in charge, what is his name if shameless?” Caci Mama Ben by looking at me hatefully.

I clenched my hands together, to endure this pain. Nicko seemed to remember something and digest something that had made him think hard.

“Where do you know if she's pregnant not because of your child?” Nicko asked to solve the problem to complete the puzzle that he might have been putting in his mind.

Mama Ben looked at Nicko doubtfully.

“Ma has” pinta her husband by holding both shoulders so that his wife can be calmer, but Mama Ben continues to look at me with anger and ignore all those who are watching us.

“Because my son has an illness that causes him not to be able to have a child. Isn't that Fawnia?” mama Ben finally made Nicko round his eyes.

My tears suddenly dripped down my cheek, and made me recall that dark time. My body shook because finally all the secrets I had been keeping from Nicko had been revealed.

Nicko seemed to think of something, he thought so hard, as if he remembered something so big. Then she turned her body and looked at me so deeply. I looked into Nicko's eyes in fear, I was afraid he was asking me something I didn't want to hear. We kept looking at him in a while.

“Who is the father of Caramel ?” Nicko asked finally in a sharp tone.

My mouth is open but I cannot speak. I was breathing so deeply and holding back my tears. My mouth suddenly locked could not answer Nicko's question so heavy, but Nicko's gaze was so clear he wanted to know the answer to his question. I was so panicked and scared, I quickly left those who were still clustered to see the dramatic events they were watching and ended up after I left.

I quickly ran out of the office and stopped the taxi that was about to pass in front of me and got into the car and locked the door.

“Where to Mbak?” Ask the taxi driver was wasting time, making Nicko manage to chase me and bang on the window of this taxi car.

“Fawnia out!” Pinta Nicko is so scary.

“Jalan only sir, later I tell” pinta I hurry and ignore Nicko who keeps trying to open the car door.

“Fawnia please! Out of mobil”

“Pak jalan just” pinta ku to taxi driver who was surprised to see the person who kept banging on his car window.

Then the taxi I was riding in finally drove away leaving Nicko who stood in his place and continued to stare at my taxi car until it disappeared from his sight.
