Chapter 85 This Is Not Your Place to Talk
Fearing that the slightest movement would wake Matthew up, Zayn made no plans in advance. All he had in mind was to swallow the Odello Corp all at once.
It was shocking when Matthew grabbed the thick piece of meat that was already in his mouth and ready to eat in just one night.
This led to Neve being brutally beaten with sandals this morning.
“I'm helping you all with everything I have and even when my family asks me to eat with you when I have the chance, I'm not doing it because of you. And this is how you all treat me? See me as a fraud and trample all my goodness ?! ”
Zayn's urgent questions jolted Neve. He felt guilty because he didn't know what was going on. After leaving Zayn, he went looking for Matthew .
"Dad, why did you withdraw the sales and funds to Odelle Corp. once again? Are you being stupid?"
Instead of being angry at Neve's question, Matthew seemed somewhat victorious.
"I? A fool? Your father was stupid.”
When Matthew explained the reason, the corner of Neve's lips formed a happy smile.
"It's not a bad thing. It is less worrying and safer. It's a little difficult to calm Zayn.”
Matthew waved his hand. "It's okay, he'll understand our situation. Moreover, we can cooperate in other ways in the future!”
While Matthew and Neve were talking, Jade and Javier were in the office discussing what happened last night.

This is good news. Then Javier asks Jade how John managed to calm Matthew down.

Javier is skeptical but he doesn't push him because Jade insists that there's nothing. After all, it was Odell's family business. This may involve certain personal issues that Jade does not wish to disclose.
Javier stopped asking and left Jade's office after a short chat.
That night, Odello Corp. held an executive-level meeting. Javier was not among the top executives, so he could not attend the meeting but he managed to hear some gossip.
"Jade's time as chairman was quite short. Only a few days will pass and the old man will take it back from him.”
The unexpected gossip surprised Javier. He doesn't understand it. Jade owns 64% of the company. How did John get the seat?
Intrigued, she came to Jade's office only to find Jade packing with tears in her eyes. He quickly wiped it and pretended nothing had happened when he saw Javier enter—until he asked about the change of seats. Knowing that he could not hide it anymore, he spilled the beans.
“After we went home last night, grandfather told me that the stakeholders in the company were restless and no one besides him could calm them down ..”
John tells Jade that he wants to ask Matthew for 26% of the shares he owns, worried that his son will continue to cause trouble if he keeps hold of it. But Matthew resolutely refused and even compared what he had to the 64% stake Jade owned.
In such a situation, John asks Jade to act with him and transfer to him the 64% he has so he can trick Matthew into giving up 26%. Jade agreed without hesitation as this was her biological grandfather who had always spoiled her.
Javier understands now. That's why Jade didn't say anything this morning when she asked how John persuaded Matthew. It was not that he wanted to keep it a secret from her. It was because he chose to trust John because of their family relationship. Anyone would do the same. After all, he was his biological grandfather.
No one thought grandfather would do the most difficult to deceive his grandson!
Jade shed tears as she talked about it. “He's my grandfather! I am his blood! How could he do this to me!"
Javier was angry too. He had never met anyone so disgusting that they would only make a request to their granddaughter and not waste time deceiving her. Grabbing Jade's hand, Javier pulls her into John's office.
After Javier kicked the door open, he saw John sitting on a chair and chatting happily with Matthew. Pointing a finger at Jade, he asked, “Why was he fired? Give me an explanation!”
The question was addressed to John but the answer was Matthew. "Who do you think you are to come and question us like this? Out!"
Matthew seemed to win and be happy.
Looking at his expression, Javier understood a little what John was thinking.
“You have two granddaughters but only one son. So it's okay to let them down, as long as it's not your son, right?”
Scolded on the spot by Javier, John is restless in awkwardness. He got up and looked at Jade.” Jade, don't worry. I still love you.
