The Hero
Chapter 299 I Want Them to Live

Javier walks into his villa and accompanies Jade as he discusses home decorating with the team of designers they employ. He had already started to forget about the incident that had just happened a few minutes ago. It was so trivial to him that he would not waste any effort by caring

But it's not trivial for Victoria. After getting back up with the help of his own anger, he growled at his parents for a while before putting on his mask and glasses back and leaving. As he passed Boulder Bear, the anger of his defeat came back to him, and he swung a loud swing to **********Boulder Bear.

Had this overpriced and useless piece of crap defeated that *sshat to be a sobbing porridge from the start, he would never have needed to reveal his identity and be canceled!

He turned around and left, not even stopping to look back at his mistreated mother and confused father. The old woman cupped her cheeks, holding back tears as she asked in a quivering voice, “What? He yelled at me. He...raised his hand towards me!”

Her husband could only comfort her by begging for patience. “Let him alone. Victoria's rich, remember? And he was always like this, even back then. Just hold.”

It was painful to hear her partner telling her to bear the weight of their daughter's slap. Ever since her daughter became rich, the old woman had never experienced any difficulties before. He has been a bully, never bothered. Little did she know she had to suffer through the physical abuse of her daughter today!

It was a horrible and bad feeling to experience. It felt like a ball of pure heartache and anger that could not get out of his chest, just because his daughter was the one who gave him the means to live in comfort and excess. No matter how sultry she felt, she had no way to repay him.

But God knows how irritated and frustrated he feels over that slap on his face!

Victoria Loesch didn't come home that night. Instead, he bought a ticket and flew straight to Medb. He is determined to persuade Lloyd and change his mind, and the only negotiation tactic he thinks of involves both getting naked and sweating.

Oh, he remembers his face money being rejected, but he has to try again.

The plan soon failed. He could barely use his charm on Lloyd— that guy wouldn't even want to see it. Undaunted and desperate, Victoria waited outside the company until ten p.m., forcing Lloyd to face her as she walked out of the entrance, on her way home.

While her driver took her car, Victoria used the little time she had and threw herself at him, rubbing her skin against his skin without any buildup. “Aww, please, Lloyd! I made a small mistake, I know. I shouldn't have offended your friend. I know that now, and I'm sorry! Can't you help us fix it a little bit? I don't even want any special help - I just want what I used to have back. My old job and everything I have, you know? Please, I beg of you! I will accompany you tonight - nothing is off limits! I will do anything!”

The implication is about one mention of handcuffs that is not explicit, but that doesn't matter. Lloyd is not interested.

He waved, pushing the woman away from him and regaining his personal space. “He's not my friend-he's my boss. He was the one who decided if I was getting paid for my work. You offended our master, and now you are begging for my help. In which universe would I say yes? reply Lloyd. “I have to hand it to you, Victoria. You always know the direct way to the big one, even when it comes to upsetting people. So, congratulations! You just hit the jackpot.”

His journey stopped right in front of them just in time. Lloyd got inside and the car swerved into the horizon, leaving Victoria's hair billowing in a cloud of dust.

Damnit. He once, through a grapevine, heard that there was a stronger man behind their boss. His name - if not wrong - is Javier Kersey….

Victoria has never met their mysterious and larger-than-life benefactor. Life had not given him that chance before, and no one in his circle knew him enough to introduce him to her, let alone help him get the strong man's help. He had never seen it before.

He has met her fine. He had met her and offended her in one meeting, and now the all-powerful boss had gone to great lengths to destroy her.

Victoria was furious. “God... huh! Fuck those! The two old farts that wasted that time had just offended him! They can really anger others in this world, but no, they want to fuck my boss! Fuck those! Arrghhhhh!”

After the rampage, Victoria gloomily returned to her home, looking disappointed.

Victoria considered all her options. Right now, while he could still rely on his fame and popularity, he had to immediately find a new boss. That way, she can free herself from her bond with Lloyd and prevent her acting career from falling and burning, right?

The more he thought about it, the more his voice sounded. Aided by the explosion of purpose, Victoria quickly called every other entertainment company she knew.

“You want me to hunt you down? Miss Loesch, are you kidding me? Please do yourself a favor and check the internet? You've gone viral, and I don't mean that in a good way.

Victoria was confused, so she did as she was told. That's when he found out about his company's apology on his official Twitter account. Apparently, the company was "apologizing" for signing Victoria under their label without checking her historical background. According to their investigation, the young woman used to work as an underage illegal prostitute. Photos of him performing his old profession have been exposed online.

Victoria's surprised. He was eighteen at the time and he needed fast money, so he worked at a club that served drinks for months. Some of his businesses include prostitution. This job earned him some money, and from then on, he turned his back on his past. He had even spent a lot of money to buy solitude from those in the know, so how could this part of his past come back to haunt him now?!

However, it might be too late for him to care about who the whistleblower was or why they decided to reveal it. Those questions become irrelevant when he sees an online consensus.

Everyone wants him out of the entertainment business. Everyone canceled it.

Victoria Loesch has been dead to the industry ever since, and there's no way she can revive her career again.

Javier and Jade stayed in Clouston for two days, choosing the perfect furniture and decor for their home. After finishing everything, they returned. There is almost no reason for them to stay in Clouston after shopping for fumiture. After all, the villa would take some time before it was worth living in, while their company had yet to move into its new city. A bit of work in the office awaits Jade's supervision and authorization as well, so the two of them must return to their normal lives.

The next time Javier meets Lloyd to take care of work, it's been almost a month. It was then that he managed to hear about Victoria's current state.

“Do you not know that! She's a very popular destination at the Grand Goldhill Hotel now. Choice platinum girl, I've heard. 800 dollars a night!”

Javier chuckles. “Isn't she a woman ***** expensive. Two months doing the job and he might even buy himself something made of pure gold.”

He never cared so much about her. Naturally, he insisted on not letting it escape, but he did not want to destroy his livelihood completely. He does what he always does very well - Javier will allow him to do that much.

A month later, the company's headquarters moved to its new building in Clouston. Javier and Jade also move into their new home. Everything went smoothly as planned, and life returned to its tracks almost instantly. Jade is busy with her work, and Javier has his own business to take care of.

Liam called to let him know that the development of the hydrogen-powered system had been completed. All you have to do is make a few small calibrations. Trevor's report also got to his ear: The cooperation with the Heisenberg Group was a success, and production of their prototype was already going fast. They aim to produce five prototypes for now.

This will be one of many key points, and Javier is determined to check it out in person. After all, it would be the first car he ever "made".

He said goodbye to Jade. As Herschel drove him to the airport, he read the files they sent him in the back seat. They will arrive at their destination when he receives a message from Faye, Chessie's loyal bodyguard.

Javier's confused. Why would someone like him to send him a message? Intrigued, he unlocked his phone and read the message.

Surprise and wrath consumed him as soon as his brain recorded those three words. "Chessie's been shot."
