Chapter 56 A New Boss Is Coming to Town

Zayn made two more calls after that, but Jade turned them all down. He was just about to hang up his phone to take her away when he saw a new message from her. His words seemed to be a matter of concern.

'Push me all you want, but do you really want to see your grandfather's life and soul destroyed at the hands of an incompetent person in his field?'

It was a punch under the belt that pierced deep into Jade's chest, right where it was most painful.

She had grown up with Grandpa since she was a child, so the depth of their emotional bond could not be underestimated. He was saddened to see Odello Corp., the thing that his grandfather had devoted himself to, become rubble in the hands of his useless uncle.

That's why he has to do it. He should be the head of Drakon Real Estate.

" that doesn't change anything! Just because I've held a leadership position doesn't mean I depend on it. If he thinks he can get me married to him, he has a better chance of dreaming it in his sleep!” Jade declares loudly as soon as she returns to the company and finds Javier.

His words got a smile from him. "You did the right thing. You have to take over. ”

Jade nodded. “Well, that's it, isn't it? This place is yours now. I should focus on Drakon Real Estate.”

“Wait, alone? You will be plucked, squeezed to dry, chewed, and then spit out. I'd be surprised if it didn't happen to you!” she refused. "Zayn's bad intentions are obvious, okay? He pretends to help you while setting traps and plotting in the dark, and then he goes back to being a good guy who does nothing but help you. He also did not need to put in much effort into acting, as he had Matthew as the driving force the entire time! What left him?  Full-time work is the face of everything. To be honest, how can you beat Double Trouble, right?”

Jade looked at him with helpless gloom. "good. So, I'm not the most understanding person, and I'm certainly not as smart or bright as you. But I can also know who's the bad guys, you know. But I don't have a choice, do I? We can't leave Beacon Tire for a new job. We can ask others to replace me, but I do not trust others.”

Javier dropped himself on the sofa and thought for a moment before shaking his head. “That's it. I don't think it's safe to leave you alone to do this, so I'm coming with you. As for Ban Beacon, I will find someone to take over, okay? ”

Meanwhile, in the car that was heading straight for the hospital, the furious Neve Odell scowled to her worst face, and her eyes sharply turned their eyes away from Matthew, who was sitting next to her.

The old man did not give up. "Come, my dear daughter! Don't be mad, okay? You wouldn't think I wanted to hand Drakon over to the girl, would you? It was all Zayn's idea! He tries to take heart of himself with her by doing this, princess! What else can I do? Tell me? You know that's not an option! We need Dunham to support our company!

"Think like this, okay? This is for Odello Corp., my dear. It's for a future where we control Odell, so we all have to make a small sacrifice for him, okay?”

The explanation begged Matthew to explain Neve's situation, but it didn't really quell the anger in him, “But still! Why is Jade the only one who deserves this marriage?! Why can't I be his choice too? How do I lose to her in terms of beauty, muscle, breasts, or buttocks? How could I be worse, huh? This doesn't make sense!”

Matthew felt a little helpless and did his best to calm him down, “Listen, I understand what you are saying and I agree with you, princess. In an ideal world, you would be the one the Dunham family wanted as their bride! But, yeah, that's the problem, baby. Zayn wants Jade and only Jade. He doesn't like you that way, you know? What can I do  ?  "

His father's attempts to appease him only highlight what he hates most. A moment of frowning silence later, a twinkle suddenly flashed in his eyes. “Dad, didn't you tell me before we got into the car that Zayn was just pretending to help Jade? He's actually on our side and he's trying to take him down, isn't he?” She asked. "I have a plan. What if I go out and defeat the bad guy myself?

“It would be a perfect double blow! I will do what Zayn wanted me to do all this time and show my skills and abilities! There's no way he won't notice me later! Maybe if she finally realized how beautiful and sexy I am, besides being more capable than that arrogant Jade.”.

He was behind, but there was enough context for his father to understand his plan.

His eyes sparkled with a twinkle that matched his daughter's. "Yes God. My baby girl is a genius. If you make Zayn notice you and impress her enough that you two become a couple, we will become so powerful and influential that your father will become the head of the family!”

Neve nodded excitedly. "That's right, Dad! After everything is said and done, we'll fix that scene until he recovers and.to avenge Kendrick!”.

Three days later, at Beacon Tires, there was a new boss in town named Chad Floyd McCool  .

Chad is no ordinary man. Although he was only in his forties, he managed to earn a certain level of privilege and respect from the Kersey family. According to the most willing and most astute family watchers, Chad is the kind of miracle that will soar to absolute glory and make great achievements in less than ten years. He will be primo uno at the helm of the Kersey family business empire.

A Formula 1 driver for the job, which is why Javier is hunting him to lead the company.

At first, Chad refuses a new assignment to lead a small, mediocre company. After all, no race car driver would be happy to drive an old family sedan for a long time. Despite meeting Javier, he quickly changes his mind. He always wanted to improve his position with the Kerseys until he became a regal figure like Mary Jane Gould. 

Before, Chad was stalled, not because of lack of effort, but because he never got the right opportunity. Now, he understands. Javier has basically made him one of his people.

When Javier finally ascends the throne and becomes the leader of the Kerseys, what will Chad do? That would make him a follower of the Supreme King, that's all! The right hand is honored from the family's greatest heir! He will be one step closer to greatness!

How could he hold back when he thought of such a glorious prospect?!

“So, Mr. McCool, Beacon Tire is now yours to manage. Oh, right.there's also Aunt Mary Jane. I mean, Ms. Gold is also here, so the two of you might be able to recruit a few more people to form a team or something like that,” Javier said casually as Chad's eyes widened.

" Mad. Gold?! Meaning he was placed here as well?!”

Seeing Javier nodding made Chad continue to be moved. “I don't think I need any more hands when I'm in a perfect team like this, Master Javier! Shit, I swear to you now—I will make Beacon Tires one of the top 100 companies in the country. Otherwise, I will let you chop off my head and use my skull as your wine cup!” His statement is full of absolute confidence that can only be born of very high competence. While Odell has to rack their brains just to get a miserable edge over their competition, the, Chad is confident enough to swear that he can glorify that unknown company in three years—by joining the top 100 countries, no less!

Javier tells Chad to go see Mary Jane and return to meet a young man who is still in his office. 

Tanned, scarred, and with dark eyes, the man was Javier's age and had high opinions of him.

Javier already knows who he is: Herschel Lord, one of Mackenzie Spencer's subordinates. He can punch in the face and get the job done efficiently. The last time Mackenzie saw Javier, he was suspended for lacking a very efficient muscle in Javier's side, so he arranged for Herschel to join Chad when he was invited to join the company. After making sure Chad arrives safely, he stays by Javier's side, ready to follow any orders.

Javier felt a little awkward sending the man back to his master after such a long journey, so he decided to just follow along and let Herschel serve him. After instructing his subordinates not to reveal his true identity, he throws Herschel's car keys, implying that he can wait for her in his car.

Jade himself did not express any doubts or strong opinions about Chad's recruitment. He believes in Javier, and the same confidence is given to the talent that Javier has recruited. Chad will do a good job managing Ban Beacon, he believes  . After giving him some instructions himself, he left with Javier.

What makes Jade even more curious is the arrival of Herschel, but Javier tells him that he is just the guide. The young woman immediately believed him, confirming this to herself by thinking that anyone who could hold the executive rank would hire a driver for themselves.

Their car was speeding on the highway. Not long after, they arrived at the Drakon Real Estate office building. Matthew, who was already standing there waiting, greeted his beloved nephew warmly. Of course, there was a slight hitch in his warmth once his eyes met Javier's eyes. His smile could not help but sink in and turn into a frown.

Javier wasn't the only one who bothered him during this disaster—Sam Dunham and his bald, stupid head also pissed him off. He promised to cut off his ear, didn't he?

However, now was not the time for him to sneer at the matter. Matthew quickly gathers himself and brings Jade to the company building. Javier follows from behind, stays by his side, which leaves Matthew injured enough to snap, “Who do you think you are? This is Odello Corp's business. You are not welcome here. Get out of here!"

Unfortunately, Matthew's sarcasm makes Herschel angry. Enraged, the burly man got out of the car with a knife in hand and secretly, like a murderer, slipped into Matthew.
