Javier did not answer but instead asked Liam, "How much do I need to buy your patents and your students?"
Liam pursed his lips. “It will be expensive. I'm guessing it might be a one-year profit as you say - if you sell 20 thousand units per month.
That would be 150 million dollars. They just talked about the annual profit earlier.
According to the market price, it seems like a high price to buy talent and technology patents using 150 million dollars, but Javier replied without hesitation, “Sure. This 150 million dollars does not include your research lab and the like as I will give it an extra. I guarantee they will be the most advanced the world has. I'll have Trevor talk to you about it. He will make instant purchases for any equipment you need. Even if you need the Large Hadron Collider, I will buy it without a word!
Liam was confused, "You really aren't pressed for money?"
"Absolutely not!" Javier nodded seriously..
Liam curious. This young man in his twenties did not seem to be here to create trouble. Since that wasn't the case, he should at least want some sort of advantage. If not, what else is he looking for?
When Liam asks Javier about it in person, the latter pulls out his phone and shows him the news about the Ackerman and Reivaj Media movie pages.
“I didn't mean much by showing this to you. I just want to let you know that I am the chairman of the Reivaj Group, and my goal is simple. It is true that I want to make money, but at the same time, I want to do my best to show the shortcomings of this country from one aspect to another. Cliches to say that it is patriotism, but one should think of doing something to leave their name when they are rich.
“Look at it as materialism or patriotism, whichever you like, whichever you like, but my only goal is to make good Chinese films that are world-recognized and produce good Chinese cars that the world envies.
“I've finished a good movie, so I'm going to make a car now, and I know that Trevor Hammond is a prodigy in the car industry—you too. So, I gather you, talented people, whatever we need to produce a car that we can show to the world.”
Javier pretends to be narcissistic to want to leave his name in history. It hardly sabotages itself, but it also reflects reality. He was truly patriotic, but rather than admit it, it was easier for others to believe in his narcissism. The process is not very important when the results will be the same.
Liam studied Javier for a moment before commenting, “You are completely honest.
"good. Nor will I stop, remembering you so frankly. I was short on research funding and was intending to sell the patent. Selling it to someone Hammond approved wouldn't be too bad, but there is one condition you have to promise me.
Not expecting the negotiations to go so smoothly, Javier was very surprised. He nodded easily at what Liam said. "Say."
Whether it was money or research, Liam could ask for anything he wanted. Javier is not worried because he really does not lack that much money.
However, Liam asks for something Javier never imagined.
"The car you make in the future should be named after me."
Javier's stunned. He could almost look at the automotive exhibition narrator in earnest and officially introduce the cars his company made.
“This is Liam I, this is Liam II, this is Liam III.”.
Gosh, those names are so domineering, aren't they?
Other cars are called BMW, Audi, or Aston Martin. What happened to Liam I, II, and III?
Imagine how awkward it would be to answer "I drive Liam III!" when someone stops his car at a traffic light and is asked, “Hey, gan, what car is this?” with the car next to him.
The name is above! It was too high and solemn, so Javier didn't approve of it.
Liam waved his hand. "No-no. I invented the propulsion system. I also have to leave my name in history.”
Javier can understand this. People name their own children, and this system is like a child for researchers. It's just not exactly named Liam's car.
“Master, we will name the Liam propulsion system. You can still record your name.”
It's okay if the machine is named Atkinson or Liam I because no one will check it. The name of the car is different. Similarly, it is okay to name a child Potatoes or Dirt, but it would be terrible to give them those names legally.
Even so, Liam remained steadfast in this matter. He refuses to budge and insists on naming Liam's car.
Javier is very troubled. Everything went smoothly, but why was Liam so adamant with the name?
“It was just a name. I concur. We at the Imperial Sun Group have no objections at all. We agree to any terms you mention, Mr. Jepson. No bargaining or negotiation!”
While Javier was hit with a headache, the short-bearded fat man came in with two bodyguards following him. Javier knows that there will be competitors for the technology, but he assumes that they will come before him, not after him.
Liam looked at the short fat guy and threw his cigarette on the floor before turning it off with a leg. While exhaling his last breath, he told Javier, “Bejit Tate, a representative of Imperial Sun Group from Yuzuia. He has come several times.”
Javier knows about the Imperial Sun Group. It was a heavy industry company with a military background, involved in the manufacture of fighter jets, and should not be underestimated in terms of capabilities. Nonetheless, it was for the top 500 companies in the world.
To Javier Imperial Sun Group was nothing!
Bejit Tate came and politely greeted Liam before telling Javier, “I don't care who you are or who you represent. You are not eligible to compete for technology with our Imperial Sun Group.
"My advice to you is to go well, lest you be ashamed."
Javier beamed in response, "Fatty, you're very confident."
The nickname left Bejit unsatisfied, and his bodyguards snapped in Yuzuese's language, "Stupid!"
Javier turned to the bodyguard. "Anything. I'd also like you to know that I don't like your attitude, so I'm respectfully telling you, You won't be able to go back to your home country again.
The other guards were also very angry. "Idiot, are you threatening us ?!"
Javier turned his gaze to the bodyguard and shook his head. “What am I threatening you for? I am just stating a fact. Just like how you won't be able to return to your home country right now, it's as simple as that.”
The two bodyguards were furious, but Bejit stopped them before they could do anything furiously.
“Do not be rude in front of Mr. Jepson. We are educated people with class. No need to bend too low.”
As if realizing his scolding was inappropriate, Bejit looked at Liam with a big smile.
“Please don't get me wrong, Mr. Jepson. I'm still very respectful to your people and you. I mean just him.”
Bejit wanted to talk more, but Liam waved his hand. “You don't have to come anymore. I told you before. I will not sell this technology patent to you, even if I have to destroy it.”
