Chapter 254 Money is Not a Problem

“Where is the professor? We will meet him now and get his technology first - no matter how much it takes!”

Surely many people are eyeing technology that is so amazing as well. Javier could already foresee someone else who was there asking him when he met the old professor!

Trevor gets close enough to the old professor and decides to take Javier there. It's just…

"Boss, I have to pick up my son first and can only go there with you after I take care of the boy."

Javier waved his hand. "unneeded. Tell me his address and contact number. I'll go by myself and call you if anything goes wrong. You will definitely be free to answer calls.”

Trevor is very happy because Javier is as excited as he is.

“Of course, I have time for that. Don'worry. I'll call him now to talk about this.”

Trevor pulls out his phone to do just that, only to find out that he can't make calls. She then remembered that she had not paid her phone bill for two months.

A maverick like him is so poor that he owes a phone bill to a telecommunications company. Despite such difficulties, he did not give up on exploring and researching green energy vehicles.

Javier thinks that such passions and talents are a true treasure for the nation's workers' hands!

After Trevor makes contact, Javier rushes through the night. He did not take the flight because the earliest flight was tomorrow afternoon, nor did he take the high-speed train because it would happen the next morning. He wanted to get there as quickly as possible, so Herschel, who was protecting him from afar, waved into the car.

“Log in. We'll take turns and go through the night. I'll take a nap in the car.”

Javier needed enough rest and energy to meet the old professor the next day. He must win the creator of the hydrogen fuel system!

As they drove through the night, Javier finally arrived at a small factory at about eight the next morning. If Trevor had not told him the exact location, it would have been hard for him to imagine that a proficient professor like this would have learned about something so great in such a small factory.

When Javier delivered it to Trevor back then, Trevor simply explained, “He thinks like me. What we want is to revive the country's car industry so that our people can buy good cars that we make and so that our local production cars can step into the world.

“But many people don't think like this. All they think about is.. what about their internal combustion engine (ICE) if green energy is developed? Who will pay for their millions and billions of dollars in investments?

“The new trend will definitely stop a large number of old technologies. Back when they succeeded, it was the same case. But it is also because they have experienced the dismissal of others so they do not want others to dismiss them.”

For personal gain to affect the welfare of the people and even the technological development of the nation is not the complete reason why technology is lagging behind. However, it is an important part of the human factor.

Javier sees an old professor measuring a model with a Vernier caliper in a small factory workshop.

The professor's name is Liam Jepson, and he's 70 this year. As the name means guard or protector, he is like born to guard the nation.

Liam looked steadfast, like he was in his early sixties. One would probably buy it if he was said to be in his fifties.

Liam was wearing reading glasses and a pair of overalls, and he was currently comparing measurements on the Vernier calipers carefully.

There were a few youngsters in the workshop, probably Liam's student. They were all talents equipped with knowledge of advanced technology, but they were all wearing dirty and greasy canal clothes, not looking different from the average factory worker.

It was hard to imagine that these people were graduates of prestigious universities and absolute elites.

Seeing no one else coming, Javier inwardly heaved a sigh of relief. He was just afraid of someone competing for technology with him

It's like how the Chinese found the explosives, but foreigners have picked them up, improvised, and used them against the Chinese. It was an insult and something Javier was forbidden to do!

Javier rushed to Liam and greeted him solemnly. "Professor Jepson, hi, I-"

Liam waved his hand as Javier spoke.

“This data does not seem right!” he muttered and continued to study the model, ignoring Javier completely.

The latter was unlikely to say anything because the professor was solving the problem, so he could only take a few steps back and wait, standing to the side. The wait then ends from eight in the morning to seven in the evening.—one more hour, and it will be half a day.

Until Liam cancels him and takes off his hold, he approaches Javier. "You're the one Hammond introduced to that place?"

Hammond, Trevor Hammond, Javier nodded quickly without looking upset. Forget waiting for half a day, he was willing to wait for three days and three nights as long as he could get his hands on the technology.

Liam glanced at him and told him, “Sabarlah. You are the first to wait until I take the initiative to speak.

Javier felt his heart fall. In other words, does it mean that there are already many people coming?

He asked hurriedly, "Professor Jepson, is the research funding you received coming from his compatriot or a stranger?"

Liam took out a cigarette and perched between his lips, lighting it on his own before Javier could do it for him after the latter took out a match to help light the stick.

“I do not receive research funding. It's all from my previous technology transfer fee.”

Not being funded for research means the technology patent still exists in Liam. That knowledge made Javier sigh in relief.

Liam then asked, "I heard from Trevor that you want to make a car with my system?"

Javier nodded at the straightforward old man. "Yes. I want to make a car model and participate in WCOTY, then promote it to the country and the world.”

Liam did not comment but continued to ask, "What do you think the retail price should be if the manufacturing cost per car is 12.5 thousand dollars?"

Javier had no idea why the old man was asking this, but he replied honestly, "I'll add 800 dollars per car after deducting all the costs."

Liam chuckles. “Don't you only make a profit of 1.6 million dollars if you sell two thousand units per month? Pay the taxes, and you won't even make 15 million a year. Those 15 million dollars should be allocated to offset market and research funds. You will experience a loss.”

“If I sell 20 thousand cars per month, my annual profit is about 150 million dollars. In addition, I will not only raise 800 dollars for overseas sales but higher. That's where I really make money, ” Javier replied.

Liam dropped himself on the machine sheath mould next to him. "It seems you're quite patriotic."

"Especially because I'm not pressed for money" Javier replied honestly.

Liam entertained. This was the first time he had met someone so honest.

“Why are you in the automotive industry if you don't need that money? You make it sound as if you are not here to make a profit. Besides, how many do you have?
