The Hero
Chapter 403 Really Incubus!

Javier's question and "very good advice" ruffled Mikaela's feathers.

Waving in haste, he explained, “No, that's not what I meant, Mr Kersey! I was just thinking.. We were going to buy the same thing, and Donald said he knew the best way to get it and knew a lot about it, so I thought... Why not kill two birds with one stone? So, here's me.”

Javier considers pure sincerity - bordering on gullibility - in his eyes and laughs. He pulled out his phone and searched for an MRI model online before returning to Mikaela.

“Donald told you he knew about these things, didn't he? Call him now. Ask him how many brands of MRI, how much they cost, and what are the strengths and weaknesses of each. Which one does the hospital use?

Mikaela humming. Donald must have meant it when he said he knew about these things. He calls the man at Javier's behest and repeats every question to him.

Answer's disappointing. "Can you wait? I need to check on the Internet. Give me half an hour and I'll call you again.”

Mikaela surprised. "wait. You don't know?”

"Truly seriously? Of course I don't know anything—I'm just a black market roving trader! What's the point of knowing everything? The point is, I can connect people with the business they are looking for while I make money from it. I don't care about the others, ”he bites back.

"That's her. Don't come bothering me when I have some information to look for!

The call ended in that strong tone. The room was unusually quiet during the entire conversation so Javier had heard Donald's answer even without Mikaela calling through a loudspeaker.

He studied the shock engraved on Mikaela's face and grinned. “Donald, Donald, Donald. Pursuing the dollar was so hard that he thought he could have cheated me. He doesn't just think I'm stupid, he thinks I'm stupid! That's the only reason he's doing his best to trick me, isn't it? And what about you, Mikaela? You agree with him, I guess. You came here just because he asked for you too. You think I'm a generous moron, right?”

Mikaela's confused. “T-No! That's not it at all! I just thought he-“

Javier didn't give Mikaela a window to explain herself. “If you don't think I'm an idiot, then you're a fool. You're the one who treats his brain as a decoration rather than a functional organ, and honestly, is there anything else to say? How long have you been with a shy person like Donald? Long enough to know his nature now, right?

“Do you know how important each medical equipment is to the hospital? You are the head nurse! How do you not know? And for Donald to set up a company and make a purchase and call it 'kill two birds with one stone'! Oh yeah, who's the rock-throwed bird? Is he qualified to do the job just because he can Google some MRIs and tell you how much it costs?

"Shoppers! I never thought Googling would be such an amazing skill that it would be considered a valuable part of a certain set of skills!” he sneered.

“That's the most impressive thing I've heard all week. Maybe I should start a company with my Googling skills as a selling point! I mean, I'm also pretty good at typing words in the blank search bar. By the way, Mikki, can you also search for information on the Internet? If yes, then come and be my fucking vice president! That's the perfect skill that can make you rich overnight!” Javier mocking Mikaela has made him restless.

He opened his mouth, his answer was canceled even before it had taken shape, his entire demeanor resembled that of someone who had a cat tongue.

It's embarrassing to be called like this! He had trusted Donald before trying to prove what he said was true—and came to Javier repeatedly for the same man! God, talk about shame! Even Mikaela hated how much she was.

As his cheeks flushed pink, Javier jumped to his feet and approached him, looming over his smaller body while the latter retreated, tripped, and fell on the sofa.

“Frankly, Mikki. Did you come here because of him, or did you come here because of me?

Mikaela's beautiful eyes stared at the super handsome face that floated less than 10 centimeters before her. Vortex—the swirling flame twinkled within his pupils

—makes his heart pound like a sweltering rabbit. He could almost hear the drums on his chest from outside.

Just as Mikaela was busy trying to explain herself and deny the accusation, Javier leaned forward and killed the rest by bringing her sexy, cherry-like lips closer together.

By the time she let go, Mikaela's cheeks were hot as if they were burning. Javier studied the pink color flowing from his cheeks, his tone softening into a soft sound. “I really want you, Mikki. From the first time I saw you, I thought to myself, 'Oh my God, if I could get a woman this beautiful, how happy would I be?!"

Mikaela was so confused that she closed her big, doe-like eyes just to avoid looking at her again. A very real fear was gripping him—fear that he would lose himself due to the flames in his eyes.

Javier has no plans to release him. He lowered his head, his lips looming over Mikaela's porcelain neck.

He's approaching, almost an inch or so.

Someone knocked on the door.

Javier was a little surprised. No one would come to see him outside his home or residence. Could it be that his father had just learned of his presence here?

Could it be that Ciara's mother, who was suddenly besieged by the longing for her daughter and stepson, was enough that her maternal impulse brought her here, right outside, to meet him?

Emotions flooded his head. Javier's attention reflected off Mikaela in a second as she practically lunged at the door. He then pulled it open.

A man in his fifties was standing there. Stretched across his white T-shirt are the words "Bickass Realty", which denotes the man's identity as a lackey of a realty management company.

Javier could have guessed that he was there to charge the condo fee. The elderly woman who lives across from the unit has mentioned that the realty company has been sending their men to collect debts for the past three months,

The older man spoke up and basically justified Javier's conjecture.

“Hallelujah! Someone at home

at the last loooong! God, we've cut off your water and electricity supply because of this, guys, so I don't know how you guys have survived all this time. Come on, pay, kid. Your debt amounts to 60 dollars - "

Javier cuts him off before the man finishes his sentence by thrusting 80 dollars into his hand. “Well, I already paid for it. Save the change for the problem I caused you.”

The old man immediately smiled. He had hated this futile debt collection journey for a while now, but that grudge vanished upon seeing this windfall. Well, 20 bucks is a great tip! Better than the minimum wage of a day!

Tucking the money into his pocket, the older man turned around and walked away with a spring in his step. He even promised before leaving, “Don't worry! Water and electricity will be back on soon—I mean faster than half an hour!”

Javier doesn't care about these things even if he tries. All she could focus her mind on was Mikaela Holmes, who was lying on her back on the sofa and seemed perfectly ready to be taken. If not for her father or stepmother, then she would rather spend her time enjoying what Mikaela has to offer!

Javier returns to the living room and finds Mikaela back on her feet, hastily clutching her bag over her shoulder as she prepares to leave. He grabbed her as the young woman tried to sneak past him and pulled him into his arms forcefully.

“Where are you, Mikki? You just have to be brave! Call your courage and strengthen your resolve, and we will both soon enjoy happiness together!”

Mikaela lost the remaining small determination. Javier is like an incubus who keeps seducing him to let him into his pants! But maybe he can obey ... once? Just this once shouldn't be a problem, right?
