The Hero
Episode 445 A Ghost Living in Darkness

Nathaniel is still alive and willing to tell Javier everything just a moment ago, making it the perfect opportunity.

Javier intends to gain information about the powers lurking in the shadows through Nathaniel, so he is willing to summon over 3,000 people and cause a huge commotion for this exact cause.

Unfortunately, Nathaniel was eventually killed by Angelina's team. The fact that his shooter had killed him when he was no longer a threat proves that something is wrong about the whole situation, and the shooter must be captured alive.

In the end, Gabby panics and kills her shooter in order to save Javier. So, did he make a mistake?

Of course not.

Javier waves his hand at Gabby. “It's okay. We won't be able to get anything out of him even if he's still alive. In fact, I owe you a favor for saving my life!” Javier's consolation made Gabby sigh in relief, but she still felt a little desperate.

After all, his actions had caused the efforts of over 3,000 men to go to waste. In the end, the resources spent cannot be calculated through the value of money alone.

If someone were to forcefully hold someone accountable, even Gabby and Levi's combined assets would not be enough to compensate them.

Seeing how down Gabby is, Javier approaches her. “It's okay, really. It was an emergency situation, so it was very rare for you to react that way even though you were so anxious, let alone have time to aim at his hand.”

Gabby felt much better after Javier consoled her.

Javier gives Gabby another consolation smile before heading out to meet Suzzane, Alyssa, and the others. Fortunately, they were all locked up in greenhouses and not harmed at all.

Upon entering the house, Javier looks through the iron-tested window and sees that there is nothing but a mountain, which is close to what Alyssa described.

However, Javier was curious about one thing…

How could Alyssa call them? The moment Herschel entered the containment place, Alyssa directly pounced on him.

“Herschel!

Thank goodness you came to save me! I am so scared!”

Alyssa looked rather pitiful, as tears covered her face.

At that moment, Suzanne arrived beside Javier and nodded her head towards him. "Thank you on behalf of everyone."

Javier smiled and said that it was nothing and they should get out of there as soon as possible. After all, they would only face unnecessary trouble once the police or military arrived, as they had caused a huge commotion.

As they exit, Javier deliberately pulls Suzanne with him to the end of the line. When everyone was a few miles away, Suzanne asked, "Are you wondering how Alyssa called?"

Javier inevitably secretly praised the woman for her appearance and intelligence.

"He read my mind."

Suzanne then said, “There was a group of people with guns directed at us, forbidding us to come out. They even had gunmen follow us as we used the restroom.”

At that moment, Suzanne hurriedly added, "There's a female gunman among them."

Surprisingly, Javier did not say anything flirtatious at the time. Instead, he let Suzanne continue.

“Then, Alyssa deliberately seduced a man when she went to the restroom, and they.

“By the way, you can't tell Herschel about what happened. Alyssa just did.. it's for us.”.

Javier surprised. “I wonder why Alyssa can specifically use her phone while others can't. I really need to thank him later. But don't worry, I won't tell anyone what he did to achieve it.

After saying that, Javier gestured for Alyssa to leave first by pretending that she still had some other things to check on at the manor.

Inside, Herschel still helped clear the others. Javier then tells Gabby before asking Herschel to give up his phone. He did it without thinking anything.

Javier looks at the number Alyssa used to call them before throwing her phone back at Herschel.

Herschel laughed out loud. "Of course not! I'm not as clumsy as Running Man!”

After a casual chat, Javier had Herschel collect everyone's phones.

“You're really becoming more and more stingy, Boss. Are you really going to be so careful with small money like this that you will even collect it and sell it for secondhand?

"Be quiet, I'll just check their phones and see if one of them has our enemy's phone number."

Herschel finally understood what Javier wanted to do and hurriedly ordered everyone to take out the cell phones from both the corpses and the ones that had given up.

To ensure that they did not miss a single phone, Herschel even stayed on the scene and watched, very strictly about everything.

After retrieving everything, Javier finds a quiet spot and pulls out the phone at random, calling a number he has memorized from Herschel's phone. The phone call worked, but none of the phones he collected rang or lit up.

This means Alyssa or Suzanne is lying.

The phone call was connected a few seconds later. However, once connected, the person on the other end of the phone seemed to realize what was going on and hung up.

Javier realizes what just happened and hits himself with rage.

"I'm a complete idiot!"

'I've been so focused on wanting to verify the truth that I forgot the fact that his phone number was also a clue!!

Javier remembers to think about Herschel's feelings and not tell him what the truth is.

However, he missed one very important detail. Therefore, he immediately used his own phone and called Mackenzie. After giving her a phone number, Javier asks Mackenzie to use her connection and find out who the owner of the phone number is as quickly as possible.

After doing that, Javier called Gabby. "Is there anyone by your side who just answered their phone?"

Gabby replied, “No, no. I paid extra attention to Suzanne and Alyssa, as you instructed, but none of them answered their phone.

Javier answers "okay" and ends the phone call after instructing Gabby not to mention a word about it.

Back in the car, Javier sits in the back seat, while Herschel and Alyssa are out.

'Herschel was completely clean, but he knew about me mobilizing the others and bringing them here. If he told Alyssa about it, and Alyssa told Nathaniel, this was the result.

'But there is something strange about this...Why did Alyssa suddenly switch sides, fight Nathaniel, and tell us the location?

'If Alyssa and Suzanne are clean, then...

'What's the phone about?

'I'm sure no one has escaped from here, and this entire manor has been besieged. After all, I have all of their phones now, so how could my last phone still be connected and have someone answer it?'

Javier frowned. 'It seems like my enemy is not only good at hiding, but also espionage!'

Mackenzie suddenly called Javier as he was deep in thought. “The owner of the mobile number passed away three years ago due to a reasonable illness.

"His owner was 80 at the time, and his phone records were blank because someone told him to rub.

"Someone ordered that the number be blacklisted, and it was done through a public wifi source, so we couldn't find who exactly this person was.”

'Deadlock ... Dead end again! Fuck this guy! He was truly like a ghost living in the darkness!

Javier was obviously very frustrated, but it was invisible from his expression. After a while, Herschel headed to the car, even greeting Alyssa with a very hot and passionate kiss before doing so.

However, as soon as the door closed, Herschel whispered to Javier, "There's something wrong with Alyssa, Boss."
