Lying on the big bed and staring at Javier who was sound asleep beside her, Mikaela had a hard time describing what she was feeling.
He asks inwardly if he likes Javier - he likes him! Does he love Javier? Nah!
He felt like he had fallen into a strange state. He is willing to do anything with Javier, including a crazy night of pleasure bordering on torture like last night, but once feelings are taken into account, he cannot be invested.
He thinks that Javier is a good guy. He's nice to her and Renna, he's handsome, young and rich. If a man like this was not a reliable person for his future, he honestly did not know what kind of man deserved to spend the rest of his life with him.
It's just that he can't love her no matter what. Feels weird. He used to stubbornly think that**** could only happen on the basis of existing feelings, but realized that it did not happen after meeting Javier. They are two separate things. She can relate**** with Javier without loving him and it seems obvious that they are happy together.
But when they had to live together, he felt strange about it. That feeling is strange…
Hearing Renna's voice from the next room, Mikaela immediately got up. Afterwards, she brings Renna back and stays with Oliver.
Javier has just satisfied his desire, but he no longer manages to get the chance to develop a thrilling and intimate bond with Mikaela.
In contrast, hospitals are developing well during this period of time. Huge and powerful gifts not only attract great bounty hunters, but also attract famous doctors.
When the equipment has arrived from abroad, the, it seems commonplace for doctors who can really afford to flock when they have decent equipment and higher salaries despite doing the same job in caring for patients.
Even so, rumors outside were still circulating about the lower Holy Virtue Hospital. The most talked about was the three consecutive medical incidents that happened back then.
Javier felt he had to eliminate it or it would not be beneficial to the development of the hospital. Coincidentally, an old man in his seventies was sent today by the people in his village. The villagers had heard that one could be treated for free here if it was in accordance with the terms and conditions, so they sent the old man here.
Sebastian Weir is the old man's name. He had fought when he was young and left his two fingers on the battlefield. Now her spouse has passed away and she has no children, it is her village and country that sustains her.
Recently, however, she continued to feel chest tightness and breathing difficulties, but the local hospital was unable to find out what was wrong.
He went to a larger hospital in the city eventually and was found to have a serious case of aortic stenosis on a chest scan. Doctors are quoted as saying, “If patients with such conditions do not undergo surgery, the mortality rate in two years is 50% and higher. Operation is the only solution.”
People in Sebastian's village are in a dilemma because doctors say such surgery is usually a more invasive traditional thoracotomy and slow recovery.
The problem was, the old man was already in his seventies and had poor heart function. He has had repeated heart failure and cerebral infarction as well as high blood pressure over the years. He was in poor health in general and could not resist the usual thoracotomy of replacing his valve.
The village was having another hard time - they had no money, which was why when they heard that the Sacred Benevolent Hospital was taking care of patients like this for free, he said, they don't care about hospitals that have had medical accidents in the past. Their priority was to send the old man here to be treated first.
Although it sounds inappropriate, they do it as a last resort. Dying in the operating room is still better than dying at home—at least there is a possibility not to die in the operating room.
“I don't know anything about medical, but since you guys are saying that you are confident, we will make this treatment a PR stunt. I want everyone to have a new recognition of the Hospital of Holy Virtue with this case and make them aware of the changes in our abilities now!”
Saving the man was a doctor's business and Javier would never interfere with their treatment plans and anything else. He wouldn't patronize experts when he was an outsider, but there were other things he could really do well and that was what the doctors didn't master.
When he went to Doug's office, the man reported to him.
"Trs. Kersey, I have turned this case into a medical PR stunt and contacted all medical media I can invite. I also sent people to organize the local press. There will be follow-up reporting of the entire operation.
“Before that, I will first release the news about Sebastian Weir who has joined the war and his contribution to the country, as well as how he became a proper role model for the villagers when he returned.
“I do not raise topics that can easily get off track such as poverty to prevent it from getting out of our control and losing its efficacy.
“We will then declare our hospital care for Sebastian and the hospital attitude to care for poor patients for free. When the surgery is over, I'm sure the reputation of our hospital will be spread as well after Sebastian has recovered.
“Also, I have made the other side of the preparations regarding this. If Sebastian unfortunately.I mean in that case I have made the next arrangement. That's proposal. Try view.”
Javier waved nonchalantly at the proposal Doug had put on him. What was the last done, though,
“Very good. I won't see the proposal, I hope I don't have to know the contents forever.”
Doug is happy with Javier's praise and trust in him, but he feels a little bad about
one thing DNS .
“We took care of Sebastian for free and it was something great. But we called the press and did PR about it. Will this cause the whole case to be rather.. intentional?”
Javier nods. “There must be our interests involved but we cannot be accidental. What we do is care for the poor for free, not attract more people to our hospitals so we can make money from them.
“That's enough because we did a good deed. The process doesn't matter. What matters is the end result.
“I believe that an old man who wants a greater good like him will agree and allow our PR action.”
Doug nodded. “I understand, Mr. Kersey. I'll handle it.”
Seeing Doug leave the office, Javier clenched his fists. This should go well. That can't fail. Hospital publicists can have a second chance if they fail but someone like Sebastian who has served the country with his blood, he will leave once they fail!
