Chapter 371 The Samar Trail

The next morning, when Maddison was found by the river, he completely lost his mind. She waved her torn underwear as she stood naked by the roadside.

”Pak, let's play for a dollar. Comeon!"

Maddison is still quite attractive and has a sexy body so many people are tempted. A man even hit the car in front of him because of that.

The driver of the car did not argue after they got out of the car. Instead, they began to comment on Maddison.

“It looks sensational. It would be nice if I could hitchhike.”

Before the traffic police came to investigate, the police officers came first. As they were about to take Maddison away, she hugged a police officer and refused to let him go.

The police officer who was sent was stunned. “I was on duty at the office last night. What's been going on?"

Maddison was convinced that the police officer she was hugging had forced himself on her last night, and she did so from 11:00 to 6:00 a.m.

“This person is not under our supervision. Call it a mental hospital..”

Maddison was taken to a mental hospital by car.

Meanwhile Jade walked with an awkward posture.

“Hayyy, beautiful. Why are you like that when you walk? That's terrible.”

Jade was annoyed when she had to face such a ruthless Javier beside her.

“This is all your fault. You tortured me until 3:00 Do you think I'm made of steel? You almost tired me to death!”

Javier looks like he's being molested. “But you didn't say that last night. All I hear is you tell me how great I am.

Jade felt embarrassed, and her face flushed red.

"I'll kill you if you keep teasing me."

Even so, he would never have the heart to do so. He won't even hurt his finger.

After driving to the hospital, Javier and Jade get out of the car and walk to the hospital with the breakfast they had bought on the way.

That was Milly's day of surgery. Dr. Carillo set it up last night.

It shouldn't be this fast, but Milly's condition became very serious from all the previous delays. He had pneumonia and congenital heart disease, so they couldn't help it anymore. Therefore, Javier and Jade did not go to the office today. They'll be waiting here in anticipation of the good news.

Just as they reached the hospital door, they saw Finn sitting on the stairs and crying while covering his head. Javier immediately flipped and quickly stepped forward.

“Finn, did someone bully you again? Tell me!"

Javier's really pissed. The boy had lost his parents, and he was so hungry that his body looked like a 7-year-old, when he was 10. It's sad that he's been through so much. Whoever bullied Finn must have no heart.

That's nothing else—Milly is gone. Javier can't believe it. He could see in Jade's eyes that he couldn't believe it either.

This is impossible. That little girl was so happy last night. She is so charming and adorable. How could he leave?

Jade sits next to Finn and hugs him as he asks a few questions while Javier rushes to the hospital. When he found James, he was laying his head on the table, wiping away his tears. Javier wanted to question him but could not force himself to interrogate him when he saw that.

He asked as calmly as possible, and James explained what had happened. Milly's pneumonia suddenly worsened at 2am that day. The nurse called them when she found out.

They had tried their best to save her as quickly as possible, but her innate heart attack caused by pneumonia was severe.

When it came time to send him to the ER, Milly seemed to be beyond help.

“When he entered the ER, Milly still had a bit of awareness. He told me that he saw his father and mother. They would take him to a very far place, and they would be by his side forever. He also said that the cake last night was delicious.”

“Kue last night was good.” It made Javier's eyes teary. Javier crouched down and cried with all his might.

She remembers Milly reluctantly eating out for fear that she and her brother could not afford it.

She remembers that Milly was reluctant to eat too much cake, but she kept asking her brother to eat more.

He was just a 7-year-old boy who was supposed to start experiencing the joys of life, but it was over.

Javier can't understand why God hasn't let a wise little girl like Milly in this world for decades more.

James rises. As he left the room, he brought a resignation report with him.

The doctor who was in the same room tried to persuade her. “Carillo, this has nothing to do with you. Why did you resign? You will soon be appointed as deputy director.”

James said with tears, “I really can't forget it. I respect the policy that the hospital cannot provide free care, but I cannot accept that I should see a little girl die in front of me because she has no money.

“I've worked enough like this. I would rather go to the crematorium and send the deceased on their final journey than see the dead gradually. I can obviously take care of him, but all I can do is watch him die."

James left, and none of his comrades could persuade him to change his mind.

He deliberately went to the director's office.

Javier's gone too. He went to Milly's ward and found the photo left there.

It was from last night, and Milly smiled brightly. When she saw Milly in the morgue, she still had a sweet smile on her pure little face. Even though the slight frown between his eyebrows showed his pain, he still smiled.

Just like her and her sister. Despite their misfortune, they continued with smiles on their faces and their hearts were filled with positivity…

Milly is cremated, and Javier buys the burial ground. Before she left, they dressed her up like a beautiful little princess.

Finn cried and fell to the ground. He couldn't stop calling Milly's name.

For years, all they had was each other. Finn is unable to accept the departure of his younger sister and his only family.

However, the wheel of destiny will never stop because of one's misery. Milly was gone, and no one wanted that to happen. But since he left, they had to learn to accept it.

Javier picked up Finn and said nothing. He forcibly took her away and left the grave.

Jade wiped her tears and stroked the brightly smiling photo of Milly on the tombstone before turning to leave.

This was the first time Milly had ever gotten a photo taken of her life. It was also the last and only photo he left. It was a faint, though hardly noticeable, trace that he had once lived in this world.
