Chapter 290 You're Very Good to Me

After a long stay at Graham's place, Javier reminds Noah to focus on his studies before he is about to depart.

Graham sent Javier all the way down, while the latter gave him a cigarette as they stood outside.

When they smoke, they start talking about work.

“I'm very confident in your workability. However, I still want to let you know that you can search for Trevor directly if you encounter any difficulties. He will stay here for a very long time as well. I've talked about your salary with him and decided to pay you 75 thousand dollars per year.”

Graham's eyes widened. “You can't do this, Mr. Kersey. What can I do to earn 75 thousand dollars a year? I'M…"

Graham really panicked thinking this job would only be worth a salary of 1.5 thousand dollars per month.

That night, he even told his wife before Javier came that he would probably be able to receive 23 thousand dollars including his year-end bonus.

However, Javier ends up giving him a big surprise, saying that he will be paid 75 thousand dollars a year.

This was a huge leap from what he had originally expected!

Graham really didn't dare to accept that much money. Too much so that he did not know how much effort he had to put in to earn that much money. In other words, Graham did not understand what Javier saw in him that he would be worth 75 thousand dollars a year.

He thought of rejecting Javier's offer once more, but Javier just waved his hand to stop him.

“You get paid that much because I put you up selling your connections and corruption. Of course, there will be punishments in the future as well. If I find out that you are not producing a stable standard of quality, I'll punish you. When that happens, you better not cry!”

Javier half-jokingly says those words, but gets Graham's solemn vow in return.

“Concuse me, Mr. Kersey. If you ever find that I am unable to handle my job, I will accept being fired. But you really don't have to pay me that much!

Facing Graham's request once again, Javier patted him on the shoulder and left..

“It's decided then. If you really think you don't deserve it, assume it's something from this uncle to his nephew!

Graham was stunned when he saw Javier leave, not understanding what Javier meant.

'Did he say that he and I were distant relatives? But... Is he my uncle in terms of seniority?'

Almost instantly, Graham understood what Javier meant and he scolded himself for his own stupidity.

'He was clearly talking about Noah! However, I ended up trying to take his position as his nephew.Thankfully no one knew what I was thinking, or I would rather die from embarrassment!

After realizing what it was, Graham watched as Javier left before he headed upstairs.

When he arrived home, both Graham and his wife exclaimed how good a Javier was…

That night, Javier gets on a plane and leaves without staying one more night

It was over 2am when he landed.

Herschel, who had long arrived at the airport after receiving his instructions, picked up Javier and went straight back to their residence.

Even though Javier has tiptoed back to his house, Ingrid still comes out of his room.

In fact, he didn't come out alone. There was a knife in his hand!

But when he realizes that it is Javier, he immediately throws the knife back to his bed.

"Have you eaten? I'll go make you something to eat.”

Javier waved his hand. "It's okay, I've eaten on the plane."

“Nobody visited recently, nor was there anyone suspicious on the road, so it is quite safe here. Don't worry!"

It's only natural that Javier feels comfortable with Ingrid there.

Afterwards, he lit a cigarette and said, "William and Arthur have started fighting now, Ing."

As a veteran of the family, Ingrid knows what is going on in the Kersey family.

Javier sighed and leaned back on the sofa. 'Anyone from my super big family would know how heavy the burden we were carrying. It is so heavy that it can break our bones if we are not strong enough…
