After lunch with Ciara, Javier took a bath and took a nap on his bed. At night, the butler visits them and informs them that Zephiel has returned.
Javier gets up, says good night to his sister, and follows the butler to the mansion of cement and tiles in the middle of the island.
Zephiel never liked living in mansions and tall buildings. He really liked his cottage made of cement, red roof tile. He even built a fence around it, where coral reefs and rocks had become living quarters, and changed the soil to plant crops. Javier never understood how his grandfather managed to plant crops behind corals and saltwater trapped deep within them, but once again he had money. Money could buy anything, and the cunning old fox had so much money that he could make his own nuclear bomb.
Javier enters his yard and finds his grandfather's nearly 80-year-old shadow fence. Despite her advanced age, she still had her health and strength, even though her hair and beard had turned snowy white and the old fox refused to dye it black.
In his case, his seniority emblem miraculously worked well with his neat white tie. As he fenced, he looked like a smart, shrewd, and polite thief capable of stunning his opponents and admirers with his swordplay that was like a strong wind.
Javier sat down on a lounge chair nearby and started playing the jade pipe. Legend has it that it was made purely of jade and was meant for foreign kings in distant lands. It would be troublesome to make them even with current technology, so one could only wonder how some craftsmen of the past century managed to make them.
Seeing a faint blob coming out from the inside of the pipe, Javier banged it against the rock next to him.
Unfortunately, the pipe turned out to be too fragile to be knocked down. Two taps later, Javier could hear the pipe crack before it split in half.
“Oh, shit.” He quickly glanced at the cunning fox. Seeing that he was unaware of it, Javier quickly reassembled the pipe. The jagged shape left behind in the jade made it easy to fuse the parts back together perfectly, and when left alone on the rosewood table next to it, it seemed like the pipe had never suffered any damage.
Javier forces the pipe to appear intact, leaves it on the table, and pretends not to care. He leaned back in the chair and waited leisurely. Laziness should also be obvious, or the cunning old fox might realize there is something strange about him.
To complete his disguise, Javier quipped, “Halo? Yo, old man! Your granddaughter is so bored here! What the hell is it like fighting your own shadow? Grandfather should at least give the butler a sword so that you can bully him mercilessly. ”
Zephiel ignored him and continued his activities for a while before finally deciding to pause and return to where Javier was sitting. At this point, the young man felt comfortable in his lounge chair.
The cunning old fox clutched his neck. To a fool, this looks similar to a regular pinch, but Javier finds himself unable to escape the old man's clutches. He then proceeded to throw a fencing rapier at Javier, prompting him to catch him with his hilt.
The cunning old fox has decided to respond to Javier's taunts!
The two engaged in a quick and impromptu duel. No matter how quickly Javier tried to dodge and fend off, he never managed to land an attack on his grandfather. The duel ends with a series, as Javier and his grandfather make their rapier clash in the middle.
He had to admit that regardless of his age, his grandfather never lost his edge when it came to swordplay. He tried his best to attack anywhere from the gap at hand, yet the old man always managed to dodge, block, and deflect his attacks and force him to defend.
Now, Javier can only play dirty and use the brute strength given his youth to force open his grandfather's defense. But doing so basically meant admitting defeat, as well as seemingly rubbing the old man's old strength in his face.
When his grandfather's tip was connected to his shirt, Javier raised his hand in surrender and dropped his rapier. “You will never be able to defeat a cunning old fox, will you?” the thrill is in a haphazard flattery. “Grandfather is always unstoppable. I'll never beat you at this level. ”
Zephiel seemed to enjoy the compliment. He took a sip of his Earl Grey and smiled before replying to Javier's praise by saying, "Side, Son."
Javier is used to his attitude. He went to lift a large stone that was somewhere in the courtyard and move it next to Zephiel before sitting on it. Then, he grabbed his grandfather's right leg, placed it on his lap, and started massaging it.
Zephiel did not stop his precious grandson. She just leaned back on the back of the lounge chair and enjoyed it.” I heard you beat half your aunt's sunshine from her. Really it?" She asked.
Javier did not hesitate to answer. "Oh yeah. I gave him over a dozen blows to the cheek. ”
Zephiel continued to pretend to be a clueless old man and was shocked. "I don't know what you're talking about, son."
Javier can only expose it directly. “Listen, I know you like me a lot, old man. But grandfather also used me as bait to draw aggression from you, didn't he? I feel like a lightning rod in the middle of a storm!” She protested. “Is grandfather trying to see, can I make a sturdy stick, or is grandfather just waiting to see which lightning will strike me? Either way, that's what you do, old man.”
Zephiel leaned back in her chair. "So, are you strong enough?"
“Ow, I don't know. I beat my aunt without any problems. Is it sturdy enough?” Javier answered the truth.
His tweets were not well received. "I'm not asking you to show how strong you are by slapping your own aunt!" sniffed the old man.
Javier chuckles. Zephiel raised her hand as if she wanted to put common sense into her head. However, in the end, he only made a knocking move.
“I know why you did it, son. Just don't make this public knowledge.”
The scheming old geezer may not have warned him explicitly, but Javier still understood what was implied. She knows about Marjorie's boy toys, but she has decided to turn a blind eye to him. Was it for the sake of the family's reputation, or because the old man was secretly feeling a little uneasy because his son was unable to satisfy his wife?
Because his grandfather has asked, Javier decides not to reveal Marjorie's secret. After all, he wasn't as stupid and as stupid as his stupid cousin, Sigmund.
Zephiel quickly continued, talking about Selena instead.
“I arranged for the girl and her mother to live abroad now,” she explained. “Because your mother-in-law is pretty sweet, she deserves it. His daughter could stand better at judging people, but in the grand scheme of things, what she did was not a big sin.
“Once you get used to the business world, you will start to see that everyone is driven by profits. The choice itself is driven by profit. You were a very bad husband back then, so he naturally chose someone better. A good knight will serve a good king rather than a substandard one, you know. You understand that, don't you? ”
Javier looked up to see the affectionate expression his grandfather rarely showed and nodded. "Yes." Yeah."
Both Selena and the coat as the patriarch of Kersey will only belong to someone truly valuable.
Of course Javier understands that. How can he not?
However, if there was one thing he cared more about than being a patriarch, it was, “Grandfather promised me information about my parents when I grew up. Now is the time, right?”
