Chapter 439 You're a bit ticklish
On the way to the blonde man's restaurant, Javier chatted with Suzanne in the car.
Suzanne asked, “How did you drop Manny? You're not going to use illegal means, are you?
He did not make any sudden guesses. People like Manny Poupe will never admit their own mistakes. They might not even do it even if someone has something on them."
Manny is his mentor. As his student, he was aware of his character.
Javier tilted the back of his chair down and placed his fist under his waist as he lay on the car seat.
“Mn, consider it illegal. I asked her to be frank before but she didn't have it, so I could only help her do it."
Javier says it nonchalantly, but Suzanne knows that there is nothing simple in this matter.
Maybe it should be repeated. It might have been easy for Javier, but it was really a challenge for him. That is why he is still so grateful that Javier has helped him take revenge and bring down Manny.
"Thank you, Mr. Kersey."
"Thank you back."
Javier remained lying in the car seat with his head turned to look at the night view outside the window. Beside her, Suzanne continued to speak.
“It's been years but this incident remains buried in my heart. I can't get through it. It's like the child I was born with but someone took it and the child had to live with them. It was frustrating because I was made to just watch but not be able to do anything.
“While I haven't gotten any praise or honor over the years, I've made a lot of money and have whatever I want. The material side of my life is fulfilled but I cannot cope with it. Every time I see Manny's news, I'm upset.
"Why? How can a trash like him take a position as hospital director and enjoy the prestige, enjoy the press praise, but the real inventor of the vaccine, I, Suzanne Quinn, can only be like a rat in the dark. I could never see the light no matter how much wealth I had. I feel so guilty!
“But everything is fine now. Manny Poupe is finally broken. That's a lot of fun for me. The frustrations I had accumulated over the years were finally calmed down. It feels amazing. Thank you." Thank you."
Javier smiled and said nothing. He can empathize with Suzanne. Anyone would be upset when his own creation was stolen and could only watch without being able to do anything about it, especially after so many years of no results.
Now that the matter was finally resolved, he should feel happy.
That was when Suzanne suddenly asked, “True, was Manny caught? How many years should he serve?”
Suzanne who is abroad apparently does not know the end of Manny. Javier replied, “He died in an accident.”
Suzanne who was rather pleased was surprised. "He died?"
As smart as he was, he immediately suspected Javier. "Is it because of me?"
Javier shook his head. “No, at least not completely. He hired three gunmen to kill me, so he died in an accident.”
Suzanne didn't reply. Whether he thinks Javier is scary or Manny's death is shocking, no one knows but him. He doesn't even know why. He just felt that it came as a surprise.
The journey ended in silence until they arrived at the blond man's Chinese restaurant.
The blond guy was pretty good, knowing to return the favor when there was. Although the response of the aid was small, it was a calculated gesture.
Even so, it makes Suzanne who had planned to host Javier as a thank you did not know what to say. He could only raise his glass towards Javier.
"Thank you." It was already the second time he had thanked Javier but Javier's response to him now was no longer that simple.
He clinks his glass to Suzanne's glass and asks, “That's all? Thank you blank? Nothing real?”
It's impossible for a smart woman like Suzanne to not know what Javier meant. He became embarrassed and opened his wallet with his head bowed.
Javier doesn't know why he ransacked his wallet. Did he give her an ***** and then say that he wants it used tonight? It would be a good payout if that were the case, Javier would love it.
However, Suzanne took ten dollars out of her wallet, and placed it on the table in front of Javier seriously.
"What do you think? Is this sincere enough for you? Thank you for the cold cash. Nothing is empty, thank you!”
Javier speechless. He had spent 3 million dollars just to buy evidence against Manny and Suzanne used ten dollars to thank him.
He thought about it again and felt fine since he had already gotten back those 3 million dollars from Samantha. Ten dollars is fine!
Without being polite, Javier put the ten-dollar bill in his pocket.
Suzanne's confused. It did not cross his mind that Javier would receive even ten dollars.
"Trs. Kersey, you're a millionaire and you won't even let ten dollars go. Aren't you a little stingy?”
Javier replied weakly, “I wouldn't pick ten dollars if I had a choice. I'd like to choose You-very precious – but you don't allow me! In that case, why should I reject it? I won't even have ten dollars if I don't want it and I'll go through all that trouble in vain.”
Suzanne patted her forehead speechlessly. "You're a real businessman."
Javier raised his glass and clinked it to Suzanne's glass once again. “Come, time to braid our hands and drink!”
There's no way Suzanne would do that. He wouldn't drink like that in front of so many people. Moreover, he had already forgotten if he agreed to this last time.
Whatever it was, he wasn't drinking it right now. Fortunately, Javier just teases her and doesn't really want anything from her. When the master chef serves the dish to them, Suzanne and Alyssa help themselves generously while continuing to praise the meal. Praise flowed around the table but fell silent after a while.
The two women who had attractive figures stuffed their faces without a care.
Whether they will have too much and gain weight because of it, they do not care. That would be a worry once they satisfied their appetite.
The blonde guy was so happy. He was finally able to learn something from a true master chef and he was very grateful for that. He even went to the table with the master chef and ended up drinking with everyone.
As dinner ended, Alyssa left with Herschel, Running Man, and GTR. No matter how relaxed he was, he would not do it one-on-three. He gets his girlfriend for Running Man and GTR. Javier, instead, drives Suzanne's car and sends the drunk woman to a nearby hotel.
It is no longer realistic to expect Suzanne to say where she lives because she can barely walk in a straight line. Javier thinks she's pretty tonight, especially right now! If only some passionate stories of passion could have happened while he was drunk …
