Herschel stepped on his van pedal. The car drove through the asphalt until it finally stopped outside an empty warehouse on the outskirts of town.
He went down, met his two subordinates who had stood up. They proved to be the ones Javier knew a bit - "Running Man" and "Gran Turismo Racer" - both Javier loved meeting this mother.
After greeting Javier in the most respectful manner, they both dragged the fake beggar into the warehouse while Javier stayed outside, lit another cigarette and had a casual chat with Herschel.
Ten minutes or more passed. Running Man emerged from the warehouse with his name freshly extracted.
Harold Dunn
Javier remembers Harold. He's the bastard he gave a little "physical education" when they met. It was meant as a deterrent and a small punishment for his sassness; a painful lesson that required about a hundred days of rest and physiotherapy to recover. Who knew Harold would see this as backing him into a corner of a madman? Well, he certainly doesn't like being "obstructed" right now, does he? Because the response was to send Javier to his grave!
"What should we do about Harold Dunn and the poor, boss?" Running Man asked.
While Javier didn't say anything, Herschel replied instead, “Bos we always like to reply to sentiment in the same way. Youunderstand?
Running Man nodded. "Of course."
Javier and Herschel returned to the van and left, though not before hearing gunshots coming out of the warehouse as the car drove away.
The poor man must have seen his end come. His fate has been sealed when he chooses to become a hitman. ,
That night, Lloyd Young took his usual seat behind a square-shaped table and ate his signature modest portion. He may have changed his dinner menu, but everything else in his routine has remained the same, including his kebhikkhuan ritual of eating slowly, magnificently, and steadily.
His secretary explained to him about his company's affairs before moving on to other things outside of his company's scope.
“There was a spy on Javier's affairs, as per my settings, and the latest information from the afternoon is that someone reportedly tried to kill Javier. However, before the hitman succeeded, he fainted from a flower pot that accidentally fell on him from above. ”
Lloyd grinned.
"Inadvertently." His secretary must have a way with words. This term is so underrated that it sounds funny. How many coincidences must be stacked against each other before the flower pot manages to land right on Javier's attacker's head?
However, he remained silent, following his serious eating habits.
Then, his secretary received a phone call and went to hear better.
A face forged with some shades of anxiety, the secretary reported, “Master. Young, this just came in: Harold Dunn died from a fall from the building. Murder, they say. The suspect, who has been detained by the authorities, turns out to be his own father.”
Lloyd stiffened up a little, though she wasn't surprised to hear about his death. It was natural to expect that from someone who had hired an assassin to kill someone else. Had Lloyd been the one to accept the attempted murder, he would have retaliated in the same way.
What puzzled him was why Harold had not died in an accident, but at the hands of his own father.
“According to our intel, Harold showed signs of sexual abuse towards his young stepmother when she came to visit him in the hospital. His father saw him when it happened, causing the older man to fight with his son. Then, in between the melee and chaos, his father accidentally drops Harold off the floor, and Dunn leaves.”
Lloyd finally put down his fork.
He has always abided by his silent etiquette, and now, he will not break the rules that he has held dear for years because of Javier Kersey.
Instead, she decided to stop eating dinner altogether, breaking another rule she realized she had broken after a while. He did not finish his meal as he should.
When the housekeeper came to pick up his plate, Lloyd instructed him after sipping his tea, “Save my untouched steak. Heat up again tomorrow morning for breakfast. I'd rather it wasn't in vain. ”
He then returned to his secretary. "Do you really think that's what happened?"
Frankly, the secretary thought it made sense. But the fact that Lloyd asked him directly meant he had to voice his reasoning. “It's hard to be sure, sir. He is capable of doing so, no doubt. Everyone in our circle knows he drugged his stepmother during that birthday party.”
Lloyd broke one of his personal principles when his fingers circled his fourth cigarette in a row.
“Yah, okay. Even my secretary thinks o, doesn't she? Give the dog a bad name and hang him, huh? ”
A man with a bad name was half-hung, because even when he was innocent or law-abiding, he had already decided not to do so, and no one could argue otherwise.
“If this is what Javier did, sir, don't you think we should... I don't know, don't provoke his anger? He is an animal completely different from us, We are legitimate; we are on the side of the law. But her? He... a gangster.”
The savages, that's what happened. A cruel savage man, at that.
The savage is also the biggest reason why Lloyd continues to break his rules tonight. He weighed his intel against his enemy, deciding again whether he should continue to do what they had done.
Lloyd was not afraid of the bloodshed this feud might bring. He was a soldier, so he had seen his fair share of blood and savagery, enough to conform to violence. But this is bigger than him. He must take into account the safety of his family as well. He fears that Javier's impunity and methods will go beyond his respectable limits.
As he turned off his cigarette coals with the ashes on his ashtray, he made a decision.
“Kersey is at least a man who respects boundaries. If we stay on our path, he won't cross his own path,” Lloyd said.
“He thought it was easy to finish me off, but during the small battle we stayed on the surface, I guess we won't lose.”
It was more of a small talk meant for itself than a fact. Lloyd has never feared anyone with criminal support before.
He had his own army in the seedy underworld. But this time it's different. He had to determine the extent of his battle against Javier.
The fact that Lloyd had to limit his battles in his homeland implies that he might lose.
It was a bitter pill to swallow, but Lloyd had to hold back and admit that he might be a little wary of Javier. The attack on his film, as well as Carmen's trip to the authorities, has given Lloyd a glimpse of the extent of Javier's retaliatory powers.
It only took him half a day to do all those things. And now, within half a day of Harold sending his assassin, Javier had sent Harold to his Creator.
Success is measured not only by results, but also by the speed of obtaining those results. Lloyd has put himself in Javier's shoes and concluded that even he may not act as quickly and decisively as his rivals.
Taking a deep breath to cover up the little bit of anxiety he was having, Lloyd asked, “There again?”
"
"Yes. Our Intel has come forward - Saoirse Rand, Vice President of Skyward Group, has resigned. Javier went to see him before he resigned, and he left because of him. He was looking for a scriptwriter to prepare for a film.
“Reivaj Advertising also founded another company, Reivaj Media.
Spending quite a bit of money on finding rising stars in businesses whose contracts are coming to an end as well, so it's safe to say they want to get into the film industry.
One has to wonder if they are specifically showing off to us.
“I've done some research on Reivaj Group as a whole, sir. The CEO is Chad Floyd McCool. The CFO is Mary Jane Gould. The chief doll is Jade Odell, who is also Javier's girlfriend. The real man behind the curtain, of course, is Javier Kersey himself. And now, with Saoirse Rand joining their ranks.”.
The secretary fell silent, seemingly trying to find the best word to summarize his findings, before adding, “They cannot be taken lightly.”
Lloyd massaged his temple. Secretary's right. Chad McCool, Mary Jane Gould, Saoirse Rand - all powerhouses from their own industries. Lloyd would love to spend such a high price on recruiting even one of them to act as the number two person in his company. Unfortunately for him, the three of them are somehow happy to be Javier's subjects.
It made Reivaj a legion of praetors, and fighting them was no easy feat. However, his silver lining was that Medb had always been Lloyd's headquarters. The strength of his company has always been in the film industry.
Javier's attempt to stick out his finger
the dirty and greedy here is a loud call for a war that Lloyd cannot ignore. He will make sure that Javier's dream of conquering the film industry ends up falling apart.
“They want to attract A-listers and big names, right? We will destroy that dream. We'll make sure their conquest ends here at
Medb!” Lloyd stated.
"Yes sir!"
The secretary then left. Lloyd stood in front of the window, his eyes staring far ahead at the flashing and bustling lights of metropolitan Medb.
“Nobody can beat me in a fair competition above the underworld, Javier,” he told himself.
“Even you are not.”
