The Rhyme of the Depositary

The Rhyme of the Depositary
054 - SEASON 2

Today, as Klayver had expected, Violin came to visit. He and James arrived at Alice's residence when it was noon. Luckily today Alice did not go anywhere so she could welcome her in-laws. It's just, Klayver's gone out of nowhere. Alice was forced to be stuck with her in-laws alone.

"How are you, Alice?" ask James in a fatherly tone.

The only thing Alice was grateful for was the arrival of Violin accompanied by her husband. For some reason, the man always brings a calming effect.

"good. What about you guys?" alice asked with a forced smile.

Rachel's problem still lingers in Alice's mind. Concentration is easy to break when facing others.

"Of course we always have an amazing day. Where's Klayver?" James looked around, looking for his son.

Alice grimaced confused. Two hours ago Klayver just said he wanted to get out. Alice did not know where her husband was.

"He's out for an interest. Should I call her now?" alice asked, trying to offer herself.

Maybe, if Alice asks Klayver to come home the man can come back soon. But he was worried that the business Klayver was doing was so important that he was afraid of disturbing him. What if it is related to the affairs of the pursuing parties Klayver?

"no need. He will definitely return. He already knew that we were coming here." James walked leisurely to the room that Alice had designated as their resting place.

Violin from earlier was just silent. He prefers to be an observer rather than actively making a chat. Now Alice knew where Klayver's cold demeanor was lowered from. From his mother, of course.

"You guys rest first. In an hour I will prepare lunch. If you need something, just press the button on the nightstand, later one of the waiters will help you."

Alice said kindly. She let her in-laws enter a large, specially designed room. The walls are cream-colored with abstract wallpapers at every corner. The bed is king size. A silver sheet neatly arranged as if offering extraordinary comfort.

James clucked complacently over the room Alice had given him. After his son-in-law left, he turned to his wife and said proudly.

"Look. Our daughter-in-law has great interior taste" he said.

Violin nodded approvingly and segea flopped down on the side of the bed. The two of them didn't know Klayver had designed this room.

"How do you think Alice is?" james asked seriously. He closed the door of the room casually and walked over to his wife.

"He seemed a little depressed by something. I hope their marriage doesn't have any problems. You know, James. I have raised high hopes for their marriage. Alice is a woman strong enough to keep up with our son. If their marriage breaks down, I'm afraid Klayver will lose his way back." Violin was honest.

He recalled Alice's conversation last time. At that time the Violins knew all about the situation of their marriage which was based on a superficial agreement. However, Violin has a strong idea that her son will make their marriage work. He could already read their clear-cut affection.

It's just that sometimes a person's hope is just a hope. Too often humans are disappointed with grandiose wishful thinking. Violin hopes she doesn't fall too deeply over the wishes she has regarding her son's marriage.

"Violin, trust me. I'm sure their marriage will work. Just like we used to." James smiled gently. His black eyes were glaring, beginning to recall many memories of his past. Their lives were not easy. James' marriage was the result of a marriage. Two years they had bland days before finally managed to love each other.

Everything in this world needs a struggle. Nothing is instant. Especially a wedding. Everything takes time to adjust.

An hour later, Violin and James descended into the dining room guided by William. The old servant managed to attract James' admiration. Even in his old age, there was an aura of power and loyalty that William had to look after this family. He's the kind of person who's gonna be loyal to death.

Alice had been sitting at the dining table welcoming them. By his side, there was a five-year-old little boy with a dark black eyeball full of curiosity.

"Greet Grandma, Axel!" Pinta Alice gently patted her son's shoulder.

Axel's eyes are getting round funny. He got down from the chair with some difficulty and walked hurriedly towards them.

"Mom said you were Grandma and Grandpa who came from New York. I'm Axel. I'm glad I finally have Grandma like my friends." Axel jumped happily. Alice who saw him could only smile a little. In his heart he grumbled because Axel was still too innocent so he did not know the identity of the two parents.

Violin smiled with great affection. Looking at the little boy who referred to him as Grandma, there was a blissful speck that was hard to explain.

"Hello, Champ! I'm glad to have a granddaughter like you," she said proudly and grabbed Axel's cute stocky body.

Alice looked at the scene with an erratic heartbeat. Violin is a cold person. It's hard to imagine that he can interact well with children.

"If I had Grandma, why would I have her now. Why not just from the past?" ask Axel plain. Alice was already about to stop her son from talking any further, but Violin held him back.

"Well, Grandma also hopes to get to know you earlier. But it will not surprise you. It's good to give a little surprise, isn't it?" Violin blinked one eye and lifted Axel in her carriage even higher. They were like two old friends who had met again. Alice did not expect Violin to have a natural character in dealing with children.

"May I visit you one day?" axel asked expectantly. The boy's eyes sparkled as if he had found someone he had long missed.

Alice's heart felt crumpled. He realized from the beginning, neither Anson nor Alice had any parents. The people around Axel were just them and the loyal servants. There had never been a grandfather or grandmother whom Alice could introduce to her son.

Seeing Axel being this happy, Alice felt guilty. The boy actually missed the situation like the other kids. Have a full family and complete siblings.

"Of course you can, honey. Do you want to come with us tomorrow? We'll be back in New York in two days." Now it's James' turn to chim.

Axel turned his head towards Alice, pleading without a word. The woman could only nod and a small cough covered her nervousness.

"Can, Mom? I've never been to New York," Axel asked.

"We'll talk about that later. Axel, it's time to eat. Go back and sit to Mom's side and let Grandma enjoy your uninterrupted lunch!" Alice said firmly.

Axel glanced at Violin and asked in a soft voice. "May I sit by Grandma's side?" tanyanya.

"Of course I can. You're Grandma's granddaughter, why can't you. Don't you think, Alice?" violin asked a little sharply.

Alright. This time Violin could no longer dodge. Weakly, he nodded in response to his son's request.

"alright. Be nice, Axel

Or I'll punish you."

Alice sat in the backyard this afternoon. Axel was busy playing with Violin and James. The boy even chose to take a nap in their room and happily, Violin accepted.

It's funny to imagine a woman as cold as Violin being warm and loving. It is too contradictory with his attitude all along.

It's just that, even though the woman indulged Axel excessively, but her attitude towards Alice was still a distance away. Truly a woman of double personality. Where does such a product come from?

Alice glimpsed the shadow of Susan who was busy tidying up the kitchen. Alice recalled that after yesterday's morning with Maxen, Susan's attitude towards her had not changed at all. Could it be that Maxen hasn't told her about the attack Alice did? Susan had no fear at all. He seems to have been calm for two days.

Alice remained silent for quite a while enjoying the twilight. After some time passed, he finally decided to call Susan personally and talk about the matter.

Alice stood up, stretched her muscles for a while and walked towards the nearby kitchen.

"Susan?" call him.

The stocky woman who was busy putting dishes into the washing machine automatically turned around in surprise and smiled a little.

"What's up, Alice?" tanyanya lightly.

Susan was not surprised to hear her employer's request. He nodded slightly releasing the white apron he had previously worn.

They went through several main rooms before finally arriving at a workspace that Alice usually uses to control her business.

Alice closed the door of the room so that the conversation could not be captured by anyone. He needs complete privacy at this time.

"Susan," Alice opened the conversation. He sat opposite his cook, bounded with a transparent glass table.

"Yes. Just tell me, Alice. I've been waiting for this moment." Susan answered softly. He looked at Alice full of understanding. Looks like Susan understands where this conversation is going.

"You know what I'm gonna talk about?" ask Alice not to believe it.

"Very know. Must be about me being Maxen's guy, right?" ask Susan directly on the topic.

Susan's face held no ill intent at all. Alice nodded for a long time. How could the woman before him be able to keep so many secrets without guilt? Who is Susan really?

"Who are you, Susan?" ask Alice not to believe it. How can anyone talk about her vices without being confused like Susan.

"I am Maxen's man. I was deliberately placed by Maxen long before. I informed Anson of every activity so Maxen could set up a method to finish him off."

Susan explained in a row. His eyes were glaring, harboring a lot of sadness. If there was a choice, Susan would never have chosen to be in this situation. But unfortunately, life has so much set up the scenario that it gets stuck in a state of powerlessness.

"Why?" alice asked not to understand.

Susan smiled a little. He re-opened many old memories that stifled the chest.

"Because I owe my life to Maxen. He saved me and my baby once, when everyone chose to go and abandon us." Susan's eyes were glazed.

Ten years ago, a young man in his early twenties had saved him from a strange situation.

Susan is a rape victim who was dumped by her family. She was forcibly married to the father of her fetus and lived a life of great torment.

Countless more how many tears were shed. Countless more how many blows he got, the violence he received, and the abuse he experienced.

Everything feels like hell. Her husband was both a drunk and a phedophil. His house is like the most dreadful place of torment. Every day she heard the screams of the children who were raped by her husband or the screams of her own heartache because of the punches and lashes that the man gave her.

No one acted. The police chose silence not to take care of the lowly dilapidated family. People are just busy watching Susan's fate. His family could only reproach and blame Susan.

Life feels like a painful poison. Every road he walked was full of thorns. Tears have become his best friend. The pain is rooted in the pins in the veins.

Until then, Susan's child was born with a heart defect. His life won't last long. Susan didn't know if it was because of the violent factor she often got or because of other factors.

"Although my son still can't live long, but at least he has beautiful last days. Maxen found me in a critical state when I was between life and death. He helped me, lifted me up from a dilapidated place, and provided a proper place to live."

That night her husband tortured Susan blindly. Alcohol has driven him crazy. Even her own baby she whips with a belt.

Finally, with endless pain and pain, Susan walked down the street under the drizzle of rain. He stumbled like a king who was expecting help. Three hospitals refused. Susan didn't have enough cards or enough money so she couldn't go through normal procedures.

On the side of the road in her nightly gulit, Susan was crying alone. A baby in his hand was writhing weakly. The dried blood from the side of his son's face seemed to be the saddest sight.

Susan committed suicide with her baby. Death seemed to be friendlier to him than the difficult life the world had to offer.

Then, in a tense moment, a car stopped on the side of the road. The driver was a young man in an expensive army suit. He walked quickly towards her and said one thing.

"Madam, what's wrong with you? Are you in trouble? Can I help you?"

That's when Susan looked up at her god of help tonight, and swore that if the man reached out, he would give her whatever she had for her payment. Even if his own life.

"I owe it to Maxen, Alice. I swore I would do anything for her. Then, a year after the incident my son died of congenital heart disease. That's when he asked me to be an intruder in Anson's family and spy on him."

Susan had no choice. He accepts Maxen's request and does everything he can.

"Since then, whenever Anson goes out or has an important agenda, I inform Maxen. Maxen will then prepare a way to kill him. Several times he had tried to kill Anson, but only succeeded a year and a half ago."

Susan was silent for a long time. He looked at Alice's pale face. It must not be easy for Alice to hear every word. Susan looked like her own daughter.

"Susan, how can you do all that? Wouldn't you be afraid if I brought you to justice for your actions?" ask Alice weakly. Tears are flowing down. Showing the deepest part.

All circumstances have turned around. Alice was forced to look at things from another point of view. A crime always has a reason. Alice's humanity was being gnawed.

"When I get into Anson's life, I'm ready for all the consequences. If at any time I get killed or go to jail, I take it with a chest. Alice, I know you tried to take out Maxen yesterday. Some of his men survived to tell me this. But I chose to stay here and accept all the consequences. If I were a coward, I'd have chosen to run away from yesterday."

Susan has signed a deal by betting lives. He no longer cares about many things.

"Do you have no conscience, Susan? You gave me information that night that Klayver went to the party, didn't you?"

Susan was heavy. He looked at Alice and nodded small.

"Yes. A week before the agenda, I informed Maxen. You remember, Alice. I also informed you when Anson went to LA. That time the young man who hit Anson was Maxen's scenario. Unfortunately, Anson just lost his memory."

Susan has admitted everything. The mental load he had was a little loose. How many years has he held all this back just for the sake of return? If she says her morals are unencumbered, then Susan is a hypocrite.

Alice smiled wryly. He clasped his chest with pain. Betrayed by the closest people, it feels very piercing. Susan has been regarded as family. Every word he said left a deep sorrow that was difficult to heal.

"Susan, why are you doing all this?" alice asked not to understand. He sobs slowly. I remember when Anson lost his memory. If the young man managed to kill Anson, of course at that time what Alice heard was the news of his death. Thinking about it all made Alice's heart fucked.

"Because Maxen is my baby's savior. I know I don't deserve to apologize to you, Alice. But if time goes back around, I'll still do whatever it takes for the person who helped me." Susan is down inside.

Maybe after this he will go to jail. Or maybe it'll be 'silenced' by Klayver. Now Susan knows Klayver isn't a random person.

"I heard from Maxen you tried to beg him not to take my life. Why, Susan?" alice asked, remembering something.

Susan blinked a few times and smiled bitterly. He never thought Alice would know such details.

"Because ...." Susan went deeper. Clear water began to fall slowly as evidence of defeat. "Because I've considered you my own daughter. Your loss is very painful for me. I have committed a sin for leading Anson to his death. At the very least, protecting you is the last step to save the rest of my guilt."

Silent. Two women sobbing in a heartache. Betrayal will always be stifling. There is no medicine in this world that can reduce the pain of being betrayed. Alice did not know what steps she would take.

However, however, Susan still leaves a side of kindness that she has. Killing her directly was obviously impossible for Alice. Weakly, Alice said slowly.

"It's hard for me to forgive you, Susan. Go then! Pack your things and never come in front of me again."

Alice said bitterly. He couldn't send Susan to jail. This is the step he can take. Everyone always has the other side. There can never be evil without good reason.
