The Rhyme of the Depositary

The Rhyme of the Depositary
028 - SEASON 2

William pulled Alice behind his back. He pulled out a gun from behind the shirt he was wearing and aimed at them.

The night sky is a silent witness to a new tragedy.

As powerful as William was, a single gun would never be able to fight the dozens of pistols that pointed at them. William's efforts were a futile effort. Alice learns of this fact and immediately closes her eyes, expecting a new miracle.

Inwardly, Alice was grateful Axel was not caught up in this situation. At least the boy's safe with Rachel. Far from a place of tragedy.

A woman in her sixties walked forward among a group of people dressed in dark clothes. It seems he is the prime mover. Next to his hand waved softly, telling his men to lower the weapons.

"Where's Klayver?" the tan was loud, breaking the silence of the night.

Alice was still standing behind William. He did not even dare to take a breath carelessly. The aura here turned like a massacre.

"Who are you?" ask William. Sound steady. Not intimidated by difficult conditions.

"People call me The Queen." He walked forward, not worried by the gun William pointed at him.

The woman has strength and confidence. Seeing her attitude like this, Alice recalled Klayver. They were like two people with a lot in common.

"You can't enter someone else's house and threaten in this way with bars." William said boldly. His gun was still firmly held, even though the other party had lowered the weapon from earlier.

"I can do everything I want." The Queen said lightly, as if she was visiting an old friend. The killing aura slowly began to faint. No longer as strong as it was.

"I want Klayver. Where is he?" ask The Queen back. He's getting impatient. The end of his flat shoes he tapped several times on the ground of the yard.

"He was out for two days. Nor do we know where he is now." William answered diplomatically. He did not want to cover up the facts.

Either because The Queen could smell William's honesty, or whether she chose to believe it, she gave a small nod and had one of her subordinates lead Alice into the room.

"Replace the electrical system!" tell it to the others.

Alice walks in the dark with William. They were directed to the living room with a small flashlight carried by one of the members of The Queen's men. Seeing their large numbers, William tried to be realistic and returned to storing his weapons.

The servants were directed to another room, separate from them. Alice heard some people screaming at each other in fear. The atmosphere is really stressful.

The Queen's. Alice remembered this name. The name that Daniel gave him as the party that hired Daniel to look for Klayver's identity. So it turns out that woman was one of Klayver's hunters.

Is Klayver that attractive that old lady seems interested in looking for her? Oh God. Totally complex.

Shortly after, the lights came back on. The Queen approached them with a sharp look. His eyes had a golden eye color like Klayver's. This woman, if observed further, so it feels not too foreign. Who the hell is he?

"Are you his wife?" ask The Queen. His gaze was sharp, scrutinizing all corners of Alice's face.

"Yes. Are you going to kill me too?" ask Alice boldly. His fear is on the threshold. It was good that he expressed pent-up worries.

Instead of answering, The Queen simply laughed softly. She sat down like a queen on a chair in front of them. His wiggly fingers toyed with his pistol gracefully. The tips of the nails he polishes with a color as red as blood.

"You're the lure for Klayver. I'm not interested in finishing you off. I don't really like corpses. If I don't, I won't kill. But if things are forced, I have no other choice" he said in disgust.

Imagining a bloody corpse made The Queen's face look gloomy. Dealing with the corpse is always a hassle. He's not very enthusiastic.

"Lantas, what's your goal, ma'am?" William asked with dignity. One of his hands was ready to pick up a gun at any time.

"Meet and form an agreement with Klayver" he said lightly. The Queen looked at Alice back full of interest. She was still shocked to discover that this woman was Klayver's wife. When did the man get conquered?

Alice has a deadly beauty. Who could stand a woman like this? The beauty she has is not just physical beauty. Not at all simple.

"If it's just forming an agreement, why bring so many people to intimidate us?" William asked doubtfully. The woman before him was too complex. He must carefully compensate.

"Because he's not easy to accept a deal. What I ask for is a big thing about him. So to get him to agree, I used your lives as barter. If he's not smart enough to accept, don't blame me for your deaths."

Alice bit her tongue silently. He begins to understand where The Queen is headed. So, the woman accidentally lures Alice out and hopes to hold her off first as a medium of exchange for the Klayver deal. But unfortunately Klayver is not here so inevitably The Queen has to wait for the figure to return.

Alice and William straight up from their seats. Alice glanced at William as if wanting to express the worry she had without a sound. William is no better. He clasped Alice's hand and nodded weakly, giving her strength.

The Queen immediately stood up, understanding that the car must have been a sign of Klayver's return. He glanced at his men and issued an order.

"Say my wife and bodyguard have been taken captive. If he wants to negotiate peacefully, don't hurt a single person from our organization. And you, take the old man's gun!"

The Queen appoints one of her subordinates to take over the gun that William still keeps. While other subordinates immediately ran to welcome Klayver's return and convey what the Queen wanted.

"Send!" the order of a man in dark clothes. One hand pointed a gun at William, the other pointed down, giving William the direction to throw his weapon on the floor.

William was pensive for a while. He was not willing to give up his weapons. After all, this was the only protection for them at the moment. Giving up, doesn't that mean it's the same as breaking life expectancy?

Alice who understood William's dilemma patted William's arm to calm down. After all, a single weapon could never defend itself from dozens of weapons. William's whole bullet was only capable of killing a few people.

They remain outnumbered. It would be better for them to follow the will of The Queen early on. In this way, maybe they can be invited to work together.

"It's okay, Will," Alice gently persuaded.

William closed his eyes, feeling helpless before finally throwing the gun on the floor. The Quenn's men immediately secured the weapon and retreated vigilantly. It seems that these people are really trained.

The sound of footsteps of some people was heard approaching them. Alice sharpened her eyesight and turned to the door that connected this room with the next room.

There, Klayver was seen entering the room escorted by many people from The Queen's organization.

Right now, the only thing Alice saw from Klayver was the coldest look in her eyes as long as she knew him. Her smile curved beautifully, like a hidden challenge to The Queen. He looked towards Alice. His gaze softened a little. Make Alice's heart splashed with a new coolness.

Klayver's gaze calmed Alice down and conveyed wordlessly that everything would be fine. Alice could only hold on to Klayver's expression to keep her sanity alive. This situation had really suppressed his mentality.

"You're too cunning. Arresting my wife and butler" Klayver said in a sharp tone.

The Queen chuckled, not feeling guilty at all. He looked at Klayver with a small smile. Her eyes sparkled with happiness as she looked at Klayver.

From the way Klayver interacts, it seems like they know each other. Alice hoped that this matter would not drag on and bring a lot of bad effects. Klayver must be too smart. He could definitely save Alice from this situation.

"Therefore, follow my will. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind getting them to wave their hands at the breath of life."

The Queen's sentence was delivered lightly. But it has a very deep meaning. Anyone in this room knows that his words are not just a game. There is a deep meaning.

"From a long time ago, you always pulled me back to your side. I'm pretty bored with all the ways you use it. Unfortunately, I like to move on my own. Don't force me back to you. Between us, there's no relationship anymore."

Alice simply listened to their conversation in silence. He's not squeaky at all. From Klayver's words, signifying that they are old acquaintances. If Alice can conclude, The Queen attempts to entice Klayver to return with her but is rejected by the man.

"I've been looking for you for a long time. I didn't think Klayver was the alias you were going to use. How many years haven't we met, Tristan? Eight years? Should I explain how long it's eight years? Much has happened in that time?" The Queen stared at the ceiling of the room.

His eyes seemed to be staring faintly, as if he was stuck in old nostalgia.

Alice pensive. Their relationship is very complex. Could Tristan be Klayver's real name?

If Klayver had cut off contact for eight years. That meant their relationship was longer than Alice had expected.

Alice guessed Klayver's thirties. Eight years ago, Klayver was twenty-two. From there the relationship of The Queen and Klayver has been formed. Who is that woman really?

"Don't be so long disobedient to me. Come back to me and let's make other things better. I've been looking for you for so long. If you still survive leaving me, I'll kill him with my own hands."

The Queen pointed a gun at Alice. This time there was no relaxed tone in his voice. His eyes were filled with sincerity. The killing intent emanated clearly from his two golden netra.

Alice swallowed hard. The handgun's cock is ready to be pulled by the Queen's fingers.

"That's enough of a threat, Mom. After all, he's your son-in-law."
