The Rhyme of the Depositary

The Rhyme of the Depositary
135 - SEASON 2

Luiz came out of prison with a gallant and haughty attitude. He turned to some of his men who were walking with him. A satisfied smile was painted on his face, showing just how much life had made him grasp great power and power. Even the law can buy.

"Congratulations, Shenor. For your freedom."

"Congratulations, Shenor. You deserve this gift."

"Congratulations to you, my lord."

Each of his men bowed deeply, paying a warrior-like tribute to the emperor. Luiz flicked next to his suit arrogantly and walked straight without adoing their pleasantries

The man was designed to be able to mince words for the sake of his boss. In the world that Luiz lived in, she realized that rarely anyone sincerely did anything for her. Everyone has a motive in carrying out every command of Luiz. Some are because of coercion, money, or certain lure. Everything is based on fear, or ambition to get something. Never had Luiz found anyone loyal to her selflessly. Absolutely pure faithful without frills. Luiz's life was used to dictating to someone with something, so his men were also used to doing something because it was dictated.

It's all just a matter of transaction. Luiz had to grasp the essentials of the people nearby, then he could control them completely. That's how Luiz worked all this time.

"Master, you're free. What about Liza? Should I arrange for people to take care of their problems to be released immediately from prison?" ask a senior who knew Liza a long time ago. Luiz turned to the man and frowned dislikeingly.

"Just let the woman rot in jail. I need to teach her a lesson by letting Liza be behind bars for some time so she can eliminate her own sensitive side. He needs a direct education. If necessary, pay the men who are in the women's prison to give him a blow. He should be made aware if following me is the best move."

Luiz entered the metallic car that picked her up. He shook his hand, sending some of his men away. Instantly they retreated regularly and chose to enter another car behind Luiz.

In the car, a driver in a formal suit bowed deeply as an extravagance. The old man at the end of the four heads showed an empty face. He had been a Luiz driver long before. All the characters and attitudes of his master had been memorized out of his head. He was already not too surprised by all the acts of Luiz who was often against the law.

"Do you agree with me, Leandro? Liza should occasionally be left behind bars. He should see a different mood than usual." Luiz asked while turning on a cigarette that had been given by one of his men who doubles as a bodyguard.

"Whatever it is as long as you think it's best, sir." Leandro, the driver just follows whatever his employer thinks.

Luiz is a selfish person who only hears opinions from himself. He is a narcissist. Asking Leandro about his decision was just unnecessary talk. After all, he would still make his decision as long as Luiz thought it was good even though everyone was against him

"good. Goody. You're my most reasonable man," praised Luiz.

Next to Luiz's feet he pulled and placed crosswise over the other leg. He smiled slightly, staring at the scene on the side of the road presented through the car window. One scene changed another very quickly. It leaves Luiz distraught and trapped in his complex mind.

Liza is one of his assets that can be a powerful weapon. Luiz sometimes did not need to explain in detail every point every time he told Liza to do something. The woman has been programmed automatically to accept every will, even the smallest thing.

But something is starting to get different lately. Luiz realized Liza was beginning to show a depressed reaction every time she did an order from him. She's not the Liza she used to be. A robot woman willing to do anything for Luiz. Every time he heard the order from her, the woman's expression looked dislike and burdened.

Liza was a smart person to hide her expression, but the woman would never be able to hide anything from Luiz. How could one possibly hide the secret from Luiz's laser-like sharp eyes?

The criminal business that Luiz has started is a very tough business. He was dealing with dirty transactions all the time and often faced with the law or death. People who have sensitive hearts are their biggest weakness. Hearts are not needed here. A living conscience will only make a person retreat from a dark life and choose to live an ordinary life that has no challenges at all. That's not very interesting.

Luiz fingered Liza starting to enter this stage. He looks depressed when assigned a mission by Luiz. The woman's conscience began to live on apparently. I don't know what made Liza like this. Luiz doesn't like it when his trusted men start doubting his every command. He is the boss. It should have been one word from him that could have brought others to their knees in submission.

Money and position must be achieved by doing some things. Power does not belong to those who are weak and loving. Too weak would only be eliminated by nature. Every process in this world requires great sacrifice.

"Shenor, are we going back to Brazil soon, or is it still necessary to be in Manhattan for some time?" leandro asked, looking at Luiz from the rearview mirror a little uncomfortable.

Manhattan is not a Luiz area although here the man has good connections. Leandro just wishes they could come back soon and focus on tackling business in Brazil, where their roots really are.

"I need to solve a special case. We have to stay here, at least for the next month." Luiz answered seriously. He was busy thinking about his business.

"All right, sir." Leandro nodded obediently. He's a smart guy. Ten years with Luiz has made him know which ones he can and cannot ask in detail.

Liza stared at the ceiling of the prison clinic with a nano look. His whole body felt crumpled. An infusion hose was stuck in his left arm. Some bruises are clearly visible in the corners of his face, arms, and legs.

Earlier this afternoon for a trivial reason, he was beaten up by a dozen women in the dining room. The reason was simple, a tray belonging to another prisoner fell nearby, making many people look at Liza and accuse her of being a troublemaker. A group of women known as the main gang in the prison immediately beat him and let Liza battered until finally the prison warden tried to separate them all.

Liza can't fight back. He could have defended himself. Martialism is not just a science that has no function at all. At least by fighting back, his injuries weren't this severe.

But he remembered, he got a warning from Luiz. The man deliberately let Liza stay in prison and was forbidden to release her martial skills on the grounds that her identity was not revealed. Liza could only follow Luiz's words. Although in Liza's heart was conscious, it seemed that Luiz had indeed deliberately made a devious plan for Liza.

It was easy for Luiz to get him out of jail. Paying a guarantee for yourself Luiz alone is easy. Moreover, just removing the men whose criminal actions are not as big as Luiz. But for some reason, the man chose not to take Liza out and let Liza rot in prison.

Luiz is a man of intrigue. It was impossible for him to allow a situation to happen without a specific intention. Plus he gave a strong warning so that Liza would not bring out her martial skills. For moreover Luiz said so, if not intending to let Liza crumble slowly. With the Liza family in Brazil, Luiz has the power to hurt them. Liza inevitably had to follow all of Luiz's words.

Merely, Luiz's words were a trap for Liza. The man has a purpose of his own. Liza can't help but feel it. What exactly does Luiz mean and want with this situation?

"You have to take care of yourself, Miss. The prison is the place where the law of the jungle takes place. Who is strong, he is king. If you want to survive, as much as possible succumb to every situation. Indeed, many people have to suffer because of small things." Marta, a general practitioner who handles Liza, gives her advice.

The thirty-five-year-old has long seen the system in place in women's prisons. In a place like this, there was no difference like the male world that was largely judged by physical strength. Prisons are places where predators nest arrogantly.

"Thank you, Doctor. I'll remember your message." That was the only answer Liza was able to give behind the pain that was now afflicting her.

"You're a beautiful woman. Don't let your soul be broken in this place. Hold on so you can get out of prison with a sense of victory. In time, you'll know how much freedom costs." Marta still gives advice that this time not reciprocated by Liza.

Why get out of prison if what awaits him is another prison that is even more frightening in the form of Luiz Martinez?
