The Rhyme of the Depositary
ELEVEN

This morning Alice was supposed to go visit the hospital. William had contacted him an hour ago to inform him that Anson would be allowed to return to New York later in the day. He can continue therapy with the outpatient system after his return.

But Alice was still motionless, lying prostrate on the bed. His body screamed out in protest each time his joints were used. His strength was almost drained out of nothing. It seemed like his physical condition had undergone an anti-climax.

After ten more days of rest and minimal food intake, emotions were turned upside down in the face of Anson and all the corporate burdens he controlled from here on out, finally, Alice's physical no longer able to support. His stomach condition was no better. He's getting uncomfortable. It turns out that excess caffeine intake can be very painful. The stomach acid must have skyrocketed.

With a limp motion, Alice forced herself down from the bed, cleared herself lightning and prepared to go to the hospital.

The two-block drive from her hotel felt very long and excruciating for Alice. He was forced to stop at some point to normalize his bodily functions. Some people who saw Alice's condition offered to help, but were immediately rejected by her.

Alice grimaced in pain after successfully arriving at Anson's nursery. He finds Anson sitting alone at the side of the bed, talking about giving some orders about his work to the person Alice suspects to be under him via cell phone. Basic workaholic. It still hurts his tone sounds arrogant. He seems to be the perfectionist boss. Alice was tempted to feel sympathy for everyone who was her work.

"Hi Alice" said Anson after realizing Alice's arrival. He disconnected the connection and placed the phone on the left side.

"For Anson. Has your condition improved? I heard from William that you were allowed to go home this afternoon" said Alice, walking slowly to a chair not far from Anson.

"Yes. We can go home today. I've arranged our flight later." Really a regulatory guy.

Anson looked at Alice, observing her paled-looking face.

"Are you okay?" ask Anson worried.

Alice was a little touched by Anson's attention.

"Yes. Just a little tired I guess. I have stomach acid that goes up easily." and caffeine lovers too of course. Alice felt a little guilty.

"Check the IGD. Your face looks like a corpse. Call William to accompany you to the IGD downstairs," Anson suggested, making Alice's heart grow.

"No. I'm absolutely fine," Alice refused politely.

They remained silent for quite a while. For twenty minutes here, that was the only talk that happened. Anson is back with his cell phone. Alice looked at Anson in despair. Their relationship will never go anywhere. There is nothing that makes them able to defend each other.

"Anson. I want to talk to you."

Anson stopped her cell phone activity, focusing her eyes on the woman.

"Is there a problem?" Anson asked flatly.

"No. We have no problem. There's nothing between us now."

Alice looked at Anson, begging for understanding.

"Anson. I think our relationship will never improve. We'll only be stuck with each other if we keep doing this. I thought, we better stop all this, "lack Alice. He moved both of his hands helplessly.

"Alice, I'm sorry. But my memory is still not restored. I just need a little time to get to know you again." There's a little guilt from Anson.

"It's not just about your memory Anson. But our situation has changed a lot. I don't want to continue a bland relationship."

Anson seemed to understand Alice's way of thinking. He was silent for a long time thinking about something.

"We can't be that quick to end Alice's relationship, you're my future fiance, which means our relationship is serious enough to enter the marriage ladder. I can't just be rash to decide that."

Alice laughed bitterly. His lies were weapons that attacked him alone. Had Anson known who Alice really was, she would have been kicked out from the day Anson opened her eyes.

"No, Anson. I really want to end this relationship. If later we still have a chance, I think we can rethink it more seriously," Alice said firmly. He didn't want to prolong this conversation.

If Alice had to lose Anson, at least she would have let go of him with great pride. Sick, really. But many things in this world will still be taken from us regardless of how our emotions maintain them.

Alice stood up, intending to leave Anson. He's done his business here. Nothing else is asking for it. After this Alice will book a flight back to New York via commercial plane. He won't take the chance to go home with Anson.

Alice's gaze suddenly blurred. His body felt extremely light and cold sweat started to appear. Alice reached out in all directions trying to find a grip. He heard Anson screaming in worry before the darkness took him away.

...

Alice recalled some of the previous events. Looks like he fainted. His body chose the wrong time to give up.

Alice realizes Anson's whereabouts next to her bed. The man had changed into a short-sleeved dongker shirt. Apparently Alice's fainted condition was long enough to give Anson time to take care of the administrative details. Now they switch roles. Alice becomes a patient and Anson becomes a companion.

In addition to Anson, there stood also a female doctor who was not far from them with a chained stethoscope. He brought something in his field.

"You awake? feel better?" ask Anson.

"Yes. I'm just tired and too much caffeine I guess." Alice smiled apologetically.

Alice frowned feeling the turmoil in her stomach. Damnit. Acid reflux is problematic. He did eat nothing but a big cup of coffee this morning on his way here.

"Md. White, your stomach acid is a problem. But what's causing your condition to drop is your pregnancy" explains a female doctor who introduces herself as Jennie.

"Pregnant?" Anson and Alice asked simultaneously.

"Yes. Congratulations Ms. White, you've been positively pregnant. Your pregnancy has entered the beginning of the seventh week," she handed him a small device as a pregnancy indicator. Anson took it very carefully.

"From now on try to provide a good intake and vitamins for your fetus. And please limit the consumption of caffeine. Overall, your condition is nothing problematic except your stomach acid. By taking medication and eating a regular diet, surely everything will improve" he said.

Alice was silent in disbelief. He thought that the call overlapped.

"Dok. Could there be a mistake? I have always taken the pill before. Only once did I forget to eat it. But I've replaced it with post-related pills. Shouldn't this be happening?" Alice asked confusedly. Seven weeks. If judging from the age of the fetus, it is likely that it occurred at the beginning of Alice's relationship with Anson first.

"Post coital pills can delay ovulation and prevent pregnancy with a success rate of ninety-five percent if taken before twenty-four hours after sexual activity. But it will not be able to prevent pregnancy if there has been a previous fertilization. In addition, medical always has a risk of failure. You become one of the cases, for example," he explained to give an understanding.

After giving some additional advice, Dr. Jennie nodded her head, asking herself out of the room to leave them. He had given a number of vitamins that Anson had received for Alice to consume.

Alice displeased. His stomach condition was starting to be uncomfortable since his flight to this place. But Alice thought it was all just the effects of fatigue and the burden of the mind. If it is admitted, Alice has not got her period since her sexual activity with Anson. He did not think much of it because his menstrual cycle was always chaotic if Alice was under stress. He thinks it's all natural.

It was unexpected that now a life had grown in his womb.

"Alice," call Anson sharp. Alice was uncomfortable with the way Anson called her.

"That's my son, isn't it? That fetus is mine?" anson asked looking for the truth in Alice's expression.

"Where do you think the other boy is, Anson? You think I'm a cheap woman who throws my body into every man's bed I meet?" Alice answered in frustration. The man will always think the worst of himself.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." Anson rubbed Alice's frail arm, as if channeling her powers.

"I'm willing to do a DNA test after this baby's born so you can trust him, Anson." Alice offered herself.

"No. I trusted you. Sorry," Anson said. She gently rubbed Alice's stomach feelingly, as if greeting her future child. Alice felt stifled, she should be grateful Anson's memory had not returned completely. At least for now Anson thinks that this fetus they created with love, not in a cheap way. Maybe Anson wouldn't have reacted this gently if he knew what kind of truth they had.

"Alice. I don't think you can ask for our relationship to end once we know there's a developing fetus right now." Anson said firmly. He doesn't want to be disputed.

"Yes. Maybe we can do the same thing after this." Alice understood Anson's line of thought. He also did not want to be selfish.

"We're getting married soon" Anson replied.

Alice looked at Anson in disbelief. He screamed in fear.

"NO!" alice shouted in despair.
