This morning Alice got word that Harry had been on the run for several days since Maxen's case came to the surface.
Harry knew himself well. It was he who had fed Maxen to Klayver that there was a commotion and ended up with Rachel's entrance to the hospital.
Afterwards, the man secures himself by going off the trail. Maybe he was afraid Maxen would make the calculations with him, or was worried Klayver would finish him off because he was judged to be unfaithful.
Klayver has said blatantly only a man who has no loyalty can betray his own brother. Klayver could have killed Harry at any time because Harry no longer had any use. Although Harry doesn't know who Klayver really is, he's still scared. His boss was emitting such a terrifying aura that people within his reach always felt intimidated.
Klayver was not at all surprised to hear Harry's escape. With his cowardice, Harry was strange if he did not run away. Harry is a man of self-importance above all things. His ego is too high. A typical person who is easy to betray his own friends. For aoa such a person is maintained. Klayver was even tempted to kill him if he saw Harry right in front of his eyes.
Maxen, who knew Harry's attitude, could only silence him. A few days ago Alice revealed her own character. Maxen preferred silence. Rachel who found out about it has been tearing up from yesterday.
"Harry left without clarity after he deliberately fed himself to Maxen. Greatable. Really great. Sometimes I wonder how I fell in love with a guy like that." Rachel looked at Maxen with an unacceptable look. Today is Maxen's last day with him. Tomorrow, he'll turn himself in to the legal establishment.
"That's it. His character is like that. Didn't I tell you from the beginning, your man is a coward." Maxen gave a small smile, no longer surprised at Harry's development.
From the very beginning, after the Maxen massacre, Alice has been told that it was Harry who had revealed evidence of Maxen's transactions and relationships with all of Anson's deaths.
Rachel did not expect it. For him, the blood bond was the strongest bond. To hear Harry indulge in the depravity of his own brother, even though it was a fact, was beyond belief.
A person who is unfaithful to the bonds of blood is one who can never be loyal to anything. Harry could have left Rachel at the wedding. Harry never thought about Rachel's situation and thought only of himself. Because the man basically has a very high selfishness.
In Harry's eyes, in Harry's heart, all of his focus was on self-interest. There was nothing he could sacrifice for anyone else even if it was a person who was acknowledged to be his love.
Luckily, the man did not marry Rachel. Something he considered a tragedy, now turned into a gift. Harry's abandonment in the final seconds of the wedding has left Rachel finding a better way to live. At least, with Maxen he's living life as it is. No pretenses and idle theatrics. Something he would rather choose than live stuck with Harry without end.
"Do you regret having a sister like her?" rachel asked suddenly.
Rachel herself felt regretful for having known Harry so deeply. So that he got stuck on all the hassle that the man gave himself.
Rachel doesn't hate the complexity of life. He is quite accustomed to facing difficult conditions so it is not easy to fall just because he meets the steep road of life.
What he does not like is to undergo difficult conditions because of someone and left without care. That's what hurts the most.
"Rachel, each character is formed by a circumstance. Sometimes I think, maybe it's the past that has made her personality that way. He was too young when our family was massacred with a bloody massacre by Anson. Perhaps, his psyche had become frail ever since that incident."
Maxen stared out through the window. Morning light refracts sunlight from the eastern horizon. Forming golden orange colored stripes.
"But didn't you experience something similar? You're strong enough to face it. Harry should be like you, too."
Maxen was silent for a long time. The Anson massacre has been going on for a long time. Many years ago. Maybe there's even ten years. But the pain is still deep. Like a root trying to be forcefully removed from the ground. Suffocate.
"I'm strong because my focus is on getting revenge. Harry had no focus. Perhaps, his life began to drift from that moment on. His desire to protect himself was greater. Unfortunately, he protected himself by taking down others. Including dropping me, her own brother."
Harry from childhood used to be spoiled in every way. He was used to being totally protected because he was the youngest child in the family. Until then was born twins from another wife of his father who did not know where his father took from. Since then, his selfish attitude began to appear slowly.
It was as if Harry had never been willing to have any other attention his family gave to others. Because of howun too, the twin baby sister embraces greater attention than Harry.
Maxen thought it was just a momentary jealousy. But gradually Harry's character becomes irritating. He is humorous and friendly, but behind it is a true egomania. His bad character is covered by a perfectly outer mask.
"I just found out Harry's character is that bad." Rachel looked down inside. How many years had he been in a relationship with Harry but the results were like this? If he had known, Rachel would have retreated from the beginning before he gave it all up to a brengsek man like him.
"Anyway, he's still my brother. It doesn't change this reality." Maxen smiled slightly, embracing his wife in a warm embrace. The characteristic aroma of shampoo outshines from his wife's hair. Remind Maxen of their bridal night. At that time, Rachel also gave off the same aroma as now.
"You don't hate him?" Rachel curious.
"No." How could he hate someone who has the same blood as himself.
The only thing he hated in the family was his own father. The man was too good at acting. Hundreds of times he did bad things and the ones who received the impact were his children and wives. He is also an unfaithful man. Unfortunately, of all the women, he actually married a good woman. So that makes Maxen inevitably feel sympathy for his father's three wives. Including his own mother who is currently in the afterlife.
"After revenge, do you ... still hate Anson?" Rachel jerks Maxen with an unexpected question. The woman clasped her fingers tightly, afraid that what she had just said made her husband angry.
"I hated him so much. But after I finished off Anson and her two children, I. There's no emotion here anymore." Maxen pointed at his chest. His face looks flat.
"The revenge does not produce anything. Not calm, not contentment. Especially happiness. Now, I can understand that maybe Anson did it because of the same circumstances as me. He was grudging for a long time. His family was slaughtered by my father. No wonder he demanded blood as well. Unfortunately, he destroyed my two baby sisters. That's what hurts the most."
The shadow about the two babies aged a few months and still very funny makes Maxen's heart scratched with a taste of poignancy. They are the most innocent creatures and have no right to be tainted by the cruelty of the world. How could Anson have slammed him too. It's all too horrible. Luckily Maxen was in boarding school at the time. Otherwise, he might have already gathered together with his current extended family in another realm.
"I've known Anson, Maxen. Back then, when Alice married her, I saw Anson as appreciative and affectionate with the children. Maybe, this is just my guess. Anson could have killed your baby brother by accident. But even then, they are in an improper situation. It's easy for them to be hit by bullets or accidentally pressed to death."
Rachel tried to get her opinion out. Anson has a daughter named Kimberly. Rachel had memorized the affection Anson had for the child. Imagining Anson slaughtering a baby head-on is completely beyond Rachel's shadow.
"Maybe it could be like that. After I killed Anson's children, sometimes, there were regrets, too. Come to think of it, they shouldn't be dragged into the hassle of their parents' grudges. I imagine that if my son was dragged into a tragedy by my own fault, it would be very hurtful. After all, he was still too holy and stained with the cruelty of the world."
Maxen stroked Rachel's stomach gently, hoping that if she was allowed to have another baby, she would live a normal and fine life. Enough of all the hassle he had. Don't let her child bear heavy burdens because of her. It's so unfair.
"If we have children later, our children will grow up well, Maxen. I promise." Rachel clasped Maxen's hand and squeezed it slowly.
"Rachel, would you really be okay if I were to stay in jail for a few years?" Maxen asked worriedly.
He wanted to stare and protect his wife directly. Staring at him from the prison bars would definitely be stifling.
"I'm strong enough, Maxen. Don't underestimate me. How long have you been in jail?"
"Just for a second. My voice is a great lawyer."
"Don't take too little. Alice won't take it." Rachel pursed her mouth. Alice is now like an eternal enemy to Maxen. If the two of them faced each other, there would only be an endless war of mouths.
If Alice knew Maxen was going to jail just a formality for a short time, she would have been grumpy. Alice's emotions were really like a lioness as far as Maxen was concerned.
"I don't care. I do have the ability to bend the law. He shouldn't have the right to be upset."
Maxen showed his stubbornness. Rachel rounded her eyeballs and could only let out a small sigh. These two people will long ago become true icons of hostility.
"Maxen, I have a proposal. What if Alice and I have a child who's not too far between her age and different genders, we'll have a match later?"
Uhuk uhuk uhuk
Maxen coughed violently at the suggestion of his wife who was deviating far from common sense. Match child? Just be right.
Currently, Alice being her close friend Rachel alone was enough to make Maxen dizzy. He was forced to confront and deal with the unstable woman.
What will happen if they become involved? Oh No. Maxen still doesn't want his life to end quickly. He doesn't need any additional problems that shouldn't exist.
"Don't say that again. I'd rather have our son single for life than marry Alice's son." Maxen strongly denied. He stood up, shaking his head many times.
Alright. It's okay if Rachel is friends with Alice. That too has already been done. If they were separated, Rachel herself would be destroyed. Maxen is still the head of the family. He didn't want his wife to be poisoned with absurd thoughts about child matchmaking or anything like that. Maxen still needs to live a long life without worrying about these problems.
"Maxen, don't rush to reject it. Behind Alice's bar-bar attitude, she was a kind and gentle woman. He is good at educating children. I don't even like to spoil the kids. With such a mother, it would definitely produce great children. It is difficult to find a child with good character. Getting Alice's child as a daughter-in-law must be a lot of fun."
Maxen walked out without heeding all the words of his own wife. Out of nowhere Rachel's thoughts begin, but what's clear if it continues will drive Maxen crazy.
They just lost a baby. Not yet Rachel has been thinking about the future daughter-in-law. Are women really this extraordinary dress the way she thinks? If so, Maxen really needs to give applause for himself for being a strong man who can keep up with his wife.
"Maxen, wait! It's a really brilliant idea. Our son's wedding will be a great wedding later." Rachel was still trying to persuade with a shout loud enough for her voice to be heard by Maxen.
There's no answer whatsoever. Maxen left just like that, letting all of Rachel's newly formed fantasies vanish in an instant.
