"Hi Daniel, when did you come?" alice asked in surprise to see the sudden arrival of Daniel in the dining room.
Daniel was like family to Alice. He could get in and out of Alice's house easily. William has also understood the existence of Daniel and every inhabitant of Alice's house is no longer surprised by Daniel's sudden arrival.
But still Alice is often surprised because lately Daniel often comes suddenly at inappropriate times. Especially at night when many people are asleep. Violin and James did not show any reaction, although Alice was sure that her two in-laws would also be surprised.
"just now. I've had a lot of work lately, Alice. So that my free time is only left at night. In your current condition that is still vulnerable to being targeted by Balck Hell, I feel uneasy if I don't see your situation directly." Daniel smiled a little. Both of his eyes showed care and sincerity. Alice was one of the people who meant something to Daniel. He can't just let the problem go.
"Sit, Daniel. You're delaying dinner!" Violin said firmly. He showed his authority.
"You're still too conservative, Violin!" Daniel squeaks small. He immediately sat down on one of the available chairs and let Caterine, the new cook prepare the main dish at the dining table.
Daniel stared at the entire dining room, sweeping his gaze twice in a row. The corner of his eye was looking for the whereabouts of someone. His forehead wrinkled faintly, as if wanting to throw a question at Violin, but reluctantly he did.
"You looking for someone?" alice asked with a smile. He knew who Daniel was really looking for. A figure he will not admit to.
"No. Not looking for anyone!" deny Daniel shook his head.
Alice nodded softly, choosing not to corner Daniel with further questions. Alice was sure that the man actually held special care for Jasmine. Whether he realized it or not, but clearly the relationship between the two of them was not that simple.
They spent the evening eating surrounded by some small talk. James recounts Klayver's childhood by peppering with a few small jokes.
"Klayver is an active child. Very active. I remember it was a new year celebration. Klayver was about seven years old. We all arrange the living room with a lot of decorations and trinkets. To wait for the turn of the year, we were all busy in the kitchen throwing a babeque party. As the years changed, we all brought food to the living room to enjoy the moment together. Guess what happened! The living room was like a broken ship. All the decorations are destroyed by Klayver and his beloved dog, Moggie. The boy says that he and Moggie got a mission from outer space to destroy the family room."
James laughed as he recalled the incident. Clay is a hyperactive child. He can do many things that no other child does. Many times James and Violin tried to control it, but the results were nil.
"Oh my God, is the living room really destroyed?"
"All my best glass vase collection broke, there's nothing left." Violin snorted small, re-remembered all the moments where her best items were destroyed by Klayver. Things like that happen over and over again. Violin still remembered every detail. He was at that time always grumpy to cope with every Klayver endless action.
"Oh, that must be so annoying." Alice chuckles, imagining Klayver's uncontrollable childhood. The man had already shown how different his attitude was from childhood. Stubborn seeds have been seen since Klayver was a child.
"Thank God, Alice. Axel was Klayver's indecent as a kid." Violin looked at the child who was sitting quietly by Alice's side.
Lately since Axel knew he would have a younger brother, the boy has become more reserved and more controlled. He wasn't as active as he used to be. William has made her understand the role of a sister.
"I'm not a bad boy anymore, Grandma!" Axel said in a childish voice. Everyone in the dining room gave me a small smile, looking at Axel's attitude, who wanted to look as mature as possible.
"You're not a bad boy, Axel." Alice rubbed the top of her son's head gently. Axel tried to shake Alice's hand. He felt he was an adult to be rubbed his head in this spoiled manner. Alice should not demonstrate affection in an exaggerated way.
"Mom, I'm a big boy. You can't rub my head off so easily." Axel stared unhappily.
"alright. Apparently you're growing faster than I thought." Alice smiled slightly, looking at her changed son.
They then continued the discussion on light topics. Violin prefers to be a loyal listener. He just smiled and responded to things briefly.
Violin's mind isn't here right now. He was busy wandering into his own plan. These four days Violin had planned an assassination mission to Luiz in every way possible. Violin weighs every possibility and chooses the best opportunity.
James is a man who is good at strategy. They are both compact people. After giving each other solutions and ideas, they agreed to take a decision together and discuss the decision with a dozen Violin bodyguards who were brought to this place.
A plan has been perfectly formed. Violin just had to wait for time to see her plan go smoothly. He anticipated everything. The plan should have gone well.
"You must be thinking about our mission about Luiz Martinez" whispered James softly amidst the dining room's jest.
Violin turned her head and looked at James with a bright smile. This guy really knows everything he thinks. James has been a part of the Violin life. In fact, she had taken root so firmly in the depths of her heart that just a little Violin thought of something, James could definitely guess it easily.
"You know how I am, James. I was wondering if I could cover something from you. It seems like whatever I think you always know." Violin shook weakly.
James is another name to always know. He's the life-sacrificing man who can read every piece of heart that Violin has. The most incredible man he knew.
"You've been my woman a long time, honey. How can you think I don't know the details about you?" James asked back. He rubbed his wife's arm gently and showed expressions of affection.
Daniel grumbled softly at the romance they showed. His eyes seemed to speak if their attitude was excessive. As Daniel opened his mouth to comment on them, he was nudged by Violin.
"Let them," said Violin softly looking at Daniel's distracted eyes.
"You have a very unique in-law, Alice. But it seems natural considering how strange your husband is." Replace the Klayver commented by Daniel. Alice who heard it could only chuckle softly.
Half an hour later they continued the light conversation. Until then dinner ended. Violin and James returned to their room in a romantic manner. Daniel and Violin were still sitting in the dining room.
"You're not going back to the room?" ask Daniel.
"Attent. I still want to be here." Alice then called Caterine who was busy cleaning the dining room. "Cat, bring dinner to Jasmine's room!" his orders.
"Okay, Madam!"
Daniel looked at Alice with a questionable look. He blinked a few times, feeling clueless.
"It's okay, Daniel. Jasmine was just a little sick. He's got a fever." Alice said worriedly.
Jasmine is pregnant and sick. That's what Alice really wanted to say to Daniel, but she didn't dare. He was afraid of betraying Jasmine's trust by uncovering this secret.
"Fever? Is she okay? You've called the doctor for him?" daniel asked, getting more anxious.
"Not yet."
"Call now! The caterine! Where's food? Let me take the food to Jasmine!"
Alice and Caterine looked at each other in wonder. Jasmine did have a fever, but it didn't seem that bad so she had to call a doctor. Moreover, Alice also still stores special heat-lowering drugs for pregnant women. By consuming it, Alice believes Jasmine's condition will soon return to its original state.
But Daniel doesn't care. His facial features showed anxiety and worry. He immediately took the food from Caterine's hand and led her upstairs to Jasmine's room.
…
Jasmine was already half asleep when she heard the sound of knocking on the door. Jasmine was too lazy to make a sound. The door to the room was not locked. Alice promised to bring him dinner. Maybe it's Alice, or Caterine.
Jasmine remained voiceless and wished for Caterine or Alice to take the initiative to go inside her room straight away. For some reason, he felt too tired. His bones were like being gnawed by something invisible. Jasmine's passion is gone, changing the lazy feeling that becomes. Is this a late pregnancy syndrome? Or is he too fouling his energy and mind lately? I don't know. Jasmine herself was unsure.
Jasmine opened her eyes slightly to look around. Jasmine gawked in disbelief at what she saw. Neither Alice nor Caterine brought him food. But Daniel.
Jasmine closed her eyes and reopened to be sure of herself. That figure still hasn't changed. Daniel stood towering, busy arranging some dishes on the table at the end of the room.
"Why did you deliver the food here?" jasmine asked trying to get up from sleep. His head felt dizzy and slightly twisted as he raised his body suddenly.
"It's okay. Just want to make sure a woman as stubborn as you can suddenly have a fever. I thought you were a wonder woman invincible by circumstance." Daniel sat beside Jasmine, staring fixedly at the woman.
Jasmine's face was slightly pale. Cold sweat began to look like tiny dots on both temples. Her eyes are red and look more watery than usual. Daniel could only gulp, hiding the sympathy that began to slowly seep from the bottom of his heart.
"Go! I'm not interested in responding to your banter!" throw Jasmine away with a weak tone of speech.
"You're still haughty, Jasmine!"
"Indeed. I have the opposite attitudes of most men's dreams. Is there a problem with that, Daniel?" alice replied sarcasm. He allowed the blankets to cover his body.
"Your mouth is still spicy!"
Jasmine chose silence and did not respond. He went back to sleep and closed his eyes weakly. His body feels better when laid down.
Although Jasmine closed her eyes, but she was feeling unreasonable. Being in one room with the prospective father of the child he was carrying made Jasmine feel another reaction.
The figure beside him was someone who would become an important part of the child he was carrying. Could Daniel currently feel a reaction as well? Could it be that the man had the slightest thought he had left the most important part of himself to Jasmine?
If Daniel had known, would he have been angry? He's a nice guy with a background and great success. Where would she accept the fact that her seeds would grow and fly in the womb of a paid woman like Jasmine.
Most likely if Daniel finds out, he'll have Jasmine abort the fetus. With all the coercion that exists.
Jasmine bit her lips hard. Her fetal shadow was forcefully taken, expelled, and allowed to stretch out life slowly making her chest feel tight. Jasmine's breathing was disjointed, feeling as if the pain was hers as well.
"You okay, Jasmine?" daniel asked worriedly at the face of the woman who was like an undead. Really pale.
"Come, Daniel. I beg you." Jasmine opened her eyes, voicing in a soft tone.
Daniel breathed heavily. This woman the longer she has invisible walls that get higher. He was impenetrable and did not allow himself to be exposed.
"alright. Alice is calling a doctor for you. It's good you ate some mouthfuls tonight before the doctor arrived!" Daniel got up and started walking towards the exit.
"Daniel ...," call Jasmine weak before the man disappears from sight.
"What's wrong?" ask Daniel.
"Have you killed anyone?" jasmine asked in a faint voice, but it was still quite audible by Daniel.
There's a gap between them. Silence dominated this room. Just the ticking of a wall clock that sounds into the background.
Daniel's eyes turned dark unhappy. Jasmine had asked a question that Daniel did not want to answer. He smiled and chose honestly.
"Earlier. What's up?"
"It's okay. Go!" jasmine's voice began to weaken. Inside the blanket, Jasmine clutched her chest even more firmly.
Daniel killed someone. If he knew Jasmine's pregnancy, it was not impossible that this child would be killed as well. Something Jasmine could not imagine. It's too painful and heartbreaking.
