This morning Alice had a new surprise. She had just finished breakfast in the room when Caterine thrust the phone handle for her. He said from Rachel. I don't know what made her friend contact Alice this early.
"Yes, Rachel? Looks like you got some good news this time." Alice asked curiously. He knows the character of his friend. Rachel was the one who couldn't resist the good news from Alice. His friend's mouth was very fast in spreading the news.
"Yes. Real good. But I'm afraid you won't be too happy to hear it. You have to prepare yourself for this news, okay?"
Jasmine's voice sounded alarmed. He sounded very happy, but was not sure Alice would feel the same way. So he had to carefully convey this.
"Stop making me curious, Rachel. What's the matter exactly?" ask Alice to be inflamed. Rachel usually doesn't really like to make puzzles in the morning, it seems like this is the exception.
"Maxen was granted leniency in his prison sentence. He's willing to provide a sensitive piece of information that the police force needs in exchange for freedom." Jasmine held her breath. He was afraid that what he said made Alice angry.
Maxen is only serving a sentence of about four or five months. After everything Alice did to put Maxen in custody, the man will now be released again easily just by providing information to the police. Whoever becomes Alice, it will be hard to accept this. The law that Alice was fighting for turned out to simply disappear. Maxen was still not destined to pay for his sins with the actual law.
Jasmine fears Alice regrets handing Maxen over to the law. With the guarantee of Maxen's freedom now, it is not impossible if Alice will be angry and do other actions.
Sounds heavy sighing. Alice closed her eyes for a moment, worried about what she might respond. In a word, he said his thoughts.
"I expected it, Rachel. You don't have to worry. I've anticipated this a long time before."
After Maxen's case was officially brought to trial, Klayver once revealed this to Alice.
Maxen is an influential person. He had a vast connection and his strength could not be underestimated. Submitting it to the law became just a little charade before it was finally free somehow. Both Maxen and his lawyer are very competent people. Lobbying the law is not a difficult thing for them.
"You've guessed it?" Jasmine sounded astonished. If Alice had guessed it, why would she still hand Maxen over to the court. A pretty pointless act actually.
"It has. I handed Maxen over to the court in the form of fornality. Actually, I'm starting to forgive him. The mistake between Maxen and Anson is the past, Rachel. Even though I haven't been fully able to accept and be nice, at least I'm starting to forgive her. So, if he has got a free guarantee, let it go. I'm not gonna do anything like you're worried about. You take it easy."
Alice smiled smirkingly. Forgiving was the hardest thing, let alone that person ever robbing someone so precious to Alice's life. But vengeance is not a wise path either. Revenge will not produce anything. Only a big hole will drag our own conscience in a pseudo-emptiness.
Alice learned to do that. He must come to terms with reality and accept what life has presented for him. Whatever it is, Alice believes God must have arranged everything for the good of her creatures. There is no way God's formula will harm his own creation. There is always wisdom, even behind the pain and loss that has already occurred.
"Oh, I .. I really didn't expect. You're a very amazing woman, Alice. I'm grateful for the attitude you took." Rachel choked. He wiped away the clear water that had begun to glow on his face with the back of his hand. Having a friend like Alice is the happiest thing God has given her.
"Alright, Rachel. You don't have to feel grateful to me. I'm just trying to make peace with the situation. Something my soul needs." Alice smiled slightly, understanding the hilarity Rachel was feeling right now.
After all, Maxen had become a figure loved by Rachel. It must be hard for Rachel if something bad happens to her husband. Alice could feel that. He prefers his friend to be happy with his choice of heart and forget about the old grudges he has. That would be a beautiful thing for all of them. It must not have been easy, but Alice was sure they could definitely find common ground.
"Oh anyway, I'm still grateful to you, Alice. I'll call you back later. Now I have to take care of Maxen first."
"When will Maxen come out?" ask Alice in curiosity.
"Next week, it seems. I don't know, I don't know for sure. I'll ask this to the lawyer who handled it. I'll tell you for sure." Rachel sends a long-distance kiss and disconnects her phone.
Alice stood there long enough. He digested back the fact Rachel had just told him. Maxen will soon be back, going back into Rachel's arms and starting their story again. When will his story return? One and a half months Klayver was away with no news while Alice had harbored an endless great longing.
…
A week did not feel like it had passed. What the police promised Maxen turned out to be fruitful came true. The man has now managed to breathe free air again after four more months behind bars.
The sun felt warmer when Maxen was no longer burdened as a criminal status. The autumn wind was cool on his skin, no longer having any complaints on the chills of the cold.
This is how freedom feels. Is beautiful. It is so sweet, more so than honey. Maxen smiled slightly, looking at Rachel who picked him up outside the prison door. That woman looks amazing. She wore an orange dress with a spaghetti strap and blazer draped over her left shoulder. Jasmine's gaze was full of haru. Clear tears dripped down her beautiful face.
Maxen walked quickly to his wife. She stretched out her arms, gesturing to receive a warm hug from her partner. Without waiting for long, Jasmine rushed into the arms of the man she so longed for. Tears are pouring uncontrollably.
Maxen's personal lawyer who takes care of his client's procedures from start to finish can only smile. He also felt relieved that his main client could finally be free from iron bars.
The most expensive thing in the world is freedom. No one can ever match beauty when you breathe the air of freedom without burden. It's as if all the thirst and hunger you have can just disappear by getting out of a cursed place called prison.
"I thought this was a dream." Jasmine inhaled a familiar Maxen scent. A mixture of spices and cinnamon in summer. The aroma always makes it float, making him remember about every beauty they formed before.
"No. I'm totally free. Didn't I tell you you don't have to worry? My lawyer and I are great people. I will definitely get out of this rotten place as fast as I can. How could I leave my wife for so long?" Maxen lifted Jasmine's body lightly and twisted it several times into the air. They exchanged laughter and enjoyed a togetherness that felt like a dream.
God has given Maxen a beauty in the form of Rachel. Wife, friends, as well as complement his life. They are like a unit that fills each other. Impossible apart.
"Alright, Mr. Imperious. You're always good at speculating. You're arrogant!" Rachel gently struck her husband's arm with a glowing face. Her tears had been wiped away, leaving small marks on each side.
"Let's go home, we need to celebrate this."
Rachel nodded, approving of her husband. They walked hand in hand to Axel's private car waiting for him in the parking lot.
"Rachel, you'll never know how free air can be such a thrilling opium. Something I've rarely been grateful for and only felt after I lost my freedom behind prison bars." Maxen is half dreamy.
Most people are just grateful for the favors that are palpable by the eyes. Grateful for having a lot of money, a beautiful wife, a luxurious home, and great effort. They forget that nothing will ever have any value if our freedom is compromised. What's the function of all that if we're not allowed to enjoy. There we're just gonna be dying all the time.
It is only natural that so far many cases have reported suicides behind prison cells. Because one's freedom has the highest value. Many of them would never have been strong had their freedom been snatched away and forced to remain in a position of detention.
Raise the sky and take refuge behind a rickety hut more noble than the predicate as a criminal nomad. Although some people find enlightenment in prison, but not a few who actually get mired deeper in the crime hole when they are in that place.
Prison can be a spiritual washer, or it can be a place of worse criminal learning. It depends on what the person will accept it.
"I know, Maxen. Believe this. I'm the one who suffers the most seeing you behind bars, and the one who's the most helpless because of it." Rachel looked at Maxen with a serious face. He's telling the truth.
There is pain experienced by a wife seeing her own husband suffer. There is sadness that a wife bears seeing her heart broken in prison. Pain and sadness are difficult things to describe. Only Rachel knew how it affected her. Become an invisible source of lara.
"I'm sorry. But I have returned now. I promise, I'll always be there for you, spending the time that's left."
