The Rhyme of the Depositary
SIXTEEN

Anson kept his word. The next day, he asked for all the income statements of the last three years of the company Alice managed. For two days he studied the financial development of the company. Finally one night after dinner, they had a serious conversation in Anson's study.

"I'll be your main investor, Alice. But I'm going to fix some of the systems you're implementing. To make your company more advanced and developed," he said lightly.

Alice nodded in agreement. Alice will follow Anson's will. He will always lose if he argues.

"For so long you've only been managing middle-class residences. What if you ever make a high-class dwelling? The investment is bigger, but the luck is also many times over. Rich people usually do not bother too much about the price of a dwelling if he already loves him. All you do is create something that would otherwise be loved and valued by them" Anson explained at length. He gave some samples in a map for Alice to study.

Alice smiled accepting Anson's suggestion. As long as it can make the company grow, why not? Anson is a great teacher in business. Alice will learn a lot from him.

Alice went through the days after her better. Anson began to open up and was willing to teach him many things. Whether it's a bed or a business. He poured a lot of funds for the development of Alice's business. That guy is the kind of guy who does everything with totality.

Their relationship also grew stronger. Every night they spend time together in bed. Slowly, Alice begins to realize Anson's reclusive personality. He was able to gain full trust from her.

Day turned into month. Not felt, Alice's pregnancy entered the twentieth week. Alice decides to visit the doctor performing monthly controls and ultrasound. She wanted to know the sex of her baby.

Anson, faithfully drove him to the doctor downtown. He seemed enthusiastic about living his role as a prospective father.

"Because you've had a daughter, I wish our baby was a boy. So it can complement Kimberly," Alice said as they walked to the doctor's office.

"Women or men, I take it very well. What matters is that you're both healthy." Anson said honestly, rubbing Alice's arm was calming.

"Oh okay. But I see you're actually expecting a girl. You've bought him lots of orange and pink dolls. You even bought three sets of baby gear with a girl theme." Alice laughing.

Since his childhood, Anson has collected various books on fetal development and bought many baby girl knickknacks. Alice was afraid that when the baby was born, the baby's room was not enough to accommodate the goods. The man was completely infatuated with his future son.

Kimberly was no different from her father. Every night before going to bed, she gently rubbed Alice's belly. The boy sang a foreign song that he said was a song from the sky for his sister-to-be.

"Congratulations. It's likely that your child is a baby boy" the doctor said, making them both smile.

"What's the fate of all the feminine baby gear you've bought?" whispered Alice softly, nudging Anson's arm that was still fascinated to see the results of their fetal USG.

"We're going to buy another one" Anson said lightly. Alice shook her head weakly at Anson's will. Absolutely wasteful.

They came out of the practice room. Anson walked in Alice's hands possessively along the hallway. At first glance, they looked like a harmonious couple.

In the parking lot as they were drowning in a conversation about a potential baby name, Anson's body suddenly stiffened. He stared hatefully at a beautiful black-haired woman who was crossing paths with them. The woman walked alone with a man in a black suit. Looks like they're lovers.

"Anson,"why the lady be careful.

"Avanic. I see you're still the lowly woman you used to be," he said, pepperingly glancing at the man beside the woman.

"You're still arrogant, Anson," he said in annoyance. She looked at Alice and her expanding belly in turn. Avana snorted in annoyance, getting tighter holding the man beside her spoiled.

Anson led Alice past them. He opened the car door and led the woman in.

"Who is he?" alice asked seeing the real hatred of Anson's black netra.

Anson was silent for a long time. He concentrated on driving into the main road.

"Biological mother Kimberly."

Alice looked surprised. A reality he did not expect at all.

"I've never had a good enough relationship with a woman, Alice. Most of my relationships with them were short-lived financial transactions. I paid them, and they sold the body for me. Just like that." Anson explained with a little pressure.

Alice lowered her head, deeply feeling insinuated. Anson viciously warns of the lies Alice has created. Even if it wasn't done intentionally.

"You're the exception, Alice. You are the special miracle that comes into my life." Anson clasped Alice's fingers gently, trying to calm the woman beside her.

Would Anson still think so if he knew the lies Alice had invented? Basically, Alice was nothing more than a row of lowly women that Anson paid for.

"Avana came to me a few months after our relationship ended. He asked for money to abort the fetus that accidentally grew in his body. I offered her a bigger sum of money as long as she was willing to give birth and give the child to me if it proved to be my flesh and blood. The result is Kimberly," Anson explained briefly.

"You no longer have any communication with him? I mean, doesn't he want to see Kimberly's progress?" Alice asked.

"No. His conscience was not moved enough to care about anything other than his luxurious life, even if he cared a little, I would not allow such a woman to approach my daughter. She doesn't deserve to be a mother" Anson said sharply.

"If you hate a woman like her, why are you dating her?" Alice increasingly felt her fear lurking blindly. It was as if he was talking about himself.

"Because I need my libidarian distribution, Alice. It's not easy to find a woman who's really capable of accepting and balancing me. So I paid them for it. Nor am I interested in building a false romantic relationship that can collapse at any time. I'm quite rational. I also don't like to be bound by false commitments" Anson said.

Alice felt slapped with Anson's words. All of Anson's sentences were meant specifically for him. His lies, his falsehood, and the feigned commitment he was trying to make between them. What happens if all this is broken? Is Alice able to raise her face to say hello to Anson?

"You look pale Alice. Are you all right? did any of my words offend you?" Anson asked worriedly seeing Alice's change in face.

"It's okay. I was just wondering if I was valuable enough to you, Anson?" Alice stared blankly at the black net of the man she loved.

"You are precious to me, Alice. You were the first woman who moved my heart to commit. Therefore, marry me, Alice. I can't wait any longer. I want us to be officially husband and wife when our child is born" Anson squeezed Alice's fingers expectantly. Either this is what Anson revealed to her.

"No, Anson. I really can't get married before your memory comes back" and the proposal he's somehow rejected for the same reason.

"You're a really hard woman to deal with, Alice. What if seventy years in the future my memory still doesn't return? are we going to live in a household without marriage?" Anson asked withstanding her anger. The longer, the more he did not understand the way this woman thought.

"Maybe" Alice shrugged both of her shoulders helplessly.

"Anson?" Alice asked softly.

"Yes?"

"Are you going to forgive me if I did you wrong?" Alice asked in a deep voice.

Anson sat uneasily, guessing at Alice's direction. Is there something Alice is hiding?

"Are you cheating on me, Alice? is that child not my son?" Anson asked suspiciously.

"No and no. I will not betray you in such a way" Alice laughed insipidly. He betrayed Anson in another equally cruel way. Creating lies.

"Then you don't have to worry. As long as you don't cheat on me, I can forgive you. I thought, my feelings for you weren't fooling around. You managed to make me fall in love, Alice"

A confession that could make Alice smile bitterly.
