Life is not always going well. Happiness is not forever without end. It's a steep road. Where destiny always has its own. Just like what happened to Alice.
This afternoon, Alice had just returned home from pregnancy control with Anson. She was relaxing in the front yard with her stomach bulging due to her nine-month-old body. At his side, Anson was busy wearing a tie in preparation for tonight's party.
Alice looked at her husband's presence with a look of admiration. A year and a half has passed since their marriage. However, their affection did not diminish in the least. That face was still the face he missed every single time. The voice was still something he wanted to attend to his listening senses.
Love is a very important thing in life. When someone has tasted it, we will be stuck with the beauty of his property throughout our lives. Love is a heavenly energy. It is in the realm of the supernatural. Only the heart deserves to have it.
"Are you sure you're not gonna be with me tonight, Alice?" Anson looked expectantly at his wife. This woman's face glows every day. She was like a goddess who had managed to find a soul complement.
"I'd very much like. But you know for yourself that our son is two days late from the estimated birth. I'm afraid if suddenly there the contraction appears. I'd better wait for you here." Alice smiled.
Anson's forehead was displeased. He kissed Alice's forehead and hugged her full of warmth. This woman, has become the focus of her life.
"Maybe it would be better if I just accompany you tonight." Anson sat beside Alice understandingly. Their son was born two days ago. When they went to the doctor this afternoon, they were advised to wait for a week. If in that time period she has not yet given birth, the doctor will perform other measures.
"Go, Anson. I'm fine." Alice shook her head lightly. Anson's done too much for him, he doesn't want to be a hindrance to Anson tonight. After all, the party to be held was an important party for Anson's business.
"You sure?" Anson was hesitant. He rubbed Alice's hands gently, full of affection.
"Very. Go then! If I feel a contraction or a papun, I promise I'll call you right away."
"Promise?"
"Promise." Alice raised two fingers to form an oath. Anson hugs Alice a glance before finally passing away to leave for the opening party of a famous company owned by his colleagues.
After Anson's death, Alice decides to check on her two children. Kimberly and Axel. The two children had fallen asleep in a cartoon bed. Helena, the baby sitter, had covered them with a blanket of characters.
Alice smiled proudly. He slowly peeked at each child's forehead and walked towards the reading room next to Anson's office. There, Alice can find a large collection of novels. Both new and old. Tonight while waiting for Anson's return, Alice decides to read several chapters of historical stories.
Alice doesn't really like to read. The book collection doesn't even exist at all. The only thing he was interested in was a financial book. From general journals to profit-loss. However, since his marriage to Anson he became curious about the large collection of Anson's readings. Alice originally picked up any modern harlequin novel. That's where he started to like reading. But only a novel. He had no interest in opening another book on the theory of the universe or philosophy which also became the dominant collection on Anson's shelves. Too complicated and philosophical. Alice shakes her head every time she sees Anson gobbling up the heavy books she has collected.
Three more hours Anson spent reading. He felt uncomfortable and glanced at the clock. 0015. It's past midnight and Anson still hasn't returned. Five minutes later, as Alice began to saturate and intended to go to sleep, the phone in her pajama pocket rang loudly. Alice immediately picked up the tiny object and smiled when she saw Anson's name on the phone screen.
"Hi, when are you coming home, sweetie?"
"Alice. I'm sorry I got a little stuck with an old business associate. He forced me to drink some wine before I finally managed to get away from him."
"You drink wine?"
"Just two small glasses. You don't have to worry. I can even hang on with five glasses of wine and still have full consciousness."
"Oh great. Go home soon."
"I was on my way to the parking lot to pick up a car. Wait, Sweet heart. Forty minutes to go I'll be home."
"alright. Be careful on the road."
Alice disconnects. He walked upstairs cautiously towards the room. This pregnancy makes him have to be extra in doing anything.
Alice let out a sigh of relief and laid her back on the head of the cot. Unknowingly, he closed his eyes for an instant. Lately his body is easily tired. He can sleep wherever and whenever he wants. It seems like this pregnancy made her a true sleeping princess.
Without feeling it, Alice fell asleep for an hour and a half. He woke up and immediately saw a wall clock. His forehead is uncomfortable. Looks like Anson hasn't come home yet. The man will wake him up soon if he gets home. A habit Alice always remembers when Anson came home late.
Alice got out of bed. He's a little shady. Is Anson restrained by his business partner? But shouldn't he have told Alice first?
Alice spent the whole night with concern. Anson's phone could not be reached either. Alice's feelings grew increasingly alarmed. Is something not right?
After the sunlight began to show a red tinge, Alice was startled by the arrival of two men in police uniforms. Jack and Abraham. They look depressed when they deliver the latest news.
"With Mrs. Mallory?" Jack, the stronger-bodied cop starts the conversation.
"Yes. Is there something bad?"
The two policemen exchanged glances, like wanting to throw the task at the others. Jack finally nodded and said something again.
Alice could no longer hear Jack's explanation. His eyes darkened suddenly. He fell into a deep darkness.
…
Rachel was standing next to Alice in bed. He stared sadly at his theme who was still lying helplessly unconscious. Half an hour after the police's bereavement notice, Angel arrived at Alice's house. He had intended to stop by to fill the weekly vacation he got. He also wanted to share a little bit about his life. But what he met was precisely the condition of Alice who had fainted horribly accompanied by two foreign police. The only explanation he can get is the accident that killed Anson in the early hours of this day. Rachel was in shock.
Of all the people, Rachel always felt her life was the most awful. She's a broken home victim who has no one but her sister. He thought his life would turn colorful after getting to know Harry and meeting him. But the dream was too big. Harry thinks Rachel is like a shadow lover. They never show themselves openly in public. Their engagement is also deliberately hidden Harry from his friends. Rachel begins to get tired and thinks Harry has other covert intentions.
Rachel is a closed person. He tried to convince himself many times before finally deciding to share this burden with Alice. When she was ready to open the story of her life, Alice was back in tragedy. Her husband, the man of her tribe, died. What greater disaster is there for a wife than the death of her own husband while she is nine months pregnant.
Compared to Alice, Rachel's tragedy was definitely not a match. His friend had gone through the salt acid of life. From small to big things. After he had experienced Kendrick, now he was left by Anson. The world was never fair to Alice. Something he loved was always gone from his life.
Slowly, Alice's eyelids began to open. Rachel clasped Alice's hand firmly, afraid that this woman would go into shock. The servants did not dare to show their faces. They felt no strength in seeing the sadness on their employers' faces. Everyone knows how Alice and Anson are the perfect couple. Love each other. Mutually adore. Mendamba. It was hard to imagine if one of them would go first to the next life.
"Alice." Rachel called her friend affectionately.
"Rachel!" alice shouted with a pias face. Both of his hands started shaking violently. The two police officers who were still loyal to be in this room quietly left. They handed over this task indirectly on Rachel's shoulder.
"Is what I hear the truth? Anson accident?" Alice looks shocked. His tone trembled.
"His body is on the way home. Daniel took care of everything."
"Yes Tuhaaanannn .. This is impossible. There must be a mistake in identifying the corpse."
Rachel took a heavy breath. He felt trapped by this situation. What else does she need to explain to Alice?
Daniel just called Rachel and confirmed that the body was Anson. However, making sure Alice believes this fact must not be easy. Especially considering the age of his body that stepped on nine months. Rachel was worried that the shock would affect the fetus she was carrying.
"Alice, I know it must be hard to accept all this. But you have to be strong, okay? Anson wouldn't want you to suffer anymore."
Words can be useless if faced with something tragic like this. Rachel chose silence and let Alice shed her tears. He did not want to give sympathy empty words.
Alice chose to hide in a soft cry for hours. He doesn't do other hysterical things. It seems like even though he is depressed, but still wants to keep his own emotions so that the fetus he is carrying is not disturbed.
Rachel remained faithful to Alice. Until then when Anson's body arrived, then Alice was shocked again. He fainted unconscious when he saw the state of Anson's body. Anson's head hit pretty bad. All his joints were like they were no longer in their original place. Some blood spots on certain parts of the body look visible scars clearly. Alice seemed to feel the suffering experienced by Anson before the moment of death. He fell back into complete darkness.
When he woke up, he was like an undead. His eyes seemed to be slowly diminishing. Rachel who was by his side was getting more worried. He was afraid that the events of several years would repeat themselves. Alice's consciousness was gone and acted like a puppet.
However, Rachel's fear fortunately did not happen. At Anson's funeral, Alice acts normally despite harboring deep pain. He was visibly staunch whenever he received sympathy from mourners.
After two days since Anson's funeral, Alice's days were spent indoors. He endured the suffering alone. Although in front of Axel and Kimberly he seemed calm, but in his heart kept many things that could not be conveyed.
This afternoon, Alice sat daydreaming in the backyard. He enjoyed the afternoon breeze in the void. Axel and Kimberly are still busy in the kitchen, trying to get busy with other activities by Susan. They all do not want children to remember the departure of daddy and feel sad. Therefore, the servants agreed to keep the children busy as long as Alice was still in mourning. At the very least, their attention would be slightly distracted.
Alice suddenly felt a contraction. He frowned uncomfortably and tried to stand up. Alice tries to call the waiter and asks the driver to take her to a nearby hospital. Half an hour later, Alice arrived at the hospital with a contraction of stepping on four openings. Rachel followed her theme to accompany the birth process.
The clock has shown at 19:33 as the cry of a baby boy screamed loudly. He clenched his fingers like he was hitting the air. Alice smiled slightly. The woman kissed the top of her son's head and let out tears.
Happiness and suffering mix into one. Generally, women are accompanied by their husbands during the birth process. However, Elie did not feel all that. He can only keep Anson's profile in his veins. His brain started playing the dagger. If Anson were still here and in their midst, he wouldn't be lonely. If Anson hadn't left them too soon, he wouldn't have felt the loss. Had the accident happened, he would not have suffered bitterness again.
Oh God. He had just tasted happiness for a year and a half. The world seemed to belong to them. All that is around is like heavenly colors that bring mischief. His dream came true. The one he loved he had. Sharing together in every second is like a beautiful nature song. However, it seems that fate has not sided with them. A fate called death chose to approach Anson. Leaving his wife and children in solitude.
The baby was named Joseph by Alice. She hopes the child grows up and has good looks inside out.
Kimberly visits Alice the next day. He came alone with Helena. Axel had a slight fever because he remembered and called Anson's name too often. The boy still doesn't really understand if daddy can't come back with them. Among them, Axel was the closest to Anson.
Alice sits down with Kimberly accompanied by Helena. Joseph had been placed in a special room for babies. Alice and Kimberly fill each other up. Although Kimberly already knew about Anson's accident and death, she was quite adamant about everything. His adult life is a little different from that of a child his age. He understands quickly a situation.
Alice tried to rest for a while. He let Kimberly sit beside him for thirty minutes before finally a huge commotion broke out around him. Alice opened her eyes and was shocked to learn Kimberly had fainted with a disjointed breath of distress. The nurses took Kimberly out for an examination. While her shock was still not gone, she was again surprised by the fact that Kimberly and her baby died of asphyxiation.
