The Rhyme of the Depositary

The Rhyme of the Depositary
035 - SEASON 2

Alice was woken up by Klayver a quarter of an hour before lunchtime. The woman blinked a few times and felt better after taking a short nap on the big bed.

Quickly, he washed his face and changed clothes wearing a casual dress made of muslin. It was pale yellow, making Alice look fresher.

His red hair he stalls and his face he feels light with cosmetics. A peach-colored lipstick dyed her beautiful lips.

Klayver wore a dark short-sleeved shirt and matching denim pants. They went down together. In the dining room, the atmosphere was a little crowded. There were five people sitting around with each other.

Alice froze, feeling paranoid. This house is like a den of thieves. Alice had no idea how abnormal they were. Violin's attitude alone had made him wary. Especially with her husband and children.

Klayver noticed Alice's fear and patted her arm soothingly. Alice took a deep breath, tightly gripping Klayver's arm towards the dining room which felt like an execution room.

The voices stopped in an instant as Klayver's presence began to notice. All eyes turned towards each other.

Alice looked at the sixties man sitting beside Violin. His facial lines are no different from Klayver's. Alice thinks he's her father.

Two men not far from Klayver looked at them with golden eyes. It didn't take long to conclude the two of them were her husband's brothers.

One more, the woman who looks a few years younger than Alice. This woman has fine lines that are clearer than everyone. His gaze was friendly and there was warmth from the look on his face.

In this room, warmth only radiated from Klayver's father and sister. Besides, they all look like violins.

Expert in hiding emotions.

"Welcome, Brother," greet the eldest brother. Although her words were light, Alice caught the little happiness she had unintentionally shown.

Kalyver nodded small. Among all of them, Klayver was the coldest person and kept his distance. He did not let his emotions be detected at all.

"I guess you must be Klayver's wife. Alice, right? I'm James, his father." James extended a friendly hand. Alice accepted it a little awkwardly.

"This is Klalyver's brother, Wilsen. Those two guys are his sisters, John and Angelica." James took a position as mediator. He introduced them all, reducing the distance the awkwardness began to occur. While Violin, she just sat in silence, choosing to be an observer.

"Hello, sister-in-law. Welcome to our family." Angelica approached Alice and kissed her cheeks gently. Alice was slightly surprised by the hospitality this woman offered.

Well, in general, this family seems normal. Not much different from other families.

"Let's sit down, let's start eating lunch. Mom's been cooking your favorite food, salmon."

Klayver took the remaining seats. On his mother's side. As for Alice, she sat between Klayver and Wilsen.

Alice stared at the wooden dining table covered in thick glass. On it, there are many types of dishes that are ready to be eaten. The average is a sea fish cooked with a mixture of peas and special sauces. Other, there is a grilled steak and a packet of desserts. Pudding, chocolate cake, and fruit salad.

"How's it going all this time, Klayver?" Angelica started the conversation again. They have been given orders by the Violin to call Tristan as Klayver. According to the will of the man.

"good. I hear you're in the property business right now."

Angelica nodded in confirming. At least, her brother wanted to try to find a little information about her. This warms Angelica's heart.

"Yes. I like business. Wilsen now chooses the world of IT as his world," explained Angelica glanced at her oldest sister.

"I love programming and tinkering with computer systems." Wilsen added. He looked at Kalyver closely. His gaze turned to Alice and tried to give a smile.

"Welcome to this family, Alice. I hope you can accept all the flaws in the Liecester family." Wilsen sounds authoritative. Everyone looked at him, astonished. He was the first man to open the card.

"Yes. I'm trying. Thank you, Wilsen," Alice replied stiffly. He looked at Klayver with a questionable look. What do Wilsen's words mean?

"I heard you already have a son." This time John asked.

Alice was uncomfortable hearing this question. The Liecester family was completely devoid of any aling-aling. Alice's life is like a book that is wide open. There is no secret at all that they do not know.

"Yes. His name is Axel, he's a kid. Five years." Alice was a little stuck. They didn't mean to use their son as a threat, did they?

"Why don't you come here, Alice?"

And contaminated by this family weirdness? No. gabe. Thanks though. Alice nodded in annoyance.

"She's afraid of dragging her child into danger if she meets you." Casually, Klayver replied in Alice's place.

Alice turned wide in disbelief. So Klayver knows his fear? All this time he pretended not to know at all. Even he vociferously proposed Axel to come along. Fucking Klayver. He likes to play with other people's emotions.

"Oh, she's a pretty smart woman. Our family is dilapidated inside out." John chimed. His eyes flashed a hint of antics. His cold attitude began to fade slowly.

"John," James scolds subtly.

"Good, Dad. I was just kidding. Alice, we will never be able to hurt an innocent child. Especially if he is a family member. We have a pretty strong code of conduct on that." John is serious. He tried to convince Alice who was now starting to feel uncomfortable.

"Thank you" Alice's great-grandson. He really didn't know how to respond to John.

They then talked to each other about light topics. Alice and Klayver were more like listeners. Violin, in not even commenting a single word. This woman is too mysterious. Alice felt uncomfortable for a long time.

After lunch was over, Wilsen looked at Klayver for a moment before finally saying, "I want to talk to you for a while."

Klayver turned to look at Alice and patted her arm slowly. "Go back to the room. I'll talk to Wilsen for a minute."

A sense of loss ambushed Alice. This woman looked at Klayver with a look of supplication. He wanted to say not to be left.

Seeing the objection in Alice's eyes, Klayver let out a slow peek and whispered something, "You're safe here. It's okay."

Klayver went with Wilsen to another room. Alice sat awkwardly in the dining room and looked at the others hesitantly.

"I'll be in the room soon. Thank you for this lunch." Alice retreated and dragged the chair she was sitting on.

Just as Alice was about to stand up, Violin's voice stopped her. "Stop."

Alice turned around and was surprised to see Violin had pointed a weapon at her. Alice nodded confusedly.

Did during lunch Violin have prepared that weapon so that it could use it easily? Quickly during lunch he was seen keeping his distance from everyone.

Alice's heartbeat began to beat haphazardly. Being held in a gun both times from the same person really made him depressed.

Alice tried to stare at Violin's expression, figuring out if her actions this time were serious enough or as a joke. But the water is flat. There was no reaction.

She's upset. Very-very angry. Does this family always play others as they please?

James who was sitting on the side of the Violin was a little worried. Angelica and John stared inexplicably at her mother's actions. They just sit in their seats. No one has the initiative to stop Violin. Everyone is busy speculating.

Alice let out a long sigh, guessing whether Klayver knew of her condition. Or was it intentional? Wilsen is in charge of distracting Klayver while his own mother tries ... what? Finish him? Just be right.

"What else do you want from me, Violin?" alice's voice was filled with anger. His fear was still there, but it was covered by his anger which was now blazing overwhelmingly.

"Leave Klayver. You don't deserve to stand with her." Violin threatens us seriously. He stood up, still pointing the muzzle of the gun towards Alice.

"Who are you so you want to set me up?" Alice answered sharply. He did not know what courage he had. Suddenly imagining someone trying to separate him with a kalyver makes him have the strength to fight.

"Klayver is my precious son. I don't want him to be contaminated with a weak woman like you. You would be his weakness if you remained his wife. Divorce her and I'll compensate you a lot. I'm a very rich man."

James began to calm down and looked at Alice solemnly. Goody. Looks like this time Alice has no defenders at all.

"I can't." Alice has her own agreement with Klayver. If he ended their marriage, his original purpose would be in vain. Anson's killer hasn't even been found.

In addition, there is a foreign feeling from him that is not willing if Klayver is taken for granted. Although their marriage was only temporary, at least Klayver was entitled to end their marriage. Not anyone else.

Honestly, Alice stuck some sort of pent-up possessiveness for Klayver. He's not willing. Very unwilling for the man to leave. Maybe this is weird. Something Alice had never expected before.

"Take him off and I'll give you whatever you need. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind finishing you right now."

"If you kill me, your relationship with Klayver will deteriorate again."

"I don't care. As long as you're dead, there's nothing to harm Klayver. You're something very valuable to Klayver. I don't want Klayver to be your love slave and shallow-minded. Your lives are very different. Staying together will only bring danger to the two of you. Klayver doesn't deserve to be dragged and fell with a weak woman like you."

Violin began to prepare to press the end of the trigger. There was seriousness in his eyes. He's not kidding this time. To Violin, Alice's presence was just a sheer rock she didn't expect. She would rather get rid of Alice as far away from her son's life as possible. Love will always make people blind. He wasn't ready for his son to get caught up in the fragile feelings of a weak woman.

"Darling," admonished James to be worried. Honestly, he didn't expect Violin to take such a drastic step.

"Don't do this, Mom!" Angelica almost screamed. He wanted to scatter towards his mother, but was afraid that his actions would cause the control of Violin to collapse and just shoot Alice.

Cold sweat soaked Alice's palms. He felt his head getting dizzy feeling the new booms that drained common sense.

Alice stood like an animal ready to fall at any moment. He crossed his arms, trying to be strong.

"Leave Klayver or you choose to die. Whatever you choose, I'm ready to help you." Violin looked at Alice hatefully.

"Not going to." Deep down Alice had shouted out loudly. He realized one thing. Losing Klayver was something he found difficult to accept. Maybe Alice's crazy. But that's the truth.

"Then, prepare to die."

"Mom, no!" prevent Angelica.

"Darling, I don't like the bloody view in the dining room" James gently persuaded.

"Stop this, Mom." John started to stand up, being pressured by the atmosphere.

"I say one more time, leave Klayver!" pinta Violin Fidelity.

"Not going to."

"You're gonna get killed because of him."

"I don't care."

"good. Count your last breath, Alice. Say your deepest plea."

"Mom!"

"Darling, no!"

"Mom, you're crazy."

"He's Tristan's wife, Mom."

The voices of debate are mutually disdainful. Alice stared at Violin without blinking.

"Three …." Violin began to count down.

"Two .. You still have a chance, Alice."

"I don't care. You can do anything but I'll never leave it!" Alice shouted in disobedience.

Clamps. The trigger was pulled by Violin.

There's no sound in this room. All eyes look at each other. The atmosphere became like a broken film roll that was slowed down hundreds of times.

Alice, who had closed her eyes, began to slowly open her eyes. The shooting didn't happen. The pain did not greet him at all.

Violin smiled slightly. He opened the gun in his hand with lightning and showed not a single bullet left.

Alice looked in disbelief. He looked at Violin with a blank look. What does all this mean?

"You shouldn't have gone this far to test it, Mom."

Clayver said from behind Alice. The man stood there for quite a long time, looking at them with an illegible look.

So Klayver saw this scene from earlier? And he chose to shut up and watch. Damn indeed. He's a real dog*n.

Klayver hugged the frail body of his wife who was still shaking violently. He raised Alice's chin, made her look up and kiss her blindly.

Sensing Klayver's touch and kiss, Alice's bubbling anger began to recede slowly. She clasped her hands at the nape of her husband and began to welcome Klayver's invitation.

"You passed my test." For the first time today, Violin's warm laughter sounded loud. Make everyone look at him.
