The Rhyme of the Depositary

The Rhyme of the Depositary
THIRTEEN

Anson stood in front of the window. Her thick hair was seen dripping water after finishing the bath. He was forced to splash his body with cold water this late only to eliminate the desire that never subsided because of Alice.

Anson could not guess what kind of woman now claimed to be his future fiancee. Judging from the appearance, Alice has the quality as a random woman who has been accompanying her. The woman who only accompanied him for money. But, was Alice among such women?

When Anson was with Alice, the woman always reacted with purity. It was as if she was the first woman to know a man. There was a hidden innocence from her, as if the slightest action of Anson was able to evoke all of Alice's responses.

Anson has never known a woman as innocent as Alice. The woman who had been accompanying Anson was an experienced woman. Their relationship was done with professionals. Like a shallow mutually beneficial deal.

Alice's different. She was a woman who would even instantly blush with just a slight lure. The woman whose eyes radiated shock every time Anson teased her. A unique woman.

Anson was happy. Her feelings burst into a sense of possessiveness every time she realized Alice was hers. Even the woman was pregnant with the fruit of their love.

There was doubt in Anson's heart. Is Alice feeling to him honest? Is their relationship real? or are there other interests that go into it?

Anson was used to evaluating things. His life rarely uses feelings. The logic is always to play profit and loss. That is why the company and all its assets are growing rapidly. Because his speculation is always right.

Anson thought long enough. Her instincts felt a lot of things from Alice. If their relationship is right, what makes a woman like Alice stay by her side? Physically he's disabled. And characteristically he is more flawed. His arrogant and arrogant nature can only make him a reliable boss, not a reliable partner. Some women find it difficult to keep up with their dominance.

Anson shook his head in despair. He didn't find the answer tonight. Perhaps, later he would manage to find the pieces that Alice had hidden. Regardless of Alice, the woman managed to pull it off in a way no one had ever done.

...

Today Alice has returned to her work. He set out early enough to catch up as long as he abandoned his work agenda by almost two weeks. Although Alice had controlled it over the phone, it was still not as effective as a direct plunge.

He was struck by three complaints from potential new buyers, received notice of cancellation of the land agreement deal, and several other issues. Pretty frustrating day.

"Alice, I managed to make an appointment with a potential new landowner. Not far from the land that we failed to take yesterday," said Abel, the secretary who also doubles as his assistant. Alice and her work are relaxed. Their communication is more like a friend, than a boss.

"alright. Agend me to meet her," Alice asked weakly. He walked towards his favorite coffee maker, but soon turned around. God fucking. His stomach acid is in trouble. He didn't want to do anything that could harm the fetus. Although Alice did not know if stomach acid could be related to the fetus, Alice chose to be more careful.

Time passes so fast. When lunch time had arrived, he immediately rushed to wear a blazer to meet the appointment with the landowner as Abel had arranged. In a hurry, Alice walked out of the room, barely colliding with Daniel.

"Daniel." Alice surprised.

"Alice. I heard you just got home from vacation. "

A vacation? this must be Rachel's doing.

"Oh yeah. Vacation" said Alice, drawing a slight smile.

"Why choose syria? you like holidays in conflict areas?" Daniel looked astonished.

The syria? Rachel's sense of humor is really bad.

"Yes. Humanitarian activities actually," Alice replied inflamed.

"Oh so. So where are we going to have this meeting?" daniel was still standing at the entrance of Rachel's room.

"meeting? I think I should let you down, Daniel. I was in a hurry to meet one of the potential landowners" alice said regretfully.

"You? seriously?"

"Yes. You can confirm it to Abel if you don't believe it."

Alice glanced at Abel who was giving a nod from a distance. It seems they are conspiring.

"Well, Mr landowner, where are you going to have this conversation?"

Daniel mentioned a classy restaurant that was quite far away. Alice just nodded her head in accordance with Daniel's will. All right, for a potential patch of land.

...

Alice spent her lunchtime longer with Daniel. Their conversation flows wider. Alice never expected Daniel to have an area of nearly six thousand square meters as one of the family legacy from his mother. The land, although located on the edge of the city, still has good road access and environmental conditions are quite crowded. Alice calls it a developing area.

With such an area, Alice had planned to create a cluster with an environmentally friendly feel. He just needs to find a creditor who is willing to fund it. With a careful proposal and planning, as well as proper market speculation, Alice is sure for sure the project is going well.

Alice had already found a price deal with the one Daniel had proposed. Daniel also does not mind the tempo payment system, so Alice can rotate funds well without experiencing a cash deficit.

"It seems like all the benefits are with me Daniel. I don't know how to thank you" said Alice sincerely.

"What about dinner?" Daniel looked at Alice intensely.

"Oh, I .. I can't Daniel. Excuse me. I'm more comfortable making friends with you," Alice refused gently. She could not give empty hope to someone as good as Daniel while Alice herself was pregnant with another male fetus.

"Alice. Alex has been dead for more than six months. Don't you want to try to open your heart again. I know your marriage with her is not going well. But not all marriages are that bad, Alice."

Alice was silent. He has indeed opened his heart. He just opened it to someone else.

"Daniel's. I really can't. Sorry." Alice smiled slightly. Soon his thirst will be seen. Maybe by then Daniel will finally know the reason.

"alright. What about dinner as a friend? I won't do anything you don't want. Just friend, no more "Promise of Daniel raised two fingers. Alice laughed in response to Daniel.

"alright. You're very persuasive, Daniel." Alice gave up on losing. It's just a friendship dinner. Alice will take Rachel later.

"Later at my house."

"OKAY. I'll take Rachel."

Daniel nodded, not minding. They were talking to each other again without realizing there was a pair of eyes that were observing them with sharp gazes.

Anson had long been sitting in a chair not far from them. Because of its position in the corner, its existence is quite hidden.

Anson observed the closeness they had long displayed. His anger began to roll slowly, the more difficult he was to suppress.
