Alice sits opposite Daniel in a Caffee on the main street in Manhattan. Caffee is pretty rame. Specially designed to follow the tastes of young people so that the main market is young women who follow the latest trends.
This caffee table is designed quite simply. A wooden table with quotes about love and life. The walls of the caffee are filled with quotes in line with hand paintings of symbols of love and affection.
Alice looked at Daniel, whose face was becoming increasingly thin. Daniel's skin turned more tanned. Maybe it's the effect of being in a tropical country long enough. Daniel's eyes darkened, like they were full of pressure.
"You don't look good, Daniel. How are you really?" Alice asked seriously. Being an escape must not be easy. Alalagi escape from Klayver.
"I'm fine, Alice. Just a little depressed. Every day I feared that Klayver could meet me at any moment and shoot my head without any consideration. What would be the fate of my fortune if I died suddenly? I am not married and have no children. No one inherits the results of my hard work." Daniel tried to joke. She didn't want Alice to be too serious about herself.
A servant interrupted their conversation. She serves two servings of lemon tea and some light cakes to Alice's order. Alice was not hungry this afternoon. It would be useless if he ordered a lot of food. Daniel is the same. They only use this caffee as a meeting place. Food is an added bonus.
"I've told you over and over again, you should get married soon and form a family. Rest assured, Daniel. Marriage will make you calm and peaceful." Alice went back. He was quite serious this time. Last time Daniel left, the man expressed the love he had for Alice. With Alice's words just now, Alice hoped that Daniel would be sensitive, that they had no hope together and that it would be better for the man to marry another woman.
Being stuck in love with the same person for years with no hope of being together, must be very scary. Alice only hopes Daniel will soon find his true soul mate. A woman who is able to accept it and make her life happy.
"Stop advising me about marriage, Alice. I'm fed up. By the way, is what you said by phone a few days ago true? Klayver's not hunting me anymore?" Daniel began to raise a serious topic. Alice gave a small nod, confirming what Daniel said.
"He's not going to hunt you. You're secure. But remember one thing. Do not reveal your identity to others. Whoever it is, even your close friends. If not, I'll never protect your life again!" Alice was serious. He began to sip lemon tea from the glass in front of him and enjoy the taste. Caffee is crowded. The drinks were amazingly perfect.
"Do you think I'm stupid, Alice? I know how Klayver. If I'm not forced, I'd be willing to seek information about him. This time I survived death. I will never plunge myself into death again. Dismantling Klayver's identity on the other side is a grave sin that I can't win over the consequences." Daniel spoke his mind at length.
Daniel made a mistake, but he was not a fool. Once he enters the abyss, he will not repeat the same mistake. He was not a donkey who could fall in the same hole repeatedly and end up with a tragic death.
"Goodoo. At least your brain's still functioning normally, man!" Alice chuckled amusedly, looking at the look on Daniel's face that she could not accept. Men are easily offended. True egomania.
"Do you think I don't have a brain? So, where can I set up a great software company like now?" Daniel. He ate some of the cake and swallowed it as fast as lightning. Daniel waved his hand and called out to a servant.
"Give me a burger and fries" he asked, who was immediately responded with a nod by one of the male servants.
"I don't think you're hungry." Alice was confused. He stared at the saucer in front of Daniel who had been toilet.
"It looks like this caffee is pretty decent too. I was suddenly hungry. You want to try another menu? By the way, you're the one who's making your promise!" Daniel smiled triumphantly. He sat on a high chair and began to enjoy the atmosphere. A local band is playing a song by Scorpion. His voice was gentle enough to enjoy and smartly took an early tone.
"All right, I'll deal. Women are now indeed on par with men," Alice teased her one eye.
"Daniel, how did you manage your business while you were away in Bali? You're probably going bankrupt now. I should be wary if you suddenly borrow money from me." Alice said haphazardly. His brain was no longer tense whenever he got close to this man. For a moment he can relax and let go of the burden.
"I can't go broke that easily. I'm handing it to my trust assistant. He was quite agile and scored many new advantages. You're reminding me, I should give him an extra bonus for keeping the company stable for as long as I'm gone." Daniel nodded small, so he remembered Jack, his personal assistant whom he had full trust in. Without him, Daniel's company wouldn't last long.
"Good." Alice nodded in agreement. Daniel's brain is programmed. He will not leave anything without careful preparation.
"How's your son, Alice?" ask Daniel suddenly.
Alice let out a weak sigh starting to be reminded of Violin. Every time he thought of Axel, he remembered Violin as well. The two men were like letters and stamps that were difficult to separate.
"She was on vacation in New York, with Klayver's parents. They all spoiled my son too much. I can't imagine what Axel would be like when he gets home." Alice smiled weakly. His mind started to drift back.
"That's how parents behave, Alice. Tomorrow if you're a grandma, you'll do the same. I'm grateful the Klayver family was able to accept Axel so easily."
It is not easy for a child of another man to be welcomed lovingly by the extended family of the second husband. Alice's case is a rare one. Instead of complaining, Alice should feel grateful.
"It's exactly what you said. It's just that, well, my in-laws are so unique. You can judge for yourself if one day you meet!"
Alice finished the rest of her drink and sat comfortably on the chair. He looked at Daniel who had just gotten a burger and fries from one of the maids. The man ate his dishes greedily. Alice could only shake her head, feeling astonished. Daniel left long enough, now he's more like a hungry refugee who hasn't had food for years.
"Whatever, Daniel. By the way, the way you eat isn't much different from a horrible war refugee." Alice laughed amusedly, looking at Daniel's funny face that was not aware of the situation.
Not far from them, a man saw the familiarity that they were cultivating. He sat in a corner of the VIP room, slightly obstructed by the imitation statue the caffee placed beside him.
Klayver took a deep sip of his cigarette, hiding the glare of his darkening eyes.
…
Alice returned home when it was late. He looked at the watch and shook weakly. It's eight o'clock tonight now. His conversation with Daniel became out of control and spent a lot of time that Alice did not expect.
Alice walked into the room, feeling sultry and wanting to change clothes. Along the way to the room, he wondered if Klayver had returned home or was still busy dealing with his personal problems.
As Alice opened the door, she was surprised to see Kalyver sitting on a chair facing her with a sharp look. The room lights were turned off, leaving a faint glow from the small bulb not far from the nightstand.
"Klayvers?" Alice nodded confusedly.
Klayver aura is very dominant. His eyes were cold, highlighting the sharp look of a forest wolf. The atmosphere in the room was gripping. Alice closed the bedroom door behind her and approached her husband cautiously.
Could Klayver be in trouble? Look into his other eyes and look different. Alice was a little afraid of facing her husband like this.
"Where have you been?" Klayver's voice was distant and cold. Unknowingly Alice shivered. The feathers bristled uncomfortably. Seeing Klayver's reaction like this, Alice seemed to be a teenager who was being punished for the mistakes he made. Alice felt she had done nothing wrong. So what's up, then?
"I'm out for a second, kalyver. Take care of something." Alice answered softly. He wanted to hide the fact of Daniel's return for longer. Although Klayver had promised to forgive Daniel's actions, Alice could not guarantee what the man's anger would be like if she heard that the person who had revealed his identity had returned to Manhattan.
"Taking care of your meeting with Daniel?" tanyanya cynic. Klayver's eyebrows intertwined, forming a cold and sadistic expression.
Alice closed her eyes and cursed inside. It's true. He's got a problem. Out of nowhere Klayver knew, but what was clear now was that his encounter with Daniel was a source of misunderstanding for them at this time.
Alice walked over and touched Klayver's arm, which was growing stronger under the dim light. Klayver's body formed a huge shadow behind him.
Klayver brushed aside Alice's touch and clucked softly.
"You're starting to keep lies from me, Alice."
Oh God. Why is the problem so complicated? He met Daniel as a friend. Just friends. Because it just so happened that Daniel had a different gender than her, so it led to Klayver's misunderstanding.
"Klayver, I just met as a friend. Nothing more. We need to talk for a while after a long time without seeing each other. He also needs to be convinced that you're no longer hunting him. Please, don't be narrow-minded just because of the trivial!" Alice rubbed her face weakly. He looked at Klayver who was still in disbelief with his words and grimaced sadly.
"Friends who were once past loves to me are no ordinary friends. I'm not a fool, Alice. The sense of being able to come back to life if we often meet the figure," he said flatly.
"You're thinking petty, Klayver!" alice refused.
"No. You're acting out of bounds. Unfortunately, I'm not the one who can be your place of return to play." Clayman sounded serious. He stood up, approached Alice with wide strides and held his wife's own lower jaw.
"You think I'm playing you, Klayver?" Alice could not accept. Oh God. He just met and had tea with Daniel. That fellow. How could the complicated Klayver's overly broad mind make him take a lot of speculation.
"Look at me, Alice!" Klayver's voice was terrifying. Makes Alice want to shrivel up a little under the floor.
"You're mine. Entirely mine. No one else has the right to love you but me. If anyone dares to keep a heart for you, I'd rather see it gone. Maybe I'm a psychopath. But that's how I love you. Take everything from me and give it all yours to me, or throw it all away. With me, everything has to be totality."
