The Rhyme of the Depositary

The Rhyme of the Depositary
059 - SEASON 2

Klayver looked at his wife's sleeping face. They covered the same blanket and spent an incredible night in nature's most beautiful dance.

Meeting Alice was the biggest stroke of luck. Luckily, Alice needed her services. Otherwise, it was impossible that they would be able to be discovered uniquely.

Klayver stood up and picked up the pajamas located on the side of the bed to cover his plain body. He walked to the corner of the room, turned on his laptop and continued the work he had.

Klayver looked at Alice who was completely unperturbed by the keypad typing sound. The woman was still breathing regularly, showing her slumber.

Lately Klayver has started to seriously address many of the issues with regards to the people who hunt him down. He didn't know clearly which point they had stepped up to. Clearly, Klayver should be quite vigilant. He also put Alice in his protection. Klayver must not misstep or later Alice will be dragged down with him.

A woman as perfect as Alice, should have felt enough of a fall. No more tragedies can happen.

Anson began to contact some people and give the orders he wanted. From this second on, he needed to provide a strong protection for Alice.

Two more hours Klayver's wriggling on top of the laptop. His gaze sharpened a few times each thought of things he did not like and went back flat afterwards.

After feeling quite satisfied, he returned to the bed and hugged his wife. He had two hours to fall asleep. It'll be morning soon. Mentari will come haughtily from the eastern horizon, greeting parts of the world that were once dark by night.

Time passes quickly. Three days later Alice hears Rachel has been brought home. He prepared some things to come to his friend's house alone with his hands.

This afternoon the wind was blowing quite hard. Autumn is coming soon. The streets of Manhattan are busy as if they never die. Klayver this morning said she wanted to take care of something somewhere. It seems like the man is hiding his problems from her.

Alice just wishes their lives were okay. Whatever business Klayver is doing hopefully it's done soon. Thinking about this made Alice uncomfortable.

After half an hour on the way, Alice finally arrived at the Klayver residence. The woman was a little awkward as she passed through the main gate. A servant who introduces himself as Mr. Black guided him into the mansion.

Alice hesitated. From where such a man is called Mr. Black, while the skin itself does not contain melanin at all. Is the nickname just a fad?

In the front yard before entering the main room, Alice saw Rachel sitting on a concrete chair beside an artificial pond. Not far from her side, Maxen stood with Rachel and looked cool in conversation. The couple showed happiness and teased each other.

Alice froze and was gripped by a dilemma. Whether you want to continue this visit or not. Maxen is still a scourge that bothers him. Seeing the figure directly makes Alice uncomfortable. Can any of them keep their distance from each other and disappear into shadows?

Alice and Maxen are like oil and water. They cannot be united under any circumstances. Togetherness is like an impossibility that will never happen.

Rachel was the first to notice Alice's whereabouts. He waved his hand, gesturing for the woman to get close to him. Her friend's smile was warm. Her blond hair that was broken revealed the beauty charm that had been hidden in the restaurant waiter uniform.

Maxen and Alice's eyes briefly rubbed. The man faced his wife, said something and left her alone.

Alice walked leisurely towards Rachel. Good though. It would be better for one of them to avoid. The atmosphere would definitely be awkward if they were united. Alice is not an angel. Although he tried to forgive, but his heart could not be sincere. His hatred was still too strong every time he saw Maxen directly.

"How are you, Rachel?" ask Alice lightly. He handed her a bundle of fruit and some of Rachel's favorite cookies.

Rachel looked at her best friend warmly and laughed a little. "Sit, Alice. I'm getting healthier every day." Rachel pointed at an empty space on the park bench on her left side. Expect Alice to sit by his side.

The air in the park is cold. Alice sat down beside Rachel, enjoying the atmosphere. The silence began to break. Alice stared at the plant that had begun to fall off some of its leaves.

"How are you, Alice?" rachel asked with a friendly smile.

"Good."

"Klayvers?"

Her friend just miscarried. How could he discuss the child while Rachel herself was still shrouded in boundless grief. Although Rachel was full of smiles, she was still a mother whose heart was sliced by the loss of a baby. The baby is still young too.

"No need to bother, Alice. It's okay if you're talking about babies. I'm fine." Rachel calmed her friend. She doesn't want Alice to become more distant because of the mistakes they accidentally make with each other.

That mistake was already the past for Rachel. It is painful to lose a fetus. Rachel doesn't want to be hypocritical by admitting otherwise. But if weighed against the other big risks, Rachel should be grateful because all that is missing from her is a fetus. His womb is still saved. Her life and the life of her husband are still there to this day. What more could he ask from God after He saved so many things from Rachel's life?

Rachel has made peace with the situation. Even he was hard if Maxen was imprisoned for a long time. Since yesterday, he tried to be a better person. Every thing that he had to be grateful for because at least this was an opportunity that God still left for him.

Seeing the endless guilt in Alice's eyes, Rachel felt tormented. It must be a huge moral burden that Alice bears. Every time he looked at Alice, there was only pain in his golden eyes.

"Alice, don't you see my life is fine? Maxen and I are alive. My womb can also be preserved. God has given me an amazing gift. He gave Maxen and a second chance for us. More than anything else, I feel grateful. So stop blaming yourself, Alice. No one deserves to blame you. Sometimes things go against our will."

Rachel explained her heart. Alice is a pretty stubborn person. The guilt that Alice has must not be easily lost. Right now, only Rachel could strengthen Alice's confidence.

"The important thing is, you're my friend. I'm so happy we don't have to be hostile and hate each other. Can you see the positive in this incident? Look at the fine ones and don't focus on the small mistakes. The baby I was born with was not destined to be mine. Sooner or later I will have it again. The doctor's guaranteed me and Maxen can still have kids!" Rachel smiled softly, grabbed Alice's hand and slowly squeezed her.

Their friendship has been going on for so long. The friendship happened since they were still in school and teen drama. It would be a pity if such a strong friendship would be destroyed for some reason.

Alice could only silence for a long time. What Rachel said was the truth. He was always surrounded by guilt every time he looked at Rachel. Deep down, Alice felt that what happened to Rachel's life was because of her actions.

But life is a place of learning. Mistakes always have room to be forgiven. The wrongdoer always has a chance to be accepted back. Isn't that a principle we should take? Some call it the minus-understanding principle.

"Thank you, Rachel. You have a great soul not to blame me." Alice welcomed her friend's hand and smiled sincerely. The rest of the burden that was still on the side of his heart began to slowly break apart. Making Alice's chest like it was given fresh air.

"Where is Axel? Why didn't you bring it?" Rachel recalled Alice's son who would usually follow them whenever Alice visited Rachel's house.

Alice could only hiss a little. He recalled that the boy was far away from him, enjoying the days with the grandma he had just discovered.

"She's on vacation to Klayver's parents' house" explained Alice showing a sense of heaviness.

Rachel looked in wonder at him and opened her eyes inexplicably. It seems Alice is a little unhappy that her son is on vacation with the Klayvers.

Rachel stood up slowly and walked slowly. Since the curette, Rachel needs to stabilize her body to perform normal activities. Today the development is good enough. He can do a lot of things alone.

"You need my help?" Alice's worried. She realizes Rachel's body looks stiff in some places. His stomach was also still bulging, indicating that there was a bandage bandaging his gunshot wound.

"No. I need to work my muscles." Rachel moved both of her hands to stretch the joints. He grimaced a few times as his movements accidentally pulled his still-injured abdominal muscles.

"Don't force yourself, Rachel!" Alice reminded. Alice did not want Rachel's wounds to get worse just because the woman was too stubborn in the process of recuperating.

"No. I'm fine, Alice. By the way, why do you look unhappy talking about Axel taking a vacation with Klayver's parents? Is there something?" rachel asked not to understand. He walked slowly around the pool by his side. There was a fountain with a small dragon statue in the middle of the pond. His mouth opened and spouted water that descended back into the pond, forming small ripples.

"Violin spoils Axel too much. You didn't see yesterday he bought dozens of toys in just half a day to Axel. Imagine, Rachel. Dozens toys. What would the child be if under his care? I once thought that if the boy asked for a real car, maybe Violin would present him with a beautiful red ribbon." Alice shook her head. He did not know how the cold woman could have such incredible hospitality towards her son.

Rachel laughed at her friend's words. She never thought Alice's in-laws were being generous enough to Axel. Good then. That means Alice got the right family.

As Rachel was laughing, Maxen was present among them. The man looked at his wife and Alice alternately. He then said something to Alice. His face shows seriousness.

"We need to talk, Alice. Personally."
