The Rhyme of the Depositary

The Rhyme of the Depositary
076 - SEASON 2

Daniel sat staring at the laptop on the nightstand beside the bed. He observed a complicated graph of numbers showing sales this month. Daniel had been struggling with this table for almost two hours until the night was late and close to one in the morning. But, instead of the data that facilitates his understanding, it makes his head more dizzy.

Daniel's focus is no longer on the number-shaped table. His mind was filled with Jasmine's shadow and the kiss they were doing in Alice's backyard.

Daniel laughed, making fun of himself. Who would have thought he was affected by the kiss of a woman like Jasmine. Of all the women in the world, of all the good women he could get, Daniel was carried away by the kiss that Jasmine did.

Oh God. Where was his brain this afternoon? For thirty-one years of his life, after a long time he always used his extraordinary brain, only then did Daniel feel his intelligence was inactive. All of her responses are affected by Jasmine's touch and Jasmine's kissing effect on her.

Daniel still remembered how sweet Jasmine felt on his lips. How the woman moves is beautiful, demanding, and gives a deep impression.

Daniel pressed the shut down button on the laptop and stood up leaving the object. She was touching her hair with a rough move. God fucking. Was her body left untouched for too long so that a woman like Jasmine was able to pull out her response in such a way?

Surely so. Daniel lacks socialization. He did not do much to comfort himself after his return from Bali so it was possible that his brain started to have abnormalities.

Daniel tapped the tip of his foot to the floor rhythmically. He began to think of a plan. Looks like he needs to find some consolation tonight. It's still time for Daniel to leave now. He just needs to spend a little time having fun.

Deftly, Daniel walks into the garage, picks up his car and starts his way out through the dark night into his club.

It didn't take long to get there. The streets were quiet enough that Daniel wasn't caught by the shitty city traffic.

The sound of music filled the hearing. The club floor was full of young women dancing to the beat of music. In this place, night is a new life. Time is not an obstacle for pleasure seekers instantly.

Daniel slammed into the crowd, approaching a bartender. He placed his hand on the counter table and a moment later, Kellan Lion, the bartender approached towards him.

"Daniel, long time no see. Where have you been? Bourbon sweet tea as usual? Or martini?" tawar Kellan knows Daniel well.

"Martini. I've been busy with a few things lately." Daniel sat in an iron chair without a minimalist backrest. He glanced to the side, staring at a cute blonde girl who was quite pleasant.

"He's pretty sweet, bro. It's not a bad thing to approach her tonight." Kellan placed a beautiful crystal glass in front of Daniel which was decorated with thin lemon slices. That golden orange-colored liquid looked appetizing.

Daniel nodded justifiably, understanding the gesture Kellan meant. It seems that the woman does not seem to have a partner yet. No man was by her side possessively.

"Hi, just be alone?" Daniel began to greet the woman who had blond shoulder blades. His face was tiny, having small spots around his nose. Her pale skin makes the beauty of the woman impressed soft and pleasant.

"Together with a few friends, they were all busy dancing there." The woman pointed downstairs where many people were dancing to the beat.

Daniel nodded small, looking at the woman more intensively. He tried to figure out the age of the woman beside him. Maybe twenty-two years, maybe twenty-three. Thereabouts. Not too bad. Daniel doesn't really like to approach teenage girls.

"Looks like you didn't bring a partner, Ms. …?"

"Audrey Wright." The woman's voice was slightly hardened, beating out the music that echoed into the ears.

Audrey. Name that corresponds to his figure. Sweet face, fashionable appearance but not impressed vulgar. It was different with Jasmine. Daniel frowned dislike. Never mind. Tonight Jasmine doesn't deserve to be called.

"Daniel Stranger." His hand was stretched out automatically. Steadily, the woman by his side accepted the helping hand and smiled warmly.

Tonight Daniel wears a collared shirt paired with dark-colored cloth pants. Her hair seemed a little messy, but it added to its value as her masculinity grew more visible. Under the eyelids, there are small sacs as a sign of lack of sleep. Daniel's been a night creature lately.

"You come here a lot, Audrey? It seems I rarely see you." Daniel tried to approach naturally.

The dress Audrey wore was pretty simple. Silk with a simple model. It's just that, in the middle of it has a slightly bold cut by displaying his cleavage. The dark brown stiletto she wore wrapped around her slender legs.

"Sometimes. I'm not a regular customer. Looks like you've been to this club quite a lot." Audrey commented.

They talk to each other in a relaxed manner. After time passes, Daniel invites Audrey to move to a quieter upstairs to make their conversation feel comfortable. Believe me, chatting in a room full of music with a loud volume is very unpleasant.

Over half an hour they exchanged brief information. Audrey is a pretty open woman. He turned out to be a marketer at a convection company. The way he behaves and how he interacts does reflect his talent as a marketing that is supple and persuasive.

Daniel did not think his arrival to this club could be very smooth. Meeting a woman as smart as Audrey is a positive thing that he should be grateful for. Only one thing still worries him. That woman is like any other woman. It did not bring any impact to his passion and heart. Just a sweet taste on the surface.

Maybe Daniel's got to work hard tonight. If he could get through the cold phase of his own heart0, perhaps he would be able to rediscover the passion and warmth of his heart.

Everything needs a process. That's right what Rachel said. He just had to open his heart and let others into his personal realm. The only thing to destroy the main gate was to let people infiltrate inside. That's formula.

After an hour and a half of talking to each other, Daniel offered to drive Audrey home. It just so happened that the woman's apartment was one way to Daniel's residence. Their approach feels more natural.

"alright. I'm too stupid to turn down your offer."

Audrey blinked one eye, trying to tease Daniel a little. Who is the woman who rejects Daniel's handsome man who looks well-established and pleasant. One over. He is also not a playboy type man who likes to perch in just any random woman. It could be that, if their affair is passed on, it may continue toward a healthy relationship. Not just a shallow romance. Although in fact if only a short romance could be offered Daniel, Audrey would not refuse it. Tonight, he needs entertainment too. Something that can distract from the complexity of work problems.

"Because you're handsome and quite polite," Audrey replied half-screaming as they passed through a quite noisy place.

"Oh, I should praise myself if a beautiful woman like you is willing to call me handsome and polite." Daniel replied with a voice that was no less loud as well.

They both laughed at each other at the same time. After they made it out of the club, Daniel left Audrey briefly to pick up the car. That short time Audrey used to check her makeup. She put orange lipstick on her sweet lips to perfect the look.

Deftly, Audrey also added a layer of powder on some side of her slightly sweaty face. As Daniel arrived by her side, Audrey felt her appearance was already better than before. He smiled sweetly, welcoming Daniel who opened the door to act like a gentleman.

"So, you work in software and technology development?" Audrey started the conversation again. He showed signs of an overt attraction to Daniel. Seeing his car which is the latest product with a fantastic price, Audrey began to judge that Daniel is not a random person. Presumably, tonight he got a lucky star.

"Yes. What if tonight don't talk about work. The atmosphere is too beautiful for us to spend just on a job chat."

Audrey blushed in embarrassment. He stared at the side of the road and made a small smile. A true dreamer.

"What kind of woman do you like, Daniel?" Audrey re-created the chat. He looked at Daniel's serious face and marveled at the faint veils of his face.

Daniel was silent for a long time. He seemed to think for a moment. The question made Daniel a little brain-twisting

What kind of woman does she like? He himself did not care much about it either. Before this, all the focus he had was only on Alice. Is it possible that the taste of the woman he likes is a woman with a kind character as well as stubborn?

"Importantly, she's a good woman and can keep commitments." That was the only answer Daniel could give.

Perhaps, all the female characters could Daniel like as far as not being as bad as Jasmine. That woman is an exception. How could a cheap woman with a body asset that she was selling be happy with? Impossible.

"It looks like a pretty common criterion." Audrey chimed. He stared at the side of the still-deserted road and lowered a little car window. The night wind was one of the things he liked. Unlike the automatic AC, the night wind has its own function. For some reason, Audrey felt the wind was able to make her feel more calm and peaceful.

"Indeed. I don't have any special criteria." Daniel chuckled, taking a turn after the red light as Audrey directed.

Audrey's apartment is not far away. Daniel looked at the tall building on the side of the road that had been deserted and guarded by some security at the main gate.

Daniel enters the apartment parking area with a special card owned by Audrey. Judging from this building, it seems Audrey is quite well established in material terms. His job as a marketer managed to sustain his high lifestyle.

They walked down the main hallway. In the corner of the hallway, there was a pair of generally operated lifts. Audrey entered the three-by-three-meter box room followed by Daniel. He pressed the number eight button and let the elevator work for a while.

"Is it okay to go home first and leave your friends?" Daniel remembers Audrey going to the club in a group. It's only natural that her friends will be worried to see Audrey's sudden departure.

"I sent a message to one of them. You don't have to worry." Audrey's smile still looked bright. He led Daniel out of the elevator and walked quickly to apartment number 405.

"You can stop in for a minute, Daniel." Audrey stood up a little worried. He looked at Daniel meaningfully, as if sending a special request for the man to receive his airdrop.

But instead of answering, Daniel grabbed a few strands of Audrey's hair and played them on his fingers.

"Maybe next time. I'll call you tomorrow." Daniel's smile was charming.

The two had exchanged contacts before. It was easy for Daniel to call Audrey at any time.

Audrey was actually disappointed. But she kept her sweet smile. A man like Daniel can never be coerced. He could run away and no longer give Audrey a chance to get close.

Audrey has to be patient. Follow Daniel's every will and try to persuade him slowly. That man is too precious. Audrey once knew Daniel wasn't a man.

"alright. Be careful on the way home." That's all Audrey can say. He tiptoed small, equalizing Daniel's height and tried to kiss the man's cheek in front of him.

Daniel closed his eyes for a moment. Audrey's kiss felt as soft as a feather. A few seconds later he grabbed the woman's waist and looked down at her tanned eyes. Cat eye. Daniel called it that. It looks a bit like Alice. Only, these eyes were even darker.

"Daniel." Audrey looked at me with a glare. Her lips opened slightly, as if intentionally teasing.

Slowly, Daniel kisses her soulfully and enjoys Audrey's tenderness.

One sec. Two seconds. Three seconds.

Daniel went back to releasing himself and smiled slightly. "Rest. I'll call you next time."

Daniel turned around as fast as lightning and left. Audrey was stunned for a moment. He touched his lips in confusion. It seems like this kiss is nothing wrong. But why did Daniel act as if he were doing the wrong thing? Men are weird sometimes.
