The Rhyme of the Depositary
TWELVE

Anson looked at Alice in surprise. His face looked a little dangerous. Alice sat inching away from Anson.

Goody. Now Anson looks angry.

"You don't want to marry me?" anson asked coldly.

Alice looked for the right words to give an explanation. Anson's gaze managed to intimidate him.

"Didn't you want this baby, too? You intend to abort him?" accuse Anson.

Alice did not plan to create a baby. With their chaotic situation and their previous terrible relationship, Alice certainly did not expect a child to be present in their midst. But that does not mean Alice can get rid of it after this fetus chooses to grow and survive in her womb. No. gabe. He would never be able to imagine his janin taken forcibly and stopped breathing his life.

"I don't want us to get married in these circumstances. Our relationship has not been repaired. How can we decide to get married?" Alice asked skeptically.

"But you're pregnant with my child.Do you intend to let this child be born without a complete parent? " Anson argued.

"Trust me, Anson. I want the best for this kid. But the problem is your memory is still not recovered. I don't want to get married in this situation. You could've regretted marrying me after your memory returned." Alice explained in half despair.

"Aren't you my fiancee's candidate? if my memory returns, I will only be more sure to marry you. There will be no regrets."

There are. Anson's. You're gonna hate me half-dead for thinking I set you up for marriage to your own hired woman. After your memory returns, my life will be like hell if you marry me. Alice impinges bitter.

"Then. Wait for your memory to come back and marry me. If I marry you right now, I'll only be accused of taking advantage of your condition." Alice is stubborn. He has decided that no matter what happens, he will never marry Anson as long as his memory condition is still chaotic.

"What if my memory doesn't return?" challenge Anson.

"We'll see later. I'm sure it will come back" Alice looked at Anson, challenging him fiercely.

Anson chuckled at how stubborn this woman was. He felt he found a balanced opponent.

"Alright I'll propose to you later after my memory recovers. Before that happens, let's reconcile and start mending our relationship. Give me a chance to get to know you from the beginning" Anson's hand held Alice's. He squeezed it slowly, promising many things.

...

After Alice's condition improved, Anson decided to take Alice back to New York the next day. Anson managed to persuade Alice to stay with him, considering Alice's condition was still weak and needed supervision from him. Some clothes and personal needs were delivered by Rachel. Alice's best friend seemed to doubt Alice's rash decision to stay together. But Rachel knew enough to not argue with Alice directly. He simply blinked his eyes twice, giving a warning alarm.

Anson forces Alice to eat lunch before putting Alice in a room opposite her main room. Anson tells Alice to rest and leave her alone.

Alice slept for more than four hours. He took a hot bath for a while before finally deciding to go downstairs. Time to get back to activities. He doesn't want to be treated as a patient forever.

The day had been quite evening as he descended the circular staircase, searching for Anson's whereabouts.

"Md. Whites. Dinner's about ready" Willian said from below.

"Yes. I'm going to the dining room. William, where's Anson?" ask Alice.

"Mr just got back from business. He's taking a bath upstairs. Wait in the dining room. Soon, sir will come down."

Alice shook her head. True workaholic. How does the man still have the stamina to work when he has just recovered from illness?

Alice walked slowly towards the dining room. He was familiar with every room in the house. Not far from where she was, Alice heard Kimberly and Susan's voice from the kitchen. They seem to be busy making things.

"Hi ye. You busy?" alice asked to see a six-year-old girl with a ponytail stirring flour in a plastic container.

"Hi Alice's. I didn't get rid of this kid from before. She was very disturbing," lamented Susan but with a carefree sparkling face. It seems that he has no objection to Kimberly's existence at all.

"Hi Alice's. I'm helping Susan make a cake. You want to do that too?" haggling Kimberly with a plain face. He's handing out his container.

"Oh okay. I don't think there's any harm in helping a beautiful princess like you" Alice said pinching Kimberly's cheek.

"I don't think I'll ever see you again. I'm so happy to see you come to this house. Will you be here long this time?" ask Kimberly expectantly.

Alice looked at the concerned little girl beside her. It seems, he was quite lonely.

"Maybe yes, we'll see, then" Alice replied honestly.

"Hi naughty girl. Put this in your dough." Susan cut off their conversation. She had two eggs and some cake ingredients. Kimberly accepted it with a carefree laugh.

"Dad left me long enough yesterday. He said he had an accident somewhere far away. Susan always forbade me to catch up with Dad. Were you with Dad at the time? Said Dad's head and left hand were bandaged." Kimberly resumed speaking with Alice. His face was becoming more and more full of expression.

"Yes. I'm there. The doctor took off all your father's bandages, he's healed and he can do it again. What matters now that he's back? you can play together again." Entertain Alice to touch the side of Kimberly's face. The boy's face became stained white. They laugh at each other.

"Are you going to play with us? Dad never let me play with his friends all this time."

The friend Kimberly was referring to must have been a friend who meant something to Anson. Alice was also one of them. He had no idea how far Anson would allow Alice to enter their lives.

"Hi Kimi's. Miss Dad?" Alice looked surprised. Anson had been standing at the end of the kitchen stretching out her arms welcoming Kimi who was running towards her hysterically.

Alice watched them full of haru. He feels Anson has managed to be a great father to Kimberly.

"Go ye. I'll continue with this cake. Half an hour later dinner must be ready" Susan said cheerfully. He pushed Alice and Anson out of the kitchen.

"Can Alice read me a story?" pinta Kimberly is hopeful. Alice smiled weakly. He still remembers the last time Kimberly asked for the same thing, Anson turned it down strongly.

"alright. How about we hear Alice's story in the living room?" tawang Anson smiled.

Alice followed them with a growing feeling. His hopes began to scatter out one by one.

Alice spent a long time with them. Even after the dinner ended, Kimberly was still questioning him. The boy only managed to leave after sleeping long enough in his micky mouse bed. Alice smiled proudly, shrinking a soft frozen patterned cloth.

"He's asleep?" anson asked waiting for Alice in the living room. The temperature in this room is quite warm with a fireplace that has been lit.

"Yes" said Alice satisfied.

"Come here" Anson's pinta patted the sofa by his side.

Alice approached Anson with some hesitation.

"You're afraid of me?" Anson observed Alice's expression.

"No. Just a little awkward," Alice replied smiling.

"Sit by my side. I want to get to know you again" said Anson, repeating his request.

"How long does our relationship last?" Anson asked after Alice was near him.

How-how long? Alice displeased. Should he lie too?

"We've known each other for six months. But it's only been about two months that you've taken this relationship more seriously." Alright. Lying a little bit doesn't seem too dangerous.

"Where did we meet for the first time?" ask Anson.

"At a charity party," said Alice spontaneously.

"Did I chase you right then and there?" anson asked, laughing a little.

Alice's face turned red. He doesn't know what to answer.

"Say, we're interested in each other." Alice is looking for the right answer.

"Mutually interested? That's impossible Alice. A woman as perfect as you wouldn't be immediately attracted to a face like this." Anson pointed to one of his eyes that was wearing a scarf.

Alice laughed bitterly. Even if Anson is not used as a financial support, Alice will still be interested in Anson. The aura that Anson possessed was capable of entangling Alice decisively.

"You're humbling your own charm, Anson." Alice said softly.

"You humble yourself by throwing yourself at a disabled man like me." Anson looked in wonder at Alice. What did Alice see of him?

"You always doubt my feelings. You always thought I was insincere." Alice felt cornered.

Anson grabbed Alice's body carefully and rubbed it gently.

"I'm sorry. I told you this was hard to accept." Anson closed his head, feeling guilty.

"You don't believe our relationship is real?" Alice began to shake. Is this relationship just going to be something Anson continues to suspect?

"I just find it hard to accept our relationship is strong enough to last, Alice. What exactly do you see of me?" ask Anson weakly.

"I told you I wouldn't force you if you didn't think this relationship would work" Alice had run out of excuses. Let it start now it's up to Anson to take action. Didn't Alice take the initiative to end their relationship but Anson refused on the grounds of his pregnancy? why now Anson seems to continue to suspect every action of Alice?

"You're Alice's enigmatic woman." Anson gently rubbed Alice's still flat stomach. There is a possessive attitude from Anson that he addressed to the fetus in Alice's womb. Suddenly, Anson's face changed and was slightly disturbed.

"Rest Alice. I can't hold myself back much longer if we stay here" Anson said, standing up and leaving Alice.

Fucking Anson.
