Rachel stared at Avery's car departure from the upstairs window. Rachel's two hands were crossed in front of her chest, her gaze filled with doubt.
What's wrong with Avery? Why suddenly decide to marry lightning? By reason of falling in love at first sight. What the fuck is all this.
Rachel knows how Alice is. The love that her best friend had for Anson was an incredible love. It's hard to believe such love can shift this fast on another man.
It is not impossible if one day Alice reassembles the story and forms a family again. However, to get to that point must be many roads that Alice will go through. At least not by falling in love at first sight. It all just doesn't make sense.
Rachel pulled out her phone, called Daniel. There was a long continuous tone before finally the voice of the man opposite answered his voice call.
"Yes, Rachel. What's up?" Daniel sounded tired. His voice was like that of a person who had been sleep deprived for days. The man seemed to be over-exciting to grow his business.
"Are you okay, Daniel? Your voice sounds like a hospital patient." Rachel was a little worried.
They haven't seen each other in a long time. Daniel is too busy taking care of his business, to miss a lot of things. Even at Rachel's wedding she had to stay.
"good. It's just that I'm burdened with a pretty complicated job so forced to not sleep for the last two days."
Daniel was silent for a moment. He got information that the person he was looking for was not far from this town. That is the reason why he stayed up late to trace the accuracy of the news he got. He chases with time.
"Wow, a true businessman. You have to remember to sleep today, Dan. Otherwise, I'll be forced to take you to the hospital later," Rachel persuaded attentively.
Rachel felt Daniel was a difficult person to put boundaries. Sometimes the man can spend days busy at something without thinking about his own health.
"Are hospitals accepting people who are sleep deprived?" cananda Daniel lightly. He laughed at hearing his own joke.
"Maybe. Hospitals can change function in a short time. By the way, I called you to say something." Rachel begins to open up the topic for which she contacted Daniel.
Daniel gave a long sigh. He closed the file in his hand, leaned back tired in the chair, and began to gather concentration to hear what the theme was about to say.
"Alice will be married within thirteen days from now."
"Whataa?" Daniel was hysterical. He shook his head, unsure of what he was hearing.
"Alice is getting married. He told me he was in love and crazy about a guy named Klayver or something."
Rachel frowned. If Daniel alone is surprised by this fact, then there is something wrong with Alice's actions. He already guessed something was awkward with the attitude of his best friend.
"Do you believe there's love at first sight, Dan? Alice revealed the reason to me."
Silent. Rachel doesn't know what Daniel's thinking right now. He only hoped that the information he conveyed would be useful to both of them. At least, if something goes wrong with this, Rachel hopes to stop him before it's too late.
Meanwhile, across the street, Daniel is kneeling his temple. Once again, he felt that something was breaking in the recesses of his heart. Every time Alice's name was mentioned, there were strong hopes and emotions that gripped the heart. An emotion that even though he was about desperately would remain and would never vanish.
No matter how many women are present in his life, no matter how many women he uses to drive away his lonely nights, no matter how many women he takes to parties, no one has succeeded Alice.
Daniel was pretending all along. Show them great theatrics and drag out random women for Alice and Rachel to assume that her life is fine.
However, they never knew what exactly happened to Daniel's heartache. A strong sense of ownership he always felt whenever he heard or saw Alice. That feeling never dies. From a long time ago, since he first found the woman in college the emotions were present and settled, not driven away.
Daniel always lamented why it used to be too selfish and haughty. Had he been able to lower his self-esteem and defend Alice, they might have had a family and many children by now. The woman will be his whole.
"Daniel, are you still there?" Rachel asked worriedly.
"Where else will I be?" daniel tried to cover his pain.
"Do you see anything wrong with Alice's wedding plans? I actually don't really believe in the reasons given by him." Rachel bluntly. He touched his sweaty forehead and snorted a little.
"Leave it, Rachel. We support the wedding. After all, that kind of love does exist. That means Alice is ready to let go of Anson and start enjoying a new chapter."
Daniel said shrewdly. He stood up weakly and walked outside the room to neutralize the melancholic reaction of his heart.
For how many times, she lost Alice again. His alicenya. The woman he loved in silence.
When will fate take sides and deliver Alice as a gift for her arid life?
"Wohooo, don't tell me you believe in love theory at first sight." Alice laughed crisply. He could not understand the reaction Daniel gave.
"Rachel, back when I first saw Alice, there was an inexplicable emotional bond. There were shakes that I only felt when I met him. Perhaps the feeling is not sharp enough to be said to be love, but it will expand over time. I call it the seed of love at first sight."
Daniel paused for a moment, letting his words get strong in Rachel's heart. Such a reaction exists. Sometimes the world goes beyond logic. There are things that are moved only through an emotion.
"I'm sure, when you first met Harry, your heart was leaning toward him, right? There is a strong attraction even though it is not worth calling love. It's that pull that brings you to your own story and ends up in something you call love."
Rachel was silent for a long time. He threw it on the floor and leaned against the cold wall. The shadow of Harry began to flash in his brain.
Yep. Daniel's right. From the very beginning of the meeting, Rachel felt a strong interest in the man. The attraction that develops into an emotion that he calls love.
So, what Alice said did exist. Emotions can be formed by an accidental first encounter. Nature has its own way of binding two people to the destiny that God has established. There is a language that is intertwined between a pair of human beings that has been written to unite.
"You're right, Daniel. Maybe Alice has felt all that. I was just too worried about him because all this time he was always acting crazy. If he does find his love, I should support and trust him." Rachel lowered her face on both knees. He was a little regretful for doubting his theme.
Honestly, Daniel felt a very sharp pain. But she prefers to support Alice in order for her to find her own happiness. Is love not unconditional? We love someone, whether they have the same emotions as us or not.
"Yes, Daniel, you're right" Rachel said later.
The woman re-enforced and behaved normally again. He can't get stuck in the memories of Harry. The man was too brengs*k to remember. Harry doesn't deserve more attention than him.
"Oh, by the way, as my apology for not attending your wedding, I'll send a special gift to you and Harry." Daniel remembered about this. She was a little embarrassed to have neglected her theme marriage four days ago.
"No need to bother, Daniel. I haven't told you yet, I'm married to Maxen, not Harry."
"What?"
…
William stood in a large hall. In front of him, there were seventy people wearing black suits with their faces lowered deep. William's aura seemed to dominate. His aging age did not diminish the prestige he had. That adds to its value.
William had mobilized the Dark Sky organization to gather in this room. He mobilized the meeting secretly. They need to discuss important matters related to the future of the organization.
The meeting hall that William used was a spacious room of an old building that was rarely used. This building used to belong to Anson. But because the location is less strategic and closed from the main road access, the building so deserted enthusiasts and long-time budgeted. From then on, Anson handed the building to William for his use as he pleased.
Although it seems old and has a backward architectural design, but Wiliam is smart enough to keep this building and clean it periodically. So that it gives the impression of being comfortable like your own home.
William arranged the meeting room in such a way. The three big round tables are located dominating. Each side was filled with people sitting on solid chairs of iron. Their views were all directed at William. For them, William is like a leader who has a high position.
"Thank you for coming to this place. Earlier, I wanted to say that we are here to discuss a new movement within this organization." William began to open the topic. He glanced at all of them and looked content to see his men quietly paying attention to him.
"I want to ask you something. Are you loyal to me?"
"Yeah!" The voices of dozens of people responded to William's rhetorical question without hesitation. They all clenched their hands and hit the air, as a form of direct declaration.
William was satisfied. This organization never disappoints itself. It was he who had formed all these people from nothing. He is also the one who has forged them and guided them so as to have a vision in life.
"If I put my trust in someone new, will you do the same?"
A man in his thirties stood confident. He looked into William's eyes sharply and unshakably.
"We'll put our trust in whoever you want, sir!" he said it represented the voice of his friends. The other people who were here nodded along, confirming.
William walked around the room. Old memories are re-formed in his memory. Two years ago, it was Anson who stood here and commanded them all. William was only in charge of overseeing and controlling the conditions.
Now, that man is gone. Leaving a deep void was like a gaping hole. Not only died, even the death case became a puzzle that William could never solve.
Death is like a tragedy that befalls them all. Make this organization lose its way and slip in. William wanted to disband them. His desire is no longer there to keep all the inheritance.
However, given how much these people meant, his heart was moved to keep him and protect what he inherited from Anson. Inwardly, William vows to look after the members of the organization and uses them as a shield and strong protection for Alice, as well as Axel. Anson would have wanted William to protect his loved ones.
"You all know that after Anson's death, Alice was the one who became my qibla. I want you all to lay allegiance to him sincerely as well."
William berdehem. As long as he held this organization, he rarely gave orders viciously. But each of his words was powerful and capable of moving them all. Even if the commandment leads them to the brink of death.
Everyone in the room agreed. Half of them have different backgrounds. Both career and social class. The rest are still on average as bodyguards of an official institution and providers of confidential information.
Careerally, they are not bound by this organization, although William periodically sends funds for their welfare. Their therapy is tied to full fidelity, like old friends helping each other.
Over fifty percent of these members were found directly by William. Some were once ex-convicts who were later rescued by him, some were once street children and were helped by him, some were involved in many economic complexities that William helped completely.
They are all in debt. The loyalty they offer is full loyalty. That's why William became quite attached to them. Vice versa.
"We are a whole unit, sir. Wherever you serve, that is where we serve. About Mr.'s death. Mallory, we all hit a solid wall every time we do an investigation,"
A man in his thirties said firmly. He was one of William's confidants and had become his right hand. The young man was trusted enough to carry out important missions. His whole life was devoted to William. The old man's wish was a grave order to him.
William nodded in understanding the difficulties his organization was experiencing. Although Anson's death was quite a headache, it was difficult to find evidence of it all. The enemy behind them was quite strong apparently.
"It's okay. That's my purpose of gathering you at this moment. There will be someone new guiding you later. People willing to find out and make justice for Anson's death. But for that, you must swear allegiance to him as well. Because I've declared my allegiance to him."
Everyone is silent. They all know it's not easy to hand over control of this organization to outsiders. Both William and they have been bound by an oath of loyalty throughout life. Giving up this organization is like giving up their lives and their lives.
"Who is he, sir?" asked the man, representing another curiosity.
"Alices' future husband, Klayver Vaquez. After he is officially married, I want all of you to pledge allegiance to him. At least, as long as the man becomes Alice's official husband, you should consider him your superior."
William explained all this gloomily. She was forced to do all this after Alice decided to marry a man with a murderous background like Klayver. For God's sake, William wasn't sure if this was a good decision for all of them.
"Good, Sir." The right hand nodded.
"Alright, Harry. Organize this organization well. I can't keep a full eye on you from now on."
