The Rhyme of the Depositary

The Rhyme of the Depositary
022 - SEASON 2

This afternoon, Alice returned home. He and Klayver entered the front yard with a slightly warm attitude. Although the man did not give the drama of touch and hug, but his eyes turned soft enough to convince anyone that their relationship was the truth.

Susan and Helena greeted Alice with bright smiles. While William, the man chose to stay indoors and only welcomed them after Avery entered the living room. Avery could see the man's reluctance. But his attitude remained polite towards Klayver.

Of all the people in this house, William is the only one who knows Klayver's true identity. Therefore Alice could understand the reluctance felt by the butler. Anyone would definitely find it hard to accept the existence of a hitman under the same one roof. William's reaction was quite reasonable.

"Mrs, sir, welcome back to this house." William is down inside.

"William, thank you so much." Alice nodded small.

"Later we need to talk, William." Klayver looked at William sternly. He had already discussed this with Alice. Soon Klayver must form a strong bond with William.

"Good, Sir." William nodded deeply and retreated to immediately leave before them.

Alice could only stare at William's increasingly distant back. He looked at William and Klayver in turn. They need time to adapt to each other. Especially William.

"Alice, let's go to the dining room. I've prepared a special treat for you." Susan patted Alice on the back with affection.

Since Anson's death, Susan and Alice have grown closer to each other. Until both of them there is no limit to call each other by their names.

"Oh, Susan. You always know what I want." Alice followed Susan in the back. Klayver simply stared at the departure of the two of them with eyes that were squeaking full of vigilance.

Susan doesn't seem as simple as it looks. Klayver's instincts began to work quickly. He felt a clear killing intent.

With a slow step, Klayver followed to the dining room. He observed one by one the neatly arranged furniture with high quality. Looks like Anson has the same taste as hers.

Alice saw Klayver enter the dining room. The air seemed to turn cold in an instant. For some reason, there was an invisible pressure every time he was in the same room with Klayver.

"You gotta put a lot of weight on you, Alice. Especially after marriage, look! your body needs to be added on some side." Alice pointed to some parts of Alice's body as if Klayver's presence had no effect on her at all.

He walked with steady steps and circled Alice. "Your body is too thin." Susan said she was not happy. His round face shriveled on several sides.

"Oh, Susan. My body was like this." Alice shook her head in amusement. He dragged one of the chairs back and sat down to start eating one of the dishes Susan made.

Klayver took a seat next to Alice and spent a few mouthfuls of food without a word. The atmosphere was a little awkward for Alice. Plus, suddenly Axel came to them with a distinctive face of waking up.

"Mom, are you home?" axel rubbed his eyes.

The child walked timidly towards Alice. His eyes looked at Klayver with a slight alert glare. Could Axel be sensitive enough in assessing the situation? After all, Klayver was a figure who could make people intimidated. Susan is an exception.

"Well Daddy, honey!" Alice patted her son's shoulder with a small blink. He reminded Axel of their theatrical agreement the other day.

"Jiang, Dad." Axel greeted with a slight stammer. He looked at Klayver slowly and turned to his mother again as if depressed.

Clayver smiled slightly. A smile that does not reach the depth of the eye. He just let Axel behave awkwardly around him.

Alice is a little inflamed. Klayver and Axel's interaction looks like it's going to have a bit of a drag. The introvert attitude that the man had could not change even for an instant.

"Have you just gotten out of your nap, Axel?" Alice lifted her son to one of the chairs and prepared a dish for Axel to spend.

"Yes. I'm not in school today, Mom. Helena said it's okay to take a day off."

"All right, but tomorrow you have to go to school. You hear?"

Axel nodded obediently. He finished the food in front of him without any leftovers.

Susan was kind enough to welcome Klayver. Although she rarely spoke at length, it did not stop Susan from interacting well.

Secretly, Avery saluted the firmness Susan had. The woman never tired of offering hospitality even though it was not responded to at all. After Klayver's departure, he turned to Avery with a twitch on his forehead.

"Is your husband a robot? Or is his heart made of ice? He doesn't even talk normally like a common man." Susan squeaked in annoyance. His dark face grew darker.

"He's an introvert, Susan. You should get used to it from now on." Alice said resignedly. Those words are also for himself.

"How did you find someone like that?" ask Susan to investigate.

"Eitherway. Luck, maybe. You know for yourself, don't you? Sometimes love can be for anyone, no matter how his personality and character."

Goody. At the moment Alice sounds like a poet who is kasmaran. His gaze sparkled with a false light that dazzled the eyes.

"Whatever it is, I always pray the best for you, Alice. After all, Anson was a figure who ever meant anything to you. Losing him must be enough to slap you inside out. I'm happy if you're lucky enough to find your happiness back from another person." Susan patted Alice on the shoulder, understanding every condition this woman was in.

Alice is a strong woman. Susan had seen many of the developments she had witnessed herself about Alice's stubbornness. For a woman, she is amazing.

"Mom, I want to play with Helena." Axel interrupted by grabbing the end of Alice's arm. His eyes were hopeful.

"Alright, wash your face before you play with Helena." Alice led Axel out of the dining room and washed his son's face in a nearby sink. He smiled seeing his son was already this big.

After Alice's death, Susan immediately tidied the cutlery scattered on the table. He hummed softly as usual. His eyes revealed another flash.

Alice enters the room. He was surprised to find Klayver had been standing by the side of the bed. Reluctantly, Alice entered the room measuring six by six meters.

"Where do you know where my room is?"alice asked in surprise.

"William showed it. I told you we'd be rooming."

Alice nodded helplessly. He sat in a small chair facing out the window.

Klayver undressed slowly and draped the shirt he was wearing over the headboard. He stood bare-chested. His dark denim pants increasingly looked beautifully wrapped in both legs.

"You can't be patient? If we move too fast, our steps will be easily anticipated by many parties. I told you this house has people infiltrating from outside. It would be best to calm down for two or three months without doing anything. Let me take care of my business first. The parties chasing me are getting out of control."

Klayver stared at Alice's reaction which was hard to accept from her. The woman was too rash and acted as she pleased. He did not yet understand the power of patience.

In a dark world, Klayver has been through a lot. Trapped from tragedy to tragedy. Thrown from danger one to danger.

One of the forces he continues to develop to outwit the enemy is to be still and not move at all. Silence here is not merely literal. But it is more about the ability to refrain from doing something that can make people suspicious of our existence.

Alice did not seem to understand this principle. For him, what he wanted would be done directly without considering the consequences.

It was only fitting that the woman came to him and agreed to their marriage as a condition for their mutual interests. The woman was too rash, brave, and impulsive.

"alright. We'll stay in this house for two to three months. After that, what are you planning?" Alice asked impatiently.

"I'll visit Mr. Souvery Kinston's. Maybe there'll be a little clue."

Alice nodded, trying to accept the rules of this situation.

"Didn't you suspect Anson was poisoned? Can't we just take the body and do another autopsy?"

Anson's body was autopsied the day after his death. But at the time there were no suspicious results. Maybe those people were somehow bribed by Anson's killer so they shut up.

Alice began to dream. If she could take Anson's body elsewhere, she might be able to find another substance that caused her husband's death through an autopsy.

"What if we do a re-autopsy?" Alice began to think about this possibility.

However, Klayver looked at Alice with a dislike face. The woman is unique. His way of thinking is rushed, just wanting to get a goal but not thinking much about the effects that come with it.

Klayver has always thought for himself and acted alone. He gathered information, made a basic analysis, and began to manually record lists into his brain about what steps he would take, what benefits, and what effects.

Hearing Alice's proposal being casually thrown out made Klayver snort a little. Basic lady.

"Is there something wrong with my suggestion?" alice asked not to understand. According to Alice, she had already provided a reasonable solution. Funny if Klayver refuses.

"Alice. Try to position you as Anson's killer. If you see your victim's wife scavenging back information and raising the topic of a re-autopsy, what steps would you take?" Klayver asked patiently, leading Alice to think critically.

Alice closed her eyes and felt annoyed with herself. Klayver's right. If he takes Anson's body and performs a re-autopsy, it is likely that Anson's killers will investigate his actions and if they are suspicious of the move Alice takes, they will likely silence Alice as well. Forever.

"alright. I'm mistaken. If I do that, they can directly target me as the next victim." Alice gave up on losing. In any case, Klayver's thinking was always one step ahead of him. The man always found a gap from every flawed thought of Alice.

"It's good if you're smart enough to understand. In addition, the effects of Novihock poison are difficult to detect. I'm not sure the medicals can find any irregularities."

Although Klayver rarely heard about this poison, but the source he got said that the poison is very unique. It is hard to detect and the effect is deadly.

"alright. So what's your advice?" Alice began to feel dizzy thinking about this matter. It is not easy to uncover the case behind the death of her late husband.

"I told you. Don't do anything for two or three months. Your movements are being watched by them. Just a little awkwardness, they'll be on their guard and it's getting harder for us to dig into the case."

Klayver tried to remind me. Honestly, she was worried that Alice would take many actions that could provoke their suspicions. The woman is too unstable.

"Alright, Klyaver. I'll do what you suggest."

Alice stared at Klayver's wide back. In the center there is a special tattoo that he had seen before. In his heart, he began to wonder what the meaning of the tattoo was. Could there be a philosophy hidden behind it?

"It should be, my wife …."

Alice blinked her eyes. She gasped when Klayver took her as his wife. Sounds pretty foreign.

"As long as it's vulnerable this time, I'll start using William's organization to attack my enemies."

Actually Klayver doesn't have to explain this to Alice. But somehow he was moved to share the plan he had with the woman. Something he'd never done before to anyone.

Klayver had long been acting in the dark alone. There was no mouth that he asked to make a proposal. There are no ears available to listen to it.

However, a small change is beginning to take shape. This communication is very slow but sure.

"Please take care of William's organization. His people are very loyal and very keen on keeping the oath. I don't want them to sacrifice their lives in vain."

Alice asked for a full plea. Clayver is a murderer. In his eyes, life was not important. Alice fears she will bring disaster on William and the people behind her. However, they are not pawns in a chess that can be sacrificed.

"You worried about them?" Klayver walked over. His figure seemed to dominate. Unknowingly, Alice walked backwards. Both of his eyes showed fear.

"Of course, I'm not a cold-hearted and heartless person like you. For me, life is the greatest blessing that God has created for us. It is a great sin if we take God's grace without any obvious reason."

Klayver looked at his wife and increasingly removed the distance between them. He stared at Alice's dark red mane strands and grabbed them in part.

Soft silk. As expected of Klayver. The strands are beautifully coiled in the man's fingers. While Alice, she held her breath long enough, could not predict how Klayver's emotions actually were. For Alice, living with a hit man is mentally draining. Must keep his instinct twenty-four hours non stop.

"Klayvers?" Alice wanted to retreat, but was restrained by the wall. He was caught in helplessness with this man.

Alice's heart started beating. His breathing is irregular. Inside here, his chest was like a battle drum ready to fight.

"You're the first woman I've ever let live after seeing and knowing me, Alice."
