The Rhyme of the Depositary

The Rhyme of the Depositary
136 - SEASON 2

Things are going well for the next two weeks. Alice's pregnancy had already entered six months, while Jasmine was three and a half months. They all go about their days quietly, though Violin tightens the guard around them.

All the Violin guards he had brought from Washington had been taken over by James. After they all have allegations of an insider traitor leaking information to Luiz, both Violin and James agree to interrogate their men.

Violin's interrogation was not purely an ordinary introgression. He used devious, cruel, and inhumane ways. Behind her protective attitude towards the people the Violin loved, the woman had the other side as well. An atrocity that only James knew and understood.

Three of Violin's bodyguards were killed during interrogation. Others were battered, some were critical and taken to hospital. Something that actually did not want to be done by Violin but was strongly opposed by Alice so inevitably his men got incentive treatment.

Despite having done all these things, none of the Violin's men opened their mouths and confessed about their betrayal. Eventually, the Violins took the decision to dismiss them all and took the other Violin men from Washington two days later.

This time, Violin made strict sure of the people she took. Violin does not want similar events to repeat. Being infiltrated by a traitor is a bad thing in his life. Alice and Axel's lives could be threatened because of this.

"Violin, Luiz has been out of prison for two weeks. But now he doesn't even do anything to us. Could it be that you think Luiz is starting to give us some leeway and is giving up slowly?" ask Alice at dinner. There was Jasmine and Daniel also accompanying Alice to eat this time. The two people sat in opposite directions, giving each other sharp glances. Alice wondered how Jasmine might conceive a child of Daniel if their attitude was like that of ants and cats.

"Don't let your guard down, Alice. That's what Luiz expects of us. He gives us leeway, as if we are forgotten and provokes us to do something beyond vigilance. When that happens, Luiz can catch yourself easily as a lure to get Klayver out of hiding right now."

James breathed heavily. He heard every explanation from Violin carefully. James's face was uncertain. It seemed that he was quite worried about the development of this condition.

"My wife is right, Alice. Luiz was a man who was impossible to give up. He was silent because he had a purpose. He is now observing us with more incentive. Although Luiz's current whereabouts are still undetectable, but I'm sure the man is still not far from us. I heard that one of his men, Liza, is still in jail. I don't know what Luiz's goal is, but I don't think Luiz will go far without freeing Liza first. The woman said to be Luiz's confidant."

James clenched his teeth, restraining his anger. His jaw looks hard. Both of his hands clenched firmly, holding back the emotion of imagining about any devious actions that Luiz was now planning for them.

"Could Luiz have thrown Liza away? I followed the progress of the woman. I heard she was attacked several times by other criminals in a women's prison. Liza was treated several times for this." Daniel chimed.

Caterine who saw this serious situation immediately added to the supply of coffee in the main teapot after previously making it quickly in the coffee maker. This kind of conversation will usually take a long time. Alice and the rest of the family often asked for additional coffee from Caterine so that the woman began to move deftly without being asked again.

Working for Alice has made Caterine understand the ins and outs of this family. Caterine understood a lot of things. From small habits, their likes, to simple things that are not important.

"Could Luiz have indeed deliberately let Liza be suppressed by the circumstances?" jasmine asked narrowed her eyes, fumbling around.

Jasmine this time wore a soft long suit with a pale yellow color. Winter is still going on. This kind of weather doesn't support Jasmine wearing her sexy clothes. Forced the clothes to be idle in his big closet. Usually starting spring Jasmine can return to perform as usual. But given her pregnancy, it seems like Jasmine can't wear her favorite clothes for the next few months. Hopefully by the time that happens, Klayver has returned to Alice's side, so Daniel does not know about her pregnancy.

"Let his own men be tortured like that in prison? I think that's impossible. Where there's someone who does dirty things for his men." Alice denied Jasmine's opinion.

In the world Alice knew, the welfare of the men affected the well-being of her superiors. The safety of the men affects the safety of his superiors. Where there is someone who deliberately cornered his own men. It's the same as insinuating yourself. That way, his men would just go and choose to betray the superiors? Alice would definitely run away if she became a cornered man for no good reason.

"That's the general formula, Alice. We're talking about Luiz. Someone I'm sure must have a psychological defect on many sides. As for Luiz's size, anything he could have done. No matter if he had to kill hundreds of his men once." Violin explained.

Jasmine, Daniel, and James nodded small. They all approved every word for word Violin uttered. Violin's right. As far as Luiz is concerned, anything can happen. For Luiz, whatever is around him is a medium that can be moved at will with certain goals. Including his men.

"How can there be such a person. He's the same as a madman!" Alice shuddered in horror, confirming the collar of the warm shirt she was wearing.

"Not a madman, Alice, but a psychopath. In this world, there are many people with such abnormalities. I even thought there was something worse than Luiz. You'd be surprised to know people like that." James added. He rubbed his chin, letting his pair of dark eyes glare. It's as if James is exploring his old memories of psychopaths he knew.

"Oh, Oh my God. Do people like them get no direction? Counseling to a psychologist, for example?"

Alice's two hands stretched out, beginning to question many things. There are different types of pain in this world. Those who are physically ill and need a doctor, those who are psychically ill who need a psychiatrist and psychologist. Both types of people should get incentivized treatment. That way, they can recover and return to society better.

"Counseling is only for those who are aware of themselves being sick and want to exercise. That alone for a person like this does not guarantee a hundred percent cure. Psychic pain is very different from ordinary pain. It will easily surface again and recur repeatedly. In fact, many of them are not aware that they are sick. They refuse all kinds of counseling. How can they be healed?

"Oh one more. Even worse, those who are aware if the psychic is sick but actually accept the situation well. This last type of person combined with the money and power he has, then they succeed in becoming a psychopath scary and unhelpful." Violin explained at length. He put away the plate in front of him, waved to Caterine and asked the waiter to give her some extra caffeine.

Their conversation looks like it will be a long time. Violin is used to having coffee after dinner, although this is a bit unnatural. The habits that Alice and the others managed to emulate.

"The world is vast, Alice. There are many things that we do not know but secretly exist and are among us." James' eyes darkened revealing his own opinion.

The world is wide. The universe is wider. If we don't meet people with certain criteria, that doesn't mean those people don't exist. Maybe it's on our side, butchering us by waiting for the right time. We're the only ones who don't realize all that.

"I know, it's just that I think it all happened in theory. I mean, it's a little surprising that it's actually happening in a real capacity around us." Alice smiled weakly

He knows from the information available, some humans have certain psychic abnormalities. Even the existing history states that many of the leading figures who suffer from certain psychic disorders. But Alice did not think, many groups of people like this, could be on her side without certain symptoms.

Daniel sits in the front garden chair of Alice's house. He sipped the coffee from the golden-coloured ceramic cup. The taste of this coffee is very delicious and tempting tastes. But somehow it felt numb in Daniel's mouth. He felt his senses were no longer as good as usual.

His focus on enjoying something was drastically reduced. Especially if after he had come into contact with Jasmine. His mood changed erratically. Daniel himself did not understand every reaction he had. Why is it like this?

"Caterin!" call Daniel to see the waiter happen to walk to turn off some of the hand lights because it was so late.

"Yes, Mr. A stranger?" the servant approached Daniel.

"Can you get Jasmine? Tell him I need to talk to him!" Daniel asked in an unconvinced tone. He seemed to be weighing something.

"Jasmine? Oh, fine!" Caterine just passed by at lightning speed. He pulled out a part of his black and white servant skirt to make his steps easier and faster.

Caterine is one of the people who believe in romantic stories like in fairy tales. Including Daniel and Jasmine. He assumed, in fact they deserved to have the story behind every cold expression of the two. Although on the surface they both seem hostile and do not have a single match, but Caterine thinks they are actually two people who are very suitable for each other.

Not long after, Jasmine came to the front page. The atmosphere is starting to fade. Some rooms of the house have been extinguished lights. The servants who usually go back and forth have also been lulled by each other's beautiful dreams. Only a few people remained conscious and were in their rooms.

Snow still occasionally falls, proving that winter has not yet passed. Perhaps another month of snow will be lifted, the land of Manhattan could again welcome a beautiful spring. The flowers are back in bloom, the trees will again be charming as before.

Jasmine came closer to Daniel in thick pajamas of dark brown soft fur. The woman's steps looked graceful, like a goddess. Jasmine's eyes had very special rays of light. A ray that Daniel did not catch from other women, even women who had a good reputation.

"What's wrong? Caterine said you had something to talk about!" Jasmine stood about seven feet away from Daniel. He folded his hands in front of his chest, forming self-protection. It was as if Daniel was a form of danger that the woman had to watch out for.

Daniel stood up and stepped forward. Unknowingly, Jasmine took a step back automatically. His eyes showed a high alertness. Its blue net hides a ray that previously looked beautiful.

"What's up, Jasmine? Don't tell me you're afraid of me. That's really not funny!" Daniel raised his eyebrows, looking clueless with Jasmine's behavior like this.

"No. I just refuse to get close to you. We ... do not fit each other. So, you better just tell me what you want and let me get back to rest." Jasmine said firmly. He crossed his arms, making his self-defense stronger.

Perhaps this was a less plausible reason to reveal, but it was indeed what Jasmine was feeling right now. He refused to go near Daniel. Afraid that the familiar reactions she had for this man would emerge and dominate her, defeating common sense. It's not funny that he just turned himself in to Daniel for no apparent reason.

While Daniel could only stand his sculpting within the safe distance that Jasmine had set for them. He felt he didn't understand himself. There was a slight anger hearing Jasmine was unwilling to get close to him. Whether the reason Jasmine was deliberately made up or indeed told the truth, still Daniel felt unacceptable.

"What are you calling me, Daniel?" jasmine asked repeating back the question she had previously asked.

Silence filled them. There's a pretty long pause. Only the sound of the winter wind dominated the setting. The vegetables carried a bone-chilling cold, even though they were both wearing warm clothes.

Daniel closed his eyes for a moment, trying to string the words in his brain to get to Jasmine. The words he had tried to string together, but at this moment it was difficult for him to express. Daniel didn't anticipate it would end up like this.

"I want one more night with you. Just tell me how much it costs. I'll pay in advance."
