This week, everything went on normally. Alice, Jasmine, Violin, and James were doing as many activities as the previous days.
There are no suspicious things. Despite the truth, Alice is convinced that Violin began to secretly carry out her secret plan to eliminate Luiz Martinez.
Evidently lately, Violin's men who were ordered to escort Alice began to decrease in number little by little. They usually numbered about twelve. However, lately the bodyguards that Violin had placed in order to guard Alice were only about eight or nine people. This incident makes Alice think that some of the people who were not present had been told by Violin to carry out a mission related to his plan to eliminate Luiz Martinez.
Alice tried not to think about this, because she did not want to worry too much about the days ahead. Alice was confident that Violin, James, Jasmine, and Daniel would take care of her seriously so that no danger would be present.
What Alice was thinking at the moment was about the state of Klayver. Her husband had been away from home for four months. Four months that felt so long for Alice. In the past, Alice remembered that Klayver had promised to leave for about six months. The time that Klayver had promised was only two months left. The two months were the two longest Alice had ever felt in her entire life. She hoped her husband could come home earlier than originally planned. Hopefully Klayver's business out there will produce good and smooth results so that Klayver can go home safely to Alice to live the days as before.
This morning, Alice was observing a picture frame of Klayver that she had taken half a year ago when they were together. Alice smiled slightly, imagining the times when they were still together and going through many days of fun. Suddenly Alice's room door was knocked by Caterine in a slightly loud voice.
"Mistress?! Madam?!" Caterine half yelled.
"What's up, Cat?" Alice immediately put back the picture of the frame in her hand onto the nightstand. He walked quickly to the door of the room, afraid that bad things would start happening again.
"Mrs and Master are looking for you. They're in the first floor workspace. Jasmine was there too. They expect Madam to go downstairs right now. There seems to be something bad going on." Caterine toyed with her fingers. He lowered his head towards the floor, feeling uneasy about delivering this news.
The mistress and master were the names Caterine used for Violin and James. She had seen Violin's tense face when they all asked her to call Alice into the study. From the look on her face, Violin seemed to have some bad news.
"good. I'm going downstairs now. Cat, you prepare breakfast early, okay?" Alice walked in a bit of a hurry. He walked down the stairs two-two at once.
In the study, a private room that Alice had allowed Violin and James to use during their time here, had gathered five people. William, Daniel, Violin, James, and Jasmine. They all sat around the work desk now occupied by Violin.
Violin's face shone with an unhappy expression. He pointed at the seat left for Alice to occupy and let the atmosphere be gripped by silence for a moment. No one spoke, not even Jasmine, the woman who had been known as the Violin debater.
This room has shown in its own way that Violin has managed to make things as important as a funeral. No one dared to speak. No one dared to make an attitude.
"Violin" Alice's great-grandson was like a little mouse. He wanted to ask about what happened, but was a little reluctant about the current state of affairs created between all of them.
"I sent an intruder to go to jail and finish off Luiz Martinez. My three people were all killed last night. I thought, Luiz must have anticipated this a long time earlier so that he could avoid, even eliminate, my people."
The mood became increasingly tense. Luiz had figured out Violin's plan first. Nothing is more worrying than this news. All of this points to one thing.
There are traitors among them. A traitor who has leaked the secrets and plans of the Violin previously very secretive.
In an organization, loyalty is the main point. One time information is spread by traitors, it means there is a loss in an organization that will gnaw them and destroy all its members.
Information leakage is a fatal error. The lives of others can be floated because of this. Violin and James were well aware of their weak and vulnerable situation.
"There's a traitor among us."
Daniel spoke words that represented everyone today. That is their main thought. Each of them made a list of suspects from the main culprit. Who would do this?
Alice stared one by one at the people in the room. Violin and James. They were two people who strongly considered the importance of family values and the main planner of Luiz's murder. There's no way they're betraying Alice.
Daniel. He's a man who once held a sense of belonging to her, gave a lot to Alice, and remained faithful in giving her the best even though the position Alice acknowledged for them was just friendship. If Daniel was a traitor, he wouldn't have to do it now. The man should have taken the position to attack Alice.
Jasmine. She was the woman Klayver trusted. Klayver's judgment is never wrong because he has strong intuition. Alice believed in Klayver completely and believed in everyone Klayver trusted. In this way, Jasmine was not the person Alice would suspect to be a traitor.
Only William remains. If Alice had to admit William a traitor, she would rather be cursed by the world many times over. For Chrissakes. What William has done for Alice is innumerable. Even Alice believes that if she were in danger, William would be the first person to sacrifice his life for her other than Klayver.
Everyone in this room is impossible to betray. There must be other traitors besides them. Alice moved her eyelids, thinking about something in greater detail.
"I bet there's no traitor in this room. The only possibility is your own people. One of your men escorting Alice, may have learned of this plan and leaked it to Luiz's side." Jasmine voiced out her thoughts.
Everyone turned their heads towards Jasmine. Their reactions are the same. Shocked for a moment and then muttered to express their opinions.
James rubbed the tip of his nose a few times. His forehead is uncomfortable. He tried to assess the situation by looking at the people in the room one by one. It seemed that he was also taking the possibilities from each person just like Alice had done before.
After a while, James stretched his hand muscles regularly to relieve tension and got up from the chair, walking around the contents of the room.
"Luiz is a very slippery guy. He's snake. It's not impossible if he infiltrates and takes some of the people we put in as Alice's bodyguards, so they become a fortress switch on him. Everyone has weaknesses. Some of our bodyguards have good family backgrounds. A good mother, a simple father, and other family members they care about. Imagine if Luiz threatened them by harming his family. Do you think those guards will remain unmoved and not bow to Luiz?"
James' words are the truth. A fact that managed to slap Violin. In this world, a loyalty would be lost by threat. Who can survive if the most important ace in a person is used as a gamble?
Luiz is a cruel man and a cunning planner. He was skilled at suppressing the other party in extremely cruel ways. The people that the Violin had and were assigned to guard Alice were indeed the chosen ones. Therapy does not mean it cannot be infected.
"Violin," call James softly. The man approached his wife, gently touched her beloved woman's shoulder, and gave her support by rubbing her repeatedly.
"Everything can happen, dear …." James tried to make Violin aware of this fact.
The brown haired woman who was embraced in such an elegant style could only look at her husband resignedly. James's right. The corner of his heart began to hurt realizing his men were betraying. His anger was nothing compared to the heartache he had. Who does not hurt if the people who have been trained and helped develop well, now turned stabbing from behind. Violin is cold and stubborn. He sometimes implements high discipline in every situation. Including not giving a gap for his people while on duty.
However, basically Violin is a gentle hearted woman. He considered the people around him, especially his family and subordinates, to be the most important part of him. The inseparable and difficult part he just lives in every circumstance. How could they have betrayed?
"I need time to investigate and accept this, James." Violin's voice was shrill, full of defeat. She let her husband's burly hands support her from behind, draining the strength she had always gained from her beloved man.
"It's okay. You really need time for this. Now the problem is, Luiz has figured out our plan so his vigilance is heightened. It's getting harder to touch her again this time." James rubbed his face with a rough gesture. Damn indeed. Luiz's problem really got them all in trouble.
"I put a lot of ears around Luiz. Guess what I got. He now intends to pay bail to get out of custody. He's working with the courts and I'm betting that in these weeks, Luiz will breathe free air. That way, the man had a greater chance of attacking Alice at any time." Daniel added an important piece of information he got from a secret spy who was in the vicinity where Luiz was being held.
Violin and James seemed to be holding back the anger. Their faces look unpleasant. The muscles in James' jaw were more tense than ever. Until the green stripes of his muscles appear to grow by themselves.
It's easy for this country to receive money guarantees from high-class criminals like Luiz. James thinks the state government has not managed to get strong evidence about the crimes of the Luiz mafia so he finally chose to surrender. Moreover, Luiz's money flowed quickly like a spring. It was also impossible for him to bribe some important people for his sake.
"What can we do now?" William looked worried. He dislikes the thought of his master's enemies roaming freely and threatening Alice at any time.
"We can only observe and increase alertness. It was impossible to attack Luiz at this moment. He must have prepared for self-defense and is not easily penetrated by us. Attacking him at this moment only meant suicide." James answered what it was.
What can they do? Luiz is not a fool. He is a calculating and perfect strategy planner. Although he was tempramental, but his steps were quite structural. Tidy and neat.
"James's right. Right now we're just going to be spectators. Being too hasty to attack him was also not a wise thing. That guy was scary. Maybe if things benefit us, Klayver can come back soon. I think he's the one who's fit to solve this problem. He's fighting a decent Luiz. Right now our focus is just to hang on. If we find a loophole, it's good to strike again." Alice voices. The tone is final and undeniable.
What Alice delivered was a representative of each person in this room. They all agreed to hold back and simply become observers. A smart person needs to know when it's time to step back to take another, more promising step.
"alright. Then then. You can continue your activities again." James smiled slightly, noticing Jasmine's face starting to turn pale again. The woman had not fully recovered from the fever last night. His body looks weaker than usual. If this matter wasn't important, James was actually reluctant to request Jasmine's presence this early.
"alright. We can have breakfast immediately. I've asked Caterine to prepare breakfast early. Jasmine, if you're still unwell, I'll take your breakfast to the room. How's it?" Alice offered herself.
"alright. Looks like I should indeed be a slacker for this one day. I'll go straight back to the room. You can come to me later." Jasmine got up and walked slowly leaving the room.
This time, Violin chose not to have any debate with Jasmine. This was the first time they had sat together without having a tongue-lick to each other.
After each person left, Violin and James stared at each other deeply. There was a wist in both eyes of Violin. It is about defeat and weakness.
"You okay, honey?" James looked at his wife worriedly.
"good. I was just thinking. Is our organization getting weaker so that facing Luiz alone is not able to? Or is Luiz too strong to be defeated?" violin's look was comparable to the increasingly dark look in her eyes.
"Come, Honey. Maybe the world is spinning too fast that our strength is not comparable in the face of Luiz. No matter what, he's not a random guy." James stared at the ceiling of the room, his two eyes revealing another light.
