The Rhyme of the Depositary

The Rhyme of the Depositary
005 - SEASON 2

After passing hours of saturating flight on the plane, Alice breathed a sigh of relief as she successfully landed in LA. He exited the airport carrying a medium-sized suitcase. A sweet perched sunglasses covered her eyes from the sunlight.

This month is starting to enter the summer. Alice was only wearing a short shirt with comfortable cloth pants. He needs to cover himself with the weather. The temperature started to rise towards noon.

Alice went down the sidewalk and stopped herself in front of one of the star hotels. He decided to take a chek in a few nights in this town. Alice doesn't know how long she'll be looking for Aaron Stephen. He had to prepare everything possible from now on.

After successfully getting the room he wanted, Alice lay down for a moment to calm the symptoms of jetlag that he experienced. A cold shower is really tempting nowadays. He forced his body up and immediately walked towards the bathroom that was in the corner.

Slowly, Alice took off her clothes and rinsed her body with cold water. Really fresh. This water can reduce the stress that he experienced.

His thoughts have been getting messy lately. The loss of three family members at the same time made him slump in new pain. But he tried hard to endure it all. All he thought about was Axel. What will the fate of the child be if he falls? His son needs his mother's strength to stay afloat through the strange life they lead.

Oh God. A year has passed and the memories of Anson have still not been removed from his memory. Many times she accidentally called her husband's name as if he was alive and well. Alice would feel pain when she realized Anson was long gone.

How can time go so fast and make his life lie dormant? Alice wanted to curse life, but she was afraid of karma. He could only give up and hope that someday the rainbow would come.

After feeling better, Alice covered herself with a towel provided by the hotel and went out to the balcony to sunbathe for a while.Dalam time, her skin has been reddish in the sun. From the beginning he was sensitive every time he came into contact with hot air directly. Alice decided to go back to the room and get dressed. It's time he got ready to find out Aaron's whereabouts.

As Alice exited the room and walked down the hallway, her mind began to get busy with many questions.

Who is Aaron Stephen? Why did Anson leave a clue to the man? Could they have been close friends? Or maybe they are an organization? Or could it be Aaron under him?

All possibilities begin to form in Alice's head. He snorted a little and immediately looked for a taxi to drive him to the spot as per Anson's instructions.

Aaron Stephen's.

Alice must remember the name.

This taxi takes Alice through the streets expertly. The driver was a young man in his late twenties. Alice was quite satisfied with her excitement so she added quite a lot of tips.

"Oh thank you Miss, you are so generous." The two young men eyes sparkled happily. Alice only smiled slightly in response.

"You're not just a pretty Miss, you're like an angel."

Alice laughed at the young man's response. He shook his head, feeling comforted. It's hard to find someone nice enough these days.

"If you need to be delivered anywhere tomorrow, just call me at this number. I'll be ready to pick you up and take you wherever you want. I'm also good at knowing the great places in this city. Especially the shopping issue. I have a myriad of references."

Alice thanked the young man for his offer and received a business card. Max Street's. Waw. His last name means the street. It seemed like the man had a knack for agility from birth.

"Don't be too formal with me, Max. Just call me Alice."

Max was pleased. "Alright Alice, you've reached where you're headed."

Max stopped on the shoulder of the road. Alice looked around among the quiet streets covered only by trees on her right and left. There are only a few simple houses in this neighborhood. One of them was a small and heartbreaking wooden house next to their car.

"Are you sure this house is the address I showed you?" Alice was doubtful. He looked at the little cottage that looked gloomy. At first glance it looks sturdy, but like uninhabited for long.

"Yes. Very suitable. The number and the net are the same." Max was a little surprised. How could a beautiful woman like Alice look for a place like this?

Dqhi Max furrowed unhappily and looked at Alice uncomfortably.

"Alice, I just remembered something. This house became the suspect of murder three times two years ago. However, the case was not settled when it was brought to court. I heard it's a guy named Stephen's back."

My God, Alice is feeling nauseous. He stared at the cottage hesitantly and wanted to turn around leaving as far away as possible this cursed place.

Is Aaron a murder suspect? How could he now even come willingly to this place? It's the same as bringing life.

"Are you sure you want to come to this place?"

Max hesitated. He didn't want to get his own passengers into trouble. After all, Alice was quite a generous woman. He should not let a good woman seem to bear danger.

"It seems like it doesn't have to."

Alice had no other choice. The hint from Anson was just this place. He had to brave himself to find any information he could get. After all, he's traveled all the way from Manhattan to here. Will he be a coward and let his efforts go to waste?

"Are you sure?" Max asked back.

"Yes." Yeah."

"You want me to come with you inside?" Max asked timidly. It seemed that the man's courage was smaller than Alice's.

After much deliberation, Alice refuses Max's offer. He wants to discuss something sensitive, Max shouldn't know about their conversation.

"I want to go in alone. You wait somewhere not far from here. If I'm done, I'll call you to pick me up" Alice asked, who was immediately replied by a nod by Max.

"Max, though,"

"Yes?"

"If in an hour I don't call you, it's a good idea to call the cops here."

Max's face paled slightly at the thought of the possibility. He was like a frightened child. The truth is, is he now trapped heroic action like in the movies?

"Can you not joke like this?" Max said softly. He massaged his temple helplessly.

"alright. See you, Max."

"Miss ... Miss .. You'd better undo your intentions. Miss ... Hey, you gotta listen to me!"

Alice ignored Max's screams and just got out of the car.

Max feels gambled. He then left this place and looked for another more comfortable place to wait for Alice. I hope she's lucky enough, because Max wouldn't be too brave to help her if anything happened. My God, this cowardly trait he has he can't change in the past. He's a man who doesn't like danger very much.

Alice imagines a horror movie. Usually the setting that is often used in the film is exactly as he sees it. The creepy old cottage, full of mystery and abandoned. The difference is, the horror film uses a nighttime setting, while he experiences it when the middle sun shines perfectly.

Alice was slightly goosebumpsed as she was already standing right in front of the door. An attached iron latch is fused with a wooden door that serves to replace the modern bell. Alice slowly touched the latch and knocked it several times, making a loud clinking sound.

One second passed. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Hp …

krieeeetttt

Alice retreated abruptly as the door began to open. Alice's breath chases erratically. He held his chest with all his energy. My God, this situation has a shock effect like a thriller.

An old man about seventy years old stood in front of Alice. This person had a dry skinny stature with all whitened hair. His eyes were silver with sharp glaring eyes. There was a cruelty that he could not hide from his eyes. He was wearing a short-sleeved shirt and cloth pants that looked oversized.

Alice cleared her throat, feeling awkward. Fear began to spread throughout his body. Did the murder rumors really happen? Could this guy be the culprit? Alice was getting more worried. My God, she's a weak woman who could have been conquered in one hit by an experienced man. Although the man looks old, but Alice believes his ability must not be careless.

"Ehem, I'm Allice, are you Mr. Aaron Stephen?"

Alice cleared her throat. He looked around, reading the atmosphere. God fucking. There's no one around. If anything happens to Alice, God and the devil are the witnesses.

"Yes. You're pretty smart, Miss. Don't tell me you got lost in my cabin." Aaron chuckles amusedly. Although his face showed humor, but the abomination in the look of his eyes did not fade in the slightest. He's even scarier than Anson.

"No, Sir. I'd like to speak to you personally. Can I just ask you for a minute?"

Aaron saw seriousness in Alice's eyes. This woman is a little unique. Although Aaron could detect the terrified reaction from the look on his face, but his determination was strong enough to survive here. Pastidia has a specific purpose.

"alright. I never refused a beautiful woman. Come in, "the bargain is friendly, open the door wider.

Alice stood there. Is it wise to enter the tiger's den? What if he doesn't make it out alive?

"Come, Miss. It's too late if you're scared." Aaron laughed a little. She liked the fear reaction Alice showed. This woman is very attractive.

Alice slowly walked into the living room. He has no other choice. I don't want him to have to go through all this. Alice's heart was beating more and more erratically.

This living room has a size of seven times five. Not too small actually. Every wooden wall has a decoration ... wait, what is it? The skull? Oh my God, is that a human skull?

Alice retreated to the front door. He had no idea what kind of madman was using skulls for display in the living room.

Aaron who saw Alice's fear only smiled a little. This woman was like a child that was easily feared. He likes to play with someone's emotions.

"Come, Miss. All of it was an artificial skull. You don't have to think weird about me. I used to be a doctor. I have a huge collection of fake human bones."

Alice squinted in disbelief. Could it be that what he heard was the truth? Aaron could have lied to deceive him. Alice hit him on the head, hesitating a little. Why would he be stuck with a soul patient like Aaron?

But again, he had no other choice. Alice ventured into the room and sat down on the wooden chair. He left the door open. If at any time Aaron had bad intentions, Alice wished she could still escape.

"You want to drink something?"

Alice nodded quickly. He did not want to drink the poison that the strange man could have served. It seemed like Alice's paranoid soul had appeared and destroyed all of her healthy thoughts.

"Well, what's your purpose here? You're not a reporter trying to dig up a murder case two years ago, are you?"

Alice coughed violently. He had just calmed down, why did Aaron come back to raise his fear again? Could Aaron be deliberately playing himself? God fucking.

"No. I'm not a reporter." Alice shook her head strongly.

"Are you the one who happens to be curious about the case?" Aaron brought the case back.

"No. I'm .. I'm here to talk about something."

Alright. Alice must quickly complete her intentions. He had no idea how long he would stay in this house.

"You know Anson Mallory?"

Aaron's face immediately changed pias. He turned his head to the side and kicked a small object that he happened to meet.

"Yes. I heard that he had died a while ago," he said with an odd expression. Alice cleared her throat again and tried to string the words together.

"I am his widow," explained Alice softly, feeling back the sudden searing pain.

Aaron looked at Alice with a sharp glare. The expression in his eyes was hard to guess. He looked at Alice in a very intensive way. Alice shriveled in the wooden chair, feeling again terrified.

"You're his widow?"

"Yes." Yeah." Alice said softly. He busied himself to look at the ceiling of the cottage so that his fear would not return.

"I heard she has children too."

Alice nodded, letting a small cry out from her beautiful lips. The pain was too real for him to feel again. His heart is always frail when it comes to Anson. My God, half of his life has gone so fast.

"Three kids. Our two children have died some time after Anson's departure" Alice said. He gripped the end of his shirt and cried softly. Oh God. This pain never decreases. Always same.

He thought time would cure him. But it turns out that pain never goes away, as if it becomes eternal. Every second he spent after Anson's departure was nothing but a meaningless void. His life was empty and empty.

"What exactly are you trying to say, Alice?"

Alice looked at this man with a giddy look. He then conveyed his meaning.

"I suspect the death of Anson and the children was a coincidence. I found a written message from Anson stating if our condition is in trouble, I was asked to come and ask for your help, Sir."
