The Rhyme of the Depositary

The Rhyme of the Depositary
023 - SEASON 2

Rachel looked at the dark-colored night sky. For a few days he went through in silence. He chose to stand in a corner, being an observer for the Millian family. In his heart, he held great curiosity. Who and what activities the Millian family actually did.

Every night he went through alone. His relationship with Maxen has not improved at all. They sleep separately from each other. Their communication is limited to the basics only.

Despite the initial intentions of this marriage, Maxen acts benevolently to Rachel. He rationed Rachel's finances periodically, and forced Rachel to accept him. The monthly amount of money is quite fantastic and can finance almost all the pent-up desires that Rachel has.

Rachel refused to use the money. He felt unworthy to wear it. However, she was not a real wife so she did not deserve all the benefits Maxen gave her.

Tonight, Rachel sat at the head of the bed thinking about many things. He went through many days without any news of developments regarding Harry. In his heart, he wondered. What the man had been through decided to hide in the dark.

Rachel asked Alice about Harry. Alice said that according to William's information, Harry was one of William's trusted people. That's the only information he got. Regarding his condition and existence, William was not willing to open his voice.

Clamps

The door sounds open. Rachel was on alert immediately. The door is always locked. If anyone opens it, none other than that person must be Maxen. The man always felt Rachel's room was still his territory. Really makes him uncomfortable.

"What's wrong?" Rachel's eyes narrowed in dislike. He looked at the masculine figure who entered his room without any guilt.

Maxen curled the tip of his lips, forming a small grin. Silver pajamas look charming wrapped her burly body. He walked slowly, like a predator ready to pounce on prey.

Rachel was beginning to feel intimidated. His back stiffened, alert to all possibilities.

"It's okay. I just want to see you." Maxen said lightly and sat on the other side of the bed.

Rachel swallowed with great difficulty.

Seen her? What kind of reason is that.

"You've seen me. Go, Maxen. Don't bother me." Rachel said half a whisper. The request he made sounded full of requests. It does not resemble a command.

"Don't go too far. You can't kick your own husband out." Maxen looked at Rachel with sparkling eyes. This time there was a new softness. Something Rachel had just seen from the man.

"You're just a husband on paper, Maxen. Don't start playing drama." Rachel is stubborn.

Honestly, he doesn't understand what Maxen's real purpose is. He only felt his vigilance needed to be strengthened many times over at this moment. That guy, it's quite mysterious.

"Rachel, could it be that marriage on paper has not the slightest meaning to you?" maxen asked suddenly, making Rachel a small jerk.

Rachel blinked a few times. He couldn't feel where Maxen was headed this time. Could it be that the man tried to manipulate him and provoke information about Harry's whereabouts? If so, Maxen would have to swallow the disappointment.

Rachel's not allowed to know, let alone Maxen. Impossible.

"What do you mean, Maxen? You started fishing games with me?" rachel asked with suspicion.

Day after day, the suspicions Rachel has for Maxen are growing out of bounds. There was not a single speck of trust in him.

"Rachel, something in life doesn't always end badly, despite having a bad start. Not always someone like me is interested in continuing to install new games."

Maxen tries to understand Rachel's reluctance. Somehow Rachel knew, the woman seemed to have found out that Maxen had another side. A side they don't deserve to talk about.

Could Rachel have known about it from Harry? Has the man recently managed to contact Rachel and warn her to stay away from Maxen?

"Maybe you've been seeing Harry lately?" maxen couldn't hold back any longer.

Rachel blinked her eyes twice. He remembered Harry's message not to divulge their meeting. That way, Rachel could only shake her head vigorously to deny Maxen's question.

"Your eyes can't lie, my wife," said Maxen softly.

Rachel is a pretty innocent person, although her emotions are often uncontrollable. That is why every time he lies, the light of his eyes shines the truth. For a sensitive man like Maxen, such things could clearly be captured easily.

"It's up to you not to believe." Rachel is still trying to dodge, protect her lies. Her mood was a little chaotic hearing Maxen call her as a wife. That's .. too weird.

"Well, you can keep the truth to yourself, Rachel. It's just, if you met Harry, did you ask what reason he had for leaving you just before the wedding?" asked Maxen.

Rachel massaged her temples. He doesn't want to discuss this topic right now with Maxen. But just like the old Maxen was quite difficult to just get kicked out of his room.

"If he gives you a cliche excuse like 'I left you for your good. Since I love you too much' then you should ask yourself. How much kindness and love he offers so that it can leave you in a critical position ahead of marriage.

"If I become him, the more I love someone, the less I can leave him. I will find a way in my own power to protect my woman and to give her kindness. Think about it, Rachel. Maybe this way, you can see Harry from a different perspective."

Rachel is speechless. His head felt heavy to digest all of Maxen's explanations. The more understood, the more difficult it is to understand.

"You're a man who's too easy to fool, Rachel. Change a little smarter." Mexen told the truth.

For Maxen, Harry was still a coward in his eyes. The man would never run away leaving the frail woman behind him if he really loved Rachel. His actions only strengthened as low as his courage.

"So since I'm easily fooled, you fooled me too, didn't you? What exactly is your purpose in marrying me?" Rachel answered a question she had been holding for days without being able to reveal.

"You're not a man who thinks of good names above all else. So what exactly is the reason you married me? Don't tell me just to shut down the gossip."

Rachel had thought of Harry's last words. Maxen is not someone who upholds morality and is willing to marry simply because of family pride.

So, her ability to marry Rachel is still a question mark. Could it be just a step to provoke Harry's whereabouts?

If yes, then all of this has no effect. After all, Harry still did not appear openly even though he knew his partner in the control of the Millian family. He was like an impossible prisoner to set free.

"Think all you want, Rachel. In your eyes, I am ********'. So, your mind is formed automatically that I am evil. I explained it to you too." Maxen said what it was.

Rachel rubbed her nose. He began to observe Maxen more closely. The confession he just heard doesn't that mean Maxen isn't a good person?

"Maxen," called Rachel in a soft voice.

"Who are you really? What kind of person are you?"

The atmosphere of the room changed after the question came out of Rachel's mouth. Only the ticking of the wall clock became the background sound.

The question is simple. But too deep. Rachel has been asking about who Maxen is. Something the man had never expected before.

Long time ago, Maxen did not respond to anything. He stood up, took a step at a time towards the giant window on the side of the room, and flicked his curtain. Makes the night view slick on them.

The sky looks beautiful tonight The moon and stars are scattered in the sky, forming a light that pleases the eyes. There, the night seemed to offer tranquility and warmth.

Maxen stared at the night sky with an indecipherable emotion. He often observes the night. Always dark. Nothing has changed. Even if there was a star like this, it would only happen a few days out of the entire day.

Light and dark. It is a true intensity. The two are always there, opposite each other, but complementary. There is no light without darkness. There is no light if there is no such thing as darkness.

Darkness due to light. If the existence of one of them completely disappears, then the other one also no longer has any meaning. The unique continuity.

"I .. is a darkness itself. Someone who had long been mired without light. Even if I had seen it, the light was just something that seemed far out of reach. Hard to reach."

Maxen was silent again. That answer is the real answer. Rachel should have caught him.

Rachel had expected this. Everything Maxen has is not simple. The man is too complex. Like a color, it is the mixing of all colors.

However, hearing this confession did not stop his heart from feeling sympathy. Someone who has lived in the dark for a long time, must be quite tormented.

Basically, what needs light is not just the body. But also the soul. Light is a very important thing. His loss is a process of self-destruction.

Rachel stood up, walked over to Maxen and followed the night sky.

"Even in darkness, there will always be light after. God cannot be cruel to let people be trapped without light forever. Every thing has an end. Every thing has an end. There is no cycle that does not stop. The dark end is light. You have to be sure of that." Rachel patted Maxen's back steadily. He wanted to share a little of the confidence he had in the man.

Honestly, Maxen didn't expect Rachel to give a boost with words like this. He had kept everything all by himself for a long time. There was no sympathy whatsoever that he received no form of concern whatsoever that he got. If anything, it might just be an endless form of judgment.

Harry is one of them. The man who was his sister always judged him to the end. That's why they were at odds with each other from the start. They were two different people and both wanted to pilot the same ship.

Unfortunately, Maxen's powers are too great for him to be about. Harry always loses in the process and chooses to go save all the morality he has. The man had a cowardly side because his desire was only to run away, without being willing to fight until bloody. Although he brags to protect morality, but the way he does not have courage at all.

"Do you think, Rachel?" Maxen turned his head, looking at the old woman standing by his side.

"Yes. It all depends on you. Whether you're gonna welcome the light or not. At the end of the night there's always dawn, Maxen. You're the one who chooses to welcome the day, or keep waiting for the night."

Rachel's eyes were full of seriousness. Unknowingly, he touched Maxen's arm to strengthen. But his hand was caught by Maxen as fast as lightning and was smashed by Maxen's soft lips.

For a moment, Rachel stiffened. He forgot to pull his hand. His eyes were focused only on the man.

Maxen's dark net is burning meaningfully. The light is no longer cold. There was a thick aura that was very tempting from him. Rachel surprised. He felt, this man was too complicated. In the previous second he could take Rachel's sympathy, the second after he could threaten Rachel.

Once again, Maxen kissed Rachel's fingertips that felt soft and smooth. The movement was slow, but it had an incredible effect. Her lips were wet as if carrying a hot taste over Rachel's skin. The woman began to crumble. Every one of his body was screaming with anticipation.

Rachel should have pulled away, she should have retreated from this man. But somehow, both of his legs seemed locked and he could not move. All her joints chose to be silent about whatever Maxen was doing.

Maxen looked at Rachel's net and assessed the situation. He needed to know whether this woman rejected him or not.

Rachel's face was worried. His eyes were unsure. But clearly he had no power to resist what Maxen had begun to do.

Rachel never knew that a touch could feel so alluring. Officially they are husband and wife. But their relationship was like a cold war all day. Rachel was faced with some concern this time.

Maxen didn't wait long. He grabbed Rachel and trapped her in a warm embrace. Her field chest seemed ready to prop up Rachel, offering her the strength she needed.

Gently, Maxen rubbed the woman's back. The man's breath hit part of his face. Next to her hand began to touch Rachel's blonde mane and untie her gently.

The movement is slow, but sure. She paled her face at Rachel's shoulder curve, sipping a familiar scent like a lily. A gentle aroma that can be intoxicating.

Rachel is another name for beauty. Maxen gave a slow kiss on the side of his wife's neck and teased the small hollow on the shoulder, which became the woman's sensitive point.

Rachel's hands were still limp on her side. His eyes became increasingly undetectable. Shortness of breath. He looked at Maxen and opened his eyes slowly.

Seeing Rachel like this, makes Maxen lose control. He rubbed the full tip of Rachel's lips and began to kiss her. Sweet. This kiss feels beautiful. It was better many times than he had expected all along.

Maxen let go of her kiss and looked at Rachel wordlessly. His hands began to slowly infiltrate behind the pajamas Rachel was wearing. That was when Rachel flinched and retreated away. The fog in his eyes was gone, restoring the consciousness he had.

"out! You can't use me, Maxen." Rachel's eyes lit up, full of anger.

Rachel turned around and walked quickly towards the bathroom at the end of the room. There was a loud crack as Rachel slammed the door. Behind the door, Rachel rested her frail body. Her voice held onto the chest that now felt like a war drum. His breathing is still disjointed. His entire body was trembling violently. This reaction was too frightening.

In fact, with Harry alone Rachel never felt like this. What's wrong with his body? Why is it that every time in Maxen's presence all the functions of his body are like true traitors.

Outside the room, Maxen stared at Rachel's departure with a meaningful look. Although the woman refused, the therapist knew enough that Rachel's body was responding to her. This fact, made Maxen smile.

At the end of the year of their agreement, she will make the woman conceive her child.
