THE REBIRTH OF A GENIUS. CREATOR/DESTROYER
Chapter 85. Ambushes

Sam looked around. He saw some presence but he could not show what it was. He tried to ignore it and continued on and just as he took a step forward.

*Swoosh*a flying arrow and almost hit his face. Sam dodged it narrowly and immediately took out the Golden Crescent and turned on arc mode. He aimed a bow as he pulled an arrow towards the incoming arrow.

Just as he was about to release the arrow, he felt danger. He immediately shot an arrow and ducked.

*Swoosh*

A spear flew over where his head was before when he was in a standing position. The spear pierced through the tree in the distance from him.

Before he could understand the situation, a fireball came from behind. Sam did his best to dodge and then he was in a situation where he had to keep dodging.

All kinds of spells, and cold weapons flew towards him. Sam fired several arrows in retaliation and one of them actually stuck it in to someone.

"AHHHHHHHH.." He heard a scream from somewhere and he locked the position. He took out arrows one after another and shot at the same spot.

"MUAHHHH..." He heard another scream, and at the end the scream became less and less and as if the person had fainted. And this made all the attacks stop.

Sam stood there with a golden crescent moon in his hand and looked around. His face was calm and focused. Up until now, from the attacks he had avoided, he knew there were a lot of people attacking. If not for his survival instincts and cultivation of his spirit and soul, he would not have been able to avoid it at all.

The things he deduced from the ambush were, they were over 10 people, over half of them had higher cultivation than him and they were inexperienced at this. But there was one thing he wanted to know. WHO'S WHO?

Who made it move and what motive do they have? He goes through people who may have a motive. Some names appear.

Maybe someone from the black water.

eisen family.

Jessi's Dad.

Although he had some other enemies, he had some closeness to the dispute.

Then he thought of the possibility of being one of the three who carried out this attack.

Black water, lack of experience and expertise in ambushes were not something that people of black water would have. Black Water was the largest underground organization and they would at least have some expertise in conducting ambushes. So, they can be eliminated.

Jessie's father, the man may not want to offend Maya anymore with this action and if this fails, it will be considered more than an offense. The odds are very small and almost negligible.

The Eisen family, they do not have enough strength to mobilize this many people in the Falcon Cliff city.

This made him even more confused since he could not think of the enemy, he made who would attack in this situation.

All of these thoughts flashed through his mind within a few seconds. Then he heard a voice from a distance.

"No wonder you got first place. You have some skills." The voice was filled with confidence and superiority.

Sam did not answer. He was looking for that voice. He could sense that he was around, but the other party was almost beyond his reach. He could only vaguely sense the other party's location.

He turned in that direction and pulled an arrow. But this arrow is a rank arrow. Even though it was only a rank one arrow, it would still be painful. Sam began to concentrate and the arrow immediately shone with a golden light. At the end of the arrow was a golden fireball formed.

Before the other party could react, Sam fired an arrow. A golden light flashed through the air. The arrow missed the target but the other party was caught in the explosion.

"You have guts. But do you think you can beat us now. You are surrounded by twenty people and we all have higher cultivation than you. Let's see who wins." The same voice came but this time it trembled slightly.

As soon as the other party finished saying, Sam felt that many people were running towards him. Before he knew it, there were nearly ten people with all sorts of cold weapons and at the same time a long-range spell came.

Sam immediately became tense. All attacks come from all sides. Sam kept the golden crescent and took out his claws. Although these claws were temporary, the material of the claws was a Golden Blood tiger.

He immediately ran towards the city. There was almost no possibility of winning, so he thought of an idea. Sam immediately ran towards the City.

And the enemies coming towards him happened to be in the direction Sam was heading. Sam took his attack, he showed claws towards them like a tiger, he pounced towards the group.

When he landed, he instantly caught the foot of one person and tore off a piece of meat.

"MUAHHHH..." The man immediately shouted. Sam did not stop and continued moving. He looked at the team like a beast. After all, he was really angry. But Sam, there's no hope of winning and he knows it. He had just healed himself but he was not his peak condition and even if he was at his best, he would have a very small chance of escaping without much damage.

And now, he had to deal with this group.

Even the group was dumbfounded. They did not expect that this person would take this kind of posture and they instantly became confused.

Sam stared at a man who was slightly separated from his group and pounced on him like any savage beast would. The man was unprepared and swung his sword at him.

Sam dodged it and twisted his body in the air. He used his dexterity and agility to the maximum and when he landed on the man, he locked onto the hips of others and swung his hands. He tore off his arm and his claws stuck into the person's chest.

But that person who was clearly stronger than Sam, kicked him and tried to stand up. The deep claws on the chest started bleeding profusely.

Sam landed on all fours again and looked towards the group. The other people came out of shock and looked at him in a strange way. They were confused and surprised at the same time. They never see people moving in this way.

Just as they were about to attack, Sam swung his claws into the air and blades of wind flew towards them.

With the attack, Sam firmly turned around and started running, but his running was a bit strange because, he was running with all four legs. He ran like a cheetah.

Although he could attack them with other elements and attacks, his main goal was not to fight them but to flee to the city. He needs to attract the attention of the city guards. From the past incident the city guards were completely on guard.

Sam ran very fast when he crawled. This was the kind of movement technique he had made himself in his past life. Although it would help him move faster, it would greatly deplete his stamina.

When Sam was far from entering the core of the territory, a fireball came and hit his back right. Although the attack was largely mitigated by his coat, it disrupted his rhythm and slipped. He rolled on the ground and lay down. Then before he realized it, a sword came and made a slash in his chest.

Sam gritted his teeth in pain and contracted his chest muscles to withstand the blood loss. But he didn't scream. He just stared at the people who were nearby with hatred and coldness.

As he tried to get up, a water ball hit his chest where the sword slash was. Bleeding increased.

Next a barrage of attacks came while trying to move. But there was no fatal attack. Cold weapons were unable to make any damage to the fur coat and they concentrated their attacks on his chest and legs.

By the time they realized it, they were all surrounded by over forty city guards where over half were late stage Beginners.

The group stopped attacking and Sam just lay on the floor without a sound. He was bleeding from the wound he was suffering from, but he never let out a groan of pain from his mouth.

"Do you think you can catch me? Do you know who I am?" The person who spoke to Sam earlier spoke again. The City Guards did not even speak when a majestic voice came from far away.

"Zeke. The eldest son of the Blue Fire Marquis. May I know why you're here?" When the City guards heard this voice, they felt shocked and nervous at the same time. They knew that the son of the Marquis was not a person that small fries like them could handle.

But they also felt relieved, because they did not do something rashly.

"Falcon Count. You're right here. I only test the candidates selected for the academy's special branch."

When Sam heard this, he finally felt at ease. He thought if the target was really from the previous enemy. But after a moment of calm, anger and hatred came. This bunch of bastards who were at least at Level 3 Novice had ganged on him and now they told him that they were testing. He felt like tearing her apart.

Sam slowly made himself stand up and stared at the group with cold eyes. Even though he was burning inside, he did not show it outside. His face became very cold. He kept his claws and now only saw a group of people to paint their faces in his mind.

"Tests? It seems like your testing standards are too high to think that you would use twenty Novices with higher cultivation to attack him in an ambush." Count Falcon spoke with sarcasm. He was obviously not happy that someone caused a lot of commotion in his territory.

"Well, just so-so." Zeke said nonchalantly as if it was just normal.

"I think we should discuss the other details in my mansion." The count said while pointing to the group. Then he turned towards Sam and said.

"I think it's better if you come too." Sam nodded and followed. On the way, he began to heal himself slowly with the rest of his extremely small energy. When he reached the Count's house, he was taken to a slightly larger meeting room than the one he had previously met with the Count.

Inside the room there were already people waiting and they were all familiar with it. They are a strange trio, Hawk, Kelly, Drew, Philip, Ray and Drew. Everyone from the top 10 rankings of the tournament. He also noticed something else. Except Hawk and Kelly, the rest are injured.

Their faces were pale and weak. When they saw Sam, they did not seem surprised at all.

The count sat on the long table head chair while the higher-ups sat on one side. The group of attackers sat on the other side and the people who did not have seats stood up.

Zeke sat on the seat nearest to the Count and his face was filled with excellence.

Sam just took care of his wound without caring about the meeting.

"Zeke, maybe you can tell why you attacked my top ten ranked Kotaku?" The count asked with a cold look.

Zeke smiled mockingly as he looked at the ten people and said. "I'm just testing the village people whether they qualify for the special special branch to be started. But from the looks of it, they don't seem too special. They might as well back off, lest they embarrass themselves."

The Count frowned in displeasure and the candidates did not seem to be in a good mood after they heard that.

"The last time I checked it seemed like it was my job. The marquis himself assigned me this job. Now, why are you meddling in this?" The count asked in a colder tone.

Just before Zeke was about to reply, a voice came from the door.

"Because he did not get a place in the special branch of the Marquis city quota and he is here to snatch a place from our city. Don't you? Zeecet."

Sam looked at the familiar woman who entered the room. It was none other than Maya.

Zeke's face immediately turned ugly and the rest of the group also had the same expression.

"Zeke, I wonder how your father feels after what you did? First, you are not competent enough to reach the quota and now you are conspiring with your herd against people who have lower cultivation than you. He'll be very disappointed, won't he?" Maya sat down at the end of the table and spoke.

"Mayan art, what are you doing here?" Zeke asked in a cold tone. His sense of superiority was completely gone. Sam looked at her and smiled mockingly.

But his eyes were cold and shining with a cruel light. The Count and Maya also notice this and for some unknown reason they feel that Zeke will remember this day and regret it for the rest of his life.

"Well, this is my birthplace. It's not strange for me to be here. But, the Marquis' esteemed eldest son is here with his minions, it's a bit strange isn't it?" He replied with a sarcastic and mocking tone.

The other people who followed Zeke all had ugly expressions as Maya observed her gaze towards them. Zeke did not know what to say and finally gave up on explaining and stood up. He wanted to get out of that place immediately.

Falcon Count. Thank you for your hospitality, but I have to go now." He didn't even have time to think of excuses as he stood up and walked towards the door. But before he opened the door, someone called out from behind.

"Wait." Zeke turned around and looked at Drew who was standing up and started walking towards the group. He came face to face with Zeke and asked.

"Leave your name before you leave. It will make it easier for me when I visit the Marquis city."

Drew's gaze was sharp and calm as he said this. He's really upset. Today he was already vexed about the fact that Jack was a better swordsman than him and now a group of people appeared randomly and defeated him by gnawing at him. He was really upset and if he did not take revenge, he might as well stop cultivating.

"Maha.." The room was filled with laughter. Zeke and his henchmen laughed uncontrollably. Said Zeke.

"You can come and find me. The rest will be with me. If you can accept me, they won't be a problem." Then he left without turning around. Drew was even more frustrated. As they left, Maya stood up and said.

"You don't mind this. One day you will surpass him and you can defeat him at that time. The marquis is a reasonable man and he will not make a fuss if you defeat him fairly.

Even though he was trying to make them feel better, it didn't help much. Maya sighed and looked at Sam and she felt a little surprised.

Sam's expression was somewhat threatening now and the other candidates were too busy with themselves to notice it, but the Count realized it.

Sam's eyes shone with a cruel light. He's like a predator out of blood. His expression even made them creep.

Jack and Philip turned towards Sam to see what he thought of this, when they saw his expression unconsciously they gulped.

"What's wrong with her?" At this moment Kelly also noticed this and asked Philip who was nearby. Now, everyone looked towards Sam. Even the strange trio concentrated on him.

Jack shook his head and said. "You have to kill the injured animal or ignore it. But if you play it or make fun of it while it's down, otherwise, the recovery will be your biggest regret."

They were all confused but Hawk, Philip, and the strange trio understood faintly and they only had one thought in their minds. 'The beast has locked up its prey.'

But the person who was the center of attention did not notice them or rather did not notice them and walked back to his mansion.
