Sam enters the carriage and drops the partition, which happens to be a bed that has hinges underneath and stands upright. Behind the partition was another large bed that was enough for at least four people. Sam offers the women a bed and she sleeps in a partition bed. Philip, Jack, Shawn sleep on extra mattresses and sleep on the floor. Another girl who was not familiar with them also took an extra mattress and slept some distance away and the rest of the people were left alone outside. Sam didn't even bother asking them what their plan was to sleep on and he just lay down on his bed and fell asleep as he looked at the scene through the window.
The next morning, everyone woke up early and began their journey. If they travel faster, they can reach the city at night. The trip was smooth because there was no accident. Sam was only speechless as he thought about what to do in the Falcon cliff city and about Yanwu's message. He wanted to see how Yanwu was doing.
With their own thoughts, the group arrived at the City before it was dark. They stopped at the city gate and the ruler of Starwood City went to the guards and took out a letter to show them. After the guards checked the letter, they looked at the luxurious carriage and felt quite surprised. Obviously, these people were not the only cities that came here, but they did not see anyone carrying such a luxurious carriage with a level 2 ferocious beast as a carriage horse. They let out a breath and let them in.
Sam looked at the city through the window and felt quite surprised. The living conditions of this Falcon cliff city were much better than Starwood city. He estimated that the city was about four times larger than Starwood city. The Headmaster led the way towards a road filled with inns and some of them were booked for tournament contestants. As they entered the designated inn and showed the necessary documents, the attendant guided them to their respective rooms. But when they looked at those rooms, they could not help but shake their heads. The rooms were narrow and not even a third as big as Sam's carriage and except for the Headmaster and City Lord, everyone had to share the room with others.
Sam looked at the Headmaster with a questioning look. The headmaster excused himself and went to look for the manager and came back after a while with a grim face and a box with him.
"The manager said that the lodging has been fully allocated and we only have these rooms and the authorities responsible for this also agreed to it. This, this is the sign you must have during your stay here." He said and opened the box and gave the token. There are 10 tokens with numbers from 1 to 10 and two tokens that have the word 'supervisor' and five tokens with 'extra' on it. There's Starwood city written on all the tokens. The principal distributes tokens to all students and distributes 'additional' tokens to students who are not part of the team. Meanwhile, he and the City lord took out the supervisory token. Each student takes their respective tokens which can be stored in their belts. Eisen, looked very proud as he looked at his token with a '1' on it. He gave Sam.
Sam looked at the token and tried to store it in a normal storage ring but could not. Then he hung the badge inside the coat and then started walking out.
"Where are you going?" The headmaster asked as soon as he noticed it.
"Just look around." He said and without even turning around walked towards the entrance. On the way, he noticed another person who seemed to be from another city and when he saw the room through the open door, he felt quite surprised by the difference. The students have separate rooms for each and the rooms are neat and spacious. He went to the reception and asked.
"May I know, how many inns are booked for the contestants?" The receptionist looked at him with a strange look and said.
"Three lodging have been booked. The one on the right and the one on the left." Sam thanked him and went to look out into the street. The street has inns on both sides and each inn may have around twenty to twenty-five rooms. He walked towards the inn that was not taken by the students and asked the receptionist.
"Is there room left?"
The receptionist measured it a bit and asked. "Are you a student from another city here for the tournament?" Sam nodded his head.
“Then, we can't give you a room. There was an order from Mr. Arlo that rooms could not be given to candidates or supervisors from other cities. If we're caught doing it, we'll get our lodging covered." Sam raised an eyebrow hearing that answer.
"Why?" Ask a little curious. But the receptionist doesn't know either.
Sam went out and walked towards the allocated inn. This time everyone from Starwood city came to the dining room to eat. Sam went to them and ate. But when they entered the dining room, they were detained outside and were not allowed to enter for a while because they said that the dining room was already full. They waited for a while until the others came out of the dining room and when they came in and sat down, they were only served with porridge. They all frowned and asked the servant who replied.
"The food is gone and there are no ingredients left. I hope for your understanding." Although with their cultivation level, they were able to survive without eating anything for a while, they still felt angered by the treatment. Sam looked at the Headmaster and ruler of Starwood City and asked.
"Do you know who Arlo is?" The Headmaster felt puzzled and shook his head, while the City Lord's expression changed and his brows were sad. Sam understood and said nothing and just walked out. When Philip and the others were about to follow him, he stopped them and said that he would be coming soon. He goes to the carriage and saves everything along with the bulls and Panthers into the divine dimension when no one is near and walks back to the dining room and looks at Philip and his friendshis friend.
"I don't want to stay here. What about you guys?" He asked them without looking at the two middle-aged men. Philip, Jack, Shawn, Freya, Haley, Kelly shaking their heads. He looked at the City Lord and said.
"How many days is the competition?"
"A week from now at the Falcon Cliff academy." He replied in a low voice.
"We're going. We'll meet you on the day of the competition. Every day one of us will come here and you can deliver any message if any." Sam said and turned to leave.
"Where do you think you're going?" Eisen asked even in front of the two supervisors. Sam did not care and this time the Headmaster asked.
"Sam, where are you going to live? How about we go to another inn?"
Sam shook his head and said what happened when he went looking for a room. He looked at the City Lord and said. "You can clean up your own mess. I don't want to bear the consequences of whatever you've done." He then turned around again and just as he was about to leave, Eisen shouted.
"You're not allowed to leave. I don't agree." Sam stopped and looked at him with a cold and sharp look. Seeing that, Eisen continued. "Where do you think you can stay now? You said that they didn't give us a room." Sam grinned at his words and said.
"Who said I was going to the inn? I'm going to my own house."
"How can you have a home here?" a subordinate of Eisen asked him.
"Nothing for now, but it will be there in a while." This time he did not stop and left with his group without even looking back. The headmaster shook his head and led the rest into their room. Now that seven people were gone, there was more space and some of them got single rooms to sleep in.
Sam and his group walk the streets watching the bustling city that is many times more vibrant than Starwood city. They roam the streets and in random restaurants before finding their way to the store. This place is Pawnshop. Sam asks on the streets to find out where he can buy a house and most people just say one thing. "No matter you want to buy, you can find it in the Vickers Store". He finally arrived after knowing the directions. The shop is so big. It was almost the size of his riverside mansion.
Sam and his group walked inside the store and were shocked as soon as they entered. There's a myriad of things. Weapons, articrafts, animal remains, carrion, special treasures. Almost all kinds of things are in the store.
They slowly walked towards the counter and just as they were about to wake him up. He immediately got up and looked around. His eyes brightened as soon as he saw Sam and his group.
"Welcome to the Vickers store. Is there anything I can help you with? Whatever you want, if it is available near the location of the Falcon Cliff City, you can buy it. We not only accept money, but also trade with possessions." He then looked at Sam and measured it. His eyes narrowed and a mischievous smile appeared on his face.
"I need a house." Sam said in an emotionless voice and a cold voice.
"Oh, you came to the right person. What kind of place do you want?"
"Quiet, Peaceful, and Broad. No problem even though it's in a quiet location."
"Aha, I have the perfect place for you. Please follow me." He said and got off the counter. He led the group to the outskirts of the city. The place had no houses nearby and there was a large courtyard with a lake. The house is large and there are several rooms. But the color seems a bit faded, indicating that someone has lived here for a long time.
"Do you have any other place?" Sam asked Vickers.
"Hahaha, it's actually the only place available right now." Sam raised an eyebrow at his reply and said.
"All right then. I'll take it. How many?"
"How much are you willing to pay?"
"35,000 spirit stones."
"Agreed." As soon as Sam made the offer, he agreed. Sam was a little surprised at this action but he did not say anything. He took out a spirit stone and made the payment.
"You have to come to the store, for the deed." Vickers said with a smile.
"OKAY. I'll go with you." Sam answered and said to his friends. "You go inside and choose your room. Leave me a room with a study." He then walked with Vickers.
When they arrived at the store, Vickers walked into the room while Sam sat near the counter. After a while, Vickers came out with the reels and the transaction was completed. Sam looked at the deed and nodded but did not leave. He seemed to think and finally asked.
"You said I could buy anything as long as it could be obtained near the cliff town of the Falcon, right?"
"of course. Anything." anything." Vickers replied in a mischievous tone. Sam just looked into his eyes without answering. Something about this man made her feel uncomfortable. But he felt no danger. His anxiety was because, he could not see it at all. His strength, his level, his age, everything seemed to be a mystery.
"I want information." Sam said after a moment of silence.
"certain. What information do you want?"
"About underground organizations in the city. I need names, powers, and the kind of business they handle?"
"Deal can be done Sam. But the info is one of the most expensive things you can buy" Vickers said.
"How much?"
"5000 spirit stones."
Sam said nothing and simply put the stones on the table. Seeing this Vickers just smiled and said. "The photo will be delivered to your doorstep tomorrow. Do you need another one?"
"Dark element spirit stone." Sam said in a low voice.
"Oh, that was unexpected. I thought you might ask for the attributes of fire and light." Vickers said with the same smile but Sam's expression changed as he looked at the man warily.
"Don't worry Sam. We will never harm our customers. This is our business motto" Vickers said. Sam did not say anything and simply placed a large bag of stones on the table. There were about 100,000 spirit stones inside.
"How much is the exchange rate?"
"Hehe, in the falcon cliff town, dark element stones are very rare and the exchange rate is around 1:7, but since you made such a big exchange, I will give you a discount and receive 1:5." Sam did not refuse and accepted the twenty thousand dark element stones and left.
Sam reached the mansion and looked into the room. Surprisingly, the main hall was left for him and was completely cleaned without a speck of dust. He opened the window and lay on the bed. He looked up at the night sky while thinking about Vickers. After all, this was the first person who could show his element in just one glance.
