THE REBIRTH OF A GENIUS. CREATOR/DESTROYER
Chapter 29. The Third Round Begins

Sam took a nap for an hour and woke up. He saw that everyone was gathered together while a few people stood facing them. Sam looked at them and recognized them as some of the elders of the Starwood academy. Sam slowly moved towards the group while they were still settling down. After a while, the presiding elder spoke.

"As you all heard from the previous announcement, this time the assessment is to compete with your seniors in school. The seniors will be at the maximum cultivation level of the late stage Acolyte. The goal of this battle is to take the other team's gold scopes at their base on the other side and combine it with your silver ball. Or you can eliminate everyone else from their team to win outright. This time you can use a rank 2 weapon, but the written weapons are still prohibited from carrying from outside. Everything in the testing ground is yours to use. The test will continue until the day changes and by the time the deadline expires and no team completes the goal, the team with the most people wins. I've told you, use your time wisely, if you are in danger, you can escape by breaking the token. As the previous announcement said, you will receive our help in critical moments, you will receive our help in critical moments, but we may be late.

I have never seen or heard of a freshman victory. The best result is that new students prove themselves by eliminating as many seniors as possible. All the best."

The elder finished and the elders beside him began to distribute tokens. This time the token is silver. "Each candidate from the opposing team is worth one point. And the one with the most points will be ranked higher. That will be the individual ranking of the round. There will be an overall rating that will be assessed later. There will be a reward for each rank." The elder continued after the token division. Then the screen and platform appear. There was a silver ball on the platform and all the candidates names could be seen on the screen. When everyone saw the name of the first ranker, they looked towards Sam, as they wanted to carve his name and face inside their minds.

"The third round of assessment begins." The elder said and left with the other elders.

After the elders left, everyone looked at each other as they were at a loss on how to proceed further. Sam simply shook his head and went to the back side of the crowd and sat down while leaning against the wall.

"We must choose a leader." Someone said from the group.

"I agree. But the question is who should be the leader?" Once he was done, everyone looked at Sam subconsciously and then immediately rejected the idea. Then they look at the ranking list and think, who should be the leader. Then suddenly Harry walked forward and faced the crowd as he said. "I am Harry of the city lord's house, the lord of the city of Starwood is my father. So, I want to take the position of leader."

When everyone heard this, they exchanged looks for a moment and agreed. Even the nobles did not mind, there were not many nobles left to begin with. Only the people from the Evergreen family and the people from the city lord mansion were left and the two of them did not mind.

When everyone showed their agreement, Harry felt satisfied with himself and looked at Sam proudly as if he had defeated him. But Sam doesn't pay much attention to everything, let alone Harry.

Harry began giving instructions, to the people.

"Everything, start separating yourself into groups based on the type of elements you have. Warrior magicians would form two major power groups. One to keep the silver ball and one to get the other ball. The wood element and wind element magicians along with the warrior team will act as scouts. Earth witches would be divided into two groups to provide two lines of defense. Water magicians are responsible for supporting all groups, with attack and defense. The fire element also merged with the main attack force and left three people here, in the cave. Archers and other wind elements along with metal element mages will ambush in this place......."

Harry did take a good commanding position as he instructed everyone as he showed them directions through the map given by the elders. The map is the layout of the current battlefield. After Harry finished with the basic instructions, everyone began to prepare for departure. When the spot near the map was a bit empty, Sam walked over to the map and started looking at it.

"Wait, what about her?" Someone asked while pointing at Sam. This person was none other than the girl who challenged Sam. The one who asked about the formation. Sam looked at her with a surprised expression. He didn't expect him from everyone to be mentioning him at this moment.

But Sam didn't say anything, he just stared at the map, as if he didn't care at all.

"What about him?" Harry asked from the side. Many people are also starting to get curious. They forget Sam when they're busy listening to Harry's instructions.

"You know that he beat everyone here with one hand right?" The girl said to Harry as if waiting for him to explain.

"He's not fit for the team. We can do better if he's not involved." Harry said, turning his eyes. He really didn't want Sam involved in this operation because he didn't want Sam to get the credit. So, he used the power he had as a leader to oppress him. He waited for Sam to reject him, but the one who rejected him was someone else. None other than Shawn.

"Are you kidding me, Harry? You're going to get him out of the team, just because you were defeated?" Shawn did not hold back at all, as he revealed Harry's true intentions. Shawn looked at Harry with disdain.

"He defeated almost all fifty of us in one strike and you say that he is no match for this battle." Shawn said again before Harry could answer. Harry only snorted in response.

Then Sam suddenly turned around and walked towards the entrance of the cave as if the topic had nothing to do with him. Just as he was about to leave the cave. Someone shouted.

"Wait." Sam stopped his footsteps as he turned around and looked at the girl who had been walking towards him. He stopped in front of her and spoke.

"I'm Melissa. How about we work together for this round?" He asked Sam in a polite tone. Sam looked at her as he checked from top to bottom. Although she was not as beautiful as the three goddesses she was still a rare beauty, she tied her long hair into a ponytail as she wore battle clothes. Sam checked it out when he asked. "Why?"

"I think your skills are more helpful in this battle." He said without hesitation. But Sam's answer surprised him. "No, no. All I'm asking is, why should I cooperate with you?" Sam's question not only confused him but all the other candidates as well.

When he saw that he was not answering, Sam was about to leave. Then he stopped her and said. "I am the daughter of the head of the formation tower. Although I am not a rank formation master, I can assist you in laying down the formation."

Sam looked at her and said. "You can come with me. But you have to follow my instructions." Sam said as if he would not accept no in response.

Melisa nodded and the two of them started walking. But they were stopped again by someone else. This is none other than Shawn. Jack stood beside him. Sam looked at Shawn with a questioning look that was filled with displeasure. His face said that, if Shawn did not give a proper explanation, he would beat him up.

"Well, that's how. We don't like this Harry guy, so can we follow you. You don't have to worry. I'm a genius, and my friend here isn't bad either. We're not gonna drag you down. We'll follow all your orders." Shawn said with a big smile. Sam shook his head and said. "Custom yourself." Then the four of them left. Mathew hesitated, whether you should follow them or not, but he decided not to.

Harry gritted his teeth in anger as he watched the four of them leave. He felt like he had lost a lot of face, as they refused to follow his orders. "There are only four people, we don't have to care about them." Harry said to the other freshmen and once again began giving them assignments.

Meanwhile in a cave similar to the newly entered cave, the seniors were discussing his plan. The one in the middle was Philip as he instructed everyone. Although Philip was one of the people with a lower cultivation level at level 5 Acolyte. He was known for his strategy and all the seniors gave him orders. He concluded arranging the task and then said.

"If you find someone wearing black clothes and not having armor and holding a bow or stick. Don't get involved unless there are three people in the group and you all have to be at least a mid-level Acolyte. If not, turn your tail and run to meet other teammates, leave whatever tasks you do and let others know." Philip said in a serious tone.

All the seniors felt a little confused and someone asked. "Philip, who is this person, so you gave him such a high evaluation? What is his cultivation level?"

"Well, we can be considered friends. As for his cultivation level, he should be at Level 3 Acolyte." Philip said with a smile.

"Hmph, just trash at Level 3 Acolyte. She's mine. Everyone, if you meet him, catch him and I'll trade him for 1000 spirit stones." Carl said from the side as he left with his troops. Philip simply shook his head and said.

"Friends, I'm not trying to exaggerate here. He killed the 'Blazing Earth Bull' who was at the initial stage of Level 2 in one hit when he had only reached the initiation stage of level 9. You can understand how great his combat power is. . As far as I know, she is a warrior witch now and attributes fire. I don't know his full strength, but he has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. If he just wanted to escape and survive to the end, with his speed, no one could stop him." Philip said in a serious tone. Then he let everyone disperse and only Philip, Marvin, Paul, Freya, and Haley were in the cave looking at the map.

"Haley, who do you think is the new student team commander?" Philip asked.

"I think Harry will take responsibility." Haley said with certainty.

"Then you think about Sam's position on the team." He asked again,

"According to my understanding of her character, she's not going to give Sam any position that will help her get more praise" Haley said.

"If he gets in Sam's way at least half the time, it'll benefit us. If he can't even use a good trump card like Sam properly, then he's really stupid." Philip said while shaking his head.

"If Sam's moves were restricted and dragged by the team, we would win without much difficulty" Marvin said. The rest nodded as well.

But they don't know that Sam is really loose and he doesn't have to follow orders at all. He was now on the river that divided the territory between freshmen and seniors.

Sam looked at the stone path which was the only safe way to cross the river. He watched her as he looked over from the riverbank. Melisa, Shawn, and Jack were standing behind her as they just stared at her making strange observations.

"Do you know what this place is?" Sam asked them when he faced them.

"This is the dividing line of territory. Harry said that there was only one bridge to safely cross the river and the river was filled with dangerous beasts bound by water" Melisa said. Sam nodded and continued.

"Right now, the scouts of the two teams are walking here slowly so they won't leave any traces, but we don't have to do that because, we don't use this to cross the river, we don't use this to cross the river, rather, we used this to trap them." Sam said and turned towards the bridge.

"Shawn, can you destroy the way?" Sam asked indifferently.

The three of them furrowed their brows upon hearing Sam's words. Looking at his expression, he did not seem to be joking.

"Sam. Isn't that a little risky." Melissa asked slowly.

"You, there's no need to worry about that. I have another way to cross the bridge. Judging by its speed. The main force would not approach the bridge until late in the morning and even the scouts took several hours. Now, both teams will use the darkness as cover to place a trap. So, don't worry. I have my plan. Shawn made it as smooth as possible without much noise." Sam instructed.

Shawn could do nothing and used his earth element control to submerge the stone path completely.

Sam then pulled out some blood hyena corpses and dropped them on the river where the road used to be.

Soon a large number of crocodile-type beasts gathered near the meat. These are 'River Crocodiles' and water-type beasts. Right now, all the ferocious beasts were at the middle stage of level 2, when they saw 10 something coming from the river crocodile, they slowly retreated. Only Sam remained there as he looked at the River crocodile which was slowly heading inland. Suddenly Sam released a strange aura that everyone could not understand, but they saw all the River crocodiles stopped in their tracks and kowtowed in front of Sam as if saluting.

Sam unleashed his Golden Crow bloodline power. Before the three could understand what was happening, Sam gave a few orders that left them dumbfounded.

“Deliver my orders to all your relatives. No one goes through the river easily.Anyone who dares to cross the river from this area must be stopped by you. You can only let them cross, if your life is in danger. Otherwise, don't let them cross over at all. A mile on either side is your job to keep, understand?" Sam commanded the river crocodile just as he ruled his own subordinates. But the more surprising thing was that all the River crocodiles nodded their heads vigorously. Sam then took out all the bodies of the blood hyenas and gave them to the river crocodile.

"This is your compensation for keeping the river. If you have a life-threatening danger, you can stop the task. You don't have to defend your life. Now let's cross the river." Sam said and as soon as he did, the largest river crocodile walked forward and entered the river. Sam and the others stepped on his back. Then the river crocodile swam across the river and left them on the other bank.

Even after the beast left, Melisa and the others were still in a daze as they were unable to understand the situation.
