THE REBIRTH OF A GENIUS. CREATOR/DESTROYER

THE REBIRTH OF A GENIUS. CREATOR/DESTROYER
Chapter 49. Falcon Cliffs City

Sam got up early and went downstairs. He looked at the six people at the dinner table eating a regular breakfast. He joined them at the table and chatted with them randomly. He asked suddenly in conversation.

"Who cleaned my room yesterday?" Everyone fell silent and looked at each other in confusion. Sam scanned their faces and saw the real confusion. When she saw Kelly, she understood immediately. He looked down, not daring to make eye contact with her and blushed red. He just shook his head and did not call out to her. He had just switched the subject and after a while there was a knock on the door. Kelly volunteered to escape the situation and when she opened the door, she just stood there in confusion.

Sam noticed this and walked over to it. He looked at the many scrolls in front of the door and picked them up. He looked at the notes between them and smirked.

"Indeed. Literally, information is in the doorway." Sam muttered and turned towards Kelly and said.

"This is for me. I'll take it." Kelly nodded and turned to leave. Then he suddenly stopped when Sam said.

"Thank you for the room." He blushed loudly and ran away without saying anything. Sam walks up the stairs and calls Jack with him to his study.

When there were only two of them in the study, he put the scroll on the table and said.

"This is info about the underworld organizations in the city. Look and let me know if there's anything similar to Black Water." Jack nodded and the two took out their respective scrolls.

There were about six reels in total. And each roll contains details about each gang. After looking through the scrolls, Sam understood roughly the structure of the underworld in the cliff town of Falcon.

There are six organizations in total. Four small organizations and two large organizations. The four organizations are North, West, East, South gangs that only charge protection fees and some other small things. Every business should provide them with a protection fee for their business to run peacefully and they will do random odd jobs to intimidate, send alerts, and beat people up. These organizations were just like the normal triads on modern earth.

The two remaining organizations are the real deal. They are another level. They just didn't do odd jobs, but they were some organization that even the city guards didn't want to mess with.

The first organization was called Piranha. This organization was only a Mercenary guild. They could attack anyone in the city and cities under the jurisdiction of the Falcon Cliff city. Not only would they commit murder, they would also do kidnapping, arson work etc. They would accept mercenary duties that could not be done openly.

The other organization is called Candiru. This organization is even darker than Piranha. They are responsible for all prostitution in the city. Every brothel in the City was run by them. Not only that, they are responsible for the illegal slave trade. Every rich person and noble family had a relationship with this organization. Sam could not help but frown at the actions of this organization.

The strength of the organization is also very high. Small organizations have few startups as core members and leaders are at the intermediate entry level. The big organizations have a lot of beginners and their leaders are at the Peak Beginners stage. The same level as the Headmaster and the City lord. Sam was a little confused by this info. Since the peak of the Starter stage was only in charge of a small town, but they could even become a big person in the cliff town of the Falcon. He really did not understand this situation.

He threw the thought into his mind and looked at Jack and said.

"There really was no direct clue connecting them to the Black Water. But we can't be so sure. I think we should gather more information."

Jack nodded and asked. "Where did you get this intel?"

"I bought it."

"You bought? Over where? How's it?" Jack was surprised. He never thought that this kind of intel could be bought so easily.

"Vickers." Sam's answer surprised him even more. He never thought that the Vickers store would sell intel.

"Can we buy more from him?" ask Jack. After the initial shock, there was some excitement that they had a chance to get intel easily.

"We can do that. But I don't want to." Sam answered slowly.

"Why?"

"He won't have a problem with getting intel. But he gave me a strange feeling that discouraged me from working with him. I don't know what it is, but the feeling isn't very good." Sam said while looking at the scroll.

Jack was silent for a moment and asked.

"Then what's our plan?"

"I have something to do this week. You guys keep in touch with the Headmaster and the City lord. I will go out for a while, send someone to the inn and give the address of the Mansion to the Headmaster. He'll have a way to contact us, if there's anything urgent." Sam said and walked out of the room as Jack followed.

Sam wanted to go out and look around the city. Just as he was about to step out the door, a sweet voice came from behind.

"Sam." Kelly stood there as she looked down and said in a low voice. Sam turned around and looked at the beautiful girl in a black dress that was in stark contrast to her smooth white skin. Her red lips, her voluptuous figure and her beautiful face could make a disaster happen to a man. But Sam was only in a daze for a moment and asked.

"Yes, Miss Kelly."

"Are you going into town?" Kelly asked in the same sweet and slow voice. Sam just nodded.

"Do you want to visit Artisan Tower today? My father asked me to take you there." He asked while trying to avoid looking at Sam's handsome face and his sharp eyes. Sam thought for a moment and nodded. The two walked side by side as they entered the city. The mansion they were staying in was on the eastern side of the city and the inn the Principal was staying in was also in the same area. The artisan tower is in the western part of the city.

They walked slowly, looking around the bustling city. Falcon Cliff City is near the foot of the cliff which is the wind region of Falcons Whirlpool which is in the north direction of the city. There is a patch of forest that separates the Cliffs and the city.

Sam and Kelly walk down the street and they attract attention on their way to the craftsman tower. After all, beauty and good looks walking along with black clothes were not commonplace, but they did not cause much commotion.

Sam watched the streets and saw if he could get any info on the gangs. In the info provided by Vickers, it is mentioned that the four small gangs have their respective headquarters in their own territory. But the headquarters of the two large organizations were in the northern region where the big people of the city usually lived.

The northern region was where, the Count's residence, the cliff academy of the Falcon, the City's official residence, the noble family lived. The business is very luxurious and the best in town. The northern gang only took the cost of protection from small-scale businesses in the region but they were still much better than other regions.

The cliff town of the falcon has four exits. South gate, east gate, west gate, northwest gate. The remaining direction is covered by a forest or a dead end. Sam walked slowly while observing the layout of the city. They walked for an hour, when they finally arrived at the Artisan tower.

"Sam, you wait here. I'll ask about his promise." Sam nodded and sat in the waiting room while Kelly walked over to the receptionist to ask.

After a while he came to where Sam was sitting and just as he was about to speak, someone called out to him.

"Kelly?" Sam and Kelly looked in the direction where the voice was coming from and saw someone standing there. He was a young man wearing an Artisan tower uniform and he had a rank 2 weapon craftsman badge on his chest. He seemed to be in his late twenties and his cultivation was a late stage novice. The young man walked towards them and immediately ignored Sam and stood in front of Kelly.

"Hello, Blyke." Kelly greeted him with a cold, sweet and gentle voice earlier that he had when he spoke to Sam was nothing at all.

The man named Blyke did not seem to be offended and spoke. "I heard from your uncle that you managed to break through the beginner stage and also become a rank 1 artisan. Congratulations."

"Thank you." Kelly answered briefly and broke off the conversation. Then he turned towards Sam and said.

"Sam, the receptionist told the head of the tower about our visit. We can go there now." His voice became soft again. Blyke soon learned the difference and became unhappy, but did not show it on his face.

"Kelly, who is he?" He asked while pointing at Sam.

Sam didn't mind and just walked up the stairs and stood there staring at Kelly.

"Kelly, if Acolyte needs a weapon, I can take the job. Why bother a master with such trivial matters." Blyke spoke and then turned towards Sam and said.

"Hey sir. I can take your job. Even if you can meet my master because of Kelly, you can't possibly pay for his services, so don't waste time." He said as he walked towards Sam.

Sam did not reply and completely ignored him and looked at Kelly. "What if we go? I still have a lot to pay attention to."

Kelly nodded and walked up the stairs to the road. When Blyke saw the two of them ignoring him, he felt humiliated when he saw the people around him staring at him in a strange way. He immediately followed both.

After a while they reached the top floor of the tower and walked into a room. There Sam sees a middle-aged man whose face resembles that of Kelly's father reading a scroll. He turned his attention to the three people who had just entered. Blyke walked towards the middle-aged man and bowed to him as he greeted.

"Greetings sir." He said and stood behind the middle-aged man with a proud expression on his face.

"Greetings uncle." Kelly also greeted him as she smiled at him and gestured for him to sit opposite her.

He sat there and introduced. "Uncle, it's Sam." The middle-aged man nodded at Sam who was then replied in the same way and sat down beside Kelly.

Blyke became displeased and furrowed his brows when he saw Sam not bowing to his master.

"It's nice to meet you Sam. I'm Howard, head of the Artisan tower cliffs of the Falcon." He said with a smile. Sam saw the Artisan badge on his chest. There was a golden color badge with a hammer and fire symbol with five gold stars under the number.

"It's nice to meet you too." Sam replied in a cold tone. Blyke became annoyed at the blatant disrespect.

"Master, if you don't mind, I'll take this guy's job. After all, the Acolyte weapon does not require an honorable rank 3 Artisan like you have to make." Blyke said in an arrogant tone.

"May I know, why did you call me here?" Sam asks ignoring Blyke completely, which makes Blyke angry.

"I just want to know what a genius like you looks like." Howard asked before giving Blyke a chance to flare up.

"Then my job is done, I guess." Sam said and stood up, showing that he wanted to leave. He really didn't like the place or the people. Kelly also becomes confused when she sees the unhappy Sam. After all, taking permission just to show his face was not a valid reason at all.

"Don't be in a hurry, Sam. I have something to ask you." Howard said with a smile but only got a cold look in return. He then continued. "Do you want to join the Artisan tower as a staff?" He asked directly, without hesitation.

"Not interested." Sam answered directly, which disappointed Howard a little.

"Sir, why are you talking to him so politely." Blyke interrupted the conversation and then he looked at Kelly. "Kelly, is this your friend's manners? Why did he not respect his master? Did he know the kind of status his master possessed? He's being asked is his honor."

Sam ran out of patience as he stared at Blyke. Howard also looked at his student and said.

"Enough, Blyke. Just a minute." He said and turned towards Sam again. He observed that the latter was staring at Blyke with an unhappy look.

"I have something to do. Please don't ask me to visit you, just to get compliments from your students. That's annoying." Sam said frankly making Howard awkward and Blyke angry.

Blyke was about to attack but was stopped by his Master.

Sam looked at Master and his disciple and walked out the door. Kelly immediately said goodbye to her uncle and followed him. After they left, Howard looked at his student and asked.

"Why are you after him? Do you know who that guy is?" Blyke did not answer and just looked down. Howard continued.

"That guy is of the same rank as me. Do you know that?" This time Blyke was shocked.

"How is it possible? He's even about ten years younger than me." Blyke asked in a surprised tone.

"He's ten years younger than you. He is a rank 2 pseudo Artisan and a rank 3 Artisan scholar. He has more reason to be proud than you and I don't see him boasting. This he asked directly that you would make a weapon for him. Are you even worthy to do that? Learn to be more humble." He said and left his disciple alone.
