THE REBIRTH OF A GENIUS. CREATOR/DESTROYER
Chapter 57. The Tower of Will

After the Headmaster ended his speech, he gestured for an elder to lead the group to the academy's exam site. All spectators followed them to the audience area provided at the testing site. After all of them left the bigshots on the spot guided by the academy attendants to a private booth to get a better view of the test.

The elder led the candidates and their supervisors from the six groups and made them take positions in front of the large tower. There is a large plaque written with the character 'WILL TOWER'. Sam looked at the tower that looked ancient and was amazed by its beautiful structure.

The tower was tall and probably the tallest of all the buildings in the city, but no one could not see it when they normally roamed the city whose credit was devoted to the setting of the testing grounds.

The elder turned towards the six groups of people and said. "'This "'Tower of Will' is a testing ground to find out how strong your will is and how strong your belief in yourself is. There are thirty levels in this tower and the higher you go up the higher the points you will earn. These points will be added to your cumulative score for the final evaluation of the tournament.

If you can't step forward once you reach a certain level, don't be stubborn and learn to step back, when you can. Otherwise, the consequences will be terrible and hinder your development in the future.

The best record for a tower is 27 levels and it was done by our current emperor when he came here to test his will especially in this tower.

I wish you the best." He finished his speech and gave the position to another officer in charge of sending candidates to the tower.

The servant came forward and said.

"The first participant is the town of Falcon Cliff." As soon as he said that all the participants from the Falcon Cliff city advanced forward. The officer pointed at one of them and gestured him to enter the tower. The first floor of the tower is illuminated a bit which confirms that the tower began testing candidates.

Immediately, the dimly lit first floor began to shine brightly in a white light. First floor is overrun. Now candidates will be moved to the second floor and which is also illuminated with a dim light. This time ten minutes passed and the second floor also passed. Candidates were transferred to the third floor. Seeing that the testing took time, the candidates and the audience started chatting. Sam observed all the candidates from various cities and some interesting info was heard from two people from Mountain Lake City who were one of the neighbors near Starwood city. He heard two people talking silently.

"Hey, do you know why the cultivation level of the City Lord and the Falcon Cliff City Chief is higher?"

"No, I'm curious too. Do you know anything about that?"

"Yes, I heard when our City Lord explained to his son just now."

"really? What reason?"

“His cup, Starwood city is like a seclusion zone for the nobles we are in. Officials from various departments and organizations, who offend their superiors at the early stages of their careers, will be moved to the city. This city really had no resources except for that Starwood forest and a few other common herbs. So, every great opportunity in the city from somewhere else, who had beef with the higher-ups and was moved there to step on their progress. The opportunities are smaller and the resources are scarce. They said that even the noble families in the city were branches of the great noble families who were exiled due to their internal strife, he said, that was why the other cities were controlled by one noble family and there were probably at most extra noble families deployed by large noble families.the name of the noble family to obtain resources, was very important, but the noble families in Starwood city were different.

The Principal added that, if it wasn't for them not having solid evidence against them to deal with directly and the organization couldn't have done so because of their reputation, they might have already been dealt with by their superiors.

So, long ago the upper echelons of various organizations reached a mutual consensus secretly, to send all those who offended them to this City."

When others heard this, he was shocked and Sam who heard it secretly got a bigger shock from the info. He would never have expected that there would be a city like this where the people who offended their bosses were moved. He had not expected that this would be the reason for the higher cultivation base of the City lords and School Heads. He thought that Starwood city might be rather impressive or something. But that reason made him almost laugh out loud. So, most of these people were people who were kicked by their bosses to the side of the road.

Sam looked at the Headmaster and City Lord who were staring at the tower with a serious expression.

"Hello Kelly." His thought process was interrupted by the deep and cheerful voice of someone. He turned his head only to see a young man from the Falcon Cliff team greet Kelly. Sam paid no heed to it and turned his attention to the tower when the candidate had just walked out.

"Prospective Logan of the Falcon Cliffs. Twelve levels passed and failed at the thirteenth level.12 Points." The officer announced the moment the candidate returned with a sad expression.

"Sam." A sweet voice came from beside her and she saw Kelly calling out to her. He turned towards her and saw the young man who spoke to her earlier standing beside her with a smile.

"It's Hawk. Count Falcon's son. He was my childhood friend." Kelly introduced her and Sam was a little surprised. This time he observed the young man closely and did find some similarities in facial features between him and the Count.

Hawk stretched out his hand and said. "It's nice to meet you, Sam." His tone was polite, unlike some random young masters he had met.

"It's nice to meet you too." Sam also said in the same polite tone. Although there were no signs of a friendly smile on his face like Hawk, his face did not show his usual cold demeanor and temperament or any signs of displeasure as well.

"I heard a lot about you from Howard recently and Kelly also said that you are quite unique. That's why I became curious and came here to meet you." Hawk said with the same smile. Sam did not feel disgusted by his smile.

"You mean Howard, Uncle Kelly?" ask Sam. He did not remember another man named Howard whom he had met recently. But there were still doubts as he did not see any reason for the head of the Artisan tower to say something about him to the Count's son.

"Yes. Howard and my dad are friends. Kelly used to live here when he was a kid. That's how we're friends. Recently, when Howard came to see my father, you were one of the main topics they talked about." Hawk explained.

"Yash Candidate. Twenty floors. Failed on the twenty-first floor. Twenty points."

The announcement stopped their conversation and they looked at the candidate with curiosity. He was a young man with an oddity around him, wearing black clothes. He was seen alongside two other people who had the same aura as him in the Falcon Cliff city team.

"Your team seems to have some good competitors." Sam watched as he observed the three with a strange air. He felt something very familiar from them, but could not put his finger on it and went into deep contemplation. When he finally guessed, he was shocked. The strange feeling was the blood lust He saw the boys in their late teens, they were at the peak of Acolyte or the early stage Beginners, but the blood lust of them was not something that normal amateurs would have. They are used to killing and the body count should be high for their age.

Sam thought and stared at the three for a moment before turning his gaze to the other participants who had just finished his exam.

Time slowly passed and there were only three people left from the Falcon Cliff team. Hawk and the other two of the trio are freaks.

"Calon Yaar. Twenty-one floors. Failed on the twenty-second floor. Twenty-one points." After another forty minutes, one of the trio completed his test. Time pass.

"Candidate Yuv. Twenty floors. Failed on the twenty-first floor. Twenty points." Finally, Hawk's turn came.

"I'll see you later." Hawk said to Sam and Kelly and went inside the tower.

The first floor of the tower was dimly lit and in a few seconds brightly lit. Hawk completed the first trail faster than anyone. He proceeded to the second floor and in the same way, he finished it in a very short time. Sam looked at the tower with a funny smile. Hawk climbed the tower until he reached the tenth floor in no time. On the tenth floor, he took some time to graduate.

Though the time needed to complete the floor increased significantly. The completion time was much faster than anyone else who participated before. Within twenty minutes he reached the twenty-first floor. This surprised everyone at the venue. Although they felt surprised by the appearance of the trio who managed to reach twenty floors, the time they took was rather high compared to the Hawk.

As they were discussing in a whisper, the other floor lit up brightly and Hawk entered the twenty-second floor. Ten minutes passed; another floor lit up. Everyone became in an uproar and the crowd looked extremely excited. They want to see someone make a record of their city.

Count Falcon grinned widely in his chair.

"your son is really good." Castor said from the side.

"He still has a way to go, to be as good as me." Count Falcon said in a serious tone, but his grin clearly showed that he was proud of his son."

Then people shouted again as the other floor lit up. Hawk passed through the twenty-second floor and ascended to the twenty-third floor. To date, this is his best performance. They wait patiently but they are disappointed when the tower returns to normal and Hawk comes out with a bitter smile.

"Calon Hawk's. Twenty-two floors. Failed on the twenty-third floor. Twenty-two points." The crowd applauded the young man.

Although a little disappointed because of high expectations of Hawk, the competition must still run. And the candidate of the next group advanced.

Starwood City were the last on the list and they had to wait until every other candidate was finished with and within the group Sam was the last candidate. So, he stood there and waited patiently.

Although there were some significant results in the next candidate, none of them were outstanding. Only one person had achieved a twenty-point result from another city, before the turn of Starwood city came at sunset.

Kelly went in first to the tower while the others waited their turn. Kelly got 18 points which is not bad. His remaining teammates like Freya, Haley scored around 12 to 15 points. Just like the crowd giving up. Jack enters the tower and gives a big surprise to everyone.

His speed was comparable to that of Hawk and he didn't seem to stop at all. He cleared the floor after level 10 even faster than Hawk. Hawk stared at the tower with a surprised expression, but to his surprise there was a burning competitive spirit that excited him. When Jack arrived at the twenty-third floor where Hawk had failed, everyone fell silent.

Five minutes passed

Ten minutes passed

Twenty minutes passed. To everyone's surprise, the floor was lit up brightly. Just as they thought that Jack would rise to the twenty-fourth level. He pulled away.

"Prospective Jack. Twenty-three floors. Back off the twenty-fourth floor. Twenty-three points.

Jack's face did not look good, even after he returned. His face was pale and his eyes were empty. The test nearly destroyed it.

There are only two candidates left. Philip and Sam. Sam helps Jack sit down and gives him water as Philip enters the tower.
