Chapters 15. The Starwood City

It was already dark when the five of them returned to the village. The streets are quiet as usual. So, no one cared about the Blazing Earth Bull accompanying the five people and a crow. They go to Sam's house and they leave the Bulls in the backyard and the five of them enter the house. They had not even said a word all this time. 

After they all took a bath, Philip and his teammates sat in the living room. They don't even eat anything because they don't have an appetite. But at their cultivation level, they can survive by not eating for 2-3 days in a row. Suddenly Sam, appears into the living room from his bedroom, in his casual attire. When they saw Sam's sleeveless vest, they were all a little surprised as they were unable to find any type of wound on his arm at all. It seemed like the wound on the chest was the only wound right now, which was only tied with a gauge. Sam has a big leather bag on his hand. He walked into the room and just stared at them in silence for a while, Even Philip and his teammates did not know what to say either. After what seemed like an eternal silence, Sam finally spoke.

"Thank you for not hitting me when I fell." Sam said while bowing his head slightly. They all looked a little surprised from his humble attitude. Until now all they understood was that Sam was a cold, emotionless individual. 

But now they feel like they don't know him at all. Then Sam continued. "I don't like being with strangers often and can't make friends easily.That's why I keep my distance from you. But from now on we can be friends." Said Sam slowly. He means everything he says. Even though he clearly knew that he would be saved with Yanwu's help, Philip and he were definitely not aware of this. So, they were being honest and leaving the benefits of obtaining three magical beast corpses was not something anyone could do. 

Hearing what Sam said, Philip and his teammates let out a long sigh. Then Philip smiled and extended his hand to shake hands. Sam shook his hand and smiled as well. Then Sam said again. "I don't know how many corpses of beasts at that level, so accept this as my compensation." Sam said as he placed a large leather pouch on the table.

"You don't have to, you say that we are friends. We don't need such formalities at all." Philip refused with a smile. From the side Marvin also spoke.

"Yes, you don't have to do that."

"Please, I insist." Sam said and then turned around and went to his bedroom."

As soon as Sam left, Philip heard Paul sneering. "How much compensation can he give? "Good morning, you guys are early." He said with a smile. Seeing her smile they all felt stunned because the contrast in her character was too much for them to bear. They came out from their fainting and Marvin asked slowly. "Sam, why did you bring these bulls here?"

"Well, you have your own horses. So, I think I should get it so I don't drag you guys on our way today." Sam said with a flat face. Hearing this they all wanted to curse him badly. Using a Level 2 beast was not uncommon, but only their parents in the family had that privilege, either, but now a man whose cultivation level was lower than theirs had two of them and he even told them that he got it to catch up to their horses. 'Dangerous. Now our horse will be the one left behind. This ferocious beast was at least 6 times faster than an ordinary horse. Even if they had a lot of weight, they could still run 5 times faster. Normally Starwood city would take at least four days to reach it by horse. But from the looks of it, they could achieve their goal in one day with these Bulls. But the point is they all don't have it.

After about an hour, Sam and the others gathered outside as Sam carried a large bag on his shoulder while Yanwu was resting on the bag, looking around with curiosity from a new perspective. There was a carriage waiting for them that was full green and had a tree symbol in the middle of the carriage. It's the Evergreen family crest. There were two Blazing earth bulls attached to the carriage. Look at the big bag Sam was carrying, Philip said.

"Sam let this be stored in my spatial ring, it will save space inside the carriage." Sam nodded and Philip made the bag disappear. They all boarded the train while Marvin took over the reins to drive the train. Sam had previously let Yanwu order the Bull to hear every command of Marvin and the others. So, they stared at their journey. Sam wants to meet Michael before he leaves, but he's not home. So, he just left a note and left the city. After a while the train leaves the village through the only gate that connects the village to the city. As they left the village, a guard immediately rushed to the village chief's house and informed their departure to the village chief. The village chief smiled.

"Now the bastard Sam and the people from the City will all die from the attacks from the bandits. So, I don't have to care because it has nothing to do with our village." He said to himself after the servant who reported to him left. "Because of that twerp, I don't even have a second's rest from the past few days." As he spoke, he glanced at the villagers who were still protesting their taxes. He completely blames Sam and Philip for his troubles for revealing his plan. That was the reason why he wanted to kill them so badly.

Meanwhile, after Sam and the others left the village, they drove at high speed. In Philip's train, Sam, Haley and Paul sit while Marvin controls the train. While inside Philip was chatting with Paul and Haley remained silent. But Sam saw a piece of metal bone in his hand. These were the bones from the skeletal remains of the Golden Blood tiger, which he killed yesterday. He examined this bone closely. It has a metallic luster as it is only processed in the form of bones. As Sam examined the bones, Philip said from the side.

"Sam, this Golden Blood tiger bone is very useful for forging weapons. Even a rank-2 Artisan would find it difficult to melt bones completely. So, they usually used bones to directly forge weapons instead of using them for casting. Although a rank-3 Craftsman could melt these bones, these bones were no match for a rank-3 treasure. So, they're not gonna do it with this kind of bone."

Sam nodded his head and closed his eyes. Thinking about what Philip said, he began to think. Artisans are one of the most important professions in the world. Basically, there are two types of Craftsmen, one type is the Arms Craftsman, who is responsible for forging or throwing weapons, the other is the Craftsman, A rank one Weapon Craftsman should have two important qualities the first is that they should have the fire attribute of a Mage and the second is that they should at least have an Acolyte cultivation base. 

The craftsmen are highly respected in this world. Even the city lord of Starwood city had to treat a rank 2 craftsman the same as him. There is another type called the Scholar crafter. These craftsmen mainly design new things to improve lifestyle as well as solve various problems. They have no restrictions on their certification, but any design or weapon they design must meet the standards set by their predecessors. 

The Craftsmen Union is responsible for certifying these Craftsmen. The Guild of Artisan was an independent organization and was not under the jurisdiction of royal authorities. But they won't be recklessly creating trouble. After thinking about this for a while. Sam began to concentrate again on Bone. This bone was the one he broke when he caught the tiger off guard.

Just then Sam suddenly opened his eyes and also looked at the hutted Bone while panting. His mental energy was completely exhausted. He grinned when he realized his conjecture was right. He subconsciously looked at the spiritual stone in his other hand and a thought popped into his mind but he immediately refused, as he was afraid of the consequences. He looked at the other three and did not say anything and collected the bone powder into a small pouch and started meditating to recover. Philip stopped chatting and only looked at his pockets. After a few hours, Sam opened his eyes.

"How did you do it?" Philip immediately asked.

"Do what?" sam asked pretending not to know. Philip raised his voice and pointed to the pouch and asked again. "That." Sam just shook his head and remained silent. Seeing this Philip stopped asking. But he still felt uneasy inside. He knew how difficult it was to cut or melt the golden blood tiger bones, not to mention the powder. He also aspires to be an artist. He was currently trying to become a disciple of the Chief Artisan guild in Starwood city which was a second rank Artisan. The other side of Haley also seemed stunned by the achievements that Sam had done. But he's more stable than Philip. Just like they were in their own minds the train stopped. Marvin's scream came from outside.

"Attack" They immediately jumped out of the carriage and saw two people completely covered in black clothes and wearing masks standing up and talking to each other.

"They came early and they had a Level-2 Beast with them." A man in black said to the others. Sam also came from the carriage and saw two assailants, he went back inside the carriage, took off his black coat and placed it on top of the two sleeping cubs. They have not opened their eyes since birth. Sam came out again and looked at the two men in black clothes coldly. Both of them were at the seventh stage of Acolyte and looked at Sam and the others and threatened.

"Give it all to you and we'll let you live." A man in black said. Sam did not even speak to them and said coldly. "Get on"

As they climbed back up, Sam put on the coat again and put the two little puppies in his arms. They snuggled up to him and found a comfortable place to sleep. Although magical beasts would grow faster, it would still take time for them to grow from the infant stage. During the infant stage, the mother will feed her child with her spiritual energy until they can grow enough to feed themselves. 

At this moment Sam did the same and looked at his two children with a warm smile. Watching this scene Haley's heart skipped a beat. A smile on Sam's handsome face would make any girl's heart beat faster. The same thing happened to him when he saw such a smile. His extremely handsome face with perfect skin color and contrasting black clothes gave him a perfect look that made every boy envious of him and every girl adore him. At this gesture Philip chuckled and looked at Haley with a meaningful smile. Haley immediately rose from a daze and immediately hid her reddened face in embarrassment. Sam didn't even realize it because he was just looking at his kids.

The next day in the morning at sunrise, a green train belonging to the Evergreen family is seen on the border of Starwood city. Sam and the others travel through the night as Paul takes control of the train in the middle of the night. Now they could see the city gates from afar.

Soon Sam and the others arrived near the city gate. The guards watching the gate could clearly see the carriage with two level 2 ferocious beasts rushing towards them at full speed. They panic for a moment and look for their supervisor. By the time their supervisor arrived, the carriage reached the city gate and stopped there. The supervisor noticed the Evergreen emblem and heaved a sigh of relief. The nobles of the Evergreen family were the easiest people to deal with. So, he walked towards the carriage and when he saw Paul in control, he frowned and then he saw Philip and Haley coming down with Sam and Marvin. Philip walked up to the supervisor and asked.

"Officer, can you open the gate for me?" Philip asked.

"Young master Philip. I was a little surprised when the guards saw that there were two level 2 beasts used to drag the carriage. Now that I've seen it is you, I feel relieved." The supervisor smiled and said. Then he looked at Sam and said again. "Young Master Philip may I know who he is?"

"Well, he's my friend, he's not a city resident. So, you might not see it." Philip replied.

"Young Master Philip, you know the procedure correctly. He'll have to pay the entrance fee." The supervisor said while pointing at Sam. "And for this beast as well, you must pay."

"Well, how much is that? I'll pay." said Philip. Now only he remembers about this and looks a bit awkward. His supervisor had also only asked directly because it was Philip. Philip is known for his humility and hospitality. If it was another young noble. He would first let them pass and then send the bill to their maid.

Before Philip could pay, Sam interrupted. "I'll pay for it myself. May I know what my total entrance fee is along with this savage beast." Sam said while showing the two cubs of the panther and Yanwu at the same time along with the Bull. The supervisor was left in a daze for quite some time as he looked at the number of ferocious beasts at the same time. Looking at them, he gulped and said in a trembling voice. "May I know your cultivation?" Hearing this Sam did not say anything and simply released his aura. 'Only on the first stage acolyte and he has many pets of this magical beast.' He thought and said to Sam.

"If you want to stay permanently, you have to pay one spiritual stone for you and two for each bull, one for the bird and one for both cubs. So, a total of 8 spiritual stones."

"This" Sam immediately threw the two fire element spiritual stones towards the supervisor, who immediately caught them and stared at them in shock. Sam did not care about his expression and spread out his arms to ask for change. The supervisor came out of his daze and returned the four normal spiritual stones that Sam had stored in his pocket. Then Sam got a total of 5 tokens, which he kept in his pocket and rode the train with the others. Soon, they arrived at the Evergreen family home. Because, it was still early in the morning, only a few people noticed the carriage with two tier 2 beasts. After they get off the train, Haley and Marvin go to their respective homes. Only Paul, Philip, and Sam entered the Evergreen family home.
