Sam checked his health bar one last time before he left the place. His health was reduced by two bars and Sky's health by one bar. It's not because they're hurt.
It's just energy exhaustion.
Sam reappeared on the seat and once again entered the battle zone for his next move. This time, it was a pawn against the other Kartikeya Knights.
This knight was a woman and was mounted on top of an eagle-like beast.
Sam can't fly with an animal by himself, because he's a pawn, but he has a hoverboard and when the knight is complacent and tries to play around with Sam, he's, who had dodged several attacks, he suddenly took out a omen and enlarged it upwards. He did not attack her, instead, he took out a reaper and sliced the bird's stomach.
His sudden movements made the bird screech as it fell to the ground.
The knight this time was an archer and he was pretty good from above, but now that he fell to the ground before he could recover Sam had already sent a barrage of sharp wind blades from his sword so he had no other way but to avoid it. .
But this made the ferocious beast that was behind him and was already gone, most of its health receiving the full brunt of the attack.
Sam fought for a while, but was still defeated by the woman and before she died, she could reduce her health to seven.
Since the beast was also gone, the woman's health was reduced by half.
Sam returned and the game continued.
One by one chess pieces were removed. But the problem is for every pawn on Sam, one of Kartikeya's larger pieces has been revoked.
But not before one of Sam's knights, a bishop and a castle are gone.
After a few moves, Sam was left with three pawns, one fortress, one bishop, one knight, queen, and King.
As for Kartikeya, he only had one pawn, fortress, king, queen, and Bishop who was on the verge of death with half a health bar.
Sam was obviously in favour of the win, but he was not the least bit happy.
From start to finish, Kartikeya played very casually. It was almost as if he was a spectator.
This made Sam quite nervous. After all, he was playing with a commander of the gods. Many lower gods and even some higher gods had to follow his orders and he had to become a commander like what if he could lead such an army? Obviously, Sam wasn't arrogant enough to think that he was on the same level.
He never thought he was the best at governing. He may be good, but it's not one of his great art.
That was why he trained those soldiers differently. For every possible scenario so he doesn't have to try and rule for every obstacle they encounter.
But now the greatest commander of all lost to him in a chess match; at least that's what the audience will think.
But Sam thought otherwise. He had no interest in thinking that he really had that much ability.
Kartikeya finally moved his queen.
The queen had twenty health points and was a fifth level Nascent. So, Sam was quite nervous from anxiety, he moved the queen to the same row as his pawn. Must be trying to get this out. Sam doesn't like it. This pawn was the closest to the other party's place.
Once she advanced, she could have another queen. So, he did not want it destroyed.
He quickly thought of something and looked at his other pieces.
He also moved his queen and placed it in the same row as his own pawn.
He was quite confident that he could defeat the queen with his own queen easily. And he was pretty sure that even Kartikeya knew that, so he was willing to see if he would take the risk.
And as he thought, the other party did not do so, but he had a strange light in his eyes and began to move his fortress to the remaining pawns.
This time, Sam did not care and moved his pawn one step forward.
Kartikeya had locked the pawn in a horizontal line and Sam in a vertical line, so he didn't need to move.
Now Kartikeya did not focus on pawns and started dealing with the remaining two. The first pawn that met the Fortress died just like that and could barely reduce the Fortress' health by three points.
Sam moved the Pion once more and after this only one step remained for him to advance and his pawn would be promoted.
He felt something suspicious. No matter how he looks, Kartikeya's game is almost over. There are not many ways to turn the game around.
But this time, Sam with paranoia did not let the fortress stomp. When the fort approached him, he had just destroyed himself and almost all of the Fortress health bars were gone. There was only one health bar left and even pawns would kill him easily.
But Sam only has one pawn and that's the step. He moved it and got a promotion.
Queen.
Sam thought that he had to face incredible obstacles, but there was nothing here.
As he thought and played the game, all the remaining pieces of Kartikeya were lost and only the king was left.
Sam hadn't approached the king all this time. The king could only move one step, but except for the queen and the king himself, all the other pieces were useless.
At the moment, Kartikeya said.
"I forgot to mention the rules. Only two kings remain. They're going straight to war."
Sam was surprised because he didn't know what to say. At this moment, he felt that something was amiss.
He transferred the Queen directly to the King and started the battle.
And as soon as he entered the battle stage, Sam was shocked. Because the person in front of him was Kartikeya himself.
He had a spear in his hand and he played it.
Sam felt alert and pulled out his cane and ran towards him. But Kartikeya was very relaxed as if he had not seen it coming, but when Sam swung his staff, he accurately blocked the attack.
Sam did not stop and continued attacking, after some time, he switched to his light element fusion form. With a ninety percent partial fusion, he started attacking his opponent as if his life depended on this one battle.
But Sam doesn't manage to deal any decent damage to Kartikeya, as if he's playing house. He's very relaxed.
Sam tried his best to ignore his expression and continued to attack.
After some time, just as he was about to change the shape of the attack, his kartikeya made another move and Sam felt like he was being attacked by a dozen spears. There were over a dozen spear images in front of Sam and he could barely see Kartikeya's silhouette behind the image.
He leapt back violently to dodge the attack, but as soon as he retreated, one of the dozen moved and stabbed Sam right in the stomach.
Sam felt shocked and all the spear images disappeared.
Kartikeya was clearly visible as he stood up.
Sam immediately activated his eye technique and felt his energy ripples, the next moment he would be torn to shreds once more. A small reduction in Kartikeya's health bar and energy ripples were enough for him to assume that.
Sam did not bother waiting and completed his hundred-man light element fusion as he parted from the spear. But he's too slow. Right before the spear came out of his body, energy ripples came even his body was not spared.
But he still gritted his teeth and looked at Kartikeya coldly as soon as he came out. He did not die by those energy ripples but was severely damaged.
He suddenly expanded the fusion body as much as he could and turned everything into a laser and burned all his remaining energy, he would die at the end of this attack, he said, but he did not want to lose the fight.
Kartikeya twisted his spear as he blocked the laser beam, but as he danced with the spear, two laser beams managed to pierce through at Sam's breath tip. One of them hit him in the armpit and the other hit him in the inner thigh creating two heat scars and one full health bar.
But there were still twenty-nine left.
Sam felt Deja Vu.
It was the same as the previous heritage palace where he fought the Monkey King, who defeated him easily.
At least the fight wasn't to die like this.
Sam looked at the board and the remaining pieces.
In the process of removing Kartikeya's pawn, he lost his Bishop. Now only her fortress, second queen, king, and knights were left with half her health left.
He wasn't entirely sure that he could complete Kartikeya even if they were on the same level. So, he had to find a way to use this chess game for his benefit. After some thought, he finally had a rather risky idea. But the risk is not that he loses the game, but something else.
