Chapter 46. Day Trip

After the meeting ended, Sam walked out of the academy and started walking towards his house. But he some people stopped him on the road and the one who led happened to be Eisen.

Sam did not speak and simply looked at Eisen with a cold gaze while raising his eyebrows as if questioning him about his goal. For some reason Eisen was annoyed to see Sam's indifferent attitude and said in an arrogant tone.

"You better step down from the team." He only made a statement as if he was ordering his subordinates as he looked down at his height two inches taller than Sam. There were two people behind Eisen and one of them was part of the team and another who looked a little like Eisen, looked at Sam with a proud smile.

Sam answered nothing and just walked around the group keeping quiet.

"Wait."

"Sam."

Two shouts came simultaneously and one of them was Eisen and the other surprised Jack who was running towards them. When Sam stares at Jack and doesn't even care about Eisen, he becomes enraged. Because he felt his pride hurt. He was the champion for the assessment and senior in the Academy and most importantly was his higher cultivation level. So, a junior and one without exams were really thorns in his eyes.

"Let's talk at the mansion." Sam said to Jack as Jack nodded and the two began walking.

Seeing the blatant neglect of the two made Eisen grit his teeth furiously. "Sam, do you think you're great. I am also an inscription master and Formation master and my father is the head of the Formation tower. Even if you have more titles than me, then how? I heard that you don't even have a teacher and you're self-taught. How far do you think you can go? You better stop being arrogant and humble. In front of me you're nothing." He said while releasing his beginner stage aura.

Sam did not even care about his words and continued walking, but Jack stopped his steps and looked at Eisen with a cold, hostile look. So, he also had to stop and turn around and pat Jack on the shoulder.

"I don't have time to sniff out any dirt that's in my path. We can take a walk and ignore it." He said and pulled Jack as he started walking.

Eisen and the two people behind him immediately put on an ugly expression and Eisen experienced the worst when he saw people looking at him in a strange way. He was about to explode, but then he remembered that, he was near the Academy and the heart of the city. So, he forced himself to calm down and looked at Sam's back with a hateful gaze before leaving the place.

After some time. The House of Sam.

Both Sam and Jack were sitting opposite each other in the living room. Sam had the same nonchalant expression on his face, but his coldness was slightly reduced. Jack seemed to be hesitating about something.

"Are you going to talk or not?" Sam asked while looking at Jack.

"I need something" said Jack slowly. An expression of unwillingness on his face.

Sam did not speak and only gave a questioning look and remained silent. Looking at him, Jack just took a deep breath and continued.

"I know you don't like to give help, but I have no other choice. Do you have a way to take Shawn with us to the cliff town of the Falcon?"

"He didn't pass the exam. Why do you want him to come?" ask Sam.

"It has something to do with Eisen. Before the final round of the exam, he and his two subordinates jumped towards me and Shawn to get a spot. But part of their plan failed and I was able to secure it, but Shawn was not as lucky as he was and received the first strike at full force. He couldn't even participate in the final round." Jack explained.

"So, Eisen told me to step down because he wanted another place and he thought I was an easy target, because I didn't have any background?" Sam muttered to himself. Then he talked to Jack.

"Even if I can get Shawn to join us on the way, how will that help? He can't join the team, can he?" Sam asked in response.

"It was an accident." Jack replied in a cold tone.

"Of course, take her with you." Sam smiled and agreed. Jack immediately became relieved and left after he said his thanks.

Currently, he had a total of 825,000 spirit stones he obtained from the auction and he had 2,000 fire element spirit stones still remaining after his consumption, Yanwu and Panther. Along with the 15000 spirit stones he had obtained from selling the mansion and the 100,000 spirit stones he had obtained from the deal with the Headmaster, his total net worth was roughly 850000 more spirit stones which made him feel slightly satisfied. This habit of being satisfied with his own money comes from his past life. Although, Sam is famous for his intelligence and abilities, another trait that most people know about him is waste. He likes to spend money and make money, he has a lot of materialistic needs and reckless spending makes all second generation heirs burn with jealousy. She doesn't know exactly why she has this habit, but she does know that it has to do with her childhood poverty. Even after his rebirth, Sam still has the same materialistic love and he has no thoughts of getting rid of it.

The day of departure finally arrived and Sam left the mansion early in the morning and started walking to the gates of the Academy. When he arrived, there were already a few people waiting there. There was a large carriage made of top grade quality Starwood and several other rank 1 metals. The train was completely black in color and it mostly looked like a modern celebrity caravan and in fact Sam actually designed it that way. It has all the things that the caravan has to have except the engine and the driver compartment which gives it more space. In front of the Caravan were two blazing earth bulls clinging to it like horses.

Sam ignored the people who were waiting to walk towards the two bulls and patted their heads, which they tamely rubbed their heads into his palms. Others who appreciated the large carriage with great interest were stunned when they saw the sight. Sam who possessed these two beasts was not a thing that many people knew, so when the other students saw this, they were stunned. After all taming a savage beast was neither common nor easy to do.

Sam doesn't care about anything and just checks the bull. They grow, not only in size but also in their level. Before he came to this city, they were at Middle-stage level 2 and now they were at the final level of level 2. He wondered how the Evergreen family took care of them.

Sam then looked at the other students, who were chatting. There are three people here and two of them are people who are part of the team and the other person seems to be their person. That additional person was a boy wearing a Starwood academy uniform. The two team members are male and female, who are the fourth and last girls besides Kelly, Freya and Haley. They give Sam a glimpse as they whisper amongst themselves. Shortly after, people began to arrive. Philip, Freya, Haley came along and greeted Sam and Kelly arriving a while later and she greeted him in a low voice and started chatting with them. Of course, except with Sam. He's still a little scared.

A few moments later Jack came with Shawn.

"Sam, thank you so much." Shawn spoke as soon as he showed up. His face was still somewhat pale a clear sign of him recovering from his injuries. Sam smiled without giving any response.

"What is this about?"  Freya asked directly while their other group became a little curious. After all, one of the top rankings in the entrance exam, Shawn was rather familiar to them and they knew that he had some partnership with Sam on the entrance exam. They were first surprised that Shawn could not make the team and now he thanks Sam directly to make them curious.

"Not much, Sam said that I could come with you to the cliff town of the Falcon. Although, I might not have the chance to participate in the tournament. I can cheer you up and broaden my horizons." Shawn said with his trademark grin.

"Who said you could come? Did you ask my permission at all?" Suddenly a voice interrupting her from behind caught the attention of the group and they saw Eisen with the two people who stopped Sam yesterday.

"I'm a team leader. Did you ask my permission to bring someone?" Eisen asked directly walking towards Sam with an arrogant look. He was eighteen years old and he was naturally a little taller than Sam, so he wanted to intimidate him with his stature and cultivation. But all he got in response was an indifferent expression.

No one reacted to his statement and everyone seemed to be deliberately ignoring him in Sam's group and they just brought their chat as if he wasn't there at all. The situation suddenly became awkward for him and his face flushed red with embarrassment and anger and just as he was about to blow his emotions away ...

"It looks like everyone is here." The Headmaster's voice came and along with the Headmaster someone else also followed him which shocked everyone and that person was none other than the City lord of Starwood City. Everyone started to bow and greet him.

"Greetings. The city lord."

"Greetings. The city lord."

"Greetings. The city lord."

"Greetings. The city lord."

But there's always an exception and it's Sam not even seeing him a second time.

He did not care about them at all and simply walked towards the carriage door that was in the middle and opened the door. Seeing this everyone thought, he would open it to the city lord. But they were wrong when Sam went straight in after he opened the door, leaving them dumbfounded. Before, they could get out of their daydream, they saw Sam stick his head to the side and say.

"Philip, Jack, Shawn, ladies, let's go up, what are you waiting for?" He asked as if there was no one else here.

The Headmaster looked at Sam and cursed in his heart. Sam looked at her and grinned provocatively. 'You want to get a free ride and do you think I'll be okay with scamming you with some money. I'll make you grind your teeth to dust from shame.' Sam thought as he walked in.

The city lord also stood there awkwardly in silence. He understands Sam's cold treatment. Who can he blame for that? The other teammates were all shocked not knowing how to react, then suddenly a voice blew their minds.

"SAM, YOU'RE STUPID. DARE YOU DARE DISRESPECT THE CITY LORD AND PRINCIPAL? GET DOWN IMMEDIATELY AND APOLOGIZE." Eisen roared furiously as he charged towards the carriage door.
